Punty's Early Mail
For all of Punty's tips for Warwick Farm, head to https://punty.ai/tips/warwick-farm-2026-10-28
Rightio Form Freaks, Warwick Farm on a Good 4 with six races from 1100m to 2400m and a rail out 5m on the 1000m, then 3m for the rest. It's overcast with no rain on the day and a light 11.1km/h gust, so the going won't be the story. The story is pace. Two of the six races are slow-pace affairs where nobody's dying to lead, and the two Genuine Pace races have a single leader sitting out in front. Plenty of horses here want the race to fall apart in front of them, and I reckon a few of them get exactly that.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Warwick Farm, 1100m to 2400m card
Rail: +5m 1000m - W/Post, +3m Remainder
Official going: Good 4 (Nil last 24hrs, 5.5mm last 7 days)
Weather: Overcast, live gusts 11.1km/h
Early lane guess: unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Race 1 and Race 2 are both Slow Pace. Race 3 is Moderate Pace. Race 4 is Moderate Pace with two leaders, Hellabella and Ballet D'light. Race 5 and Race 6 are Genuine Pace, with Love Story the lone leader in Race 5 and Asgarda the only leader in Race 6.
Jockeys to follow:
Zac Lloyd: Six rides, and he's on Nkosi in Race 2, Komodo Dragon in Race 3 and She's An Artist in Race 6, three of our staked horses.
Tim Clark: Six rides, including Love Story in Race 5, the shortest-priced horse on the card, and Hellabella in Race 4 on the lead.
Siena Grima: Five rides, with Naina in Race 3 the one I'll be watching most closely from her book.
Stables to respect:
C J Waller (10 runners): Ten runners is a lot of silks in one meeting, and Quarterback in Race 1 with James Mc Donald is the one that matters for the staking. Ballet D'light also sits on the lead in Race 4.
Bjorn Baker (5 runners): Ellipsis in Race 4 is the staked horse, and Chilli Margs in Race 5 and Amazing Eagle in Race 6 are the other two of his to think about.
G Waterhouse & A Bott (4 runners): Love Story in Race 5 is in the Big 3 and Hellabella in Race 4 is on the lead, with Savvy Spy and Criteria in Race 2 keeping the stable busy.
Punty's take: Speed is the thing to read this meeting by. Races 1 and 2 are slow-pace races, which means the backmarkers are going to be hunting for the gap all afternoon and most of the field is going to be stuck in traffic with the pace under them. Race 1 has no clear leader on the map, just two on-pacers, and the Roaring Sun is the one that can get a sniff if the tempo stays soft. Race 2 is the same story: Nkosi is the one horse that can sit handy on a slow tempo, and everything behind him has to come to him.
Race 3 is moderate and Komodo Dragon is the on-pacer that makes the race tick, but the map has the tempo working against him on paper, which is exactly why the price is what it is and I'm happy to back him anyway. Race 4 is the one I'd circle as a potential mess: Hellabella and Ballet D'light both want to be in front in a sprint, and whoever gets the trip wins it. Race 5 is the banker, plain and simple. Love Story is on his own in front in a Genuine Pace race and he's the shortest price on the card for a reason. Race 6 is the open race of the day, with Asgarda alone on the lead and a bunch of genuine chances chasing him down.
What it means for you: Be aggressive on Love Story and Komodo Dragon, both staked on the Win, because they're the two most likely to get you home in the Big 3. Protect the bank in Race 1 and Race 2 by keeping the staked horses to the Win only and not chasing place value on the tight prices. Race 4 and Race 6 are where the value sits and where you want to be patient, because those two races have the most ways to finish. Keep the quaddie tight through Race 5 and open out Race 6, since that's where the chaos lives and where the ticket is going to pay if one of the outsiders runs down a leader.
PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI
These are the three bets the day leans on.
1 - Love Story (Race 5, No.6) — $1.47
Why Tim Clark on a horse that's the only leader in a Genuine Pace race, and he won his last start at Randwick-Kensington. He's the shortest price on the card, so he's the anchor of the multi, not the windfall.
2 - Komodo Dragon (Race 3, No.5) — $2.24
Why Zac Lloyd on a horse that sits on the speed, with his last-up run at Eagle Farm ending in interference. He's been dangerous at Randwick-Kensington and Canterbury, and his price has been firming, so the money is backing him.
3 - Quarterback (Race 1, No.12) — $3.90
Why James Mc Donald on a backmarker in a slow-pace maiden, which is the one thing I don't love about him. He's yet to win on good, but he's been placed in all three of his runs on good ground, and the market has come in from $4.80 to $3.90.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × 12.84 = $128.40
Race 1 – Asahi Super Dry Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace. Quarterback is BACKMARKER, The Roaring Sun is BACKMARKER, Snitzel's Girl is MIDFIELD, Ligularia is MIDFIELD, My Ju Ju is ON-PACE and Brutelli is ON-PACE. No runner is mapped as the leader, so expect a slow beginning and a shuffle around the first bend.
Punty read: Quarterback is the bet because James Mc Donald is booked on a horse that has been placed in all three of its runs on good ground, and the market has backed him in from $4.80 to $3.90. The slow tempo does him no favours on the map, and I'm not pretending otherwise, but in a maiden with a soft pace he gets to move late. The danger is The Roaring Sun, who's a backmarker with the fastest sectionals on the late count and sits in the pace-advantaged bracket. Snitzel's Girl has blinkers on for the first time and has run seconds and thirds at Rosehill, so she's the one I'd want to see at the finish. Ligularia's market has gone from $12.00 to $9.00 with a HEAVY move, which is money coming, and she's 2kg down from last start, so she's one to keep an eye on for the stake-free roughie.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Quarterback (No.12) — $3.90 / $1.72
Bet $13.00 Win, return $50.70
Prob 28.8% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.12x Steady since tip
Why James Mc Donald's rides here are a fair chance, and a backmarker in a slow maiden can get the run of the race if the leaders dawdle. He's been placed in all three runs on good ground, which is the right kind of consistency for a maiden at this trip.
2. The Roaring Sun (No.13) — $4.20 / $1.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.2% | Place: 59.9% | Value: 0.72x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.80 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Snitzel's Girl (No.16) — $4.20 / $1.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.63x Steady since tip
Why Zac Lloyd, blinkers on first time, and her last-start Rosehill run was a second at 2nd/12. She's been running on well at Rosehill and the market hasn't cooled on her at all.
Roughie: Ligularia (No.6) — $9.00 / $2.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.8% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.70x Steady since tip
Why Chad Schofield takes a midfield horse on the Good 4 track that has the fastest time on the card's sectionals, and the market has come in from $12.00 to $9.00 with HEAVY money. If the tempo sits on a fast late burst, she's the one who finishes on the outside and nobody sees her coming.
Race 2 – Yarraman Park Stud (Bm78)
Race type: Benchmark 78, 2400m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace. Nkosi is ON-PACE, Knights Armour is BACKMARKER and the pace is advantaged for him, Andron is MIDFIELD, Criteria is MIDFIELD, Savvy Spy is MIDFIELD, Sonic Bender is BACKMARKER and Mr Fabulous is BACKMARKER. Nkosi is the only horse on the early speed, so the race is his to lead or sit on if he can.
Punty read: Nkosi is the bet because he's the one horse with a real claim to the front-end berth on a slow tempo, and Zac Lloyd is booked. The worry is weight: he's 0 from 3 at 59-60kg, so I'm not ignoring that, but he's won on good ground and placed in Rosehill's last 2400m run. Savvy Spy is the danger, with the market backing him from $3.20 to $2.74, and he's 4kg down from last start. Criteria is 3kg down from last start and his place price looks sharp, but he's a No Bet here. Mr Fabulous has blinkers on again and the market has gone from $51.00 to $34.00 HEAVY, which is one to watch rather than to back.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Nkosi (No.2) — $4.40 / $2.05
Bet $15.00 Win, return $66.00
Prob 25.8% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.14x Steady since tip
Why Zac Lloyd on a horse that sits handy on a slow tempo, and he's the one the slow pace suits. His J-HOT and T-HOT flags are real, and the weight is the thing to watch, not the trip.
2. Savvy Spy (No.5) — $2.74 / $1.52
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.64x Steady since tip
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Criteria (No.4) — $7.00 / $2.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.8% | Place: 26.5% | Value: 1.25x Steady since tip
Why Regan Bayliss on a midfield horse who's been placed at Kembla Grange and Rosehill, with a 3kg drop in weight from last start. The drift from $5.00 to $7.00 is the market cooling, but he's in the place frame if the leader cracks.
Roughie: Knights Armour (No.1) — $9.00 / $3.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.7% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 0.87x Steady since tip
Why Rebecca Bronett Prag on a backmarker in the pace-advantaged bracket, with the fastest 400m sectional on the card's late count. If Nkosi and the leaders hit trouble at the bend, Knights Armour is the one who runs on wide.
Race 3 – Ranvet (Bm78)
Race type: Benchmark 78, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace. Komodo Dragon is ON-PACE, Verbil is MIDFIELD, Naina is MIDFIELD, Felix Majestic is ON-PACE, Hanau is BACKMARKER and pace-advantaged, Stallone is ON-PACE and Hellbent On You is BACKMARKER.
Punty read: Komodo Dragon is the bet because Zac Lloyd is on a horse that sits on the speed and last-up was spoiled by interference at Eagle Farm. He's won at Randwick-Kensington and has a 2-win record on good ground, and the market has backed him from $2.40 to $2.24. The moderate tempo is against him on paper, and I won't dress that up. Verbil has three first-up wins and is the danger on the hit-out form, and Naina has the best place value for my money. Hanau is the one who has the fastest sectionals in the race and sits at the back, so if the tempo is more honest than it looks, he's the bloke who comes from the clouds.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Komodo Dragon (No.5) — $2.24 / $1.15
Bet $13.00 Win, return $29.12
Prob 32.3% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.72x Steady since tip
Why Zac Lloyd on a horse who gets the speed in a moderate race, and he's won first-up and second-up for the stable. The market is still backing him, and the interference excuse last start is the kind a sharp punter forgives.
2. Verbil (No.3) — $5.20 / $1.72
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.4% | Place: 54.4% | Value: 0.90x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.72 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Naina (No.9) — $8.50 / $2.45
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.3% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.22x Steady since tip
Why Siena Grima on a midfield horse who's been placed in three of his last four good-track runs and has been strong in the market since. He's a good one to watch on the stable form.
Roughie: Hanau (No.4) — $20.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 3.9% | Place: 20.7% | Value: 0.78x Steady since tip
Why William A Stanley on a backmarker with the fastest 600m and 400m sectionals in the race. If the moderate tempo turns into a sprint in the straight, he's the one who lands the cheeky finish.
Race 4 – All Too Hard @ Vinery Stud (Bm72)
Race type: Benchmark 72, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace. Hellabella and Ballet D'light are the two leaders, Ellipsis is ON-PACE, Show Business is ON-PACE and pace-advantaged, Found The Gold is MIDFIELD and pace-advantaged, Kujenga is ON-PACE and Manukau is MIDFIELD.
Punty read: Ellipsis is the bet because Dylan Gibbons is on a horse who sits just off the speed in a sprint and has been placed at Rosehill over 1100m. He's 6kg up from last start, which I don't love, but Bjorn Baker's stable is running hot. Ballet D'light is the danger, with James Mc Donald up and a last start win at Rosehill 1100m, and the market has him firming from $4.80 to $4.40. Hellabella and Ballet D'light both want the lead, which should make the race fast early and set it up for the closers. Manukau has blinkers off for the first time and the fastest sectionals on the late count, so he's the one I'd want on the card for a bounce.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Ellipsis (No.2) — $4.40 / $1.65
Bet $10.50 Win, return $46.20
Prob 25.3% | Place: 52.7% | Value: 1.11x Steady since tip
Why Dylan Gibbons on an on-pacer in a sprint, with a record that's been placed at Rosehill over 1100m. Bjorn Baker's stable is in hot form, and the market's backing him in from the early price.
2. Ballet D'light (No.11) — $4.40 / $1.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 21.7% | Place: 53.6% | Value: 0.95x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.65 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Scenic Point (No.3) — $4.60 / $1.70
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.63x Steady since tip
Why Chad Schofield on a midfield horse with a second and a first in the last two starts, and the market has him as a live roughie-type at the price. He's one for the place end of the ticket.
Roughie: Hellabella (No.7) — $13.00 / $3.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.8% | Place: 24.6% | Value: 0.88x Steady since tip
Why Tim Clark on a leader with a 2kg drop in weight from last start, and her distance form is solid with a first and a second in her last two runs. If she gets an uncontested lead and the two chasers cook each other, she's the one who wins from the front.
Race 5 – Toyota Forklifts (Bm72)
Race type: Benchmark 72, 1400m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace. Love Story is the only leader, Chilli Margs is BACKMARKER, Reflect is ON-PACE and pace-disadvantaged, Live is BACKMARKER and pace-advantaged, Glastonbury Girl is MIDFIELD and pace-advantaged, Diddle Dumpling is MIDFIELD and Blitzgal is MIDFIELD.
Punty read: Love Story is the bet and he's the banker of the day. Tim Clark is on a horse that's the lone leader in a genuine tempo, and his last start was a win at Randwick-Kensington. He's the shortest price on the card, so the return on $13.00 is small, but he's the one I'd least like to see beaten. The danger is Live, who has been backed from $20.00 to $13.00 with HEAVY money, a backmarker in the pace-advantaged bracket with the fastest sectionals in the race. Chilli Margs is the one who'd run on if the pace is genuine, and Reflect is ON-PACE but on a tempo that doesn't favour him on paper.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Love Story (No.6) — $1.47 / $1.04
Bet $13.00 Win, return $19.11
Prob 41.7% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.61x Steady since tip
Why Tim Clark on the lone leader in a genuine-pace race, and his last start was a win at Randwick-Kensington. He's the shortest price on the card, so it's a protect-the-bank bet, not a windfall.
2. Chilli Margs (No.4) — $8.00 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.8% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.94x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.15 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Reflect (No.3) — $14.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.7% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.22x Steady since tip
Why Chad Schofield on an on-pacer who's been placed at Warwick Farm and Randwick-Kensington, and the drift from $11.00 to $14.00 is the market cooling on him. Pace-disadvantaged on paper, so I'd rather use him for the place than the win.
Roughie: Diddle Dumpling (No.1) — $15.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.8% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 1.02x Steady since tip
Why Siena Grima on a midfield horse with winkers off for the first time, and she's been placed at Warwick Farm over 1200m. If Love Story is run down in the straight, the Diddle Dumpling finish is the kind you can get from a horse that's been unlucky.
Race 6 – TAB (Bm88)
Race type: Benchmark 88, 1200m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace. Asgarda is the only leader, Hillier is ON-PACE and pace-advantaged, She's An Artist is MIDFIELD and pace-advantaged, Cantiamo is MIDFIELD and pace-advantaged, Amazing Eagle is MIDFIELD, Navy Pilot is MIDFIELD, Regimental Colours is ON-PACE and pace-disadvantaged, World Alliance is BACKMARKER and pace-disadvantaged, and Lady Extreme is BACKMARKER.
Punty read: She's An Artist is the bet because Zac Lloyd has her on a midfield horse who's been placed in her last two runs and has form on the Rosehill track. She's 6kg up from last start, so the weight is the one concern, but she's been strong at this grade with three seconds and a third from her last few. Hillier is the danger, ON-PACE in the pace-advantaged bracket with James Mc Donald and a win at Rosehill 900m last start. Asgarda is the lone leader with blinkers no longer a question, and the market has him at $11.00. Amazing Eagle is the roughie with the path: a midfield closer in a genuine tempo who could come home if the leader gets run down.
Top 3 + Roughie ($8.50 pool)
1. She's An Artist (No.4) — $2.60 / $1.40
Bet $8.50 Win, return $22.10
Prob 19.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.50x Steady since tip
Why Zac Lloyd on a midfield horse with a strong Good 9 record and a Class 5 run of three seconds and a third, so she's the one with the most consistent profile. The weight is the caveat.
2. Hillier (No.6) — $6.40 / $2.25
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.7% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.94x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.25 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Cantiamo (No.13) — $9.00 / $2.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.9% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.98x Steady since tip
Why Jason Collett on a midfield horse with a 6kg drop from last start and a good record at 1100m and 1200m. The market has him firming from $9.50 to $9.00, so someone's backing him.
Roughie: Amazing Eagle (No.9) — $9.40 / $2.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.4% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.98x Steady since tip
Why Dylan Gibbons on a midfield closer with the third-fastest 600m on the card, and he's the one who gets the run if the leader Asgarda goes too hard. He's 0 from 3 at 60-61kg, which is my biggest worry, so I'd keep him to the place end of any ticket.
SEQUENCE LANES
QUADDIE (R3–R6)
Smart: 5,3,8,9 / 11,2,3 / 6,4 / 4,6,9,13 (96 combos x $0.3646 = $35.00) -- 36.5% flexi
Punty's take: Love Story and Chilli Margs keep the Race 5 leg tight, while Race 3 and Race 6 are the open legs that will decide whether this pays. Moderate risk with the flexi at 36.5% against a 30% floor, and short-priced winners rarely pay, so a quaddie like this needs a $5 to $10 winner in one of the open legs to earn its keep.
NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK
1 - Live's gear change and the heavy money
Winkers are on for the first time and the tongue tie is on again for Live, and the market has come from $20.00 to $13.00. She's a backmarker in the pace-advantaged bracket with the fastest sectionals in Race 5, so watch the market into the jump.
2 - Mr Fabulous's blinkers and the market
Blinkers are on again for Mr Fabulous and the market has come from $51.00 to $34.00 with HEAVY money. He's rated a WARNING at 56-58kg with 0 from 4 in that weight range, so the money is ahead of the form.
3 - The Titanic of Race 5
Love Story at $1.47 is the Titanic of the card: everyone reckons he's unsinkable, and the only thing that sinks the ticket is a bad start nobody has seen yet.
FINAL WORD FROM THE SICKO SANCTUARY
Warwick Farm is a day for the punters who read the map before they read the form, so put the pace first and the prices second. Back the Love Story, keep the rest tight, and if the speed collapses in Race 6, you'll know who to thank.
