✗ MISS -$12 Final

Race type: BenchMark 58+, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, on-pace types holding the advantage, keys look like the speed lanes near the front
Punty read:
This is a "who can get a comfortable run" race. Prince Epaulette (No.2) has speed to slot in and the market's treating him like the one with the clean path. If he gets cover behind the true leaders, he'll be hard to run down, because at Good 4 with a wet edge coming, the horses that travel are the ones that finish.

The danger is Lieutenant Dunbar (No.4). He's on-pace too, and with the right run through, he can take the race by the scruff late. Tango Rhythm (No.5) is the other that fits the "not far off, then let down" script.
Keytrade (No.3) is the roughie, but this looks like it needs the race to fall apart early, or for something to block up.

Top 3 + Roughie ($12.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Prince Epaulette (No.2) — $2.55 / $1.52 🏆 2ND
Bet $12.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$12.00
Prob 38.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.16x
Why Speed to hold the right positions and he's the favourite doing the right things in the early part of the race.

2. Lieutenant Dunbar (No.4) — $2.75 / $1.57 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.8% | Place: 38.7% | Value: 0.89x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Tango Rhythm (No.5) — $4.00 / $1.95 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.8% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.03x
Why Could run a smart race if the tempo holds, but this doesn't look like the spot to overextend.

Roughie: Keytrade (No.3) — $10.00 / $3.50 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.1% | Place: 19.9% | Value: 1.10x
Why Big price, but his race needs a heap to go wrong for the on-pacers and front half.

✗ MISS -$3 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, on-pace types get a big say, and the draw is huge
Punty read:
Maiden at 1400 on a day like this is basically a puzzle box. Beston Street (No.2) and Beaumont Miss (No.8) look like they're built for the tempo. With slow pace, you want either the horse that can hold the position or the one that can cruise early without being asked.

Beston Street's gear changes are the sort you notice, plus the form shows she's been around the mark, even when trips haven't been perfect. Beaumont Miss is the other main threat, and she's the one who can run home on even terms if she breaks clean.
I'm keeping Dancing Spirit and Black Irish as "could be sneaky" types, but if you want to land this, the race is about the on-pacers and position.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Beston Street (No.2) — $3.30 / $1.45 🏆 3RD
Bet $10.00 Each Way ($5.00W + $5.00P) — Cashed, net -$2.75
Prob 38.3% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.12x
Why Slow tempo suits, and she's set up to be in the right lane early, then grind through the finish.

2. Beaumont Miss (No.8) — $2.05 / $1.15 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 37.4% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.13x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Dancing Spirit (No.7) — $9.30 / $2.25 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.2% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.58x
Why Long odds for this setup, not enough to justify adding another saver.

Roughie: Black Irish (No.3) — $13.00 / $2.65 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.6% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 0.66x
Why Needs a big improvement leap, and maiden chaos can be cruel.

✓ WON +$25 Final

Race type: Class 2, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, pace-advantaged runners get a cleaner run into the finish
Punty read:
This is a classic 1400 class race where the leaders don't have to sprint, they just have to keep rolling. Hyperreal (No.2) looks like the one who gets the dream trip, sit in the mix, then hit the straps when the real fight starts.

Magic Carats (No.4) is a danger because he's got the form to creep closer late. Dutch Por (No.1) can run into the money if the race stays calm. But for my money, Hyperreal is the one that looks most "complete" for this track profile right now, especially if there's any wet-patch holding.

Top 3 + Roughie ($12.00 pool)

1. Hyperreal (No.2) — $3.10 / $1.32 🏆 WINNER
Bet $12.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$25.20
Prob 34.2% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.01x
Why Slow tempo hands him the stalking trip, and he's built to pick off runners in the run home.

2. Magic Carats (No.4) — $3.85 / $1.85 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 22.8% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 1.07x

Race type: Maiden, 1100m
Map & tempo: Sprint, on-pace types get first crack, gear changes could swing it
Punty read:
1100 maidens are basically coin flips with sprinkles. But we can still read the map. This race is screaming for Aldezor (No.2) as the one who has the best chance to do the right thing early and hold it together late.

Diamas (No.7) is the value angle, because if he brings the right dash, he can nail the finish. Summer Mood (No.6) is also in the mix if the track plays a bit "grippy" and they can keep rolling.
Then you've got The Nutty Nurse (No.9) as the roughie where everything needs to line up. But that's racing, you don't complain when it's chaos, you ride it.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.00 pool)

1. Aldezor (No.2) — $3.40 / $1.60 🏆 WINNER
Bet $10.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$24.00
Prob 20.7% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.80x
Why Drawn to attack the race, and the setup points to him being hard to run down in the straight sprint.

2. Diamas (No.7) — $5.00 / $1.82 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.33x

Bet Tracked
Prob 13.0% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.82x

Bet Tracked
Prob 4.9% | Place: 22.3% | Value: 1.52x

Race type: Class 1 Handicap, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, open-ish with multiple finishers and pace doesn't dominate
Punty read:
Race 5 is that "everyone thinks they've got a chance" sort of contest. The wet risk can make 1200s boil down to who can keep their momentum over the last 200.

The call is Weaponize (No.10) as the each-way play. He's got the kind of profile where, if the race doesn't rocket early, he can sit in the right part of the run and then grab a slice late. Ellovaman (No.9) is the other danger, plus Blood Saint (No.1) can absolutely sneak into the money if the tempo stays manageable.

Diver Dan is the market favourite, but with this being chaos-mixed and the rain sniffing around, I'd rather bet the value route.

Top 3 + Roughie ($7.00 pool)

1. Weaponize (No.10) — $5.00 / $1.90 🏆 UNPLACED

Punty read:
This is where you want a horse that can stay switched-on while the pressure rises. Gold Keeper (No.3) profiles as the one who can handle the pace and keep showing up late. With 1100 and real tempo, if you're too far back you're doing your own gym session.

Snippy Sean (No.8) is the place leverage type, and Onemoretwomany (No.2) can absolutely capitalise if the race doesn't run away from him. Oracle Son (No.7) is the roughie, he's the one that could pop into the frame if the leaders get a little too involved, like a movie villain gloating at the wrong time.

Race 7 is about staying in contact and then finishing with conviction. In Situ (No.2) is the market anchor and it makes sense. If he can sit right up where the race is being run, he should give you that "he's coming" feeling in the straight.

Leonardo Da Grey (No.6) is a genuine danger with the blinkers off and a clean lane threat. Yapper (No.7) is the value wild card, he can run into it if they don't overly burn each other early.

And Smart Return (No.10) is your roughie where he needs a perfect run and the leaders to do a little bit of work for him. That's what makes it fun, even if it's frustrating.

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Geraldton on a Good 4 with the sky doing its best impression of a leaky roof, and that's where the lanes go weird and the favourites sweat it out early. If you like your racing with a bit of spice, you're in the right joint. If you hate getting stung, crack open a water and pick your spots, because this card's got a few straight-up traps.

7 races. 64 runners. 6 scratchings. So yeah, plenty of chaos. The tempo across the day is mostly moderate to slow, which means the speed isn't a conveyor belt, it's more like a dodgy escalator. If you're on the wrong part of it, you'll pay for it late.

Bets-wise, I'm building a spine that feels like it should survive contact with the real world: Prince Epaulette in Race 1, Hyperreal in Race 3, and Beston Street in Race 2. Then I'm sprinkling in value where it actually looks value, not where it just sounds pretty on a spreadsheet.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Geraldton, 1400m-1100m card
Rail: +1m Entire
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play True, with rain risk making it a bit more "hold-up friendly")
Weather: Showers, 16C, humid, wind SSW, with rain risk up around the early windows (watch for wet patches and mid-race holds)
Early lane guess: Short early lanes up the straight, but watch the outside runners in bigger fields as the track gets sticky
Tempo profile: Generally moderate to slow, so the lead is important, but the real danger is being stuck a length too far back in the run
Jockeys to follow:
Jason Li: Gets them where they need to be, he's good when the race shapes up for position.
Madi Derrick: Likes working through trafficy bits, handy on horses that sit handy and pounce.
Troy Turner: Calm in the pressure moments, particularly when there's pace on and they can slot in.
Stables to respect:
A W Maley (many runners): They keep landing the small moments, and when the market moves, they're usually not guessing.
G W Dupre (multiple runners): Their runners show up fit, and when speed is around they've got a go.
R K Cowl (multiple runners): If the race is sprinty and the map looks right, they're often the ones swooping late.

Punty's take:

This track is Good 4 right now, but with showers rolling through, you can get that "slick for the first 300, then it turns into a trampoline" vibe. That usually rewards horses that either lead comfortably, or get a clean run to the finish. You don't want to be doing the hard yards in the muck if you can help it.

Race 1 sets up as the sort of benchmark where the map matters. Prince Epaulette is the market favourite for a reason, but the key is he doesn't need a miracle, he just needs to settle and keep breathing. Around him, Lieutenant Dunbar and Tango Rhythm are the types that can be in the right spot without doing anything flashy early.

Then in Race 3, Hyperreal is the anchor. The pace is slow-ish, so a horse like that can stalk and pounce, and if the track is holding a bit of moisture underfoot, those mid-race runs can turn into finish-line knockouts. After that? Race 4 and 5 are your entertainment districts, where you either back value or you watch everyone else have fun.

What it means for you:

My game plan is simple. Race 1, Race 2, Race 3 are the "spine" races, I want at least one win across that trio. The rest of the card is where you manage risk. I'm not trying to win the whole meeting with one punch, I'm trying to survive the chaos and still be alive when the good bits hit.

So, be aggressive where the racing story makes sense, and be picky where the fields are open. If you're playing exotics, Race 4 to Race 7 is where you'll get your value shapes, but it's also where the miss can happen if one horse gets shuffled or doesn't get the run. Keep your tickets sensible, and if the rain ramps up late, trust your horses that can still travel when the grip turns.
