Alright legends, Belmont Park today is running like a decent pub playlist, it goes hard early and then changes tempo just when you think you've nailed it. The rail is out at +19m, so you'll want the leaders or horses that can sit closer, because cutting up the track is still a job. On Good 4 with no rain, you can't hide behind "the track ruined it", everyone had the same surface. Speed maps are everything.
My spine is simple. Race 1 has Properata (No.7) written all over it as the on-paper leader in a maiden, but the real fun is that Star Martini is the value angle if the pace holds up like it should. Race 2 is a clear "pick your poison" between Bookends and Flash Dancer, then we flick into Race 3 where the maiden chaos starts, Pucker Up (No.7) sets the bar and Profit Motive (No.12) gives you the place/value angle. By Race 8 and Race 9, it's about keeping the faith in the right stalkers.
What it means for you:
Bets-wise, I'm leaning into Place as the safety blanket today, because a heap of these races have enough pace pressure that the finish will be crowded.
