Heavy 10 at Te Aroha is basically a movie where everyone's trying to do parkour and the floor is jelly. You want horses that handle the muck, and you want riders who keep their patience. The speed won't be flying, so it's more "who's still got a button to press at the end" than "who's quickest off the corner".

The day's got three main characters. Race 2 is a straight-up turf grinder where the market knows one horse, Race 3 is the proper open sprint-finish chaos where class and timing matter, and Race 6 is a handicap where the race shape is everything. Then after that, it's about not getting cute, just backing the ones that actually suit this track, this trip, and this sort of tempo.
