Punty's Punts
Race type: Maiden, 1650m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, Hellfighter and Harlem Tickle should have the best "can find a spot" looks early, then it's finishing power
Punty read:
This is a Slow Pace on Soft 5, so you don't get to cruise, you get to hold position without burning fuel. Hellfighter (No.1) is the right kind of favourite, he's coming into it with the map and the fitness to keep grinding through the middle stages, and he's not the type to melt if the rain makes it awkward. Reveillon (No.6) has the soft-track staying power and has the look of a horse that could find a run late if the leaders bunch up. Isotropic (No.5) is your value danger, the type that can get involved once the field starts to spread and the kick becomes messy.
Harlem Tickle (No.3) is the roughie because Slow Pace plus soft footing can create a backmarker seam. If they slow down late and the run comes down the outside, she gets into the action. If the leaders go through and stay coordinated, she's going to have to work for it.
Top 3 + Roughie ($11.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Hellfighter (No.1) — $1.70 / $1.03 🏆 2ND
Bet $11.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$11.00
Prob 39.4% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.86x
Why Best profile to handle a slow, wet 1650, he should get a rhythm and keep finding the line.
2. Isotropic (No.5) — $7.50 / $1.55 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.0% | Place: 58.3% | Value: 1.48x
Why A real chance — but at $1.55 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Morosini (No.8) — $3.90 / $1.35 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.7% | Place: 58.5% | Value: 1.27x
Why Solid soft-track and finishing type, just not the bet price I want to throw at the rain.
Roughie: Harlem Tickle (No.3) — $17.00 / $2.90 🏆 7TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.0% | Place: 22.3% | Value: 0.84x
Why Roughie needs things to go her way in the late split, perfect storm stuff.
Race type: Class 1, 1010m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Star Of Lily is the one to control from barrier 1
Punty read:
This sprint is built for a leader who doesn't panic and doesn't get dragged into a speed duel. Star Of Lily (No.5) is that horse. Barrier 1 on a wet track is gold if she breaks clean and keeps it together, because 1010m doesn't give you time to fix mistakes. Melodia Perfecta (No.4) looks like a tracker too, she's got the class and usually goes through phases when the tempo is right.
Noteabeel (No.2) is the roughie route because of the gear shift, that cross-over nose band coming off first time can wake them up if they were pulling or listening too much to the surroundings. But she's still a "you want a clear passage" type, so I like her for the Place more than the win.
Top 3 + Roughie ($18.50 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Star Of Lily (No.5) — $1.82 / $1.09 🏆 WINNER
Bet $12.50 Win — ✓ Won, net +$10.25
Prob 43.7% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.06x
Why She's got the pace job from the inside, and on a Soft 5 sprint that often decides the whole story.
2. Melodia Perfecta (No.4) — $3.90 / $1.45 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.5% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.87x
Why A real chance — but at $1.45 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Remy's Bro (No.1) — $7.50 / $2.05 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.97x
Why Good veteran profile, but this looks like Star Of Lily's kind of race.
Roughie: Noteabeel (No.2) — $9.50 / $2.40 🏆 8TH
Bet $6.00 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$6.00
Prob 6.7% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.79x
Why Gear change plus a shot at tracking leaders, she can easily slide into the money if there's any give in the deck.
Race type: Open, 1010m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, leaders set it up hard
Punty read:
This is a proper "front quarter decides it" 1010m. Teylu (No.2) is the leader in the map and she's the one I want when the pace is genuine, because the race shape stops the field from wandering. Keikoku (No.3) is dangerous because she's right in that price band and can capitalise if the tempo softens late.
Donwon (No.7) is the sort of honest speed type who can run a cheeky race if the leaders cough up a little. And Fangela (No.1) is the roughie for an upset if she gets that right pocket and the sprint becomes a stumble-fest.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.92 pool)
1. Teylu (No.2) — $3.50 / $1.50 🏆 3RD
Bet $10.92 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.92
Prob 30.8% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.21x
Why Genuine pace, she gets to use her speed, and wet-track sprints often reward the consistent forward riders.
2. Keikoku (No.3) — $3.90 / $1.57 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.82x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Donwon (No.7) — $6.00 / $1.90 🏆 6TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.7% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.19x
Why Good chance to run top-three, but the value is spread too thin for my wallet.
Roughie: Fangela (No.1) — $11.00 / $3.60 🏆 7TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.1% | Place: 22.4% | Value: 0.99x
Why Needs racing luck in a genuine tempo. If it turns into a sprint dash, she's less forgiving.
Race type: Maiden, 1010m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Designed Spindle is listed as advantaged but Czech Me is your class anchor from barrier 1
Punty read:
Czech Me (No.3) is the standout because everything points to a lead-and-hold job. Barrier 1 on a wet sprint at Moruya can turn into a cheat code if she balances up early. The rest are swinging for the fences. Rebel Terra (No.6) is the kind of horse that can sneak into the top three, but at the prices it's more of a "watch the line" situation than a "strap in the win" situation.
De Razilly (No.4) has the right general profile for a top-three showing, but the race might be locked into Czech Me and whoever gets the best run off her. Dubai Jorge (No.2) is your roughie type, gear changes can spark a debut or resumption, and Soft 5 can turn those into surprises.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Czech Me (No.3) — $1.40 / $1.03 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$6.00
Prob 66.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.28x
Why Barrier 1, the map is friendly, and Soft 5 suits a horse that can get organised quickly.
2. Rebel Terra (No.6) — $29.00 / $2.65 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.64x
Why A real chance — but at $2.65 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. De Razilly (No.4) — $9.50 / $2.45 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.8% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.44x
Why Too risky on win for this setup, even if she's capable of being involved late.
Roughie: Dubai Jorge (No.2) — $29.00 / $2.75 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.4% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.39x
Why Needs a chaos run. Soft track, gear tweaks, but not enough for a win bet.
Race type: Benchmark 74, 1650m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Think I Do is on pace at barrier 1, Rileycat is the value grinder late
Punty read:
This one's a 1650 where the first bend matters, then the track does the rest. Think I Do (No.6) is on the speed from barrier 1, and on Soft 5, it's often the horse that controls the early rhythm that sets up the run. Rileycat (No.4) is the value play because she's got that run-on profile and can pick up late, especially if the leaders start to tire in the wet.
Oneforian (No.3) is a live on-pacer type too, but this looks like it comes down to who holds momentum through the middle stages. Beauer (No.9) is your roughie route if the race turns into a chaotic finish and she finds clear air.
Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)
1. Think I Do (No.6) — $3.50 / $1.57 🏆 3RD
Bet $7.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$7.50
Prob 23.1% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 0.95x
Why Barrier 1 on a wet 1650, she can dictate, and I want that rhythm in the mud.
2. Rileycat (No.4) — $4.80 / $1.80 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 22.4% | Place: 49.2% | Value: 1.27x
Why A real chance — but at $1.80 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Oneforian (No.3) — $4.00 / $1.65 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.5% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.01x
Why Can be there late, just not enough to take the win price risk.
Roughie: Beauer (No.9) — $19.00 / $3.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.2% | Place: 21.0% | Value: 0.84x
Why Needs an upset plot twist and clear running. Roughie territory for a reason.
Race type: Open, 1300m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Hurry Miss and Gooloo Bucky are around it, but this is about who finds the right pocket
Punty read:
Race 6 is about positioning and not getting stuck. Let's Go Again (No.11) is on pace and the big thing here is the sort of ride that wins on Soft 5 without getting trapped. Hurry Miss (No.12) is the danger runner, she's the kind that can keep working into the lane if the track is really gripping.
Dumebi (No.8) is the short-priced mystery in the middle, but I'm treating her as more of a live on-bet than a main win plan. Zaragoza (No.7) is your roughie type if the leaders snip up early and she can take advantage late, but she's more place-lean than win-lean today.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Let's Go Again (No.11) — $3.00 / $1.50 🏆 2ND
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 31.9% | Place: 61.5% | Value: 0.90x
Why On pace, track should reward the forward run, and I like the way she gets into the race early.
2. Hurry Miss (No.12) — $4.60 / $1.90 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 22.6% | Place: 60.3% | Value: 1.31x
Why A real chance — but at $1.90 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Dumebi (No.8) — $5.00 / $2.00 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.4% | Place: 53.7% | Value: 0.77x
Why Short price can be a trap. She's live, but I'm not overshooting.
Roughie: Zaragoza (No.7) — $10.00 / $3.20 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.0% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.21x
Why Roughie chance if the race breaks wrong for the on-pace brigade and the back markers get a look.
Race type: Maiden, 1200m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Silverwater Kid is leading, Coco Dior is stalking in the mix
Punty read:
Coco Dior (No.5) is the one they're all coming for. She's got the class to handle Soft 5, and that price is right where she can still sprint away if the field doesn't knock itself about. Silverwater Kid (No.3) is dangerous because she's in the speed map and can absolutely hang on for a place if the race is frantic.
Ponzi Scheme (No.12) and Cheeky Sort (No.4) are the other ones you watch for a sneaky top three, especially if the lead horses kick off early and get mowed down. But the main story is Coco Dior, she looks like the "hit the line" type.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Coco Dior (No.5) — $2.40 / $1.35 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$21.00
Prob 46.8% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.19x
Why Stays switched on and handles the wet. With genuine pace, she gets the perfect stalking lane.
2. Silverwater Kid (No.3) — $5.00 / $1.90 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.7% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.60x
Why A real chance — but at $1.90 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Ponzi Scheme (No.12) — $7.00 / $2.50 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.7% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.00x
Why Needs the race to split late. More of a value watch than a win bet.
Roughie: Mr Biggles Worth (No.11) — $19.00 / $2.50 🏆 9TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.8% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.16x
Why Has a place case, but win needs a bigger gap than what I'm seeing.
Race type: Benchmark 58, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, but it's a scramble, speed is scattered across the first half
Punty read:
This is the kind of race where the "favourite" might win, but the betting is about who can handle the wet ground and still hit the line. Angel In The Wind (No.8) is my pick because her style fits the Soft 5 better than most, and she's got the profile to run through the field if the inside gets sticky. Kool Kade (No.3) is the other standout because she's right there, but at very short odds she's more of a follow if you're chasing a place and not a cash-out win.
Showtime Maggie (No.12) is the danger at a price, she can absolutely plug away late. Dunwithya (No.11) is your roughie, her type of race is usually "you didn't see it coming" in these wet 1200s.
Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)
1. Angel In The Wind (No.8) — $7.00 / $2.50 🏆 4TH
Bet $7.50 Each Way ($3.75W + $3.75P) — ✗ Lost, net -$7.50
Prob 21.7% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.62x
Why Wet-track runner who can run on, and the race shape should give her a lane to hit the line.
2. Kool Kade (No.3) — $2.85 / $1.45 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.7% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.55x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Showtime Maggie (No.12) — $8.00 / $2.75 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.5% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.57x
Why Danger for trifecta stuff, but I'm sticking to the EW spine.
Roughie: Dunwithya (No.11) — $21.00 / $4.40 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 3.9% | Place: 22.3% | Value: 1.05x
Why Roughie is for the "track chaos" script, needs the race to break for her run.
That's the ticket as I struck it — the legs below are exactly what ran, no rewriting history.
Smart: 1,8,5 / 5,4,1,7 / 3,2,7 / 3,6,4,2 (144 combos x $0.14 = $20.00) -- 14% flexi

Smart: 6,4,3 / 11,12,8,7 / 5,3,4,12,11 / 3,8,12 (180 combos x $0.28 = $50.40) -- 28% flexi

The day's multi leans on three win legs across the card.

2 - Teylu (Race 3, No.2)✗ — $3.20
3 - Czech Me (Race 4, No.3)✓ Won — $1.30

Punty's Early Mail
Rightio Loose Units, Moruya at Soft 5 with the heavens doing that "hold my beer" routine, this is the sort of day where the turf turns your short-range instincts into long-range regret. Still, I've done the homework, I've got the lanes sorted, and I'm ready to press send before the rain starts getting clever.
This card is pace-led in the sprints early, then it gets proper "mud maths" later, where class and track-reading matter more than vibes. The rail is True, the track's holding water, and you want horses that can either get position early or keep grinding late without hitting the bog like a shopping trolley in a puddle.
My spine today is a straightforward "win bets with backbone" plan. Big 3 first, then we sprinkle the chaos like Milo into hot milk, gentle at first, then all in if the race shape lines up.
Moruya BIG 3 + MULTI = your bedrock.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Moruya, 8 race card, tight little battlefield
Rail: True
Official going: Soft 5 (expected to play wet and sticky, best form runners with position)
Weather: Rain, 18°C, humidity 79%, wind 0km/h N (watch for more showers popping up across the day)
Early lane guess: Early Quaddie looks banker-heavy up to R4, then Quaddie turns into the usual chaos merchants
Tempo profile: Slow to genuine in the earlier races, then the sprint races get faster and more competitive once they hit the turn
Jockeys to follow:
Blaike Mc Dougall: gets them travelling into the race, good for these wet-track positioning jobs.
Jean Van Overmeire: when she's on the right horse, she rides it like the race is already won.
Coriah Keatings: pace control type, especially when the map says "go now".
Stables to respect:
K Dryden & L Snowden (3 runners): tends to have them forward and can handle the sticky conditions.
Michael Gatty (2 runners): often spots a wet-track chance, and horses come through strongly in these setups.
N J Olive (2 runners): with the rain, she's the one to trust for the "this will suit" plays.
Punty's take:
Race 1 is a Soft 5 maiden plate where the speed map matters, Hellfighter is the sort of favourite you back with a bit of faith because it's not random, he's where he needs to be and the class is better than the price suggests. Behind him, Isotropic and Morosini are the value engines, they just need clear galloping room and a run that doesn't turn into a traffic jam. Harlem Tickle is your "if the race goes walkies and the backmarker finds a seam" roughie.
Then you've got R2 through R3, where the sprints are all about position, and the wet track punishes anything that starts slowly or gets stuck without options. Star Of Lily is the one to lead the day from the front, and Teylu is the honest type when the pace is genuine, no hiding place.
By R4, it's full sentry mode, Czech Me is the one that should be in front of the judge's photo. After that, the day opens up, Race 6 is where you want the horse that keeps doing its job, Hurry Miss is the danger if the track turns into a running contest, and Race 8 is classic wet-track chaos, Angel In The Wind is built for a day like this.
What it means for you:
Bet like there's rain coming, because there is. Protect your quaddie legs with the obvious speed and class anchors in the earlier races, then accept that later legs are where the race shape and clear running decide everything.
For Win bets, I'm backing the horses that either lead, press, or have the soft-track profile to keep grinding. For Place, the best way to survive the day is to take the horse that can run into the money even if it doesn't win by a street.
So here's the game plan: stick to the Big 3 for the singles, use the sequence lanes for structure, and don't overthink the chaos. When the map says go, you get on.
