✗ MISS -$13 Final

Race type: Maiden Plate, 1435m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, so you want the one that can park close early or hold ground without getting shuffled
Punty read:
This is a long maiden where the leaders get to make their own luck. Waves Of Wisdom at barrier 1 is the type to give you that "I'll do the work, you just come with me" run. Colorado Sun looks like a fitter option that can handle the trip, and he's drawn to sit mid and get first crack if the speed dulls. Zippy Lion has talent and a rhythm chance, but he's the classic one where traffic and position can decide if you're laughing or staring at the replay.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Waves Of Wisdom (No.4) — $4.00 / $1.57 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P) — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 24.7% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.38x
Why Nose roll first time, gate 1, and the run style suits a slow tempo where you can still hold the line.

2. Colorado Sun (No.1) — $3.40 / $1.45 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 24.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.34x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Zippy Lion (No.5) — $6.00 / $1.90 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.8% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.11x
Why He can work into it late, but you want the race to break his way, and he's not the safest on his own.

Roughie: Nothing Special (No.3) — $12.00 / $2.85 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.7% | Place: 35.8% | Value: 1.22x
Why If the pace isn't honest and the inside traffic opens up, he can swoop past tired runners. Otherwise, he's there to hit the trifecta dream.

✗ MISS -$10 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1210m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, the kind where barrier position and early intent actually matter
Punty read:
Hampe at barrier 1 is the main character, stallion chain off and winkers on, plus a pace map that says he wants to be in the thick of it. Hampton Style is the danger, barrier 2 and midpack role, and she's the one who'll be steaming late if the leaders don't sprint away clean. The Ultimate Star is the value that can run into it if she gets an economical run, and Navajo Code is the type that loves a crack at a smaller field tempo, but he's still a rougher play than the top two.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Hampe (No.1) — $2.60 / $1.25 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 40.2% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.35x
Why Barrier 1, gear first time, early speed role, and the market is tightening like it expects a big run.

2. Hampton Style (No.4) — $4.20 / $1.62 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.7% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.76x
Why A real chance — but at $1.62 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. The Ultimate Star (No.2) — $9.00 / $2.55 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.8% | Place: 47.6% | Value: 1.53x
Why Huge overlay if she lands close, and she's the exact sort of runner that can hit the line hard in a 1210m scrap.

Roughie: Navajo Code (No.6) — $9.00 / $1.70 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.4% | Place: 55.7% | Value: 1.36x
Why Backmarker, but the pace is moderate, so there should be enough tempo for him to reel them in late.

Race type: Maiden Plate, 1020m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, so this is a sprint where speed gets paid
Punty read:
This is Yamashita's race shape. He's got that "I'm not sprinting, I'm just cruising" vibe when a race turns into a speed contest. Cheeky Sort and Brutal Advance both look like they'll be in that midpack pocket, pressing forward when the gaps open. Season Four is your roughie type, priced like a long shot but built for when the leaders stumble or the speed collapses earlier than expected.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Yamashita (No.11) — $1.82 / $1.14 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$12.30
Prob 61.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.35x
Why Genuine sprint pace helps, and the draw plus style means he's hard to run down once he's rolling.

2. Brutal Advance (No.2) — $7.00 / $2.25 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.5% | Place: 59.7% | Value: 0.43x
Why A real chance — but at $2.25 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Cheeky Sort (No.4) — $7.00 / $2.25 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.1% | Place: 64.0% | Value: 0.93x
Why On pace, and at a price where he can slide into the top 2 or 3, but win odds are thin.

Roughie: Season Four (No.10) — $10.00 / $2.80 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.7% | Place: 54.8% | Value: 1.30x
Why If the pace locks in too early, he's the kind that keeps grinding and suddenly becomes a value ticket closer.

Punty read:
Restless Spirit is the name people chase at the front end, but Nikita Zou looks like the one with the better "tracking into it" profile at $3.05. Dubai Adventure is capable, but with a bigger risk element in how far back she has to come from, it's more about whether she finds clear air. Dunwithya at barrier 4 can sit handy, but in slow tempo races it's usually the ones who can go around traffic that get the job done.

Top 3 + Roughie ($12.00 pool)

1. Nikita Zou (No.7) — $3.60 / $1.60 🏆 3RD
Bet $12.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$12.00
Prob 30.5% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.13x
Why Likely to get position without needing to be a miracle, and he's the cleanest package for the late finish.

2. Restless Spirit (No.8) — $2.55 / $1.25 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 26.3% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.83x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Dubai Adventure (No.1) — $5.50 / $1.85 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.2% | Place: 23.6% | Value: 1.15x
Why This is the rough "good luck finding the gap" type, but she can still upset if she gets room.

Roughie: Dunwithya (No.4) — $9.50 / $3.60 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.6% | Place: 17.3% | Value: 0.99x
Why If the speed falls apart and he's not stuck, he can sneak into the money. Otherwise, he's one of those "next one" jobs.

This is a chaos handicap where the pace isn't screaming, it's just there, so the horses with the right draw and the right running style get rewarded. Curly Bend and Vereeva are the two I want in my first line because they both look like they can be in the right spot without needing a miracle. Abstruse is the consistent type but he's got a bit of value risk at the price. Our Cielo is your roughie gamble, and if the race turns into a scramble and they miss him, he can run over them.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Curly Bend (No.6) — $5.00 / $2.00 🏆 2ND
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 17.4% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.11x
Why He's got that "finds a way" profile, and the sprint pace scenario suits him to stick around late.

2. Vereeva (No.8) — $5.00 / $2.00 🏆 6TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.9% | Place: 45.0% | Value: 1.02x
Why A real chance — but at $2.00 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Abstruse (No.1) — $5.00 / $2.00 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.8% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 0.89x
Why Solid, but at $5 you're paying for a maybe, and the race shape can shuffle.

Roughie: Our Cielo (No.7) — $10.00 / $3.10 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.2% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 1.12x

The Arrow is the only one in the field who looks like the race genuinely sets up for him to do the right things. It's slow enough that front runners can hold value, but not so slow that everything turns into a sprint at the 100m mark. Hardazhell is my value play because he's the type to keep grinding through the last section, and Nagadec is a sneaky place type if they go too hard early.

Top 3 + Roughie ($9.50 pool)

1. The Arrow (No.3) — $4.40 / $1.85 🏆 10TH
Bet $9.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$9.50
Prob 14.2% | Place: 51.5% | Value: 0.78x
Why Pace scenario suits, and if he gets a position without getting trapped, he's tough in the run home.

2. Hardazhell (No.8) — $9.00 / $3.00 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.4% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.28x

3. Nagadec (No.10) — $7.50 / $2.65 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.7% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.00x

Roughie: Flashy Icon (No.7) — $11.00 / $3.30 🏆 11TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.7% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 1.04x

Cougars is the one that keeps getting close when you want it to get close, and Spirits Burn Deep adds that midpack pressure where it can corner them at the end. Barbarossa is the value horse in this setup, and at $6 he's the one I can see hitting the line first if the race turns into a battle of stamina not speed. Dumebi and Alottosay are the outside sparks, but they need everything to line up, so I'm treating them like entertainment, not insurance.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

Prob 16.9% | Place: 56.2% | Value: 1.26x

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Moruya is throwing showers at us like it owes us money, but the track's still Good 4, so we're playing for pace and paying attention to anything that's firming in the market. This is the kind of day where one smooth jumper gets the cash, and one cocky "how hard can it be?" types it up and misses by a whisker.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Good 4, 1,200 to 1,660m card
Rail: Out 3m from 1000m to 380m then cut away rail
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play Speed vs Stamina, with a small wet-weather edge if showers land)
Weather: 19°C, showers lurking, gusts around 22km/h east, humidity sitting in the sticky zone (watch for Rain risk 40%+ at 07:00, 10:00, 13:00, 16:00, 19:00)
Early lane guess: Out and rolling lanes early, then give me runners who can still hit the line late
Tempo profile: A lot of these races are set up for real running, slow-ish early in the longer ones, quicker pressure in the short stuff
Jockeys to follow:
Nick Heywood: Big stayers the day wants, and he looks comfortable in the Moruya rhythm
Jess Taylor: Usually rides with intent, and when a horse is drawn to work, she'll have it in the fight
Pierre Boudvillain: Loves to put them in the right place early, and he can steal a finish when others are too safe
Stables to respect:
Ms T Bateup (runners not specified): She's got multiple runners in the maidens, and her horses often show up late
K Dryden & L Snowden (runners not specified): When they target a local day, they can have them ready to roll
Mitchell Beer & George Carpenter (runners not specified): You can see intent in the way they set up runners, especially with pace shapes

Punty's take:

Alright degenerates, this meeting's got that Moruya flavour, rail's out, track's Good 4, and the weather's doing that "maybe I'll rain, maybe I'll ruin your plan" thing. So I'm betting like a grown-up, but cheering like a sicko.

The card splits into two stories. Races 3, 4, and 7 are where the race shapes matter and the market usually makes sense. Then Races 1 and 2 are the classroom, wide-open maidens where you can get boxed, held up, or simply not find clear air. That's why I'm leaning Place more often than "hope for the win" today, especially with showers flirting around.

The real backbone though, my Big 3 Multi spine, is built on win confidence in the short race (Race 3), then two genuine pace-and-ability winners where the barriers and intent line up. If you want the day simplified, you're basically locking your ticket through Yamashita, Hampe, and Nikita Zou, then you're spreading smart where the chaos exists.

What it means for you:

If showers hit at the wrong time, the track gets grabby and those "midfield warriors" suddenly become momentum-losing passengers. So for each race, I'm focusing on the ones that can either lead or sit close and still sprint clear. In the long ones, if they're backmarker with no obvious run style, I'm treating them like a fast movie trailer, all hype, no storyline.

Bets-wise, put your aggression into the races that have a clear pace picture and where the top pick is set up to get every chance. For the rest, you can keep it sane with Each Way or Place depending on the locked instructions. Quaddie lane is the fun part, but you'll notice I've built it around the early legs being more "doable", then widened out only where it truly has to be.
