Goulburn Produce (Bm58)
1600m · BENCHMARK 58 · 14:10
✗ MISS -$2 Final

Race type: BENCHMARK 58, 1600m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Cha Cha Cha controls, Astrogazer/Celestial Grace/Ever Was get pace advantage
Punty read:
Cha Cha Cha is the sort that tries to make the race about itself, and on Soft 7 that can be a weapon if they don't get chewed up by middle splits. Astrogazer is the one I want stalking that leader situation, because even when the results read "meh", the excuse notes say trips went weird. Celestial Grace has the drop-in-everywhere vibes, but she's more likely to need things to happen right in front of her. Bulla Vinaka is the sneaky danger with gear tweaks and a route to running on, especially if the leaders tire a touch earlier than expected.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Astrogazer (No.1) — $4.60 / $1.55 🏆 2ND
Bet $10.50 Each Way ($5.25W + $5.25P) — Cashed, net -$2.36
Prob 23.5% | Place: 61.9% | Value: 1.20x
Why Maps on pace and has the "got hampered" storyline, plus the wet track can bring him back into it late.

2. Celestial Grace (No.2) — $3.50 / $1.45 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.2% | Place: 53.5% | Value: 0.90x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Boujee Gold (No.6) — $4.60 / $1.65 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.8% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.23x
Why Value angle is real, and the closing sections on soft can suit if the pace doesn't go too hard early.

Roughie: Ever Was (No.7) — $20.00 / $3.60 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.3% | Place: 22.3% | Value: 0.87x
Why If the leaders melt and the race turns into a running contest, he can sneak in for a place and pinch it late.

✗ MISS -$13 Final

Race type: MAIDEN, 1600m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Tarzam is the leader, Presumptuous Gal and Ronardo are pace-active
Punty read:
Tarzam looks like the one to ping early, but in maidens at Soft 7, the winner is often the horse that settles, saves energy, then picks up the pieces. In Circles has that steady-into-it profile, and Valiant Dreamer is the other one that can still be dangerous if she finds clear air. Frankie's Boy has a messy excuse and could improve, but I'm mostly respecting the steadier path to midfield and then letting the tempo do the hard work.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. In Circles (No.1) — $3.10 / $1.52 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P) — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 28.0% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.77x
Why Best chance to run the perfect maiden script, keeps getting involved and soft footing suits the way he travels.

2. Valiant Dreamer (No.11) — $4.40 / $1.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.73x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Frankie's Boy (No.2) — $5.50 / $2.00 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.06x
Why The excuse is legit, and if the wide run isn't as bad this time, he can lift late.

Roughie: Red Planet Bar (No.4) — $11.00 / $2.75 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.3% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 2.08x
Why Value hit is massive, and blinkers can sharpen the response, but you're only taking him if the race shape helps the back half.

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: MAIDEN, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, On-pacers sit handy, Maxis Legacy/Nanami/On The Fly are marked as pace-active
Punty read:
This one looks like it could stay honest, and that suits the on-pacers who can hold their ground. Heroes'n'villains is the standout for me, because she's already proving she can be involved early and doesn't look like she needs everything to go right. Hay Deer has the wet-track style and is the obvious place partner. Cape Ex is the third that can still fill in the trifecta if the race doesn't turn into a sprint contest from too far out.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Heroes'n'villains (No.3) — $2.80 / $1.25 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 39.7% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.15x
Why The way this type sits on the speed, and the sections are there, she's built to put her nose in where it matters.

Bet Tracked
Prob 33.9% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.90x

Bet Tracked
Prob 11.8% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.14x

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: MAIDEN, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Too Hot To Handle has the pace advantage profile, Pacifico is the weapon on speed
Punty read:
At 1100m on Soft 7, you either land close or you chase in mud, and chasing costs you metres. Pacifico is the most likely to control her race in this setup, and the price says people believe it too. Low Down is the value for place, and Mayweather brings the speed but has gear changes that say he needs the trip to be smooth. Romancastle can be the "why not" runner if the tempo stays moderate.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Pacifico (No.10) — $3.30 / $1.57 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 44.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.91x
Why She's the one to be on, the pace is there and the short trip on soft is her playground.

Race type: CLASS 1, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, Mindgames and Glenn's Legacy are advantaged types
Punty read:
Slow tempo is when the "good one" can sit just off them and pounce without having to work overtime. Mindgames is the pin, because her style is perfect for Soft 7, where the leaders can look comfy then fade once the ground bites. Glenn's Legacy is the value play for getting a clean run and still having petrol late. Ole Miss is the safe enough runner for a top-three, but the plan is to back the right speed profile first.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Mindgames (No.1) — $1.72 / $1.04 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$10.80
Prob 53.2% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.97x

✓ WON +$16 Final

Race type: BENCHMARK 58, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Must Be Sain and Zoutempus are the ones to watch near the front
Punty read:
This race is built for the horses that can keep their action under them. Chemtrail is the classier roll-forward type and looks ready to take the sting out of the race. Must Be Sain is the danger, because the value sits with him when the leaders jostle. Zoutempus is a lively second line who can still win if the tempo forces mistakes. Drama Dodger is the "don't ignore her run" at a price, but she needs everything to line up.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Chemtrail (No.1) — $2.05 / $1.13 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$15.75
Prob 35.8% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.73x
Why He's on the right side of the map, and on soft sprints the horse that keeps finding can't be ignored.

2. Must Be Sain (No.4) — $3.60 / $1.50 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 30.9% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.70x
Why A real chance — but at $1.50 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Zoutempus (No.3) — $6.50 / $2.05 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.9% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.25x
Why If Chemtrail gets pressed and forced wider, Zoutempus is the one that can keep rolling.

Roughie: Drama Dodger (No.5) — $13.00 / $2.45 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.0% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.98x

Race type: BENCHMARK 58, 1300m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Off Shaw is the deep-pace profile helper, Battle Warrior and Big Opinion active
Punty read:
This 1300m on Soft 7 is where you can see horses lose rhythm. Prince Of Verona is the one I trust to be in the race early without getting too involved, and Big Opinion can still finish over the top if he avoids traffic. Cloud Of Dust is a sneaky place chance if he lands a smooth route and the field strings out. Slay Queen is the roughie you pick when you're chasing a dividend and you're okay with chaos, because the price says she can run a big one if the race opens up.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Prince Of Verona (No.8) — $3.50 / $1.62 🏆 WINNER

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Goulburn on Soft 7 is basically a mud bath with a starting gate, and today's races read like they've been written by drunk Shakespeare. Pace is there, but the wet surface means the wrong trip turns into a horror movie pretty quick. So we're backing the ones that get first crack, and grabbing a couple of "why the fuck is that still running?" value dudes for later.

The track's rail is +3m entire, so if you're getting too close to the fence you want everything to go right. Otherwise, it's a game of positioning, balance, and whether your bloke can see daylight when the sprint portion starts. Think speed vs slop. If a horse maps onto the better run, it'll be hard to pin down late.

My spine today is the Big 3, then we stitch the quaddie lanes like we're doing up a zip on a wet jacket. One leg goes sideways and the whole thing smells like regrets, so we keep it smart, not stupid.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Soft 7, 1100m-1600m card
Rail: +3m Entire
Official going: Soft 7 (expected to play closing into the finish, but with on-pacers still dangerous)
Weather: Mostly sunny, 18°C, humidity 53%, wind 31km/h, watch for gusty conditions and any track holding up under the legs
Early lane guess: Sit handy near the speed early, avoid getting trapped
Tempo profile: Genuine to moderate tempo, with plenty of horses that can keep going if they get a clean run
Jockeys to follow:
Andrew Adkins: Big workhorse today, and he's landing on live chances in the mid-book
Dale Cole: Often takes the shortest path through trouble, great fit for wet-track handling
Ms Alysha Collett: Flies under pressure when the tempo steadies and the race turns into a test
Stables to respect:
G Portelli (3 runners): consistently hits the mark with horses that can handle soft footing and still press forward
Joseph Pride (2 runners): patient types, but when they're ready they're in the fight, especially in maiden land
J Rolfe (5 runners): brings them to the races, and that matters on Soft 7 when most are a bit wobbly

Punty's take:

Race planning at Goulburn today is simple. In Soft 7, the "best horse" isn't always the winner, the "best trip" wins. That means if you're on the speed, you don't have to be brave, just be tidy. The pace map shows genuine leaders in the early stuff, and that gives us an excuse to be aggressive in the lanes that match the map.

Races 4 to 7 are where it gets fun, because that's your Quaddie stretch, and it's full of horses with pace to keep them involved. Pacifico in Race 4, Mindgames in Race 5, Heroes'n'villains in Race 3, then Chemtrail and Zoutempus types in Race 6, and the 1300m Benchmark 58 in Race 7 is a proper grind where the right runner can just keep rolling.

Also, keep an eye on the market movement quirks. When a short-on-paper horse firms hard on a wet track, there's usually a reason connections want their bloke in the race at the right time. We'll back that when the form makes sense.

What it means for you:

Bet like this: attack the races where the winner's route is obvious from barrier and map, then protect your place dividend where it's a Soft 7 fight. That's why my Big 3 spine is short enough to be believable, but mixed across races so you're not relying on one script only.

For the Quaddie lanes, I'm keeping the legs structured. Race 4 is a clear shape, Race 5 is a short-pair style, and Race 6 is a two-horse battle with an extra that can nick a cheque. Race 7 is the chaos leg, so we spread it wider there and don't kid ourselves, it's the one that can bite.

Now let's run the show race-by-race, with your Top 3 and your roughie, and no bullshit.
