Rightio Loose Units, Wodonga's set for a Heavy slog, rail out 3m, and the kind of track where speed matters but manners matter more. This is the sort of card where the "obvious" horse can win, and the wrong bloke can still get mugged in the last 100m by a horse that had a lovely trip and a wet-track heartbeat.
Today's spine is simple, three winners you can build around, then we thread a few placey-value headaches through the card. Race 4 is Ashina's home run, Race 1 is a proper early statement from Brilliant Bull Ant, and Race 8 with Torn is a "parked on the speed, then keep rolling" type affair. If you can't handle that, go bet the pokies and tell everyone you were "just vibing".

Heavy 8 at Wodonga is like trying to run a gym session in sand shoes. The horses that look "too ordinary" on paper can still bolt if the leaders set it up and they travel sweet. But the day is still about pace, because on Heavy you lose rhythm fast. If you get stuck behind a wall or your horse never gets organised, you can watch it hit the wall like a bad Tinder date.
My big read is that the market is doing that Heavy thing where it moves hard towards horses that can hold position. Race 1's Brilliant Bull Ant is the market favourite and my top pick vibe matches that, then Race 4 is the sort of race where Ashina is basically built for this surface. In the middle legs (R5 to R7), you've got enough chaos to keep it interesting, so I'm leaning on the locked place angles and only grabbing one roughie per race where the story really lines up.
