Rightio Loose Units, Seymour's serving up a Soft 7 with the rail true, and that usually means the clean movers and the handy types get first crack before the swoopers start asking questions. It's not a bog, but it's not a picnic either - more "you'd better travel" than "run home in 10.8s and laugh". We've got a heap of market steam, a few proper drifters, and a card that starts sensible before getting a bit feral from Race 3 onwards.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Seymour, 1000m-1600m card
Rail: True Entire Circuit
Official going: Soft 7 (expected to play fair-to-on-pace, with the handy runners getting first dibs)
Weather: Mostly sunny, 13°C, humidity 81%, light E wind - watch for the track drying out a touch as the day rolls on
Early lane guess: Inside to middle lanes should hold up early; if they overdo it on the speed, the wider swoopers can come over the top later
Tempo profile: A couple of true sprints, a few moderate mile races, and one or two proper scrap-fests where the map is going to do half the job for you
Jockeys to follow:
Mark Zahra - on Mahershala, and when he's aboard a short-priced runner the market usually isn't dreaming
Jamie Mott - everywhere today, and he knows how to nurse a soft-track tempo like a bloke protecting the last sausage at the barbie
Lachlan Neindorf - keeps popping up on live chances and value plays, especially when the map gives him a sniff
Stables to respect:
C Maher (4 runners) - has live claims right through the card and the market is already poking its nose in
Mitchell Freedman (3 runners) - a couple of runners with upside and the right race shape to make a noise
A & S Freedman (3 runners) - not mucking about; when they put one in the right lane, they usually mean business
Punty's take: This is one of those Seymour cards where the map is half the battle and the other half is not being a mug about the price. The short races lean to the horses with sharp early speed and decent racecraft, while the mile and 1400m races are where the soft ground starts asking serious questions. If you've got a backmarker with no map and no luck, you're basically hoping for a miracle and a cameo from the Avengers.
Punty's take: The market's already spoken in a few spots - Mahershala, Bull Run, Centu Cavaddi, Chowdown and Set Me Loose have all been helped in early betting - but there are still some sneaky ones who look overs if you're not scared of a bit of heat. The trick today is not trying to be a hero in every race. Pick your battles, lean on the races where the map and the money agree, and don't go wandering into the chaos just because the odds are juicy. That's how punters end up doing their dough and blaming the weather, the dog, and the bagman.
What it means for you: Race 2 looks the cleanest anchor on the program - short price, solid map, and the stable/jockey combo is exactly the sort of setup you want when the meeting's got a bit of shape to it. Race 4 and Race 8 are the ones where the place market and each-ways make more sense than trying to be a cowboy, because the tempo isn't screaming and the soft ground can turn a tight finish into a war of attrition.
What it means for you: The quaddie lanes are split nicely between banker-ish legs and a couple of proper headaches, so don't get seduced by "all-up" fever. The early quaddie can be played a bit tighter, but the main quaddie needs more cover because R5, R6 and R7 all have a whiff of the apocalypse about them. If you're hunting a bit of edge, the place numbers on the value horses are where the sneaky lunch money lives.
PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI
These are the three bets the day leans on.
1 - Mahershala (Race 2, No.3) — $1.52
Why He looks the right horse in the right race - big market push, class edge on the resumption, and Zahra doing the steering is never a bad omen for the rest of us.
2 - Bull Run (Race 4, No.2) — $3.15
Why He maps to take control in a race that doesn't look overloaded for tempo, and the market's already had a proper nibble. If he settles in the first half without burning petrol, he's right in it.
3 - Set Me Loose (Race 8, No.4) — $2.01
Why The sprint map looks his to shape, and from there it's just a matter of not giving the others a free ride. If he jumps cleanly, he can make them chase like extras in a Mad Max scene.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × ~9.63 = ~$96.30 collect
Race 1 – The Baby Dash
Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Vivarini likely to roll forward; Koko and Master Taj get handy runs, while the roughies need the race to fall apart
Punty read: This one looks like a speed-and-position race. Vivarini has the big figure, Koko has the market love, and Master Taj is the honest sort who can sit off them and get the last crack. If the tempo goes hard, Points For Effort is the kind of wide-drawn ratbag who might be running on when the smoke clears, but on paper this is a race for the proper types with a decent map rather than a fairy-tale swooper.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Vivarini (No.10) — $2.10 / $1.17
Bet $5.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$5.00
Prob 41.3% | Place: 95.0% | Value: 1.17x
Why She looks the class act in the yard and the pace map says she gets every possible chance to ping and keep rolling. Short enough to make your eyes water, but she still looks the one they all have to beat.
2. Koko (No.7) — $4.25 / $1.35
Bet $4.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$2.80
Prob 19.1% | Place: 66.7% | Value: 0.96x
Why Nice enough horse to be around the money again and the market's already sniffing around. He can sit close, avoid trouble, and should be there turning for home.
3. Master Taj (No.2) — $4.25 / $1.32
Bet $1.50 Place — ✓ Won, net +$0.48
Prob 17.7% | Place: 66.7% | Value: 0.72x
Why Honest little bugger who has been knocking on the door and should get a soft enough run midfield. If the leaders overcook it, he is the one who can hit the line hard enough to make a mess of the finish.
Roughie: Points For Effort (No.3) — $25.50 / $4.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 1.9% | Place: 33.9% | Value: 0.66x
Why He's the roughie because he's been a bit of a shocker on paper, but if the speed collapses and the inside holds, this is the backmarker who could be flying late like he owes the bookies money.
Race 2 – The Zahra Job
Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with Mahershala sitting midfield and the leaders likely getting their chance to control it
Punty read: Mahershala looks the obvious anchor, and the market has already had a ferocious munch on him for good reason. Fast Freddie is the only other one in here who looks like he can keep the favourite honest if he improves sharply, while Bright Star is the one for the exotics if you want a bit of sauce in the place markets. The rest are basically trying to sneak into the photo like they were never invited to the party.
Top 3 + Roughie ($21.50 pool)
1. Mahershala (No.3) — $1.52 / $1.09
Bet $14.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$7.28
Prob 47.6% | Place: 95.0% | Value: 1.05x
Why He resumes with the right gears on, the right rider aboard, and the sort of market confidence that usually means the stable has had a quiet word with itself. If he doesn't win, you'll want a stewards' inquiry and a priest.
2. Fast Freddie (No.9) — $4.30 / $1.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.3% | Place: 66.7% | Value: 0.99x
Why He's the danger if the favourite is only fair, but the price isn't doing enough for me to get involved. More of a "watch him run well" sort of animal than a "please hand me the money now" one.
3. Bright Star (No.10) — $8.20 / $1.90
Bet $7.50 Place — ✗ Lost, net +$0.00
Prob 13.9% | Place: 65.5% | Value: 1.06x
Why Has the right sort of form line and the map isn't terrible if they don't absolutely crawl. Place is the play - he can stalk and rattle home while the short-priced kids do all the heavy lifting.
Roughie: Love Dad (No.2) — $15.75 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.8% | Place: 43.3% | Value: 1.20x
Why First time blinkers can sharpen him up, but he still needs a fair bit to go right. If he pops, it'll be because the gear change and the inside draw wake him up early enough to land closer than expected.
Race 3 – The Messy Maiden
Race type: Maiden, 1300m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo, with Rainy Night and Gran Paradiso getting the softest of the shape; the wide barriers make life awkward for the rest
Punty read: This is the sort of race that looks neat in the form guide and turns into a bar fight at the 300m. Rainy Night has the class and the map to sit there like a cat on a warm roof, Gran Paradiso brings fresh legs and jumpout heat, and Frozen Princess is the one who can run into the minor money if she gets a clean ride. Circus Lights is the juicy improver, but the roughie path is through a tempo melt and a bit of luck from the inside.
Top 3 + Roughie ($16.00 pool)
1. Rainy Night (No.4) — $2.41 / $1.30
Bet $6.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$6.00
Prob 30.1% | Place: 66.7% | Value: 0.88x
Why Has the right profile for a soft-ground maiden - handy enough, fit enough, and from the map he doesn't need a miracle. The one to beat if he simply turns up and does his job.
2. Gran Paradiso (No.2) — $3.62 / $1.37
Bet $6.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$3.00
Prob 18.2% | Place: 65.5% | Value: 1.03x
Why Fresh off the jumpouts and the stable has clearly got a bit of intent here. He can settle midfield and stay out of the early melee, which is half the battle in these awkward maidens.
3. Frozen Princess (No.8) — $5.05 / $1.75
Bet $4.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$3.00
Prob 16.1% | Place: 65.5% | Value: 0.95x
Why The map gives her a fair shot to lob into a stalking spot and finish off. If the leaders start gasping, she's the one who can come over the top without having to do the donkey work.
Roughie: Circus Lights (No.6) — $9.70 / $2.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.8% | Place: 43.3% | Value: 1.05x
Why Tongue tie first time and a handy little map makes him the sneaky one if he sharpens up. If the race turns into a slog, he can be the bloke sneaking through the pack while others are busy arguing over the podium.
Race 4 – The Mile of Mayhem
Race type: Maiden, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow tempo, with Bull Run and the handy types getting the first crack; the backmarkers need the race to be run at half-speed and then some
Punty read: This is a weird old setup - slow pace, soft ground, and a bunch of horses who'd rather not be left holding the baby. Bull Run should get his chance to dictate, while Ichnusa and Seinfeld sit in the slipstream and wait for the gaps to open. Just Swift is the one who can run on if the race finally gets honest, but if they dawdle, the race could be over before the swoopers even find their glasses.
Top 3 + Roughie ($20.50 pool)
1. Bull Run (No.2) — $3.15 / $1.37
Bet $17.00 Each Way ($8.50W + $8.50P) — Cashed, net -$5.10
Prob 24.6% | Place: 95.0% | Value: 0.78x
Why He has the map to be in the right spot and the market's already spoken pretty loudly. If he relaxes early and doesn't get trapped in a slow-motion wrestle, he's the one they all have to run down.
2. Ichnusa (No.5) — $5.00 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.4% | Place: 65.5% | Value: 1.00x
Why Tongue tie first time is the sort of gear tweak that can wake one up, but the market hasn't exactly thrown the kitchen sink at him. Can run well without being the best punt on the card.
3. Seinfeld (No.6) — $3.45 / $1.40
Bet $3.50 Place — ✓ Won, net +$2.10
Prob 17.0% | Place: 65.5% | Value: 0.86x
Why Worked home fairly enough and should strip fitter with a more suitable setup. The soft tempo means he'll need the race to open up late, but if it does, he'll be finishing on like a bloke late for the last train.
Roughie: Share The Pennies (No.13) — $9.70 / $2.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.9% | Place: 58.7% | Value: 0.88x
Why Loves to grind away and does enough things right to be a place threat, but from the map he still needs the right breaks. If the leaders stitch each other up and he gets the right tow into it, he can clatter into the frame.
Race 5 – The Grinder
Race type: BM62, 1600m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, with Outdrive and the handy sorts getting the best run; the deep swoopers need the tempo to be genuine
Punty read: This is the first real staying test of the day and it's a proper old racer's race. Outdrive has been backed like the mob's found the good oil, Zentorno is the short-priced speedboat who still has questions at the trip, and Annabelle Sunshine is the value play with the right kind of late squeeze. Prestige Ole is the roughie with the sneaky profile - if the old boy gets the right trip, he could make a liar out of the market.
Top 3 + Roughie ($17.50 pool)
1. Outdrive (No.4) — $4.70 / $1.75
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P) — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 16.1% | Place: 58.7% | Value: 0.99x
Why The market's had a proper shove at him and you can see why - he comes here with a form line that says he's ready to strike. If he lands midfield and gets clear galloping room, he's the one with the cleanest path.
2. Zentorno (No.3) — $1.88 / $1.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.7% | Place: 43.3% | Value: 0.39x
Why He's the classiest name on the page but the price is skinny enough to make a grown man cry into his beer. If he wins, fair play - but I'm not chasing him at that quote.
3. Annabelle Sunshine (No.6) — $8.95 / $2.60
Bet $4.50 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$4.50
Prob 14.3% | Place: 58.7% | Value: 1.68x
Why The place profile is the real story here - she's fit, she likes this sort of setup, and the map gives her every chance to finish over the top of a few tired legs.
Roughie: Prestige Ole (No.1) — $11.25 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.0% | Place: 63.7% | Value: 1.48x
Why Barrier blanket off and a second-up profile that says he can bounce forward. If the soft tempo turns into a bit of a crawl, he is the sort who can pinch a placing or even nick the race at a nice price.
Race 6 – The Soft 1400 Slog
Race type: BM62, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo with Centu Cavaddi and the on-pace brigade favoured; backmarkers need a perfect trail and a bit of luck
Punty read: Centu Cavaddi has been smashed in betting and it makes sense - the blinkers go on and the map suits a horse who's been crying out for a bit of intent. Sacramental is the bigger price horse who can camp off them and snag a cheque, while Deadly Press and Igotcha are the sort who can hang around without necessarily lighting the world on fire. If Centu Cavaddi jumps cleanly, he can make this look very ordinary.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Centu Cavaddi (No.4) — $2.72 / $1.37
Bet $13.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 15.1% | Place: 54.9% | Value: 0.54x
Why Heavy market support, first-time blinkers, and a race shape that says he gets his chance. That's the sort of combo that keeps the bookies honest and punters mildly less stupid.
2. Sacramental (No.5) — $8.70 / $2.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.8% | Place: 54.9% | Value: 1.57x
Why The big price is tempting but the race shape doesn't scream "blitz". Still, he looks the sort who can grind into the finish if the leaders cut each other's throats.
3. Deadly Press (No.8) — $5.60 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.8% | Place: 43.3% | Value: 1.01x
Why Honest enough and gets the map, but the numbers say he's more of a supporting actor than the star of the show. Needs the race to be run the right way, and then some.
Roughie: Igotcha (No.11) — $9.75 / $3.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.8% | Place: 54.9% | Value: 1.50x
Why Can bob up if they overdo it up front, but he'd want a decent speed and a clean passage. Place threat more than killer blow.
Race 7 – The Speed Trap
Race type: Class 1, 1200m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Chowdown and Ludlum in the mix; the map is kind to the forward runners, but the little sharks behind them aren't dead yet
Punty read: This is the sort of race that can eat the unprepared alive. Chowdown, Ludlum and Glam Award are the three the market has decided to cuddle, but Electric Elvis and Rogue Warrior are the ones who can upset the nice clean story if the front line gets too keen. Zoutanium is the real roughie if you want a punting story - first-up, light map, and a sneaky pattern that says he can surprise when the race shape is right.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Chowdown (No.1) — $3.42 / $1.32
Bet $11.00 Each Way ($5.50W + $5.50P) — ✗ Lost, net -$11.00
Prob 19.3% | Place: 58.7% | Value: 0.83x
Why Back from a break, blinkers off, and the map says he can sit close enough to make his own luck. That's the sort of setup that wins these lower-grade sprints more often than not.
2. Ludlum (No.2) — $2.80 / $1.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.3% | Place: 65.5% | Value: 0.68x
Why Resumes with solid trials and has the right sort of profile if he brings his best. But at that quote, he's more a danger than a bet.
3. Glam Award (No.10) — $4.65 / $1.55
Bet $4.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$4.40
Prob 19.3% | Place: 63.7% | Value: 1.13x
Why The market has come for him and the cross-over nose band is a nice little nudge. If the speed gets lively and he gets his chance, he can be right in the finish.
Roughie: Hopes 'n' Dreams (No.6) — $20.75 / $4.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.6% | Place: 63.7% | Value: 1.47x
Why If the leaders overcook it and he gets to stalk without burning petrol, he's the sort who can sneak into the exotics. Needs the race to fall right, but the map says he is not out of the story.
Race 8 – The Last Laugh Sprint
Race type: BM62, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with Set Me Loose, Rosangela and In Haste all suited up front; the pressure's there, but the race still screams for those with a solid turn of foot
Punty read: This is a proper dash and bash. Set Me Loose has the winning profile and the map to control it, Rosangela is the place anchor with the market behind her, and In Haste is the nice little value play who can run over them if the speed gets too spicy. Wicked Storm is the honest danger, and Pacific Glamour is the one the market has already decided to have a crack at. If you're waiting for the backmarkers to save you, you might as well wait for the next Batman reboot to be good.
Top 3 + Roughie ($17.50 pool)
1. Set Me Loose (No.4) — $2.01 / $1.22
Bet $5.50 Win — ✓ Won, net +$6.05
Prob 27.9% | Place: 65.5% | Value: 0.72x
Why The map is a gift and the class/speed combo is exactly what you want in a 1000m zip. If he jumps cleanly, he can sit in front and make the others come and get him.
2. Rosangela (No.6) — $3.65 / $1.35
Bet $8.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$7.20
Prob 16.9% | Place: 54.9% | Value: 0.79x
Why Heavily backed and rightfully so - he gets a juicy map and should be there when the whips are out. Place looks the sensible play.
3. In Haste (No.1) — $9.10 / $2.30
Bet $4.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$5.20
Prob 14.9% | Place: 63.7% | Value: 1.74x
Why He can absolutely run a race here if the leaders get too busy with each other. Soft ground, solid form, and a decent little map - that's the recipe for a late knock-out punch.
Roughie: Invincible Amour (No.7) — $25.00 / $4.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.0% | Place: 58.7% | Value: 1.59x
Why Needs the race to collapse in front of him, but if it does he's got the finishing profile to run past a few spent bullets. The path is there, it's just a bit of a long shot.
SEQUENCE LANES — SINGLE OPTIMISED TICKET
EARLY QUADDIE (R1-R4)
Smart: 10,7,2 / 3,9,10,2 / 4,2,8,6 / 2,6,5,13 (192 combos x $0.10 = $20.00) -- 10% flexi
Two banker-ish legs keep it from turning into complete chaos, but R3 and R4 are still proper sweat jobs. Tight enough to be live, wide enough to survive the nonsense.
QUADDIE (R5-R8)
Smart: 4,3,6,1 / 4,5,8,11 / 2,10,1,6 / 4,6,1 (192 combos x $0.17 = $32.00) -- 17% flexi
Four open-ish legs and not a lot of mercy. This one is entertainment with a genuine chance of landing if the market leaders keep doing the job, but you'll be sweating through your socks if one favourite falls over.
BIG 6 (R3-R8)
Smart: 4 / 2 / 4 / 4 / 1 / 4 (1 combos x $2.00 = $2.00) -- 200% flexi
That is as skinny as a supermarket snag on a Wednesday. Massive risk, but if you're playing for a boom result rather than a warm cuddle, it keeps the ticket alive and the dream silly.
NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK
1 - Market steam is the loudest clue on the card
Mahershala, Bull Run, Centu Cavaddi, Chowdown and Set Me Loose have all been trimmed, and in most of those cases the move makes sense with the map, class, or setup. When the money and the shape agree, punters should stop overthinking and get on with it.
2 - The soft-track sprints lean handy
Race 1, Race 7 and Race 8 all look like races where forward runners can get first use of the ground. If you're hunting a swooper in those, make sure the race shape is screaming for it - otherwise you're just donating to the pool.
3 - Some of the overs are better in the place market than the win market
In Haste, Prestige Ole and Bright Star look the sort who can turn value into a cheque without necessarily being the star of the parade. That's where the sneaky money lives today - not every roughie needs to win, some just need to do enough to keep your week alive.
THE DEGEN DEN
Seymour isn't handing out free lunches today - it'll reward the punters who respect the map, the money and the mud. Stick to the plan, don't go full punter goblin on every roughie, and remember the best way to survive a card like this is to let the races that suit you do the heavy lifting. Gamble Responsibly.
Punty's Wrap-Up
The Wrap Seymour - Speed had the last laugh
Mahershala and Set Me Loose both saluted, and the Big 3 multi got up as a bonus sniff of the piney. But the middle of the card chewed us up a bit, with Outdrive, Chowdown and Centu Cavaddi all getting the old “thanks for coming” treatment. The big pattern was simple: handy runners with a map were getting first crack, and the swoopers were mostly left holding the babysitting gig.
How It Unfolded
The day kicked off pretty much how the map promised. On a Soft 7 with the rail true, the horses with tactical speed were given every chance to roll forward, park in the first few, and kick clear before the backmarkers could wind up. That showed straight away with Mahershala and later Set Me Loose — if you were handy and travelling, you were in the fight.
By the middle of the card, the track never really turned into a swooper’s playground. The lanes stayed honest enough, and the races that looked like they’d get messy still tended to go to horses who were either controlling the tempo or stalking the right part of the track. So the preview was mostly confirmed: not a bog, not a road, just a day where position mattered more than pretty sectionals and fairy tales.
The Scoreboard

Big 3 Multi Result
Hit. Mahershala, Bull Run and Set Me Loose all got the job done and the multi paid $96.30. Lovely little bonus for the sickos.
Race by Race — How'd We Go?
R1: Vivarini Win — 4th, and the speed horses held enough to blunt the finish.
R2: Mahershala Win — BANG, too classy and too well placed.
R3: Rainy Night Win — never really threatened; Gran Paradiso had the better run and the soft-ground shape.
R4: Bull Run Each Way — 3rd, but the race was a proper slog and he got collared late.
R5: Outdrive Each Way — 4th, tempo never got hot enough to set it up for the swoopers.
R6: Centu Cavaddi Win — 2nd, had every chance but Deadly Press got the jump.
R7: Chowdown Each Way — 6th, map looked sweet but the race didn’t fall his way.
R8: Set Me Loose Win — BANG, and Rosangela plus In Haste both ran the money in behind.
Selections: 2/8 hit for -$39.77
What We Learned — The Factors That Mattered
Pace and position were the whole bloody show. On this Soft 7, the horses that could sit handy, travel, and find the button at the right time were getting first use of the ground. Mahershala, Set Me Loose, Ludlum, and even the likes of Ichnusa and Deadly Press all fit that mould — not necessarily the flashiest on paper, but they were in the right postcode when it mattered.
The market was a mixed bag. When the money was right, it was right — Mahershala and Set Me Loose were exactly the sort of runners punters should’ve been chewing on. But when we tried to fight the shape or lean too hard against a short one like Zentorno, we got reminded that skinny odds can still be skinny for a reason. That’s racing, the great big bastard with a poker face.
Barrier and track position mattered, but more as a partner to early speed than as a standalone miracle. Low-to-middle draws with tactical speed were golden in the sprint races, and the horses that could hold a spot without burning petrol got the first shot at the line. The day’s defining factor was simple: tactical speed. If you could hold a handy spot and quicken off it, you were laughing.
What that means next time Seymour throws up a Soft 7 with the rail true: don’t get sucked into backmarkers unless the speed map is screaming meltdown. Give the early pace horses first dibs, respect the runners with clean maps, and treat the wide swooper as a roughie only when the race shape is begging for one. It’s not rocket science — it’s just not being a mug.
Track Read — How The Map Played Out
The pre-race map was largely spot on. The leaders and handy types kept getting first run at the track, especially in the shorter races, and the fence never turned into a dead zone. If you were close enough to poke your nose in turning for home, you were a live hope; if you were back and needed luck, you were praying for a miracle and a soundtrack from the Avengers.
There wasn’t a dramatic lane shift late, which is the key takeaway. The track didn’t suddenly become a bonfire for closers, so the shape stayed consistent from start to finish: position first, finish second. The jockeys who rode positively and didn’t overthink it were the ones landing the punches — Zahra on Mahershala and the rider on Set Me Loose both played it like blokes who knew the deck of cards was stacked in their favour.

Closing
Not a clean day, but not a total clanger either — we found a few proper cheques, landed the Big 3 multi, and still got reminded that punting without the map is a good way to donate lunch money. We take the wins, cop the stinkers, and carry the lessons into the next meeting where hopefully the loose units in the front half do the heavy lifting again. Gamble Responsibly.
