Rightio Loose Units, Bendigo Heavy 10 today, the sort of track where your chances have mud in their tyres and the finish line comes with a few extra swear words. It's a speed map day, but with heavy-track rules, the leaders get that first hit then the good ones keep grinding late. I've got a Big 3 spine that screams "pay attention, this mob can actually win", then we'll tidy it up race by race with value types and a couple of roughies for when the universe decides to get spicy.

Heavy 10 at Bendigo is basically "workout track" turned up to 11. The speed is real, but it's not the straight line sprint. If you're off the pace and stuck midfield with no clear run, you're doing the long way around like you missed the turn on your GPS, except it costs you. So I'm backing horses that can either hold a spot close enough, or come off a proper run without needing perfect galloping lanes.
The other thing is market behaviour. When something firms hard, it's because connections have got a plan, and plans survive wet ground. You can feel it in the two-year-old and maiden races, where one good step can turn into a whole new race story.
Pop culture version, if today was a movie, it'd be "Mad Max: Fury Road", but instead of petrol, it's mud. Get on, get moving, and don't wait for the scene change.
What it means for you:
Be aggressive early in the card where the heavy-track sprint races reward positioning. In the later races, widen your thinking a smidge, but stick to the pace clues and market support, because the backmarkers need a miracle and they usually get one, just not always the one you bet.
Plan your bets around the "who leads, who stalks" fight. My Big 3 is the spine because those races have the cleanest path to a win without relying on five things going right at once. After that, it's place leverage and value roughies, where a run that's a touch off can still collect.
