Punty's Punts
Race type: Benchmark 50, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, expect leaders to press and a stalker to pounce
Punty read:
You've got a few that naturally sit on speed, and the rail's true, so the "who can stay close without burning" question decides the finish. Mohawk Warrior at No.5 is the type that's hard to ignore, because the run shape suits him. Chance and Redlights On also look like they'll be in the first page of the book at some point, and if the pace isn't too violent, they can both sweep into the money.
Top 3 + Roughie ($16.00 pool)
Top 3 + Roughie ($14.00 pool)

Bet Tracked
Prob 19.4% | Place: 68.2% | Value: 1.36x

Bet $7.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$11.83
Prob 18.3% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.11x
Why Likely to be near enough early, and those excuses sound like real interference and physical issues.
Roughie: On The Quiet (No.1) — $10.53 / $4.18 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.0% | Place: 54.4% | Value: 1.47x
Why Wide draw but not hopeless, and that sort of form can bounce when the traffic clears.
Race type: Class 3, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo with leaders pressing, expect on-pace to dominate
Punty read:
This is one of those 1200m hunts where if you're too far back you're basically asking for trouble. Shere Khan looks like he's got the right role, and the market leaning in makes me think connections want him to put his hand up early. The Impeckable is the obvious danger runner, with a profile that suggests he can fill a spot even if the win goes elsewhere. Grey Power is your lottery ticket if the speed collapses or a few of the middles get caught flat.
Top 3 + Roughie ($20.00 pool)
Top 3 + Roughie ($20.00 pool)

Bet $12.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$12.00
Prob 26.9% | Place: 62.2% | Value: 1.37x
Why Likely to control the tempo from the front, and the win bet is justified by the map and intent.

Bet Tracked
Prob 25.3% | Place: 56.2% | Value: 1.18x

Bet $8.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$15.76
Prob 14.7% | Place: 56.2% | Value: 1.01x
Why Better suited to this class and trip style, and can sneak into the money if the leaders soften.
Roughie: Grey Power (No.10) — $12.99 / $5.00 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.3% | Place: 17.3% | Value: 0.56x
Why If he wins it's usually because everything breaks perfectly, and you want that chaos elsewhere.
Race type: Maiden plate, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, sprint pressure, position matters early
Punty read:
Maiden 1100m is a proper "who's ready to run" contest. The ones that can hold a rhythm without getting stuck wide are the ones that cash. Trusting Star looks like the best-prepared option and should be able to find a stalking or handy spot early, then fight it out. Grigia is also a live threat and For Adeline is in the mix as well. Taste The Steel is the danger type because first-up in sprints can surprise when the field isn't as hot as it looks.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Trusting Star (No.1) — $3.40 / $1.80 🏆 3RD
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 28.8% | Place: 60.0% | Value: 0.97x
Why Blinked-up confidence with gear and a profile that says she should be competitive early.
2. Grigia (No.3) — $3.03 / $1.68 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 28.8% | Place: 60.0% | Value: 0.86x
Why She's good, but the model refuses to back her when the market thinly pays place value.
3. For Adeline (No.5) — $4.02 / $2.01 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 28.7% | Place: 59.8% | Value: 1.14x
Why Value is there, but the staking plan is already tight on the top runner.
Roughie: Taste The Steel (No.2) — $10.20 / $4.07 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.7% | Place: 21.7% | Value: 1.00x
Why The path to winning is there, but this is one to respect, not force, on limited place-paying.
Race type: Restricted 55, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, but short sprint means speed to win
Punty read:
1000m on a Good 4 with the rail true is where the first 200m decides your whole afternoon. Insta Worthy and Laser Beam look like the types who can land close and keep grinding, and Power Puff is the sneaky bulldog in the mix. Speedy Target and Amore Sirena are there, but at their prices you want them to be doing it tough in front, not getting swallowed late.
Top 3 + Roughie ($20.50 pool)
Top 3 + Roughie ($20.50 pool)
1. Insta Worthy (No.1) — $4.90 / $2.30 🏆 3RD
Bet $10.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.00
Prob 27.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.20x
Why Maps to sit in the right spot and the market thinks it, which usually means he goes close.
2. Laser Beam (No.2) — $4.44 / $2.15 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 27.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.09x

3. Power Puff (No.7) — $4.98 / $2.33 🏆 7TH
Bet $10.50 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 27.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.22x
Why If the race stays honest, she's right there to pick up the pieces at the finish.
Roughie: Mr Damage (No.10) — $15.62 / $5.87 🏆 6TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.5% | Place: 26.8% | Value: 0.77x
Why For him to win, the others have to completely misfire, like a mate missing every order at the bar.
Race type: Open, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, but expect the better-positioned sprinters to hold sway
Punty read:
Racatoon looks like the sensible engine for the day, with Bellzen the main threat and Sowilo Siren the one who can run at you if they chase each other early. Vincenzo is the only one you'd consider as a roughie if there's chaos, but his win path is tougher. This race has that "short sprint, keep saving ground, and pounce" feel.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Racatoon (No.5) — $2.46 / $1.49 🏆 3RD

Why He's tuned for this trip, and the role he gets should set up a clean finish.
2. Bellzen (No.9) — $5.56 / $2.52 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 30.6% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.65x
Why Value is spicy, but again, the model says don't overpay for the place.
3. Sowilo Siren (No.8) — $8.06 / $3.35 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.2% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.18x
Why She can run on, but the price tells you it's not the moment to grab her.
Roughie: Vincenzo (No.1) — $16.39 / $6.13 🏆 9TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.7% | Place: 25.2% | Value: 0.90x
Why If he wins, it's because the race shape and timing play together, otherwise you're left hoping.
The day's multi leans on three win legs across the card.
1 - Mohawk Warrior (Race 1, No.5)✗ — $3.18
2 - Trusting Star (Race 3, No.1)✗ — $3.40
3 - Racatoon (Race 5, No.5)✗ — $2.46
Meeting Stats
Selections
Punty's Early Mail
Rightio Loose Units, Atherton on a Good 4 with the rail true, and the sort of early weather that makes you reckon the track's gonna race fair and square. Not too much rain, no drama, so the leaders should get a crack at it. In these conditions, you back the horses that can hold a position early, then you let the finish do the talking.
This is the kind of meeting where everyone chases the shiny win money, and the real loot usually lives in the Place lanes and the exact spots where the map falls together. Race 1 sets the tone, Race 4 is a proper speedmap bunfight, and Race 5 looks like a two-horse story that could widen if someone does something silly early. I'm here for it.
Big 3 spine is locked in. Mohawk Warrior in Race 1, Trusting Star in Race 3, Racatoon in Race 5. Three separate races, three different styles, and that's how you build a ticket that can survive if one leg goes a bit sideways. Then we add a roughie in each race, because sometimes a value play needs a bit of chaos to pay rent.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Good 4, sprint to middle distance (1000m-1400m) card
Rail: True
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play speed on and close)
Weather: Partly cloudy, 21°C, gusts building, low rain threat (watch for fast-first, finishing kick)
Early lane guess: Better to sit handy, not flogging from the tail
Tempo profile: Moderate pace, with a couple races where the leaders try to make it a grind
Jockeys to follow:
Lauren Guernier: Draws and keeps the horses in their comfort zone, especially when there's a pace angle to use.
Masayuki Abe: Often finds runs where the horse's rating and the market line up, and he pushes through traffic when needed.
Wanderson D'Avila: Gets them into the right spots and can switch tempo late, especially in the sort of fields where you need luck.
Stables to respect:
A G Malliff (2 runners): Consistent at this sort of Class and trip, and you can feel when they expect to run into it.
A R Bailey (1 runner): When his horse is fit and the map makes sense, they hit the line hard.
F J Wieland (1 runner): Backing their go is usually the smart way, particularly when gear and early intent point toward improvement.
Punty's take:
Atherton's not throwing mud at us, so the "how hard can they run" question matters more than "who's a mudlark". Rail true also means you don't want to be stuck too deep all day, because straight runs help the ones that can find ground early. That's why I'm leaning into the on-pace types in the short stuff, especially where the leaders look like they'll get a soft time to set up their finish.
Race 1 is a case of clear pace intent and a bunch of horses that can make position, but only a couple who look like they can actually win without needing everything to go perfect. Mohawk Warrior looks set to do the job from the right spot, and Chance and Redlights On are the sort that can sit close enough to pounce if the leaders kick and then flatten.
Race 2 is the classic handicap trap, where the market favourite feels like the right answer, and then something with a better trip rhythm jumps up and steals the show. I'm still taking Shere Khan as the spine, but I'm happy to take the place angles off the others because this is the sort of race where one run can decide it. Same deal in Race 4, it's a short sprint where the right horse gets first swing at the line.
What it means for you:
Your most reliable aggression today is Place, because several races have that "leaders go, but not all of them finish the same way" pattern. So where the map says they can hold position, I'm backing it. Where the horse is in the right class but needs luck, I'm protecting with the smarter bet type or skipping it completely if the model says the odds are wrong for the risk.
