Punty's take:
This meeting's basically two different tracks in one day. Races 1 and 3 are honest speed races, rail is assisting, and the leaders aren't there for moral support. If you're not near the front, you're spending the whole race trying to "make ground" like you're in a movie montage that never quite hits the slow-mo finish.
Then races 2, 4, and 5 turn into chess. Slow tempo means barriers matter, bunched fields matter more, and if a horse gets an easy run with clear air, it can absolutely break hearts at a decent price. Also, watch for the gear moves, because this mob loves a little tweak that wakes a horse up just enough to go from "well, he's trying" to "oh shit, he's got there".
For today, my backbone is the Big 3, then we go race-by-race with one main pin and a value roughie. Keep it simple, keep it nasty.
What it means for you:
Be aggressive in the speed races, but not stupid aggressive. In Race 1, you want the honest on-pacer with the right market price angle, and you protect with the next likely leader, Mr Pointer. In Race 3, You Count is the kind of horse that wins ugly in these conditions, so you ride that straight.
In the slow-tempo races, the game changes. You're not paying for dominance, you're paying for a trip. That's why Race 2 leans on I'm Kenough, and Race 4 leans on Hemsted and Blackhill Kitty as the place-friendly chaos insurance. Race 5 is a tiny field, so it's more like "who's the best jumper in the pool" and less like a full-blown punting buffet.
