1200m · Maiden; · 13:30
✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Maiden Plate, 1200m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Flamingo Flyer and the on-pace crew doing their bit early.
Punty read: This is the classic 1200m where position is king and you can't be too far back unless you're a freak finisher. The pace is there, so I'm not chasing backmarkers, I'm backing the horse that lands on the right spot and then uses the straight like a cheat code. Adakite is the one that looks most ready to strike, with Mo and Acharnee in the mix if they get any breathing room.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Adakite (No.11) — $3.20 / $1.55 🏆 2ND
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 47.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.21x
Why Market has her honest for a reason, and she's built for a clean, early-to-mid trip.

2. Mo (No.6) — $5.30 / $1.62 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.3% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.08x
Why A real chance — but at $1.62 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Acharnee (No.2) — $6.00 / $2.25 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.7% | Place: 49.8% | Value: 0.70x
Why Tongue tie first time, and she can get into it, but winning is a tougher road at this price.

Roughie: Salarae (No.3) — $15.00 / $3.70 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.3% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 0.59x
Why She's the "if the race shape messes up" play, not the base bet.

✓ WON +$15 Final

Race type: Maiden Plate, 1500m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Socium and I'lluvyoulongtime are the danger types later, Top Conti sets it up.
Punty read: This is where the strong early work gets rewarded, especially on a Good 4 when runners can keep rolling. Top Conti is the clear on-pacer and the market's treated her like a serious lad. Vantaa is the big threat for the value angle, Tempered Edge is there for a long-shot upset if she finds another gear, but I want to be with the runner who can actually control the race rhythm.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Top Conti (No.4) — $2.15 / $1.25 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$14.95
Prob 52.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.24x
Why If she jumps and puts herself where she's meant to, this looks like a straightforward win script.

2. Vantaa (No.10) — $2.90 / $1.45 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 27.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.13x
Why A real chance — but at $1.45 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Tempered Edge (No.3) — $17.50 / $2.55 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.5% | Place: 23.4% | Value: 0.75x
Why If she sneaks into the race with the right timing, she can lift, but she's a back end project at this level.

Roughie: Socium (No.2) — $18.00 / $2.85 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 3.6% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 0.81x
Why She's got interference excuses behind her and could run on if they overcook it up front.

✓ WON +$12 Final

Race type: Maiden Plate, 1000m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, it's Golden Cicada on the pace story, Parcae doing the heavy-finish thing.
Punty read: 1000m at Mornington is basically a sprint with commitment issues. You either get across early or you get across late, there's no middle lane. Parcae is the one who looks like she can make the race simple once the field moves into the straight. Armorware is the one that can sprint into the trifecta zone, Ostrom is the value place type, and Glen Shiel is the runner who can surprise if the pace falls to bits.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Parcae (No.9) — $1.82 / $1.15 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$12.30
Prob 50.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.01x
Why She's the pick in a speed-to-finish race, and short prices at this track usually mean something.

2. Armorware (No.6) — $5.30 / $1.60 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.05x
Why A real chance — but at $1.60 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Ostrom (No.5) — $5.00 / $1.95 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.0% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.00x
Why She's the kind that can hang around late, especially if the leaders squirm.

Roughie: Glen Shiel (No.1) — $12.00 / $2.45 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.3% | Place: 40.0% | Value: 1.28x
Why Tongue tie first time plus a lane near the rail, if she gets clear at the right time she can run over the top.

✗ MISS -$8 Final

Race type: Benchmark 70, 3080m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, the staying types and midfield stalkers get the real say.
Punty read: Big staying races turn into a war of patience. When it's slow early, you want a horse that can keep travelling without being asked to do too much. Salsita maps to sit just off it, Genrichero is the grinder that might be rolling when the others are thinking too hard, and Reddivo is the one who can still be dangerous late with the right run. This is where you back tactics and fitness, not fairytales.

Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)

1. Salsita (No.2) — $4.50 / $1.90 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $7.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$7.50
Prob 20.5% | Place: 62.9% | Value: 0.88x
Why Slow pace at 3080m rewards the horse that can keep a rhythm, and she looks made for that.

2. Genrichero (No.4) — $3.50 / $1.65 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.94x
Why A real chance — but at $1.65 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Reddivo (No.1) — $5.00 / $1.75 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.8% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 1.04x
Why Track and distance evidence says he can be there, but I'm taking the win shot with Salsita first.

Roughie: Motiver (No.7) — $9.00 / $2.90 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.0% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.01x
Why If the pace doesn't hold and it becomes a tactical shuffle, he's got a path to sneak into the finish.

✓ WON +$29 Final

Race type: Benchmark 62, 2050m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Lightning Flash holds the speed, and Saveadateforme is the one I want late.
Punty read: 2050m is the distance where timing pays rent. If the pace is moderate and honest, you want someone who can loom up without getting stalled. Saveadateforme looks like the best bet to come into the race with momentum, Lightning Flash is the speed angle, and Nicoffhome is a sneaky place chance. African Grey is the roughie because she's got the right profile for a late run if the leaders get tired.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Saveadateforme (No.14) — $5.50 / $1.95 🏆 WINNER
Bet $10.50 Each Way ($5.25W + $5.25P) — ✓ Won, net +$28.61
Prob 18.2% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.20x
Why He's getting the right trip, and the value side makes him the type you can land in the placings even if he misses.

2. Lightning Flash (No.3) — $5.00 / $2.00 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.0% | Place: 54.0% | Value: 1.01x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Nicoffhome (No.4) — $7.60 / $2.40 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.4% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.40x
Why Big upside on his profile, but again the money has to pick a lane and Saveadateforme is that lane.

Roughie: African Grey (No.13) — $11.00 / $2.90 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.3% | Place: 35.0% | Value: 1.35x
Why If they yank each other apart and she gets the right run into the straight, she can hit the board hard.

The Big Screen Company (Bm62)
1000m · Benchmark 62; · 16:00
✗ MISS -$7 Final

Race type: Benchmark 62, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, it's about quick reactions and keeping position.
Punty read: Short course, big pressure. The map says La Zoom is the standout with the perfect blend of position and finishing energy. Ladhar is also in the mix but I'm not falling in love with it at this stage, Presscode is the place chance, and Bella Cinque is the sort that can sneak in if there's traffic. This is the race where one little gap means everything.

Top 3 + Roughie ($7.00 pool)

1. Ladhar (No.9) — $3.55 / $1.50 🏆 4TH
Bet $7.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$7.00
Prob 19.1% | Place: 56.4% | Value: 0.83x
Why He's got the map fit and a big chance to sit in the right part of the field and pounce late.

2. La Zoom (No.6) — $6.50 / $2.15 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.6% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 1.40x
Why A real chance — but at $2.15 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Presscode (No.10) — $5.50 / $1.90 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.4% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.03x
Why Solid chance to run into it, but the win conviction is going elsewhere.

Roughie: Zamparini Spirit (No.3) — $9.00 / $2.55 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.6% | Place: 28.9% | Value: 0.94x
Why If the pace pressure keeps building, he can grab a piece late and lift into the trifecta conversation.

✗ MISS -$10 Final

Race type: Restricted 62, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Too Tough presses, Volatile is the backmarker with a run on.
Punty read: This is one of those 1200m races where it looks like it should be simple, then it turns into a dog fight in the last 200. Volatile has that "late pick-up" profile, and Oceanella is right in the pocket too. Too Tough is the market anchor and gives you the solid baseline, but I'm happy to play the value and hold tight with Volatile because the map suggests a race setup that can suit.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Volatile (No.3) — $4.40 / $1.85 🏆 3RD
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 17.3% | Place: 62.5% | Value: 1.02x
Why Backmarker who can still find the line, if they don't stop him from running, he can spring.

2. Too Tough (No.2) — $4.90 / $1.82 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.6% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.88x
Why A real chance — but at $1.82 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Oceanella (No.13) — $6.50 / $2.40 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.5% | Place: 40.6% | Value: 1.08x
Why Midfield can work if the tempo stays right, and she looks like she can be there late.

Roughie: Ranakye (No.6) — $10.00 / $3.30 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.0% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 1.11x
Why On pace, so if the leaders soften, she can roll forward and pinch a spot.

✗ MISS -$13 Final

Race type: Benchmark 62, 1500m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Eye For An Eye wants the lead, but Mr Sioux is the efficient type who can pounce.
Punty read: This is a strong "winner is the one who times it" race. Eye For An Eye is pushing the front, Rock Them Jools is lurking, Overpriced is in that midfield pocket, but Mr Sioux is the one with the best blend of confidence and closing ability for this straight. Kastun Star is the value play to round it out, and Art 'n' Soul is the roughie if the race turns into chaos near the line.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Mr Sioux (No.5) — $2.50 / $1.37 🏆 4TH
Bet $13.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 31.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.05x
Why He's got the right running style for a true 1500m fight, and the win case looks clean.

Bet Tracked
Prob 16.0% | Place: 56.0% | Value: 0.87x

Bet Tracked
Prob 13.8% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 1.19x
Why Solid value at a longer price, but again I'm prioritising the win anchor.

Bet Tracked
Prob 8.3% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 1.13x

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Mornington on a Good 4 with the rail kicked out 8m, cloudy cold and a heap of runners ready to go full chaos mode. This track is usually pretty fair, but you still gotta respect where the speed's at. Today I'm chasing that sweet spot where the leaders are doing the heavy lifting, and the value stuff is running on like it's trying to steal your money back.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Good 4, sprint to staying distance (1000m to 3080m) card
Rail: Out 8m Entire Circuit
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play Genuine Pace vs On-Pace stalkers, with a bias to runners who can hold position early)
Weather: Cloudy, 12°C, humidity 58%, wind 16km/h SSW (watch for cool start, can keep the front end honest and makes early positioning matter more)
Early lane guess: On the speed, outside lanes get a sniff, especially where the map says on-pace from draw
Tempo profile: Mixed day, but the sprints and middle races lean genuine to moderate, so if you're parked three, you better be paying rent.
Jockeys to follow:
Dylan Dunn: gets his horses into the race, and when the map suits he's ruthless.
Ethan Brown: can stick 'em where they need to be, perfect for these Mornington tempo profiles.
Michael Dee: clean, patient work when the early speed is doing its job.
Stables to respect:
Clayton Douglas (2 runners): nimble maiden operators, they're not scared to press early.
M M Laurie (2 runners): often turns up a sneaky win or place dog when the conditions suit.
Ms K Dufty (1 runner): small yard, but they keep producing runners who can be competitive at this level.

Punty's take:

This meeting is built on race shape. If the pace is genuine, you back the horse that doesn't have to do extra work to find a position. If it's slow, you look for the one who can hit the line without being dragged into a crawl.

My spine today is straight winners focused, then I'm using a roughie route when the market is overreacting or underestimating a runner with the right tactics. Think of it like Marvel's multiverse, except instead of parallel timelines it's parallel runs through the straight.

Where I'm likely to get aggressive: Race 1 and Race 2 are the "clean lanes, don't overthink it" sections. Where I'm cautious: the staying slog in Race 4 and the place-leverage stuff later. When the field string gets long, one unlucky moment can erase your whole ticket like it never happened.

What it means for you:

Bet the maps. Don't just pick a horse because the odds are shiny. For Mornington, your biggest danger is getting stuck behind horses that are going nowhere. So in the sprints and middle races, I'm leaning on those who can either take control or sit right on it. That's where your money survives.

In the chaos lanes, I'm not expecting miracles every leg. I'm expecting one or two winners to land as the quaddie glue, and then the open races to do what they always do, keep you humble and entertained. If you're going wide, do it with a plan, not vibes.
