Punty's Punts
Race type: Maiden, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, a couple of on-map types led by Tone, but it's not sprint tempo, it's chess
Punty read:
This is the sort of maiden where the first half goes nowhere fast, and then the race turns into who can actually change gears without getting trapped. True Tone (No.7) is the cleanest story for me, she's got that sectionals hint and her map puts her in the right spot to roll late. Koibito (No.1) has the market eye and the mid-pack map means he can follow and pounce once the sprint-to-the-line starts. Made In Italy (No.3) looks like a tough one to knock out too, with consistent form and a race that should set up for a running type.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. True Tone (No.7) — $2.92 / $1.40 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$24.96
Prob 29.4% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.36x
Why Slow tempo suits her late gear, and she's the type that does the damage when everyone else is still finding excuses.
2. Koibito (No.1) — $4.50 / $1.62 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.6% | Place: 54.2% | Value: 0.80x
Why A real chance — but at $1.62 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Made In Italy (No.3) — $6.20 / $2.10 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.00x
Why Solid form but this race shape puts a premium on getting a clear crack, and the market is already doing the talking.
Roughie: Palm Tree (No.11) — $9.20 / $2.70 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.8% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.64x
Why If the tempo stays soft and a few runners chop up behind them, she can creep into that late place money and make noise.
Race type: Benchmark 68, 1100m
Map & tempo: Hot Pace, leaders expected early and often
Punty read:
This is speed map heaven, and you want the juveniles that can hold their position while everyone else is panicking in the first bend. Crescent King (No.1) is the one I keep circling, barrier 1 and on-pace map means he gets first opportunity to control the race. Fovea (No.6) is a live wire and the market has already taken notice, she can spear and keep pressure on. Miss Scandal (No.4) is the danger, especially if the leaders stack up and she gets a clean run through.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Crescent King (No.1) — $2.38 / $1.22 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$20.62
Prob 38.2% | Place: 58.2% | Value: 0.92x
Why Barrier 1, on-pace map, and this sort of sprint usually rewards the one who gets a tow before sprinting away.
2. Fovea (No.6) — $4.10 / $1.57 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 25.3% | Place: 51.9% | Value: 1.11x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Miss Scandal (No.4) — $5.10 / $1.75 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.1% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.21x
Why If it's a leaders sprint, she's the one who can sit just off them and pounce when shoulders turn.
Roughie: Not On My Watch (No.5) — $9.30 / $3.40 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.5% | Place: 27.9% | Value: 1.16x
Why Backmarker but has a fastest-lane profile, if they overcook it up front she can swoop for a slice.
Race type: Benchmark 72, 2110m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, pace advantaged types should just keep rolling
Punty read:
Longer trip on Soft 6 is where bad positioning gets punished late. Cavalry types can get away with it earlier, but at 2110m the race gets heavy and everyone's legs talk. Millie De Lune (No.4) is my pick, backmarker map or not, she's got the class to keep making ground late, and her form profile suggests she's ready to go again. Cavalry (No.2) is the obvious rival, and if she finds clear air early she can run right through the race. My Charm (No.3) is the wildcard if she holds her spot and the middle section doesn't collapse.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Millie De Lune (No.4) — $2.85 / $1.57 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$27.75
Prob 37.8% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.23x
Why This is her sort of race, the tempo suits settling, and she should keep climbing inside the last 300.
2. Cavalry (No.2) — $2.40 / $1.40 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 34.4% | Place: 60.4% | Value: 0.91x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. My Charm (No.3) — $4.10 / $1.85 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.4% | Place: 45.6% | Value: 0.91x
Why Strong staying type, but she needs the run and the race to go her way mid-race.
Roughie: Fantazy Man (No.1) — $12.00 / $3.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.3% | Place: 22.3% | Value: 0.84x
Why If there's a traffic problem or a late tempo shift, he's got enough soft-track legs to sneak into the frame.
Race type: Benchmark 72, 1600m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, so you need position but also stamina
Punty read:
Mile races at Warwick Farm on Soft can turn into a stamina tax. Storm Season (No.2) maps midfield, but the way this race is expected to run means you're not chasing a leader, you're chasing an angle to get into the lane. Burn The Sky (No.4) has the right class profile and the market still respects him, he's got the sort of consistency that doesn't need luck every start. Darn Cute (No.5) is interesting because ON-PACE profiles can still be tough to beat if they get cover and don't get bogged. Watch Erina (No.6) too, she's the sort that might get a run late if the race splits.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Storm Season (No.2) — $3.25 / $1.37 🏆 WINNER
Bet $10.50 Each Way ($5.25W + $5.25P) — ✓ Won, net +$13.76
Prob 30.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.23x
Why Midfield trip on a mile, but he should keep finding as the kick turns into a grind.
2. Burn The Sky (No.4) — $3.30 / $1.40 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 30.3% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.05x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Darn Cute (No.5) — $6.95 / $1.95 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.7% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.83x
Why Good profile, but this is a race where you want clean action, and she's more about the right run.
Roughie: Erina (No.6) — $9.75 / $2.50 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.6% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.88x
Why If the inside holds up and the race opens late, she can be the one squeezing through when others get checked.
Race type: Benchmark 72, 1600m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, so don't get cute with slow-run theories
Punty read:
Fear No Evil (No.4) is the clear story here. When you've got a leader with genuine pace on Soft 6, the race usually turns into a battle of who can go with them and who's cooked by the time they reach the straight. Clancy (No.7) and Fierceness (No.8) have both got the right running lanes to pinch a piece, but the winner looks like the one who can dictate. Valorous Power (No.5) is the roughie angle if the pace is real enough to help a mid-run stalker take advantage.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Fear No Evil (No.4) — $3.20 / $1.52 🏆 4TH
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 36.2% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.40x
Why Genuine tempo, and she's got the kind of cruising style that keeps working through the wet hit.
2. Clancy (No.7) — $4.80 / $1.85 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.8% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.80x
Why A real chance — but at $1.85 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Fierceness (No.8) — $7.00 / $2.45 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.7% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.95x
Why She can run on, but I'm not forcing an underlay where the win case is already crowded by the leader.
Roughie: Valorous Power (No.5) — $11.00 / $3.00 SCR
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.2% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 1.21x
Why If the pace cracks and drops back to midfield, he's the type that can hit the line harder than his odds suggest.
Race type: Benchmark 72, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, so you need the stalking pocket
Punty read:
This is one of those 1400m races where the "on paper" favourites can get swallowed if they don't get a decent rhythm. Art Volant (No.7) maps midfield but has the profile to find space and keep running, and the market hasn't ignored him. Mosgold (No.11) is the value angle, and if the race doesn't race away from them early, he's the one who can keep giving. Verbil (No.1) is the other place play type, but I think the win comes down to who settles and then attacks the line with zero panic.
Top 3 + Roughie ($4.50 pool)
1. Art Volant (No.7) — $6.50 / $2.40 SCR
Bet Tracked — ⊘ Scratched · bet voided
Prob 19.4% | Place: 57.8% | Value: 1.26x
Why Midfield map, clean enough to strike late, and he should be in the frame when the pace doesn't overcook.
2. Verbil (No.1) — $6.75 / $2.40 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $4.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$4.50
Prob 18.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.12x
Why He's a solid chance, but the win bet is on Art Volant, and we don't need to double dip value.
3. Mosgold (No.11) — $10.00 / $3.10 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.9% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 1.43x
Why A real chance — but at $3.10 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
Roughie: Malbork Castle (No.13) — $9.50 / $2.85 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.4% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.96x
Why A real chance — but at $2.85 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
Race type: Benchmark 100, 1000m
Map & tempo: Hot Pace, leaders and fast reaction win the short version
Punty read:
This is sprint roulette but with a logic backbone. Ice Kool (No.9) is on the speed map and his win profile matches the track on Soft, because he can keep applying pressure through the line. Kerguelen (No.5) is the value runner who can hang in and snag a result if the leaders do too much too early. Silver Wedding (No.8) is a similar "pressure then grind" type, and Mal Coupe (No.3) is the roughie who gets overlooked because of price, but he's there when it tightens up.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Ice Kool (No.9) — $2.15 / $1.22 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$17.25
Prob 29.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.62x
Why Short course, hot tempo, and he's built to keep fighting close to the front. When these races go wrong, it's usually the ones off the speed.
2. Kerguelen (No.5) — $7.00 / $2.35 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.1% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 1.55x

3. Silver Wedding (No.8) — $7.50 / $2.50 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.9% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 1.45x
Why Can come home hard, but she's more a "place chance into win chaos" type.
Roughie: Mal Coupe (No.3) — $10.50 / $2.60 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.5% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.43x
Why If the early speed goes too hard and he finds a run, he can clunk up for a result at a price.
Race type: Benchmark 72, 1100m
Map & tempo: Hot Pace, so the lane position and early rhythm matter big time
Punty read:
1100m at Warwick Farm with Soft in play is where "good effort" and "winning effort" are separated by whether you get a run early enough. Whatalegacy (No.4) is the leader type, and the map plus his recent wins make him hard to overlook. Street Artist (No.8) is next cab off the rank, he's got the value on place and can slip into the lane late if the leaders hit trouble. Bruce I Am (No.19) is a sneaky on-pace chance with enough run to hang around, and Beau Bandit (No.11) is the roughie that can bounce into the frame if the race gets messy.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Whatalegacy (No.4) — $2.79 / $1.45 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 25.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.85x
Why If he gets to use the speed early, he's the one who can survive a wet-track fight and still hit the line best.
2. Street Artist (No.8) — $4.90 / $1.95 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.8% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 1.21x

3. Bruce I Am (No.19) — $10.00 / $3.10 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.6% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 1.06x
Why On-pace profile with a chance to run over the top late if the tempo strings out.
Roughie: Beau Bandit (No.11) — $11.00 / $3.40 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.4% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.28x
Why If there's a slow-down in the middle or a late bunching, he's right there to pinch a spot for the value seekers.

Punty's Early Mail
Rightio Loose Units, Warwick Farm in the Soft 6 mud, where the pace is slow enough to hear your thoughts and the finish line comes up rude.
Today's meeting feels like a bunch of races are going to boil down to who positions properly early and who actually handles the surface when it gets heavy. Rail is True, but with the track sitting Soft 6 plus a bit of shower risk, the track is still the boss. Slow tempo early means a lot of midfielders can look like geniuses on paper, right up until they need a run and there isn't one. That's where the place bets can get you out of jail, and why the early lane calls matter.
My Big 3 spine is built on horses that map well and should get their chance even if the mud plays games. Then we've got a couple of roughies in the right races where one tempo shift or one held-up run can flip the story fast. Do yourself a favour, don't overreact to drifting, watch the barriers and the map. The winners will come from the ones who get the run, not the ones who just "look good" on a form table.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Warwick Farm, 1000m to 1600m card
Rail: True
Official going: Soft 6 (expected to play wet-trappy, favouring horses that can hold position and keep pulling through the line)
Weather: Possible shower, 20°C, humidity 74%, wind 7km/h WNW (watch for track grip holding up, but any late rain makes the finish extra sticky)
Early lane guess: Tight up the middle early, with a couple of races where leaders get run into
Tempo profile: Mixed, but a few races are slow or moderate, meaning timing and clear running matter more than pure sprint speed
Jockeys to follow:
Zac Lloyd: rides 6 today, and he keeps getting the "map fits" drives.
Kerrin Mc Evoy: rides 5, good hands for sticky conditions and wide-then-finish jobs.
Mollie Fitzgerald: rides 5, usually smart positioning when the surface turns ugly.
Stables to respect:
C J Waller (8 runners): lots of first-class chances sprinkled through the card.
G Waterhouse & A Bott (6 runners): they love this sort of wet-leaning form, especially when the market and map align.
Joseph Pride (5 runners): sharp with early fitness and tends to place them where they can travel.
Punty's take:
This is one of those cards where you can't just "pick a favourite", you've got to work out who gets the first clean path when it matters. Soft 6 at Warwick Farm usually rewards horses that either lead, get on pace, or sit just close enough to mow down late without needing a miracle gap. With some races trending slow, the backmarkers will be there, sure, but you'll see plenty of them forced wider and earlier than planned, especially with a bit of shower risk.
Race 1 looks like a classic slow-burn maiden handicap where the smarter move beats the louder finish. True Tone (No.7) is backed for a reason, and she's got that sectionals profile that screams "keep me safe and let me ping late." If you're playing it conservative, go place. If you're feeling brave, it's still the right winner type.
Further up the card, the speed picture gets a bit more alive in the sprints and you'll want to respect the ones on the correct part of the track. Race 7 is pure benchmark 100 sprint chaos, but the key is simple: when the tempo is hot, the best horse isn't always the shortest-priced, it's the one who can actually hold a straight line and keep driving. Ice Kool looks set to do that, while a couple of mid-priced types could snag it if leaders punch it too hard early.
What it means for you:
Punter game plan is pretty straightforward. Be a bit more aggressive in the races where the leaders or on-pace horses map well, and protect yourself in the slow-tempo races by taking place where the race shape is more "position and timing" than "raw win power". This meeting has value in win, but it also has value in place, and your best margin is playing the same horse two different ways when the price makes sense.
If you're building a ticket, don't go huge on complicated exotics unless the race is screaming upside. The Quaddie lanes are where I'd park most of the action, because they keep the maths sane while still letting you catch the ones that jump up late. Also, watch barriers. Soft tracks reward timing, and barrier luck is a bigger deal than people think when footing is heavy.
And yeah, if you're one of the ratbags who just throws money at the biggest names, have a moment of silence for your bank account. Today, it'll need a little bit of strategy, not vibes.
