✗ MISS -$13 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so backmarkers can get a dream run if the leaders drift.
Punty read: This is a "who gets held up, who gets clear" maiden. Cajun (#12) is the market anchor, but the danger is Koyuga Rip (#4) with speed on the map, because a slow pace often turns into a last-600m burst where on-pace runners grab first crack at the finish. Sentaloa (#10) has that sneaky "place gets closer than you think" profile, especially if the race stacks up behind the leaders.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Cajun (No.12) — $3.40 / $1.60 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $13.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 25.6% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.19x
Why The pace map helps her settle, and the market's treating her like she's got a real ticket punch in her legs.

2. Sentaloa (No.10) — $4.50 / $1.80 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.34x
Why A real chance — but at $1.80 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Koyuga Rip (No.4) — $4.50 / $1.80 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.9% | Place: 64.5% | Value: 1.19x
Why On-pace in a slow race is powerful, but this maiden still needs a touch of luck, and I'm letting Cajun and Sentaloa hold the heavy lifting.

Roughie: I'lberidin'shotgun (No.1) — $9.50 / $2.85 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.8% | Place: 26.8% | Value: 0.82x
Why If the speed collapses and she finds clear running, she can be part of the "how did that happen?" finish, but she's not the base plan.

✓ WON +$12 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1500m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so the on-pacers get first run but the front won't be sprinting all the way.
Punty read: Written Empire (#8) is the standout for a reason. With the pace map favouring the lead-in types, that inside/on-pacer role can turn into a "run straight, hit the front at the right moment" job. Passio (#5) looks like the classic danger if the race doesn't kick early enough. Murshidi (#4) and Gilgeous (#2) are there for the trappy runs, but if the market favourite lands the trip, they're chasing.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Written Empire (No.8) — $1.90 / $1.12 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$11.70
Prob 47.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.15x
Why He's already screaming class for this level, and slow-mid tempo suits his ability to keep finding.

2. Passio (No.5) — $4.80 / $1.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.1% | Place: 65.9% | Value: 0.70x
Why A real chance — but at $1.70 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Murshidi (No.4) — $7.80 / $1.80 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.9% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.66x
Why Blinkers first time can lift them, but I'm not overcommitting.

Roughie: Gilgeous (No.2) — $9.00 / $2.55 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.8% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.74x
Why Backmarkers need a gap that appears on schedule, and sometimes that schedule is "never".

✗ MISS -$0 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so the favourite can steal it if she gets the right lane without traffic drama.
Punty read: Classic Gem (#2) is the one. She's the class edge and she's got the speed picture set to make her hard to run down. Novamira (#12) is the value-looking threat, because she's priced like a roughie even though her place chances are real. Teen Torque (#14) can sneak into the finish if the leaders get too comfortable and she finds clear running.

Top 3 + Roughie ($18.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Classic Gem (No.2) — $1.37 / $1.04 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$4.81
Prob 54.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.18x
Why The speed and class combo wins more often than people want to admit, especially when tempo stays soft.

2. Novamira (No.12) — $9.00 / $2.55 🏆 4TH
Bet $5.00 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$5.00
Prob 16.2% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.11x
Why She's live for a slice, but the win value is close enough that I'll let her be a cover, not a commitment.

3. Teen Torque (No.14) — $11.00 / $2.50 🏆 9TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.0% | Place: 42.3% | Value: 1.01x
Why She can fill a role late if the pace fractures, but she's not my first turn-to-the-book call.

Roughie: Clux Star (No.3) — $11.00 / $2.70 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.2% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 0.51x
Why Roughie roulette, if you get the gap and she sustains, then it's a fun day, but I'm not betting on miracles.

✓ WON +$14 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Slow-ish early, sprint finish, so the one that settles and strikes straight gets paid.
Punty read: Saturn Sky (#6) is a straight-up bet at this level. The short price is earned because in a 1000m maiden, the "can win from the front end" types are gold. Miss Dividend (#10) is the danger for the exacta type, while Dimachaerus (#1) is the sort that can sneak in if the favourite has traffic. Five Knights (#9) is on notice as a roughie, but it's still a tough ask.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Saturn Sky (No.6) — $1.95 / $1.05 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$14.25
Prob 56.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.00x
Why In sprints, you want speed and you want it early, and this one fits the race shape.

2. Miss Dividend (No.10) — $16.00 / $2.80 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 22.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.10x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Dimachaerus (No.1) — $7.00 / $2.45 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.5% | Place: 28.5% | Value: 0.88x
Why Could get a look late, but I'd need a miracle run for a win.

Roughie: Five Knights (No.9) — $23.00 / $4.50 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.4% | Place: 12.2% | Value: 0.57x
Why Big drift chances, and with it being thin for places, you're basically betting for a headline.

✗ MISS -$4 Final

Race type: BM62, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace on, so it's a speed race with pressure from the jump.
Punty read: This is Iced Poppy (#2) vs Farakta (#8) with Tapo (#1) sitting there like the annoying mate who always finishes right there. With real pace, you want horses that can handle pressure and keep coming, not ones that need a dream run. Farakta's short price says she can win, but Iced Poppy's the one I like to strike while they're still tiring, because her recent look at the track has been competitive.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.50 pool)

1. Farakta (No.8) — $4.50 / $1.85 🏆 3RD
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 27.2% | Place: 65.3% | Value: 0.83x
Why Midfield presence with a real turn of foot, and in a pacey 1100, that matters.

2. Iced Poppy (No.2) — $6.50 / $2.40 🏆 WINNER
Bet $5.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$7.00
Prob 25.2% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.40x
Why Value looks good, but she's not the main win pillar for me at this outlay.

3. Tapo (No.1) — $6.40 / $1.90 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.3% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.95x
Why Likely in it, but the price and weight bounce make me wary.

Roughie: No Overtaking (No.9) — $9.60 / $2.50 🏆 8TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.3% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.31x
Why Backmarkers can still hit the frame in fast tempo, and she has the profile to swoop if a gap opens.

R6
Evergreen Turf Hcp (C1)
1300m · Class 1 · 16:20
✓ WON +$22 Final

Race type: Class 1, 1300m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, so it's about sitting right, not doing hero work too early.
Punty read: Bella Verona (#3) is the main chess piece. The tempo and pace advantage line up, and she's the type that gets through the gears without needing the field to fall apart. Hydrothermal (#7) is the biggest challenger for the minor money and potentially the win if the favourite gets pressured. Justique (#6) is a swing runner if the race turns into a sprint battle at the 600m.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Bella Verona (No.3) — $2.70 / $1.22 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$22.10
Prob 50.2% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.09x
Why She maps to sit in the right lane and the field shape won't suit wide chaos too much.

2. Hydrothermal (No.7) — $6.50 / $1.90 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.03x
Why A real chance — but at $1.90 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Justique (No.6) — $9.50 / $2.40 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.8% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 0.88x
Why Gear can help, but I'm not taking odds drift risk.

Roughie: Mister Martini (No.4) — $15.00 / $3.10 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.6% | Place: 36.0% | Value: 1.00x
Why Needs everything to go right, but if it does, it's the kind of late run that makes you yell at the telly.

✓ WON +$32 Final

Race type: BM66, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, so it's about getting the stalking spot and timing the kick.
Punty read: This is a sneaky "you thought it'd be easy, didn't you?" race. Our Justify (#14) is the pick for a reason, but the real threat is that race shape could reward a runner that's closer than expected. Mount Sabyinyo (#6) has the on-pace profile and can get first use of a tiring pack. Brutalina (#8) is the value swing horse if the leaders sprint too hard and the back half comes alive.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Our Justify (No.14) — $3.50 / $1.62 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$32.50
Prob 22.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.83x
Why The race should suit her style, and that price is workable if she gets an easy-ish run.

2. Mount Sabyinyo (No.6) — $4.80 / $1.95 🏆 7TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.9% | Place: 55.6% | Value: 0.96x
Why A real chance — but at $1.95 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Brutalina (No.8) — $8.50 / $2.75 🏆 10TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.4% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.36x
Why When the pace sets up, she's built for it, and the odds say she's underrated.

Roughie: Materazzi (No.11) — $21.00 / $4.40 🏆 9TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.3% | Place: 17.3% | Value: 1.16x
Why Needs the right run from midfield, but if the leaders wobble, she's the type that can sneak into the quinella party.

✗ MISS -$13 Final

Race type: BM66, 1600m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo, open race, so you're chasing the runner who finds the right lane in the last 400m.
Punty read: This one is chaos-themed for a reason. Yahoo Bar (#3) is the top pick because she's got the best blend of staying power and tactical flexibility. Navy Heart (#8) is the perfect "place pressure" runner, and Terrortorian (#9) is the favourite-looking wild card that can absolutely nick a spot if luck goes his way. Ostrica (#15) is the roughie value, and if the leaders hesitate at all, she can rip home like a late-night action scene.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Yahoo Bar (No.3) — $7.50 / $2.65 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P) — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 19.3% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.80x
Why She's got the tempo fitness and the running style to capitalise if the field stretches in the straight.

2. Navy Heart (No.8) — $9.00 / $3.00 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.3% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.22x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Terrortorian (No.9) — $2.74 / $1.40 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.0% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 0.34x
Why Looks dangerous but doesn't give me enough value at that price for the win pool.

Roughie: Ostrica (No.15) — $11.00 / $3.10 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.7% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 1.60x
Why She can run the right race if the tempo stays honest and the straight gap appears.

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Bendigo's running Good 4 but with that wind snapping around like it's trying to punch your ticket straight out of your hand, so you want the races with real speed, real shape, and a couple of "why not?" value bullets for when the field stretches.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Good 4, 8 race card
Rail: True Entire Circuit
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play speed-and-stamina, not pure kickers)
Weather: Windy. Sunny, 22°C, humidity 31%, wind 46km/h N (watch for gusty finishers getting blown about)
Early lane guess: Leaders and near-leaders holding the advantage early
Tempo profile: Slow-to-moderate early heat, then the pace usually finds a rhythm late
Jockeys to follow:
Thomas Stockdale: sharp on the clock with sectionals, and he seems to get them into the action at the right time.
Lachlan King: shows up when the market wants a clean run, tends to steer straight lines through chaos.
Craig Williams: dangerous when something's priced up, because he knows exactly when to ask.
Stables to respect:
M M Laurie (5 runners): consistent Bendigo types, often find their spot in the running.
M Price & M Kent Jnr (4 runners): they've got a knack for placing horses near the right pace, not parked in no mans land.
C J Davis (2 runners): when they target a class 1 type, the horse usually isn't there for a photo.

Punty's take:

Bendigo today feels like the kind of track where the wind can turn a comfy run into a sprint for your life in the straight. With the rail true, you're chasing horses that either map to be handy early, or have the late dash to make up ground when the tempo lifts. The big story across the day is the "shape" races, where speed bias matters, and the "maze" races where wide runners can still swoop if the leaders aren't stacking it.

I'm going to anchor my day with the Big 3 multi spine, because three winners at short-ish prices is how you stop the quaddie gremlins from eating your bankroll. Then I'll sprinkle in a few roughies where the market's made a mistake, or where gear changes and excuses line up into a bounce-back.

What it means for you:

Aggressive when the race setup looks clean, passive when it looks like a tactical knife fight. Early on, I'm happy to back the horses that get position without needing to win the race at the first turn. Later, when fields open up, I'm using the roughie to cover the "one of these things is not like the others" scenario.

If you're trying to play a single quaddie lane, go balanced. If you're chasing a bigger hit, go wide in the open legs, but keep the tight legs tight, because the quaddie punishes mistakes like it's got a grudge. Get your money onto the speed where it matters, and let the chaos races pay for your sins.
