For all of Punty's tips for Beaudesert, head to https://punty.ai/tips/beaudesert-2026-04-25

Rightio Loose Units, Beaudesert’s serving up a Soft 5 with showers hanging around and the rail true, so this card’s got a bit of grease on it without turning into a full swamp. The pattern looks like one of those days where the handy types get first crack, the backmarkers need a bit of luck, and the punters who try to outsmart the map too early are gonna cop a right kick in the teeth.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Beaudesert, 1200m to 2450m card
Rail: True Entire
Official going: Soft 5 (expected to play fair, but handy runners should get the first say)
Weather: Showers, 19°C, humidity 83% (watch for fresh cut-up and a bit of late sting)
Early lane guess: True rail, with the front half of the card likely favouring on-pace runners
Tempo profile: Plenty of genuine speed in the sprints, a couple of muddling middle-distance races, and the staying legs look like they’ll punish the weak-hearted
Jockeys to follow:
Ms Georgina Cartwright — keeps finding the right gear and the right spot in the run.
Jaden Lloyd — gets plenty of map-friendly rides and usually gives them a decent crack.
Danny Peisley — on a bunch of live chances and not afraid to get rolling when it suits.
Stables to respect:
Billy Healey (3 runners) — has a few live ones with the right sort of map.
Tony & Maddysen Sears (2 runners) — a couple that are firming for a reason, not just random bookie wobble.
Gregory Cornish (3 runners) — always worth a look when the races turn tactical and awkward.

Punty's take:

This is one of those Beaudesert cards where the form guide looks tidy enough until the barriers go up and then the whole thing starts behaving like the final scene of Mad Max. The Soft 5 and true rail means you want horses that can travel in the first half of the field or at least land close enough to strike without burning petrol like a stolen Commodore.

The money trail is interesting too. There are a few serious moves across the card - Linas Reel, So Be Inspired, The Catch, Keep It Loki, Save The Roses - and when the market starts poking around in the right spots on a wet-ish day, it’s usually telling you where the real runners are. The races with genuine pressure look the best for exotics; the races with short-priced anchors still need respect, but you don’t want to get cute and start inventing miracles.

What it means for you:

I’d be leaning into the races where the map and the market agree, and being a bit colder on the ones where the favourite is short but not screaming value. The early quaddie is a proper bar fight - if you’re alive there, you’ve earned your beer. The back end of the card is cleaner, with a couple of stronger anchors and a better chance to stitch together a sensible multi or two.

Best play today is to let the obvious map runners do the heavy lifting, then use the exotics around the open races where the value lives. Don’t go full mug punter and chase every drifter or every shiny backup - there’s money to be made here, but only if you keep the head screwed on and don’t start building castles out of sand.

PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI

These are the three bets the day leans on.
1 - Maritimo (Race 5, No.4) — $1.74
Why The one to beat in a race that looks like it’s been designed for a clean mapping job; if he jumps, rolls, and doesn’t decide to have a picnic mid-race, he’s awfully hard to toss.
2 - Savaii (Race 4, No.2) — $3.35
Why Maps beautifully from barrier 1 in a race lacking a heap of pressure, and this stable knows how to make these handy types earn their chips.
3 - Five Of Us (Race 3, No.9) — $2.49
Why Drawn to control the race from a kind gate in a maiden where the rest of them look like they’ve all brought a spanner to a knife fight.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × ~14.51 = ~$145.10 collect

Race 1 – The Club Beaudesert Classic Hcp

Race type: Handicap, 1200m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, with Exostova and Rockrata likely to keep it honest

Punty read:

This opener has a bit of chaos in it, which is exactly how a Saturday at the pub starts before someone’s shirt’s off and nobody knows who started the argument. Exostova has the best map, Rockrata can take them along, and Itza Motza is right there if the speed gets a touch ugly. Quest Of Quests has been firming but the drift says the market’s had a second think, so I’m not dying on that hill.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15 pool)

1. Exostova (No.9) — $7.15 / $2.50
Prob 15.1% | Place: 31.0% | Value: 1.44x
Bet $15.00 Each Way, return $53.62 (wins) / $18.75 (places)
Why Debut impression was sharp, he maps to get every chance, and the soft ground shouldn’t be a drama if he lands where he should.
2. Itza Motza (No.14) — $6.45 / $2.45
Prob 14.1% | Place: 29.4% | Value: 1.22x
Bet No Bet
Why Honest type who can feature if the leaders cut each other’s throats, but from out there he’ll need the race to unravel a touch.
3. Rockrata (No.16) — $14.25 / $3.90
Prob 12.2% | Place: 26.1% | Value: 2.32x
Bet No Bet
Why Has the engine if things go pear-shaped up front, but the map says he’ll need the race to come apart like a cheap lawn chair.
Roughie: Quest Of Quests (No.2) — $16.00 / $4.20
Prob 8.7% | Place: 19.4% | Value: 1.85x
Bet No Bet
Why The drift is a worry, but if the speed melts and he gets a trail through, he’s the sort who can sneak into the finish like a dodgy extra in a heist movie.

Degenerate Exotic of the Race

Quinella Box: 9, 14, 16 — $15
Why This is the obvious blow-up race on the card, so boxing the three with the best maps and the best late strength makes sense if the speed turns into a brawl.

Race 2 – Club Beaudesert Punt & Pint Plate

Race type: Class 1, 2450m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo, with Linas Reel and Little Lunch the ones best suited by the shape

Punty read:

This is a staying race where position matters, but not in the same violent way as a sprint - more like chess, less like Street Fighter. Linas Reel gets the dream map and has the tongue tie on for the first time, which is the sort of little gear tweak that can turn a plain-old grinder into a bloke who suddenly knows where the wickets are. Smelter is the rough-looking one with enough upside to keep the race honest.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15 pool)

1. Linas Reel (No.1) — $7.35 / $2.15
Prob 20.8% | Place: 44.1% | Value: 1.98x
Bet $15.00 Win, return $110.25
Why Best map in the race, right sort of trip, and the tongue tie could be the little nudge that gets him over the line.
2. Prefer To Dance (No.3) — $4.45 / $1.55
Prob 19.2% | Place: 41.8% | Value: 1.11x
Bet No Bet
Why He’s fit enough and honest enough, but he’s got to do the donkey work in a race that could get stretched.
3. Smelter (No.4) — $11.75 / $3.10
Prob 15.5% | Place: 35.7% | Value: 2.35x
Bet No Bet
Why Looks the smokey if the staying test turns into a grind and the better-fancied ones overcook it.
Roughie: Pellinor (No.5) — $16.00 / $3.60
Prob 10.4% | Place: 25.7% | Value: 2.15x
Bet No Bet
Why The market’s had a nibble and you can see why - if he settles and gets into a rhythm, he’s the one that can make the favourites sweat.

Degenerate Exotic of the Race

Quinella Box: 1, 3, 4 — $15
Why Perfect box race - one map horse, one grinder, one roughie with a big finish. That’s the sort of combo that pays when the stamina test turns nasty.

Race 3 – Lachlan Hughes Family Mdn Hcp

Race type: Maiden, 1650m
Map & tempo: Slow tempo, with Five Of Us and The Messiah getting the run of it

Punty read:

This maiden is the sort of race that makes grown men stare into the middle distance and reconsider their life choices. Five Of Us gets the cosy set-up and that’s gold when the tempo looks like it’ll be run at cardigan speed. Zayyano has the gear changes to improve, and The Messiah is the obvious player if he gets the race run to suit.

Top 3 + Roughie ($12 pool)

1. Five Of Us (No.9) — $2.49 / $1.25
Prob 24.5% | Place: 51.5% | Value: 0.87x
Bet $12.00 Win, return $29.88
Why Perfectly drawn to boss the race, and in a soft-tempo maiden that can be enough to make him very hard to run down.
2. Zayyano (No.4) — $4.90 / $1.60
Prob 18.1% | Place: 42.5% | Value: 1.09x
Bet No Bet
Why The gear changes say they're trying something different, but he still has to turn the form around first.
3. The Messiah (No.6) — $3.55 / $1.37
Prob 17.8% | Place: 42.0% | Value: 1.17x
Bet No Bet
Why Honest enough to be in the finish again, but he’s got a bit of work to do if the pace turns tactical.
Roughie: Blood Red (No.7) — $9.50 / $2.45
Prob 9.3% | Place: 24.8% | Value: 1.38x
Bet No Bet
Why If they stack them up and sprint late, this bloke can rattle home like he’s late for the last train.

Degenerate Exotic of the Race

Quinella Box: 9, 4, 6 — $15
Why Slow tempo, messy maiden, and the top three have the map advantage. Box them and let the race sort itself out.

Race 4 – The Oliver & Betty Plunkett Memorials Hcp

Race type: Class 4, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow tempo, with Savaii the cleanest map horse

Punty read:

This one looks like a race where the leader can pinch a breather and suddenly everyone else is asking awkward questions at the 300m. Savaii draws perfectly and should get the run of the race, while Smart Action and Majestic Boom are the two lurking if the tempo gets a bit silly. Treasurer is the sort of horse that can nick a slice without ever looking like he owns the place.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15 pool)

1. Savaii (No.2) — $3.35 / $1.80
Prob 24.8% | Place: 23.0% | Value: 1.06x
Bet $15.00 Win, return $50.25
Why Barrier 1 gives him the softest of soft runs, and in a slowly-run 1400 he’s the one they’ll all have to catch.
2. Smart Action (No.1) — $3.27 / $1.75
Prob 21.7% | Place: 20.7% | Value: 0.91x
Bet No Bet
Why Honest enough, but he’s not screaming value and may be asked to do too much if they dawdle early.
3. Majestic Boom (No.3) — $10.50 / $4.00
Prob 16.6% | Place: 16.4% | Value: 2.23x
Bet No Bet
Why The rougher-looking play with the right sort of kick if the leaders go to sleep and then panic late.
Roughie: Treasurer (No.9) — $10.00 / $3.80
Prob 10.4% | Place: 10.7% | Value: 1.32x
Bet No Bet
Why Needs a bit of luck, but if the race turns into a sit-and-sprint, he can run on through the debris.

Degenerate Exotic of the Race

Quinella Box: 2, 1, 3 — $15
Why Tight little map race. Savaii gives you the anchor, and the other two can nick the exotics if the speed scenario gets weird.

Race 5 – Hughesy's Legacy Mdn Hcp

Race type: Maiden, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo, and Maritimo looks the cleanest on-pace horse

Punty read:

This looks like the sort of maiden where the favourite should sit there like an entitled prince unless someone does something daft early. Maritimo has the map, the class profile, and the right sort of tempo fit. Los Alamitos is the horse with the shiny gear moves, but from a tricky gate he still needs the race to unfold nicely. The roughie types are there for a sniff, not a full-scale invasion.

Top 3 + Roughie ($12 pool)

1. Maritimo (No.4) — $1.74 / $1.17
Prob 34.3% | Place: 60.6% | Value: 0.82x
Bet $12.00 Win, return $20.88
Why He’s got the race map stitched up and, unless he forgets his manners, this looks his to lose.
2. Los Alamitos (No.3) — $5.45 / $1.75
Prob 17.8% | Place: 42.3% | Value: 0.91x
Bet No Bet
Why The gear changes are interesting, but he still has to make the leap against a horse with a much cleaner setup.
3. Mildura Lad (No.11) — $6.70 / $2.10
Prob 8.6% | Place: 23.6% | Value: 0.89x
Bet No Bet
Why Can improve with the move in the market, but the draw and the map both ask a few nasty questions.
Roughie: Leica Lemon (No.5) — $14.50 / $3.30
Prob 6.9% | Place: 19.5% | Value: 1.47x
Bet No Bet
Why If the race gets strangled up front and the leader comes back to them, this is the one that can charge through late like a bloke trying to beat the pub closing bell.

Degenerate Exotic of the Race

Quinella Box: 4, 3, 11 — $15
Why The map says the obvious trio should dominate the finish. Keep the box tight and let the favourite do the heavy lifting.

Race 6 – Lachlan Hughes Memorial Hcp

Race type: Handicap, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo, with So Be Inspired the best-paced value runner

Punty read:

Here’s the value race of the day if you’re happy to trust the map over the flashier names. So Be Inspired is the right sort of runner for this setup: handy enough, fit enough, and with a bit of market confidence behind him. Esprit Du Jour is the classier name on paper, but he’s got to overcome the map and the short price. Gerry's Pick is the blowout if they go too hard or the leaders start punching on too early.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15 pool)

1. So Be Inspired (No.4) — $4.95 / $1.40
Prob 22.5% | Place: 40.1% | Value: 1.46x
Bet $15.00 Win, return $74.25
Why Firming for a reason, gets the right run, and looks the one most likely to put this lot to the sword late.
2. Esprit Du Jour (No.1) — $2.09 / $1.17
Prob 19.9% | Place: 37.0% | Value: 0.54x
Bet No Bet
Why Big-name sort of profile, but the map is a bit ugly and the price is tight as a fish's backside.
3. Lambertina (No.3) — $3.125 / $1.25
Prob 15.8% | Place: 31.5% | Value: 0.65x
Bet No Bet
Why Can improve, sure, but she’s going to need a pretty smooth ride to swat the right types.
Roughie: Gerry's Pick (No.6) — $20.25 / $3.50
Prob 14.5% | Place: 29.4% | Value: 3.84x
Bet No Bet
Why If the race collapses a bit and the leaders overcook it, this bloke’s the one that can knife through late and ruin someone’s afternoon.

Degenerate Exotic of the Race

Quinella Box: 4, 1, 3 — $15
Why The favourite is vulnerable enough to keep the box attractive, but the race still wants the cleaner map horses up front.

Race 7 – Diggers Cup (Bm65)

Race type: Benchmark 65, 1650m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, with The Catch controlling the shape

Punty read:

This one’s got a proper shape to it - the sort of race where the honest gallopers get their chance and the backmarkers need the heavens to part. The Catch has the map and the market support is mild but real; Suprendre is the value runner if the pace stays honest; and Notabadjackup is the shortie that can make you look smart or stupid in about three strides. Archers Reign is the one that can pinch a placing if the leaders start tripping over themselves.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15 pool)

1. The Catch (No.1) — $6.35 / $2.05
Prob 19.1% | Place: 42.3% | Value: 1.57x
Bet $15.00 Win, return $95.25
Why Maps to get the run of the race and the soft ground shouldn’t knock him around if he keeps rolling.
2. Notabadjackup (No.4) — $2.33 / $1.25
Prob 17.7% | Place: 40.1% | Value: 0.53x
Bet No Bet
Why The one they all have to beat, but at that price you’re paying for the privilege and not getting much back.
3. Suprendre (No.5) — $8.25 / $2.35
Prob 16.8% | Place: 38.6% | Value: 1.79x
Bet No Bet
Why Honest enough to be right in the thick of it if they roll along, and the market should respect him a bit more than it has.
Roughie: Archers Reign (No.10) — $11.25 / $3.00
Prob 8.6% | Place: 22.3% | Value: 1.26x
Bet No Bet
Why Can snag a slice if the pace turns messy and the leaders start feeling their lungs like extras in a zombie film.

Degenerate Exotic of the Race

Trifecta Standout: 1, 4 / 1, 4, 5, 10 / 1, 4, 5, 10, 2 — $15
Why Genuine pace, open finish, and a few different ways the race can land. It’s a proper sicko bet, but it makes sense if you want to swing.

Race 8 – Beaudesert Hibernian Raceday 23 May Plate

Race type: Class 2, 1650m
Map & tempo: Moderate tempo, with Bole Le and Keep It Loki the two that matter most late

Punty read:

This is the last leg where the card can still punch you in the mouth if you get lazy. Bole Le has the map and should get the right sort of run, but Keep It Loki is the juicy little play if the market money and the early tempo both keep pointing in the same direction. Tennessee Whiskey is a handy old bugger who can hang around the money, and Save The Roses is the blowout for the true believers with a shovel and a dream.

Top 3 + Roughie ($20 pool)

1. Bole Le (No.1) — $3.98 / $1.37
Prob 21.8% | Place: 47.2% | Value: 1.16x
Bet $13.00 Win, return $51.68
Why Drawn to get the run of the race and should be right in the fight if the tempo stays honest.
2. Keep It Loki (No.2) — $8.45 / $2.25
Prob 18.2% | Place: 41.8% | Value: 2.06x
Bet $7.00 Place, return $15.75
Why The market’s been chipping in and the support makes sense - he’s the one with the upside if the map falls his way.
3. Tennessee Whiskey (No.5) — $8.10 / $2.30
Prob 15.8% | Place: 37.7% | Value: 1.71x
Bet No Bet
Why Proper honest galloper who can land in the finish, but he’s not quite the safest play for the stake.
Roughie: Save The Roses (No.12) — $17.50 / $3.60
Prob 10.3% | Place: 26.6% | Value: 2.41x
Bet No Bet
Why Big market chop says there’s interest, and if he gets the right tow into the race he can absolutely blow up the exotics.

Degenerate Exotic of the Race

Quinella Box: 1, 2, 5 — $15
Why This is the neatest box on the back end of the card - two map horses and a live one with enough staying power to crash the party.

SEQUENCE LANES — SINGLE OPTIMISED TICKET

EARLY QUADDIE (R1–R4)

Smart: 9,14,16,4,2,11 / 1,3,4,2 / 9,4,6,5 / 2,1,3 (288 combos x $0.17 = $50) — 17% flexi
Four legs, four messy little brawls, and not a single one you can afford to get cute in. This is proper survival racing - if you get through it, you’ve earned the right to keep dreaming.

QUADDIE (R5–R8)

Smart: 4,3,11,5,14 / 4,1,3,6 / 1,4,5,2 / 1,2,5,6 (320 combos x $0.16 = $50) — 16% flexi
A bit more playable thanks to Maritimo and the cleaner shapes in R6 and R8, but there’s still enough chaos in R7 to keep you honest. It’s a decent ticket if you’re happy to carry a few rough edges.

BIG 6 (R3–R8)

Smart: 9 / 2 / 4 / 4 / 1 / 1 (1 combos x $2.00 = $2) — 200% flexi
Tiny, brutal, and basically a straight line through the card - if it gets home, you’re either a genius or the rest of us are hopeless. More darts board than masterplan, but that’s the game sometimes.

NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK

1 - Soft 5, true rail, and handy runners
The races where the leaders can pinch cheap sectionals are the ones to trust most today. Beaudesert on a Soft 5 can still play fair, but if you’re back too far and the tempo is crawling, you’ll be needing a miracle and a moustache.

2 - The market has already snitched on a few of them
Linas Reel, So Be Inspired, The Catch, Keep It Loki, and Save The Roses have all had support for a reason. Not every firming horse is a gospel message, but when the money and the map line up, it’s usually worth sitting up straighter.

3 - Roughies are a dodgy alley on this card
The long-priced runners around here have been more bust than boom in this sort of setup, so don’t go emptying the esky on a wild guess at $20-plus. If you’re getting cute, at least make sure the horse has an excuse, a map, or some sort of plot twist written into the script.

THE LOOSE UNIT LOUNGE

This card’s got a bit of everything - a couple of bankers, a few proper bar fights, and one or two races where the favourite can get mugged if the map turns nasty. Stick to the spine, keep the exotics sensible, and don’t let the odd shiny price lure you into a bad decision. Gamble Responsibly.

Punty's Wrap-Up

The Wrap Beaudesert - The Catch saved the bacon!

The Catch was the only bloke who really threw us a lifeline, and Treasurer pinching the Class 4 off our map horse was a proper gut punch. The Soft 5 and true rail played fair enough, but handy runners still had the first crack and you didn’t want to be swimming against the tide. It was a battler of a day rather than a bloodbath, but the red ink still had a nasty smell about it.

How It Unfolded

The day started pretty close to the preview: not a brutal leader’s track, but you still wanted to be within striking range and not parked in the car park hoping for a miracle. Early on, the map horses were supposed to get the nod and a few of them did, but the races weren’t handing out free lunch — if you overcooked it or got caught reaching for too much too early, you were in trouble.

By the middle and late races it stayed pretty even. No wild lane bias, no full-on inside highway, no outside rail nonsense — just a fair-ish surface where the right run and a bit of fitness mattered more than being a hero. That mostly confirmed the original read: handy runners had the first say, but the better horses still had to finish the job instead of just looking good at the 600m like a bloke in a Netflix trailer.

The Scoreboard

A rough old card overall, but The Catch took the spotlight and a few of the placings stopped the day from getting completely mugged.

Winners (Straight-Out)

  • R7 The Catch (No.1) — $15 Win @ $6.90 → +$88.50

Big 3 Multi Result

Missed. R3 Five Of Us (No.9) never got there, R4 Savaii (No.2) boxed on for 2nd, and R5 Maritimo (No.4) never gave us the lift we needed.

Race by Race — How’d We Go?

  • R1: Exostova (No.9) Each Way — 7th, never got the clean run we wanted when the pressure lifted.
  • R2: Linas Reel (No.1) Win — didn’t fire, so the map play never got a proper crack.
  • R3: Five Of Us (No.9) Win — 4th, controlled less than expected and got swamped late once the sprint came on.
  • R4: Savaii (No.2) Win — 2nd, got the perfect sit but Treasurer stole the march when the tempo lifted.
  • R5: Maritimo (No.4) Win — didn’t fire, and that was a brutal anchor miss.
  • R6: So Be Inspired (No.4) Win — 3rd, honest but the class horses had the sharper turn of foot.
  • R7: The Catch (No.1) Win — BANG! Won at $6.90, +$88.50.
  • R8: Bole Le (No.1) Win — 3rd, got every chance but Tennessee Whiskey and the on-pacers had his measure.
Selections: 1/8 hit for -$8.50

What We Learned — The Factors That Mattered

Pace and position mattered all day, but not in a cartoonish “front-runners only” way. You wanted to be close enough to strike, and the races that fell to handy horses or those with a clean run were the ones that paid the bills. The Catch was the best example of it — travelled sweet, got the right tow, and put the race to bed when it counted. Esprit Du Jour in Race 6 and Tennessee Whiskey in Race 8 also showed that if you were fit, close enough, and had a bit of grit, you could get the job done even without looking flashy.

The misses were a lesson in not getting too horny about a pretty map on its own. Maritimo and Savaii looked like they had the right script before the jump, but one never delivered and the other got nutted late. Five Of Us had the cosy run in the maiden and still couldn’t hold them off when the pressure finally came on. That’s the danger at Beaudesert on a Soft 5 — if the race doesn’t unfold the way you expect, the map horse can look like a genius at the 400m and a goose at the post.

The biggest factor was tactical position with enough condition left in the tank to finish off. Not pure leaders, not pure swoopers — the sweet spot was horses that could sit handy, relax, and still punch late. Next time this track turns up on the softer side with the rail true, I’d still lean into on-pace runners, but I’d be a bit cooler on shorties that need a perfect setup and a prayer from the racing gods.

Track Read — How The Map Played Out

The inside wasn’t a freeway, but it was definitely the better place to be early if you had enough speed to hold a spot. That’s where the day’s winners mostly came from — horses that could sit in the first half of the field, travel cleanly, and get first crack at the straight.

What didn’t happen was a massive lane switch or a dramatic closer’s parade. The track stayed fair enough, and the races were more about tempo and timing than some wild rail bias. That confirmed the early read pretty well: if you were back in the second half of the field without a hot speed battle up front, you were asking for a miracle and a stiff drink.

Closing

The Catch made sure we didn’t walk out with a face full of shit, but the rest of the card still had us chasing our tail a bit. The good news is the read on pace and position was mostly right, so we’ll cop the whack, tidy the notes, and come back swinging next week when the track hands us a fresh puzzle. Gamble Responsibly.
