✗ MISS -$12 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, backmarkers have to work, midfield/stalkers get the trip
Punty read: This is one of those maidens where the leaders can't sprint away and leave you behind, so the "safe" play is the horse that can find the right section without being forced wide. Wingeandwin looks primed to sit closer and take advantage of the slow tempo, while Almas Jewel is a market favourite for a reason, even if it's not screaming "win by 4 lengths" on paper. Wild Boom has the blinkers first time and a drift into trouble, Fire Island is the roughie angle with a gear upgrade, and Purple Prince is the value pothole you only step into if you're awake.

Top 3 + Roughie ($12.22 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Almas Jewel (No.2) — $2.50 / $1.17 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $12.22 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$12.22
Prob 35.5% | Place: 55.3% | Value: 0.91x
Why Best blend of class fitness, good early sections, and a pace scenario where midfield can actually hit the line.

2. Wingeandwin (No.9) — $3.50 / $1.45 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 30.3% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.17x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Wild Boom (No.1) — $6.00 / $1.82 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.4% | Place: 19.1% | Value: 0.90x
Why Blinkers first time is interesting, but it's still got to prove it can get over the line in a slow-pace maiden.

Roughie: Fire Island (No.3) — $12.00 / $3.90 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.3% | Place: 12.2% | Value: 0.64x
Why Gear (blinkers off first time) is a genuine angle, but it's not got the win profile compared to the top two.

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1300m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, leader suited and the race shape rewards early positioning
Punty read: This is a "don't overcook it" race for punters, because the leader looks like it can take ownership of the tempo. Duskaura is the one that gets to dictate, and with the genuine pace on, there's less chance of a weird slow crawl that lets random swoopers steal it late. Behind it, Highland Dancer looks like the best alternative option, while Thirty Degrees is the classy stalking threat. Ridgeback is the long shot with a roughie grin on its face, and Lulu A Natural needs luck from the inside but can't be dismissed on pace alone.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Duskaura (No.9) — $2.05 / $1.13 🏆 3RD
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 39.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.27x
Why Leader profile plus pace on. It can set the terms and still have something left late.

2. Highland Dancer (No.5) — $3.40 / $1.40 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 22.6% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.83x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Thirty Degrees (No.4) — $5.00 / $1.65 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.8% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.23x
Why It can hold a position in the speed, but the model keeps the ticket focused on the leader.

Roughie: Ridgeback (No.3) — $12.00 / $2.80 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.7% | Place: 13.8% | Value: 0.64x
Why Decent chance to run a race, but not quite the win story versus the top pair.

✗ MISS -$10 Final

Race type: Class 1, 1900m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so the closer types and high finishing drivers get a big say
Punty read: At 1900m with the tempo slow, this is where you want a horse that can sit off the leaders without getting trapped. Aurora Effect has the profile to stalk and then hit the line, and its place confidence is massive, which is exactly what you want in a long gallop where winners can come from a few different lanes. Fabs Cuz is the other danger, because it's got the on-pace feel and can take advantage if the leaders soften. Share Our Secret and Slugworth are live for the underneath, while Memphis Blue is your "roughie worth a look" if it finds clear air late.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Aurora Effect (No.7) — $2.35 / $1.22 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 34.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.12x
Why Stalkable run, and slow tempo means it gets to save ground and still accelerate.

2. Fabs Cuz (No.2) — $3.30 / $1.45 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 28.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.14x
Why A real chance — but at $1.45 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Share Our Secret (No.11) — $7.50 / $2.35 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.9% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 0.76x
Why Can place if it gets a clear run, but it's not the win-style the ticket needs.

Roughie: Memphis Blue (No.4) — $11.00 / $2.75 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.0% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.12x
Why Good win value signal, especially if it can find a clear path late.

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, 1100m is all about who handles the straight and holds position
Punty read: Short race, so the inside and the settled horses can make it look easy. Bundoran has the best blend of early presence and place reliability, and Ruairi's profile suits getting into it at the right time. De La Salle is the outsider that can sneak into the mix if the race doesn't sprint too hard, while Little Bubbles is a value type with a decent chance to hang around. Tommyzacat is the roughie for the "if it gets breathing room" scenario.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Bundoran (No.2) — $3.80 / $1.70 🏆 3RD
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 22.2% | Place: 59.8% | Value: 0.70x
Why Strong place profile and the right tempo to stay involved without needing miracles.

2. Ruairi (No.11) — $6.00 / $2.25 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.5% | Place: 55.7% | Value: 1.17x
Why A real chance — but at $2.25 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. De La Salle (No.3) — $7.50 / $2.65 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.1% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.05x
Why Can run a cheeky race, but it's not a must-stake for the win plan.

Roughie: Tommyzacat (No.1) — $10.00 / $3.20 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.5% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 1.21x
Why If it gets the run, it's got enough "bounce and build" energy to hit the trifecta lane.

✗ MISS -$13 Final

Race type: Benchmark 58, 1300m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, so leaders can survive and midpack runners can pick lanes
Punty read: Set To Prophet looks like the controlling type, and the straight and sustained tempo at 1300m means if it can find clear air, it'll be hard to run down. Time To Commit is the smart place-side follow, because it can keep improving without needing to be a miracle finisher. Deebee's Girl is the value wobble underneath, while Surpasser and Cheating Lilibet are your "if the pace breaks" hazards. This is one where you want to be on the front runners or right beside them, not drifting too far back and hoping.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Set To Prophet (No.1) — $3.80 / $1.70 🏆 3RD
Bet $13.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 32.7% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.11x
Why Forward map, best section profile, and genuine pace means it doesn't get swallowed late.

2. Time To Commit (No.5) — $4.80 / $1.95 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.5% | Place: 62.5% | Value: 1.16x
Why A real chance — but at $1.95 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Surpasser (No.2) — $9.00 / $2.90 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.0% | Place: 35.8% | Value: 0.98x
Why Looks like a genuine threat if the pace favours it, but win value isn't there enough.

Roughie: Cheating Lilibet (No.6) — $6.50 / $2.40 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.0% | Place: 28.5% | Value: 0.90x
Why Pace-pressing style can make it tough to hold out, but it's just not the ticket anchor.

✗ MISS -$13 Final

Race type: Class 1, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so the mid-runners that can keep momentum matter
Punty read: This one's a "position, position, position" race. Miners Mate has the best combination of place profile and tactical speed without being forced to do the full work. Velia is the main alternative, because it's got the right kind of build-up run to grab a slice. Northern Eagle is the danger for a genuine hit if it gets a clean inside route, and Tamieka Warrior is the roughie that can land a surprise if the leaders bunch. For 1400m on a Good 4 with slow pace, you want runners that don't need everything to go right.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Miners Mate (No.3) — $4.20 / $1.80 🏆 2ND
Bet $13.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 22.4% | Place: 66.9% | Value: 1.03x
Why Place confidence is huge, and it's built to run on in a slow-tempo 1400m.

2. Velia (No.2) — $4.20 / $1.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.1% | Place: 62.8% | Value: 1.09x
Why A real chance — but at $1.80 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Northern Eagle (No.4) — $5.20 / $1.90 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.3% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 0.79x
Why Can run a place, but the ticket wants more win upside.

Roughie: Tamieka Warrior (No.8) — $13.00 / $3.80 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.2% | Place: 32.8% | Value: 1.14x
Why Gets into the race if the pace setup allows, and its value signal is better than the current odds vibe.

✗ MISS -$10 Final

Race type: Benchmark 66, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, but 1100m rewards those who don't get trapped
Punty read: Demarcate is the likeliest winner because it's got the most clean all-round win profile in the mix, and it's the sort that can land a spot close enough to the lead without doing the full sprint work early. Kate's Tiara is the main place pressure and can sneak into it if the inside lanes open up. Dune And Dusted is a live roughie, Apache Jack is the each-way-style "how's it still there?" threat, and Silent Serenade is a sneaky underneath for trifectas if it gets a clear run. Short race, so if it turns into a grind, the one that's got the best engine for the last 150m gets paid.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Demarcate (No.6) — $3.80 / $1.70 🏆 3RD
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 25.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.21x
Why Strong win profile with high place confidence, and it should handle the pace map without being exposed.

2. Kate's Tiara (No.7) — $6.00 / $2.25 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.5% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 0.88x
Why A real chance — but at $2.25 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Dune And Dusted (No.1) — $9.50 / $3.10 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.3% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 1.31x
Why This is value that can run top-three, but the model keeps it as protection, not staking.

Roughie: Apache Jack (No.8) — $9.50 / $3.10 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.9% | Place: 30.4% | Value: 1.07x

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Armidale on a Good 4 with the rail True and not a drop of rain in sight, so expect the speed to matter and the backmarkers to get cooked unless they find a tidy run.

If you're chasing the day's story, it's this: the tempo looks like it'll be manageable early in most races, so those "press the button" types with the right barriers should get every chance to put themselves right in front. And when the market firms up a shorty, I'm taking the hint, but I'm also looking for the little value wrinkles in the ranks behind them. Today's card's got a few races that can be quite straightforward, then you get one or two where the whole joint can get derailed by one ugly check or a wide trip. That's where you either stay disciplined… or you become a legend for the wrong reasons.

My spine is the Big 3 and multi, then we build the rest of the carnage around them race-by-race. If you want a quiet day, go find another hobby. If you want a day that feels like dragging a mate to the track who "doesn't really gamble", this is your meeting.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Good 4, 1100-1900m card
Rail: True
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play Speed-favoured, rail helps with less chaos)
Weather: Sunny, 24°C, humidity 20%, wind 18km/h W (watch for gusty track air as it'll keep things lively)
Early lane guess: more doors open than usual from middle draws, but the true speed still holds sway
Tempo profile: Mostly controlled early, with a couple genuine pace lanes where leaders can take their time
Jockeys to follow:
Donovan Dillon: Keeps landing on the front foot types like he's allergic to cover
Braith Nock: When he's on a one that maps, he rides like he's got a stopwatch
Anna Weatherlake: Quietly involved with runners that can sneak into the finish for a slice
Stables to respect:
Liam Ruddy (1 runners): Local strike and the "gear tweak" horses can jump a level
Jack Brown (1 runners): Has a habit of getting the right type home at this level
P J Cunningham (3 runners): Been very active through the card, especially with tactical races in mind

Punty's take:

Races 2 and 3 are your "sit up and pay attention" zones. Race 2 has a front-running profile that looks tailor-made for No.9 Duskaura, and the confidence around it is real. Race 3 is more interesting though, because Aurora Effect looks like the sort that can stalk without needing to run herself into the ground, then hit the line like it's had a coffee and a plan.

For the later races, you can feel the card getting sharper. Race 6 and Race 7 are where a couple of wider runners can get cheeky, but the key is not falling in love with the wrong lane. Miners Mate in Race 6 has the place probabilities and can make it a "get on, don't overthink" kind of day. Race 7 is a classic small-field chaos queue: Demarcate looks the most likely, but Dune And Dusted and Apache Jack are the ones who can make the quinella and trifecta plans worth the risk.

What it means for you:

Go aggressive where the pace and market both line up. That's Race 2 with Duskaura, and Race 3 with Aurora Effect. You're not chasing a dream there, you're just buying a horse that's got the right run style for a Good 4 and the right barriers to press.

Then, when you hit Race 5 and Race 6, you can still play boldly, but you do it with a "place-side protection mindset". Set To Prophet in Race 5 looks like a forward runner and should be in the firing line. In Race 6, Miners Mate and Velia both have enough place confidence that even if the winner's not perfect, you're not getting completely cooked.

Finally, don't ignore the value roughies. They're there because the market price doesn't match the profile, and on a dry Good 4, those value plays are often the ones that turn a normal day into a "how good was that?" day.
