Race 1 is a "speed-map truth serum" job. Wild Monarch at $1.52 is the kind of horse that gets first dibs on running the race, and with a Soft 7 it's usually about getting organised early. Last Metaphor looks like the classic should-not-be-longer-in-the-run sort of runner, and if the kick-off speed is real, he can nab a better finish than the price says.

Races 3 and 4 are where this card starts getting spicy. Woodrow (Race 3) has the right profile to keep building through the lanes, and Kowloon Magnate is the type that can slot into the finishing lane if the leaders are doing something. Then Race 4, River Jordan, Alabama Charm, Hello G'day, that whole crew screams "position matters more than you think". If you're not balanced early, you'll pay for it late.

By Race 8 it's chaos time, because 1000m Soft 7 plus an open bunch equals a punchy finish. Yes Yes Boss is your baseline in that chaos, but Broken Wings and Difensivo have enough legs to make things awkward, and Cupid's Kiss at the back can absolutely sweep if the leaders crack at the wrong second.
