✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Handicap, 1000m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, Brazen Butcher is trying to carve out a tempo and Sharpassa keeps the pressure
Punty read: If you can't beat a leader with the blinkers going on when the track is dry and quick, you're probably tipping on vibes. Brazen Butcher is the guy setting the terms, and Slip The Jab is the stalking threat who should be in the fight even if the front runs a bit too hard.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Brazen Butcher (No.1) — $2.00 / $1.05 🏆 3RD
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 30.3% | Place: 67.2% | Value: 0.65x
Why Barrier 1, maps to lead, blinkers first time, and he's built for a Good 4 sprint kick.

2. Slip The Jab (No.2) — $3.70 / $1.40 🏆 4TH

Bet Tracked
Prob 17.4% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.45x

Bet Tracked
Prob 13.6% | Place: 29.5% | Value: 1.14x

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Handicap, 1000m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, Sniper's Son, Paint It Red and Something Royal are all keen early
Punty read: This is a speed party with a short fuse. Sniper's Son looks the type to stalk or outright hold the lead from barrier 2, and Brave Wasp is your danger who can sit midpack and still pounce. If you're hunting an upset, it'll be from the ones that can get position without getting trapped in traffic.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Sniper's Son (No.1) — $2.90 / $1.55 🏆 2ND
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00

Why Sprint class, on-pace map, draw is perfect to control the rhythm and not get shuffled.

2. Brave Wasp (No.4) — $3.60 / $1.62 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 28.2% | Place: 56.2% | Value: 1.18x
Why The stalking plan fits, and it's good market support, but win-only means it's awkward for a straight cash bet.

Bet Tracked
Prob 13.4% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 1.19x

Bet Tracked
Prob 12.0% | Place: 27.9% | Value: 1.21x

✓ WON +$1 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo, and the on-pacers have the door open, especially Super Sentai
Punty read: Maiden at 1100 on Good 4 is usually about who settles without wasting energy, then finds the shelf. Two Up Boom and Super Sentai look set for that, with Espresso Time the one who can hit the line if she gets a clean trip. Chattahoochie is the sort that can clunk into the placings if the race breaks the right way.

✓ WON +$13 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, The Rocket and Delzee are the speed arrows
Punty read: This is a maiden where the "I can actually win" types should start winning. Delzee is the on-pace danger who looks like she'll get the run of the race. Kute As Kan Be is the one to respect as a pocket challenger, and The Rocket is the sort that can keep finding the line if he gets a decent cart across.

Top 3 + Roughie ($21.50 pool)

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Handicap, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, Great Promise and Flash Dancer are leading the tempo set
Punty read: This race is about who holds their speed into the lane. Belaura Star and Flash Dancer are both on-pace, and Great Promise sits right in the mix like he's waiting for the moment to pounce. The danger is you back the right one but pick the wrong part of the race, because 1100 handicaps move quick.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1300m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, on-pacers can work, but there's enough spread for midfield to surge
Punty read: 1300 maiden means you want a horse that can run through the race, not just sprint the first 200m then fade. Maurice's Princess looks like she's in the right zone, with Diamond Warrior close behind as the contender who can run a steady enough race. Pancho's Place is your one that can be there if the track pattern doesn't swallow him early.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

✓ WON +$2 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1300m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so the on-pacers with the right gear get a big advantage
Punty read: This one's built for Tag Time. When the tempo is slow, front runners get a free ride, and the winner is often the one who can control the race rather than just survive it. Ruthless Bloom is the quality threat from the back end of the speed spectrum, and Magic Blue Point is the price we respect because she's got the right profile to hit the line.

Top 3 + Roughie ($16.00 pool)

Bet $4.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$4.50

✓ WON +$2 Final

Race type: Handicap, 2200m
Map & tempo: Slow tempo, so stayers with a proper turn of foot get paid
Punty read: 2200m on Good 4 with slow speed is all about who can keep finding the line after the field stretches. Sweet Surrender looks tailor-made for the conditions and the long run to the finish. Prince Epaulette is the pressure, Duchees Demerit is the underlay you can toss in for the frame because the market's over it. Dandy's Gem is your rough price that could sneak into the finish if the tempo holds.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Northam on Good 4, rails +2 and zero rain lately, so it's basically a "no excuses, send it" kinda day. The pace map's setting up spicy early, and if you're still backing horses like it's a wet season, you're gonna have a bad time, legends.

The big thing today is speed finding a home. When the leaders go hard at Northam, the backmarkers need everything to fall in their lap. But don't get it twisted, this track can absolutely reward one good swerve at the finish, especially when the market is quietly paying attention. I'm looking at you, each way opportunities that don't need a prayer, just a run through traffic.

And for the degenerates, yes I've got a Multi spine you can build around. It's the sort of spine you chuck on the bar, walk away, and come back to a phone buzz. Just remember, we're playing races, not writing fan fiction.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Good 4, 1000m-2200m card
Rail: +2m entire
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play Fast, on-pace friendly)
Weather: Sunny, 15°C, watch for slick confidence early, no rain cloud cover (no wet-track chaos)
Early lane guess: tight early, leaders get first crack, then you buy the runners sitting second or third
Tempo profile: Genuine to moderate tempos early, so expect the front end to stick around for a bit
Jockeys to follow:
William Pike: grabs the rail-ripper vibe with Brazen Butcher when the race shape suits.
Chris Parnham: can play gate-to-wire or find the right pocket, and today he's involved with the right tempo horses.
Ms Kayla Holroyd: Sniper's Son draw is doing work, and she looks like she knows where the line is.
Stables to respect:
Josh Brown (2 runners): has the speed cred covered, and he's not shy when the market backs the main chance.
S & J Casey (5 runners): they keep schooling these types into the right trips, and they've got multiple bites at the cherry.
Ryan Hill (2 runners): shows up in the right legs, especially when the run style matches the pace map.

Punty's take:

Northam today is the classic "Good 4, rails out, don't overthink the first 400m" meeting. With rain nowhere near the track recently, you're not getting that soft-ground excuse where late runners fly through the top shelf. So when I see leaders on speed factors, I don't treat it like a suggestion. Brazen Butcher in Race 1 and Tag Time in Race 7 are the kind of horses that benefit from a fast start, because they're built to keep kicking once they're in the rhythm.

There's also a market story across the card. When something firms hard and the gear changes make sense, I'm paying attention, even if I don't love it at "win only" prices. Race 8 is the best example, Sweet Surrender looks like the fitter stayer profile for this sort of slow tempo, while Prince Epaulette is the live pressure you don't ignore. That's your staying race chess match, not a lottery.

Big picture, the places matter more than the full chaos-diving. There are a stack of races where the top two or three are likely to be in the finish, meaning you don't need to land the exact order to have a productive day.

What it means for you:

If you're looking for a clean punting plan, you attack Race 1 and Race 7 for the win spine, then treat the rest like a "protect the position" day. The meeting shape screams on-pace, so lean into horses that can either lead or stalk without being forced too wide early.

For the value stuff, don't chase random longshots in the sprint legs just because they're drifting. Your best value today is where the run style matches the pace and the market move has a reason behind it. If you're going to sprinkle a roughie, make sure it's coming from a place position, or it's got a genuine path to the front. That's how you avoid the "meh, it ran on 9th" heartbreak tax.

Now, let's get stuck into the card, race by race, like we mean it.
