This Soft 6 at Bendigo is basically a handbrake for the sloppy movers, and a trampoline for the ones that can keep building through the middle stages. In the sprint races you want horses that can either hold position without getting trapped, or roll forward early enough that the jockey can breathe before the last turn. If you're back too far, you're relying on the speed collapsing, and on a genuine-pace Bendigo day, that can be a cruel ask.

Race 1 and Race 2 are classic maiden theatre, but the difference is Race 1 has a more chaotic gear-and-tactics vibe, where "park, get a run, don't get shuffled" matters a lot. Race 2 looks like it locks in a front-runner type, with the market actually doing the right thing, which is rare enough to enjoy.

Then the day turns into a proper punter's dilemma in the middle: Race 7 to Race 10 are open batches where one misread barrier run or one held-up trip turns your "easy" multi into a swear jar. That's why I'm going spine first, lane second, and lanes third for the fun.
