For all of Punty's tips for Beaudesert, head to https://punty.ai/tips/beaudesert-2026-08-21

Rightio Loose Units, Beaudesert on the Good 4, rails true, and the track's doing that classic thing where the front stuff punches harder than a Disney cartoon kangaroo. It's a 24 scratchings kind of day too, so if your runner looks underdone, it might just be because the gate got rearranged by the universe. Love that for us.

This is one of those meetings where pace maps matter a bit too much, and gear changes matter more than your mates' tips at the pub. Get on the speed early, protect the value lanes, and when something firms in the market with no obvious reason, you either grin or you swear off racing forever. I choose to grin, mostly.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Good 4, 1100-2450m card
Rail: True
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play "speed with a kick")
Weather: Partly cloudy, 7°C, humidity 97%, wind 3km/h ESE (watch for "nothing gets too heavy, but it's a thinking man's day")
Early lane guess: Early Quaddie looks like a mixed bag of clear-speed and one chaos leg that'll bite you
Tempo profile: Mostly genuine to slow tempo across distances, so positioning is king, especially in the mid-races
Jockeys to follow:
Jace McMurray: he's got the cleanest hands through the day, and he's riding the runners that map to be prominent
William Galloway: when he gets a value speed horse, he makes it look easy
Bailey Wheeler: he's often one of the few who can slot in and still find the lane
Stables to respect:
Jeff Dunn (1 runners): Demarcay is the sort that gets the right trip and doesn't get bullied
Mick Morgan (1 runners): when they point at a race and change the gameplan with gear, it usually lands
Stephen Kirkwood (1 runners): Magritte types can jump up fast when the market's already awake

Punty's take:

This track today is a "get-position-or-get-stiffed" joint. When pace is advantaged, it's advantaged hard, and the horses out there are going to be within reach turning for home. The rail is true, so I'm not expecting some magical dart to win from the dead inside every time. I'm expecting leaders to keep just enough petrol in the tank.

In the first half, Race 1 and Race 3 look like the kind of races where the front runners do the heavy lifting, and the "middle packers" come from perfect stalking positions, not from being parkers five wide. Demarcay in Race 1 is your steady spine. Swift Duke in Race 3 is your "don't overthink it, just respect the speed" button.

Second half is where people get cute and lose money, mainly because the price moves and gear changes create confusion. That's exactly where you want me, the degenerate with a calculator and a sense of chaos.

What it means for you:

I want you aggressive where the map is clean and the market isn't lying to you. That's Race 1 and Race 3 for sure, and then Race 4 brings a classic form-and-pace combo where the favourite isn't value, but the runner still should be there at the business end.

Then we go hunting value with a plan. Race 2 is a "maiden chaos" scenario, where the gear changes mean someone's about to be brave. Race 6 is place-leverage heaven, and I'd rather back the one that gets the sit than play roulette with backmarkers that need everything to go right.

Bottom line, if you play tight early and widen smart later, you get to enjoy the night instead of watching your bet slip away like a banana peel in slow motion.

PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI

These are the three bets the day leans on.

1 - Divil A Bit (Race 4, No.3) — $2.01
Why Maps to control the tempo, and the market support plus the on-pace profile is a dangerous combo.
2 - Demarcay (Race 1, No.1) — $2.92
Why Stays with the right group early, then does the job late when others are still finding their voice.
3 - Swift Duke (Race 3, No.3) — $1.54
Why Speed horse 101, genuine tempo, and he's built to hit the front and keep punching.

Multi (all three to win): $10 × ~9 = ~$90 collect

Race 1 – TAB (Bm60)

Race type: Benchmark 60, 2450m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, Demarcay is pace advantaged.

Punty read:

This is a long, slow drag where the "who's closest at the turn" matters more than who has the best storybook form. Demarcay should find his spot on-pace and then just keep rolling, because 2450m at Good 4 is where tired horses start doing stupid things. Sunny Disposition has barrier 1, so she gets a nice early window, but the run needs to unfold clean. Flaming Genesis is the other on-pacer who looks like he can get into the action, while Papal Miss is the sort of roughie who can absolutely pick up the pieces if they go hard enough to set it up.

Top 3 + Roughie ($14.00 pool)

1. Demarcay (No.1) — $2.92 / $1.32
Bet $14.00 Win, return $40.88
Prob 31.3% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.17x
Why Slow tempo suits him, he's pace-true and should get first run at them late. Interference excuses from last start just make him look like the one to forgive.

2. Sunny Disposition (No.3) — $3.10 / $1.35
Bet Tracked
Prob 21.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.85x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Aboveforty (No.6) — $8.75 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.3% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.15x
Why You're backing the idea he gets first crack off the midfield. Value's there, but place divs are tricky at this rank.

Roughie: Papal Miss (No.10) — $10.25 / $2.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.5% | Place: 29.5% | Value: 1.11x
Win path: If traffic breaks late and the leaders start wobbling, she's capable of swooping into a big finish.

Race 2 – XXXX Mdn Plate

Race type: Maiden, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo with plenty of speed pressure on paper.

Punty read:

This one's all about who actually gets to perform, not just who theoretically can. With blinkers and first-time gear sprinkled through the field, someone's about to sharpen up like a car detailer just before show day. The likely pace is there from several runners, so watch for the one who can sit closer without burning out. Magritte profiles as the classic "get there with the right run" type at a short price, while I'm Not Here is the obvious speed-and-stamina play. Zoubuca Shots brings blinkers and the price looks tempting, especially if he jumps and slots into the right lane.

Top 3 + Roughie ($23.00 pool)

1. Magritte (No.12) — $3.10 / $1.50
Bet $19.50 Win, return $60.45
Prob 21.2% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.68x
Why He's one of the steadier profiles in a chaos maiden, and the place chances keep showing up even when the win doesn't. Market says it's live.

2. I'm Not Here (No.10) — $3.35 / $1.57
Bet $3.50 Place, return $5.50
Prob 18.0% | Place: 68.5% | Value: 0.92x
Why Barrier 1 style run, gets every chance to sit handy and hit the line with no fuss.

3. Zoubuca Shots (No.8) — $4.05 / $1.72
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.3% | Place: 56.2% | Value: 1.17x
Why Blinkers first time can turn a "place" horse into a winner, but we're saving the stake for where the edges are cleaner.

Roughie: Kiavela (No.13) — $9.20 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.7% | Place: 38.0% | Value: 1.11x
Win path: If blinkers lift her and the pace doesn't get too firm, she's the type to tag on for a big slice of the finish.

Race 3 – Scenic Rim Council (Bm60)

Race type: Benchmark 60, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, The Grand Duchy up front.

Punty read:

1100m at Beaudesert is the "you don't get a second chance" distance. Swift Duke being that sort of speed machine makes him hard to beat if he jumps and finds a rhythm. The Grand Duchy is another leader, and Armand is the proper danger, the one who can sit closer and then hit hardest in the straight. Zavega and Ode To Beauty are both in that "if they get the right lane, they'll run on" bracket. But if I have to pick the story, it's pace to the front, pressure late, and Swift Duke surviving the chaos.

Top 3 + Roughie ($9.00 pool)

1. Swift Duke (No.3) — $1.54 / $1.13
Bet $6.50 Win, return $10.01
Prob 28.3% | Place: 68.0% | Value: 0.70x
Why He's the engine for this race, and with genuine tempo he should be able to keep doing his thing past the post.

2. Armand (No.10) — $3.31 / $1.85
Bet $2.50 Place, return $4.62
Prob 20.2% | Place: 63.5% | Value: 1.08x
Why Great profile to park near the action, and he's got the type of run style that wins sprint Bm races.

3. The Grand Duchy (No.5) — $6.00 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.3% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 1.47x
Why He's a real leader, and the odds are tempting, but we're not forcing place value at this rank.

Roughie: Ode To Beauty (No.9) — $10.00 / $2.70
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.5% | Place: 32.8% | Value: 1.52x
Win path: If the pace melts a touch and the lanes open, she's one of those "sneaky late" types that can jump up.

Race 4 – Men Matter 24th October Hcp (C3)

Race type: C3, 1650m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, Divil A Bit advantaged.

Punty read:

Slow 1650s are a gift to the horses that can sit right off the leaders without getting scrubbed. Detrimental is the likely on-pace threat and could run them along, but Divil A Bit looks like the one with the better tempo-fit, especially with everything lining up for him to travel and then keep rolling. Romantic Bubble is the danger, the sort that can land a big finish if she's not forced to do too much early. Taravia is the price swing if the race tempo stays genuine enough for a mid-runner to get a clean look at the line.

Top 3 + Roughie ($12.00 pool)

1. Divil A Bit (No.3) — $2.01 / $1.62
Bet $12.00 Win, return $24.12
Prob 33.2% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 1.08x
Why He's the pace advantaged one, and slow tempo means he can control without expending his soul. Market support backs the mission.

2. Detrimental (No.1) — $1.51 / $1.25
Bet Tracked
Prob 32.1% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.78x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Romantic Bubble (No.4) — $6.00 / $2.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.9% | Place: 21.7% | Value: 1.54x
Why Big value if she holds form and the gear switch sharpens. But our cash stays tight.

Roughie: Taravia (No.5) — $11.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.5% | Place: 14.0% | Value: 1.33x
Win path: Needs the run to unfold perfectly and the midfield to start dropping away early.

Race 5 – TAB Beaudesert Cup 21 November Hcp (C2)

Race type: Class 2, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, multiple go-forward options.

Punty read:

1200m C2 at Good 4 is a beauty when the leaders don't overcook it. Straight Blast looks like he can hold his position early and then keep finding, but Sequel brings the higher upside because she's the type that keeps rolling through the line with no drama. Barrelling is right in the mix too, and Chicago King is the value stalker if he gets a clean run. Watch for the inside to be a bit sticky, so a horse coming around the correct side with momentum matters.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Sequel (No.8) — $3.50 / $1.45
Bet $10.50 Win, return $36.75
Prob 27.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.29x
Why She's the one with the best blend of speed map and finish, and her run style matches the moderate tempo perfectly. Market support says she's wanted.

2. Straight Blast (No.6) — $2.52 / $1.22
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.69x
Why A real chance — but at $1.22 the place he's not a saver, he's a punt, and that's not a price I insure at. Watching, not betting.

3. Barrelling (No.1) — $3.95 / $1.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.05x
Why Nice map and consistent profile, just not the best payout line at rank 3.

Roughie: Hi Tiago (No.11) — $27.50 / $4.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.9% | Place: 13.1% | Value: 1.06x
Win path: Needs everything to go right and the pace to collapse, then he can run on late like he's late to the party.

Race 6 – Beaudesert Raceday 17 September Hcp (55)

Race type: Restricted 55, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, place-leverage race.

Punty read:

This is the kind of 1400 where the finish is about who stays in their rhythm. Standlee should be hard to pass, but the real punting play is where the place market gives value without needing a miracle. Water Lad looks the better place-and-possibly-win type at the price, and Calvary also offers a solid run at the right time. Southoftheborder is the "smaller chance but worth considering" runner, while the top of the market can get crowded because it's slow early.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Standlee (No.1) — $2.15 / $1.25
Bet $13.00 Win, return $27.95
Prob 28.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.83x
Why He looks like the safest run in the race, and slow tempo suits his ability to come out and keep going.

2. Water Lad (No.2) — $7.20 / $2.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.3% | Place: 38.4% | Value: 1.51x
Why A real chance — but at $2.50 the place he's not a saver, he's a punt, and that's not a price I insure at. Watching, not betting.

3. Calvary (No.3) — $7.95 / $2.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.9% | Place: 54.4% | Value: 1.41x
Why Genuine chance to run top-three if the race stays together early, but we're not overpaying for the place dividend.

Roughie: Southoftheborder (No.6) — $9.15 / $2.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.3% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.17x
Win path: If he gets the right trail and the leaders start to fold, he can sneak into the trifecta.

Race 7 – Beaudesertraceclub.com Hcp (55)

Race type: Restricted 55, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, multiple on-pace threats.

Punty read:

This is a "lanes and leverage" race, because 1400m gives enough time for favourites to get sorted, but not enough for dead-last to catch up unless they find a highway. Exceed Perfection looks like the one to build the run around, and Invisible Target is the key value on the place side, especially if the race doesn't get too savage early. Escape Beach is another one that can go close if he can keep his run clean. Mystical Gem is the rougher who needs the right split and a bit of luck, because at this sort of tempo, she can get held up.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Exceed Perfection (No.1) — $2.89 / $1.45
Bet $13.00 Win, return $37.57
Prob 22.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.86x
Why He's pace aligned enough to keep finding, and at this distance that means less do-or-die late.

2. Invisible Target (No.7) — $5.95 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.9% | Place: 62.5% | Value: 1.34x
Why A real chance — but at $2.15 the place he's not a saver, he's a punt, and that's not a price I insure at. Watching, not betting.

3. Escape Beach (No.4) — $4.80 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.6% | Place: 61.5% | Value: 1.07x
Why He's live for a top-three, but place payout isn't the best angle at this rank.

Roughie: Mystical Gem (No.5) — $11.00 / $3.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.5% | Place: 27.9% | Value: 0.96x
Win path: Needs the right tempo and a gap at the right time, then she can run on over the top.

Race 8 – Home Of Country Racing (Bm60)

Race type: Benchmark 60, 1400m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, but still plenty of midfield pressure.

Punty read:

This is a proper chess match. Lambertina is the one who stands out as the steadier run at the price, while Speed Map is the speed angle and King Cobama is the sort who can run on when the leaders start to get picked at. Fierce Luva is the price-quality runner who can sneak into the top end if the race opens up. Out Of Luck and Mister Selfie are both on the radar, because in 1400m Bm races the finish often turns into a "who's still under control" contest rather than a pure sprint.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Lambertina (No.11) — $5.45 / $2.15
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P), return $35.43 (wins) / $13.97 (places)
Prob 16.3% | Place: 56.7% | Value: 1.20x
Why Big place profile and the run style fits the genuine tempo, so she's not just a hope, she's a plan.

2. Speed Map (No.1) — $4.80 / $1.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.6% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.01x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. King Cobama (No.6) — $7.70 / $2.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.5% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.41x
Why He's got the quality to run top-three, but the place dividend angle isn't perfect on this build.

Roughie: Mister Selfie (No.5) — $10.10 / $3.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.8% | Place: 27.9% | Value: 0.93x
Win path: If the pace softens and he finds clean air late, he can pop into the frame.

NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK

1 - The long races are pace traps, not form tests.
When the tempo is slow in the staying events, "closest to the speed" wins more often than your memory of last start excuses.

2 - Blinkers in maiden races are the real swing.
Race 2 has proper gear switches, so if you're waiting for a horse to "find out," you're already behind. Back the one that's likely to jump and sit.

3 - Place-leverage wins when the win dividend looks ugly.
Race 6 is screaming for place pressure, because the race shape makes top-three runs easier than they look from the prices.

SEQUENCE LANES

EARLY QUADDIE (R1–R4)

Smart: 3,1,6,10 / 12,10,8,13 / 3,10,5,9 / 3,1,4 (192 combos x $0.18 = $34.56) -- 18% flexi
Punty's take: R1 and R3 are tight enough to hold a shape, but R2 and R4 are where you earn your quaddie scar tissue.

QUADDIE (R5–R8)

Smart: 1,6,8 / 1,3,9,6,2 / 1,7,4,5 / 11,1,6,5 (240 combos x $0.21 = $51.20) -- 21% flexi
Punty's take: Four open-ish legs, so it's entertainment with a seatbelt on. Wide enough to respect chaos, tight enough to survive.

BIG 6 (R3–R8)

Smart: 3 / 3 / 8 / 1 / 1 / 11 (1 combos x $2.00 = $2.00) -- 200% flexi
Punty's take: This is basically "back the obvious" in six different bites, high risk, tiny ticket. If it lands, you'll hear fireworks.

FINAL WORD FROM THE SICKO SANCTUARY

Alright legends, today's about respecting the pace and taking the value when it shows its teeth. If your bet gets through the first two races, you can breathe, because then it's all about collecting the right chaos. Gamble Responsibly.
