Punty's take:

This meeting screams one thing, Heavy 9 plus a rail out 3m, means the inside can be a bit sticky but the bigger issue is ground loss. If you're posted wide early and you're still trying to do your best work at the 600m, you're swimming upstream. I want runners that can either hold a position close enough to the bridle, or swoop with cover and then hit the line like it owes them money.

Races 4 to 7 are where the quaddie chaos lives, and I'm leaning hard into the wet-track reality. Those 1200 to 2000m jumps between classes tell you the same story each time, the finish is where the truth comes out. So I'm backing horses that match the pace picture, and I'm grabbing value where the market drifts and the gear says "we're coming back sharper".

And yeah, I've built a Big 3 spine that's meant to survive the Heavy slog. If it all hits, it turns into one of those days where you're texting mates "tell me you put money on this" before the siren even finishes its song.

Go win where the picture is clean. Race 2 and Race 4 are built for main-character horses to do their job, Marron in the second, then Lady Elsa and Midnight Glow types in the fourth. You don't want to overcomplicate Heavy races, you just want the right horses in the right trips.

Then you protect yourself with the roughies. Heavy tracks love surprise finishers, so I'm taking value angles where the race shape gives them a path, and I'm not flogging your bankroll on five random darts into the dark.

If you're chasing the quaddie lanes, you're basically buying a chance to catch a couple of the right-priced winners, because the open legs are where the dividends are made. It's not a Sunday stroll, it's a proper ticket, and you've got to respect that.
