First thing, the pace picture is slower than your mate's group chat when someone says 'quick one'. That means races are won late, especially with the track potentially tightening up if the clouds open. So I'm leaning into runners that either get the right spot early, or have the engine to wind up over the last bit. Also, watch the market movers, because when the bookies firm something on a Soft, they usually aren't doing it for the vibes.

Then the whole day turns into a "who gets the slot, who holds ground" festival. Race 4 and Race 7 especially, you can feel the tempo and the way the horses will peel off and run. And Race 8? That's where the market's probably half right, so we're taking the value where it sits and protecting our bets like we're guarding a couch at a house party.
What it means for you: Aggression for me is where the map and the market line up, and protection is where wide draws on a Soft can get a horse stitched up. So I'm backing winners, but I'm also leaning heavily on Place leverage in the right spots, because today's track rewards finishing, not just surviving.
