Punty's Punts
Race type: Maiden Plate, 1200m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, with Magnum flagged as pace-advantaged but backmarkers could get a crack late
Punty read: This is one of those Hamilton 1200m maidens where the "nice and clean" rides can get stuffed by soft-ground timing. I'm siding with No.7 Japanese Moka because it's the class of the line that can actually use the conditions, not fear them. The other ones might be dangerous too, but the race feels like it wants a horse that's quick enough to get into the action and tough enough to keep responding when the ground turns from sponge to wrestling mat.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Japanese Moka (No.7) — $4.50 / $1.80 🏆 2ND
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 24.6% | Place: 67.6% | Value: 0.98x
Why First-time winkers can sharpen the focus on debut, and with a slow tempo it doesn't need to sprint from the clouds.
2. Quynh (No.9) — $4.20 / $1.72 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.7% | Place: 50.0% | Value: 0.65x
Why A real chance — but at $1.72 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. High Falls (No.6) — $4.00 / $1.60 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.5% | Place: 56.0% | Value: 1.04x
Why Got the value angle, but I'm not forcing the issue in a debut-style maiden where luck is loud.
Roughie: Dun Dirt Sweet (No.4) — $12.25 / $2.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.7% | Place: 25.2% | Value: 1.36x
Race type: Maiden Plate, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, Weasel Sea pace profile front and centre, Extreme Turbo another key on-pace runner
Punty read: This one's a proper wet-sprint test. In Soft, the leaders often look sharp until the turn for home, then the rhythm gets ugly. That's why I'm on No.5 Weasel Sea. If it can keep decent footing early and stay on the bridle, it can keep finding the line in a race where a lot of them will start wheezing with 100m to go.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Weasel Sea (No.5) — $2.10 / $1.20 🏆 2ND
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 34.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.81x
Why Best suited to the pace setup, and Soft ground usually rewards a runner that can keep rolling without breaking stride.
2. Extreme Turbo (No.12) — $4.60 / $1.75 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.99x

Bet Tracked
Prob 10.9% | Place: 48.9% | Value: 1.24x
Why Value is real, but the win case needs the race to fall its way.

Bet Tracked
Prob 6.2% | Place: 28.5% | Value: 1.22x
Race type: Maiden Plate, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, Asal and Piklemegranmother look like they can keep building while others wobble
Punty read: 1400m on Soft is where horses either start to sustain, or they start to simmer. I'm rolling No.1 Asal as the lead role because it's got that "keeps going when asked" vibe. It's not about winning with fireworks, it's about staying balanced, finding a pocket, then sprinting out of it like it's late to its own party.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Asal (No.1) — $3.30 / $1.50 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$29.90
Prob 39.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.16x
Why Gelded and ready to lock in early, Soft ground suits horses that don't overexert in the first half.
2. Piklemegranmother (No.11) — $4.70 / $1.65 🏆 2ND

Bet Tracked
Prob 3.7% | Place: 17.7% | Value: 0.66x
Race type: Maiden Plate, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, Just My Lot advantaged, Pitman and Pete The Prophet likely to be chasing into the frame
Punty read: This is the kind of race where jockeys do their best work, because it's all about timing, not raw speed. No.10 Just My Lot is the horse I want when the tempo is slow and the field is bunched, because it should get a clean run into the closing stages instead of getting caught in mud spaghetti. When they hit the line, I want a horse that's still got a gear left, not one that's coasting on vibes.
Top 3 + Roughie ($18.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Just My Lot (No.10) — $2.30 / $1.25 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$16.90
Prob 53.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.22x
Why Dominates the map for a slow 1600, and it's the one I expect to stick around when others fade.
2. Pitman (No.6) — $11.00 / $3.10 🏆 4TH
Bet $5.00 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$5.00
Prob 12.1% | Place: 62.5% | Value: 1.27x
Why Value screams a bit, but I'm not chasing dividends in a race where the main lane is strong.
3. Pete The Prophet (No.5) — $7.00 / $1.85 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.3% | Place: 52.3% | Value: 0.60x
Why Could run into the placings, but I'm not paying for a wide dream.
Roughie: Tamwood (No.8) — $11.00 / $2.65 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.2% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 0.79x
Race type: BM56, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, Queen Amanjena and Cute Girl look like they've got the engine, designs of eight maybe can squeeze in
Punty read: BM56 on Soft at 1600m is always a tricky one, because the tempo can be slow enough to gift a mid-field "easy run", then the track makes everyone pay late. I'm backing No.7 Queen Amanjena because it's the best blend of talent and ability to keep going without needing the race to be perfect. If it's close enough turning for home, it'll do what Queens do, and make the rest fight for crumbs.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Queen Amanjena (No.7) — $4.20 / $1.70 🏆 2ND
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 32.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.97x
Why Best on the speed profile for this slow tempo, and Soft doesn't erase its edge like it does lesser types.
2. Cute Girl (No.4) — $5.10 / $1.65 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.0% | Place: 55.8% | Value: 1.44x
Why A real chance — but at $1.65 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

Bet Tracked
Prob 16.8% | Place: 65.5% | Value: 0.83x
Why Might run a part of the race, but I don't think it holds up as the main danger.
Roughie: Bell's Bighouse (No.3) — $10.00 / $2.80 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.2% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 1.08x
Race type: BM56, 2200m
Map & tempo: Pace slow, but the staying stocks should sort themselves late, Hoodys Horse and Prince Of Byron are the key battlers
Punty read: At 2200m on Soft, you're backing the horse that can keep its legs under it when the others start looking like they're walking through wet cement. No.4 Prince Of Byron is my pick because it lines up with the kind of consistent profile you want at this distance. It's not all fireworks, it's grind, and it should still be there when the race finally decides it's done being polite.
Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)
1. Prince Of Byron (No.4) — $3.50 / $1.62 🏆 2ND
Bet $7.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$7.50
Prob 30.7% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.81x
Why Map and staying conditions set it up to run through the line, not just arrive for the show.
2. Hoodys Horse (No.1) — $4.50 / $1.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 29.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.36x

3. Highland Glory (No.7) — $7.00 / $1.90 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.1% | Place: 50.9% | Value: 1.09x
Why Keep it in mind for a place flyer, but I'm not swapping the spine.
Roughie: Kawhia (No.9) — $26.00 / $4.00 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.5% | Place: 12.2% | Value: 0.79x
Race type: BM56, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, Kentahten and Packers Journey can both be prominent, Simply Sassy and Thaimor are the stalking threats
Punty read: This is a sprint where the track can turn a clean run into a bog hunt in 20 seconds. Chaos Handicap means you'll get either a smart winner or a complete lunatic, and we're betting on the smart option. No.1 Kentahten is the one I want because it ticks the boxes for pace proximity and being able to stick on when the others get shuffled. If the leaders go hard early, Kentahten should still be there in the last 150m, not doing a disappearing act.
Top 3 + Roughie ($20.00 pool)
1. Kentahten (No.1) — $7.00 / $2.50 🏆 3RD
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 20.7% | Place: 55.7% | Value: 1.51x
Why Wet-sprint profile suits, and it's got the best chance of being in the finish rather than just watching.
2. Packers Journey (No.2) — $5.00 / $2.00 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $5.00 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$5.00
Prob 20.2% | Place: 68.9% | Value: 1.08x
Why Could be right there, but Kentahten is the value lane today.
3. Simply Sassy (No.12) — $5.00 / $1.90 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.97x
Why Solid threat, but the price does not make it worth dragging the multi risk around.

Bet Tracked
Prob 6.8% | Place: 28.5% | Value: 1.16x
Race type: BM56, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, Racey Casey and Share The Stars look the main place-potential types with Brroosha lurking
Punty read: 1400m on Soft, and you're always one stumble away from your plan getting punted into the bin. No.10 Racey Casey is my bet because it should get a good run and has the right profile to keep plugging. It's the sort of horse that can get you out of trouble when the finish turns into a scrum, because it doesn't need a dream gap to run well.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

Bet $10.50 Win — ✓ Won, net +$30.45
Prob 27.3% | Place: 68.3% | Value: 1.11x
Why Pace suits, and on this Soft 6 it should keep responding when others start to stall.

Bet Tracked
Prob 20.7% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.90x

Punty's Early Mail
Rightio Loose Units, Hamilton on a Soft 6 with showers stacking up like Easter eggs getting stolen. This is one of those cards where you can earn your keep by backing the right runner at the right bit of the track, because the middle of the race is gonna get messy. I like speed that survives, and I LOVE when the market forgets how hard soft ground makes even decent horses look ordinary.
We've got a super clear Big 3 spine, and it's anchored by horses that should be in the fight early, not locked in a TikTok time capsule near the tail. Races 2, 3, and 4 are the "set the alarm" acts. After that, you can either cover with your head, or get brave with your heart. Up to you, legends.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Soft 6, 1100m-2200m card
Rail: True Entire Circuit
Official going: Soft 6 (expected to play Wet-Tracker Chaos, with pace still holding hands)
Weather: Showers increasing, 16°C, wind 19km/h WNW (watch for Rain risk, late track-change vibes)
Early lane guess: On-pace lanes, with snipers from backmarker territory if the speed stutters
Tempo profile: Slowish but not polite, Soft ground tends to bunch them up, then it turns into a war of attrition
Jockeys to follow:
Toby Atkinson: Gets into the race, not just around it. Keep him pinned for the place money late.
Cian MacRedmond: When there's juice on the track, he's one of the lads who tends to bring it home.
Brad Rawiller: If the tempo suits, he'll be there in the last straight yelling "mine".
Stables to respect:
M M Laurie (3 runners): Wet-track friendly profiles, and they're not shy about debut gear or first-time winker moves.
Jason Warren (1 runner): When he targets a race with the right map, his horses go from "meh" to "here we go" pretty quickly.
Ricky & Kristy Bruhn (2 runners): Keep an eye on their newcomers, because gear first-up on Soft can be a signal, not a random.
Punty's take: This card smells like the kind of meeting where the front half matters early, and the finish is where you pay for being asleep. Hamilton Soft ground turns races into a grind, so I want horses that either (1) sit in range early, or (2) are built to swoop if the leaders start dropping cobwebs.
Race 1 is a maiden plate where the tempo should be slow, which means the "wrong place" can get punished hard. I'm landing on No.7 Japanese Moka because it's the kind of debut setup that can land in the right part of the race and kick through mud without needing a perfect ride. If it drifts like a Netflix trailer, it'll still run.
Race 2 is the classic sprint chaos where the on-pacers look dangerous until the track steals their knees. I'm backing No.5 Weasel Sea as the main anchor, and if the race goes sideways, it'll still be hanging around that place spot like it owes it money.
Then you hit Race 3 and 4, and that's where my night gets planned. Asal in Race 3 is the "showing up, even when it's wet" type. And Race 4, Just My Lot, is the banker-ish play of the whole meeting, because it's got the right sort of profile for a slow 1600 where everything is decided late but in the same lane.
