Punty's Punts
Race type: Maiden, 1450m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, Levent is out there early, the wind helps runners finish their races
Punty read: This is the "leaders go hard, everyone else lives at the finish" setup. Levent (No.13) is likely to take the race by the throat, and that's when mid pack runners start looking like geniuses. But I still want Refuse To Curtsy (No.9) because the excuses from her last runs scream "wasn't finishing clean", and today she's at the right odds to be the one who sneaks up and hits the line.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Refuse To Curtsy (No.9) — $4.50 / $1.90 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$45.50
Prob 39.3% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.26x
Why She's shown she can cope with adversity, and the race tempo suits a runner who can get a clear crack late.
2. Magnum (No.11) — $5.30 / $1.82 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.85x
Why A real chance — but at $1.82 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Levent (No.13) — $7.60 / $2.35 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.4% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.34x
Why He can lead into it and keep grinding, but I'm not paying for the ticket when the safer value route is win on No.9.
Roughie: Bloomin' Rich (No.1) — $15.00 / $3.50 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.4% | Place: 23.2% | Value: 0.64x
Race type: Maiden, 1450m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, Roll With It is the pace advancer, Skydream can show up early pressure
Punty read: In a slow maiden, the shortest route is through the braver timing. Anglais (No.9) looks like the kind of back-marker who turns it into a sprint home when the pack finally moves. Skydream (No.8) is the other main gear and pace story, and Girt By Sea (No.5) is there for the danger if they crawl early and he gets first run into the finish.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Anglais (No.9) — $2.35 / $1.32 🏆 3RD
Bet $13.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 41.5% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.17x
Why The speed is there, the race is slow enough for him to use it, and he's the classic "hits the line harder than the field expects" type.
2. Skydream (No.8) — $3.00 / $1.50 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 32.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.22x
Why A real chance — but at $1.50 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Girt By Sea (No.5) — $9.50 / $2.25 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.04x
Why Needs things to fall right, and you don't get extra credit for hope.
Roughie: Galactic Girl (No.4) — $10.00 / $3.00 🏆 9TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.4% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 0.60x
Why If she makes it, it's via a miracle trip, and today my cash wants less theatre.
Race type: Maiden, 1200m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, short sprint where timing and straight-line dash decides it
Punty read: This is why short-course maidens are savage. One good acceleration and you're in trouble, one wrong stumble and you're just clapping from the back row. Star Of Macedon (No.14) is the money horse because he's the cleanest "proper runner" profile. Jourama (No.11) is the obvious second string, and Interrogate (No.3) is the kind who can be there when everyone else is mixing gears.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Star Of Macedon (No.14) — $1.82 / $1.20 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$12.30
Prob 57.4% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.28x
Why He's built for a quick dash, and at this price you back the one who can put rivals under pressure early.
2. Jourama (No.11) — $6.00 / $2.25 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.6% | Place: 50.6% | Value: 0.41x

3. Interrogate (No.3) — $9.50 / $3.10 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.6% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.64x
Why Could grab a slice if the speed goes soft, but win is a tall ask.
Roughie: Angelista (No.16) — $9.80 / $2.40 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.7% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.24x
Why She's got a path, but I don't want to run my day on "might".
Race type: Maiden, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, close turn of foot in a short sprint
Punty read: This race is all about who gets to the front end and who can keep running without getting bullied. It's got that "early pressure, then quick fade or quick fight" feel. He's On Point (No.12) has the right profile for a straight out win shot here, Soho Miss (No.14) is a real danger if the race bunches, and Weasel Sea (No.6) is the grinder type who can sneak into the top end.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. He's On Point (No.12) — $6.00 / $2.25 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$75.00
Prob 27.3% | Place: 61.5% | Value: 1.00x
Why He's got the tempo alignment, and in a genuine 1100 you need a runner who can take the race all the way.
2. Soho Miss (No.14) — $6.50 / $2.40 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.4% | Place: 53.3% | Value: 1.01x
Why A real chance — but at $2.40 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Weasel Sea (No.6) — $4.80 / $1.62 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.72x
Why Needs the right trip, and at this price the value is thin.
Roughie: Set Boom (No.4) — $34.00 / $4.40 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.1% | Place: 9.8% | Value: 0.99x
Why If the inside chaos hits, she's the one that can jump up and grab a cheque.
Race type: Class 1 handicap, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, short sprint where the leaders steal percentages
Punty read: This is about position and sprint bravery. Royal Rendezvous (No.2) looks like the horse who can stay in the right lane and keep putting his nose in front at the business end. Lagunanini (No.12) is the other "gets there" type, and Our Yonglee (No.6) has that honest run vibe. Knurl is the risky roughie if the whole race falls apart.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Royal Rendezvous (No.2) — $4.00 / $1.75 🏆 2ND
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 27.2% | Place: 52.1% | Value: 1.25x
Why Proper sprint profile with the run to keep kicking, and the market support matches the confidence.
2. Lagunanini (No.12) — $4.60 / $1.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.5% | Place: 51.9% | Value: 1.10x
Why A real chance — but at $1.70 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Our Yonglee (No.6) — $4.50 / $1.90 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.2% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.00x
Why Can run a big race, but he's not the one I want with my win money.
Roughie: Knurl (No.8) — $20.00 / $3.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.4% | Place: 11.5% | Value: 0.59x
Why The value is spicy, but it needs a full-on race collapse.
Race type: Benchmark 56, 2000m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, classic distance where the last third matters
Punty read: This one is about who can take the sting out of the race and then re-accelerate once they straighten. Kawa and Razanne are the play, and I'm leaning hard on Razanne (No.8) as the win call with Kawa (No.11) as the place insurance. Crown Of Russia (No.1) is there, but this is a "give me the fitter runner and better trip" sort of race.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Razanne (No.8) — $4.20 / $1.80 🏆 2ND
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 23.0% | Place: 54.2% | Value: 1.19x
Why She looks set to sit close enough without burning, then hit the line with momentum.
2. Kawa (No.11) — $5.50 / $2.15 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.23x
Why A real chance — but at $2.15 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Crown Of Russia (No.1) — $5.10 / $2.15 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.94x
Why Can be in the mix, but the value swings back toward Razanne and Kawa.
Roughie: Stole Him (No.14) — $11.00 / $3.50 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.2% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.09x
Why If he gets a decent run through, he's the upset that can pinch a place or a win.
Race type: Benchmark 56, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so the finishing speed and timing do the heavy lifting
Punty read: This is a chaos handicap vibe, slow early, then everyone sprints like they remembered they've got somewhere to be. Switch Hit (No.4) is my win style play, Sensational Ruler (No.3) has the value feel for the place, and Frostration (No.12) is there as the short-priced grinder who can still pop up if the run is clean. Spietata is the roughie who can roar late.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Switch Hit (No.4) — $5.50 / $2.15 🏆 2ND
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P) — ✓ Won, net +$0.97
Prob 15.4% | Place: 54.2% | Value: 0.97x
Why Slow tempo suits his style, and with that rail true, he's the type who can slice through if the pack bunches.
2. Sensational Ruler (No.3) — $7.50 / $2.65 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.24x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Frostration (No.12) — $4.10 / $1.75 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.4% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.58x
Why She can be there, just doesn't scream value enough to stack the ticket.
Roughie: Spietata (No.7) — $9.50 / $3.10 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.0% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.95x
Why If they crawl and then explode, Spietata is the late swooper danger.
Race type: Benchmark 62, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, a short sprint where timing matters and the finish comes fast
Punty read: Place leverage is the move here, and Whimsy Smile (No.14) has the value profile to run into the money. Bajaria (No.13) and Hell's Diamond (No.12) are the other two big finishing threats, and Tango Jewel (No.4) is the roughie if the leaders open the door early.
Top 3 + Roughie ($21.50 pool)
1. Bajaria (No.13) — $4.40 / $1.85 🏆 WINNER
Bet $9.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$30.60
Prob 27.4% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.86x
Why She's suited to the sprint tempo, and she's got the right kind of run pattern to keep getting there.
2. Hell's Diamond (No.12) — $4.50 / $1.90 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.5% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.98x
Why A real chance — but at $1.90 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Whimsy Smile (No.14) — $5.50 / $2.15 🏆 3RD
Bet $12.50 Place — ✓ Won, net +$14.38
Prob 18.1% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.46x
Why This is the one with the price you want for place, and she has the sprint burst to hit the line right where the money lives.
Roughie: Tango Jewel (No.4) — $10.00 / $2.85 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.6% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.06x
Why She can run on, but the best of my money is already split between Bajaria and Whimsy Smile.

Punty's Early Mail
Rightio Loose Units, Kilmore on a Good 4, the rail all the way, no rain drama, and a nice little N wind that keeps the closers honest. This is the kind of day where you back horses that can grind, then you sweat like you're trying to hear the TV over a mate doing celebratory yells in the kitchen.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Good 4, 1200m to 2000m card
Rail: True Entire Circuit
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play fair, pace matters, closers get their chance)
Weather: Partly cloudy, 16C, light breeze, no rain last 24 hours, watch for a long straight effect (wind helps runners hold their grind)
Early lane guess: On pace early, with a few backmarker swoops if the leaders take each other on
Tempo profile: Genuine to moderate, with a couple of races where the map splits the field
Jockeys to follow:
John Allen: he keeps landing in the right spots, and he's got winning intent in these maidens and midweekers.
Dylan Dunn: sharp early placement type, if there's cover and tempo he uses it.
Luke Currie: when the race breaks, he usually finds the gap or forces one.
Stables to respect:
Mitchell Freedman (6): patient, buys time, and when he turns the key the horse shows up.
Ben, Will & Jd Hayes (2): they don't throw darts, if a runner's in the mix they mean it.
M W Walker (3): keeps the wheels on, especially when the market starts paying attention.
Punty's take:
Alright degenerates, Kilmore today is basically "speed vs survival", with that straight wind giving the back halves a genuine shot. The track is Good 4, rail is true, so you can't just throw money at the cheapest price and hope. You need map fit, clean runs, and the right gear timing.
My spine is built on three races where the favourites are either real, or they're real enough that you can't look away. Race 1 is a two-lane story, and Race 2 and Race 3 are classic "do the work early and don't get cute late" races.
Also watch the places. My lot has been profitable leaning into Place at this sort of tempo. Win is where you cop the heartbreak tax. Place is where you harvest the chaos without getting fully wrecked.
What it means for you:
Be aggressive early where the map lines up, but don't go chasing every longshot like it's a lottery ticket from a pub TAB. If a horse is on the right part of the track with the right role, you back it. If it's miles off the pace and drifting in the market, you let it roll past your ticket and keep your cash for when the race actually makes sense.
Your plan:
1) Trust the Big 3 winners and then lean into the Place value runners in the maidens and benchmark stuff.
