This is one of those meetings where "on pace" is a lifestyle choice. The track's Good but rain's about, so if you're too far off the speed you're doing extra work for free, and free work is for amateurs and blokes who bet on vibes.
Race 1 looks like a proper spread. Sunny Q is the market favourite for a reason, but in C5 with rain floating around, I love the idea of a nearby attacker holding position and sneaking into the pocket, that's where the value usually hides.
Race 2 is a sprint where two or three horses are basically doing the same job, Lightness Of Music and Rapid Phantom, then it becomes about who gets luck turning for home. That's why I'm backing one short-ish and respecting the other for exact boxes and place.
Race 3 is the main event. Ka Ying Rising is that "press start to win" type when he's in this sort of rhythm. But because the odds are tight, the real punter move is finding the right value in the wings, the sort that can still hit the line while everyone's staring at the $1.01.
