Today's card is built for one of those afternoons where the on-paces do the heavy lifting, but the right value snags can still run over the top when everyone's staring at the obvious. Gunnedah's the sort of track where if you're not on the right part of the speed map, you're paying a tax all the way down the straight. That means in the sprinty ones, you want either the horse that leads, or the horse that stalks close enough to pounce. Race 3 and Race 5 scream that.
There's also a pattern today, the market is backing a few horses pretty hard, and the gear changes are lining up with the intent. In particular, look at the maidens and the short-course races where the "first piece of gear" or "second-up shape" can tighten a horse right up. Punters will overthink it, because it's Gunnedah and people get bored. I'm not bored, I'm greedy.
