1000m · Maiden · 13:00
✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so the on-pacers and the ones with early speed should get their moment

Punty read:
This is a 1000m maiden where "slow pace" can either save you or absolutely destroy you. When it's slow, the field tends to bunch, and the horse with the better punch into the straight wins, not the one that got stuck mid-pack. No.5 I'lltellyouafter has the right kind of profile for a sprint like this, and the market has him marked as the main play for a reason. No.3 Weird Goodbyes is the type that can improve with the gear tweak and a better run now, and her last effort has a legitimate "held up" excuse so she's not fluking it.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. I'lltellyouafter (No.5) — $3.75 / $1.92 🏆 3RD
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 37.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.08x
Why Gets the tempo to suit, and he's one of the few that can actually threaten the finish line instead of just following it.

2. It's A Power (No.6) — $4.26 / $2.09 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 29.5% | Place: 63.8% | Value: 0.91x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Weird Goodbyes (No.3) — $4.72 / $2.24 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 29.0% | Place: 63.3% | Value: 1.08x
Why Gear changes and that "held up" run are the reasons, but with limited place coverage, the stake is staying with the top two.

Roughie: Field Of Hearts (No.1) — $83.33 / $28.44 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.9% | Place: 12.2% | Value: 1.02x
Why Roughie path is real if the race scrambles, but in a maiden sprint with thin place divs, you're basically buying a miracle.

✗ MISS -$2 Final

Race type: Benchmark 50, 1000m
Map & tempo: Hot pace, so leaders get first crack and stalkers need to stay within striking distance

Punty read:
This race is set up for horses that can handle heat early. No.1 Dance Wizzard gets first dibs near the front, and if she crosses or holds position cleanly, she's hard to peel out. No.3 Groove Jet is the obvious partner in crime, because in hot 1000m races you want the stalker that can pounce when the speed collapses a touch. No.2 Noble Intent is the classic place saver angle, with the sort of profile that sneaks into the frame when the front runners start playing tug-of-war.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Dance Wizzard (No.1) — $3.97 / $1.99 🏆 6TH
Bet $6.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$6.00
Prob 23.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.94x
Why Maps to lead and hang on just long enough, especially with the pace doing the work for her.

2. Groove Jet (No.3) — $5.18 / $2.39 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.5% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.06x
Why A real chance — but at $2.39 the place he's not a saver, he's a punt, and that's not a price I insure at. Watching, not betting.

3. Noble Intent (No.2) — $6.58 / $2.86 🏆 2ND
Bet $7.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$1.61
Prob 17.5% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.15x
Why If the hot tempo turns into a battle, she's the one that should be there for the money.

Roughie: Without (No.9) — $9.35 / $3.78 🏆 3RD
Bet $2.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$2.00
Prob 10.3% | Place: 56.2% | Value: 0.96x
Why You're betting the scenario where the speed falls off slightly and he can sneak into the top three.

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Benchmark 65, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, so the on-pacers get every chance, but it stays competitive through the middle

Punty read:
Here we go, Race 3 is the "someone's gotta run the race, and it's her" moment. No.2 Hollerloud is the clear standout for a reason. She's got the on-pace profile, and with this tempo she doesn't need miracles, she just needs to do her usual job and let the finish come to her. No.9 Madam Borodina is the danger, because she can park handy and run on. No.4 Allezizzy rounds it out as the value-ish type, especially if the race tightens late.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Hollerloud (No.2) — $5.35 / $2.45 🏆 3RD
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 31.5% | Place: 62.7% | Value: 0.90x
Why Pace and profile align, and she looks built to win this without needing a perfect ride.

2. Madam Borodina (No.9) — $9.80 / $3.93 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.6% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 1.03x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Allezizzy (No.4) — $11.49 / $4.50 🏆 7TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.9% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.04x
Why Gear note and class credentials are there, but exposure is staying tight behind the top pick.

Roughie: Yukan Rose (No.1) — $9.09 / $3.70 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.3% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 0.70x
Why You'd need the race to fall apart in her favour, otherwise she's more "place if it goes wrong" than "win it clean."

Corfield Cup
1400m · OPEN Handicap · 15:00
✓ WON +$91 Final

Race type: Open Handicap, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, 1400m means leaders set it up and then the real fight starts

Punty read:
This is where 1400m at Corfield turns into a test of positioning. No.3 Revved Up Ready is the one you want on your side. He has the on-pace map, and 1400m here rewards that kind of run because you get first shot at the straight. No.5 Hang Five is next up as the consistent type, and No.8 Zouhope is the sneaky value option that can run on under lights. The danger is anything getting dragged wide or too far back, because 1400m doesn't forgive long cleanups.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Revved Up Ready (No.3) — $4.50 / $2.17 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$91.00
Prob 25.7% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.16x
Why The pace setup suits, and he's the type to keep going when others hit that "oh shit" moment late.

2. Hang Five (No.5) — $5.99 / $2.66 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.4% | Place: 59.3% | Value: 0.98x
Why A real chance — but at $2.66 the place he's not a saver, he's a punt, and that's not a price I insure at. Watching, not betting.

3. Zouhope (No.8) — $9.43 / $3.81 🏆 7TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 47.3% | Value: 1.31x
Why Strong value feel, but the model's keeping the stake concentrated where it can actually cash more often.

Roughie: Hurricane Thunder (No.2) — $9.62 / $3.87 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.9% | Place: 38.0% | Value: 0.95x
Why If he gets a kinder run, he can grab a spot, but this is a big race and the model is going with the map heavyweights.

✗ MISS -$20 Final

Race type: Benchmark 50, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, so tactical speed wins, and you want the leader that doesn't get bullied

Punty read:
Race 5 is a "who gets to control, who gets to stalk" type of affair. No.2 The Tyler is the anchor. If he can work around the leaders and keep momentum, he's the one that can do it at two turns without blowing out. No.4 Shez Lethal is the short-priced danger, because when she's charging late she can slice through. No.8 Sweetpea Moochi is the roughie-ish story runner that can get into the finish, but she needs everything to go right.

Top 3 + Roughie ($20.50 pool)

1. The Tyler (No.2) — $4.52 / $2.17 🏆 5TH
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 31.4% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.31x
Why Leader style maps well, and he looks like he's got the legs to keep travelling.

2. Shez Lethal (No.4) — $3.28 / $1.76 🏆 4TH
Bet $10.00 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$10.00
Prob 26.3% | Place: 65.2% | Value: 0.80x
Why Too reliable as a place threat, and with moderate tempo she's a good "hit the line" angle.

3. Sweetpea Moochi (No.8) — $8.47 / $3.49 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.3% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.88x
Why She's got the form for a run, but the return maths and model rules aren't letting her take the stake.

Roughie: Meghan (No.3) — $12.99 / $5.00 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.2% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 1.11x
Why Win chance is live enough for chaos, but she's more "if something drops out" than a straight cash threat.

800m · Handicap · 16:25
✓ WON +$11 Final

Race type: Handicap, 800m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, this is about who gets position early and can keep it while the field compresses

Punty read:
800m makes cowards out of everyone. You need a horse that can sit in the right zone and not get stuck. No.2 Cliodhna Maeve and No.8 Leucaena are the two that keep popping out as the leaders or close enough, and when the race is compressed, those sorts just keep finding. No.4 Sandy Grip is the place play sort, because she can get a run early and still give you a finish. No.10 Outcast Soldier is the bigger price option, but he's there for the scenario if the front end gets a bit silly.

Top 3 + Roughie ($20.50 pool)

1. Cliodhna Maeve (No.2) — $4.44 / $2.15 🏆 4TH
Bet $10.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.00
Prob 29.6% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.16x
Why Pace advantage lines up with the way 800m races get run, and she's got the most sensible path to the front.

2. Leucaena (No.8) — $4.93 / $2.31 🏆 6TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 27.6% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.20x
Why A real chance — but at $2.31 the place he's not a saver, he's a punt, and that's not a price I insure at. Watching, not betting.

3. Sandy Grip (No.4) — $7.04 / $3.01 🏆 2ND
Bet $10.50 Place — ✓ Won, net +$21.10
Prob 13.4% | Place: 58.7% | Value: 0.83x
Why She can hold a position and punch late, and you're buying a place that should be in the picture.

Roughie: Pitleco Lass (No.7) — $10.99 / $4.33 🏆 7TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.4% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 0.81x
Why Roughie path needs the race to open late, and that's roulette unless the tempo breaks the right way.

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Corfield's on a Good track, rails in, and the weather's sunny enough to make even the slowest beginner feel brave. Let's sort the sharp out from the "mate, it was never going to win" brigade.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Good, 1000m to 1400m card
Rail: True
Official going: Good (expected to play Speed vs Stamina friendly)
Weather: Sunny, 24°C, humidity 19%, wind 25km/h ENE (watch for gusts and early position battles)
Early lane guess: Inside speed will get every chance, but you still want horses that can sprint out of trouble

Tempo profile: Sprints with a bias for getting on the speed, then holding on when the field starts to string up.
Jockeys to follow:
Jason Miller: loves being involved up front on the map, and he keeps finding the right moment to press
Matthew Gray: steady hand, strong when a race shapes for leaders or stalkers
Toni Schofield: brings the horses into their races, especially when the setup is clean
Stables to respect:
Tanya Parry (3 runners): her runners keep showing up right when it's time to go, and she's got options across the card
Ms S Royes (3 runners): when her horses get a run, they can turn a rough-looking trip into a live finish
Toni Schofield (2 runners): expects them to do work, expects them to keep doing it

Punty's take:

Corfield is one of those tracks where the straight line feels short and the first 300m feels like a reality TV audition. If you've got early zip and you're not getting trapped three wide in a burrito of regret, you're gonna be in the finish. The Good surface is doing favours for horses that can hold their run, not the ones that need a prayer and a collapse.

The day's got a real "safety first, strike hard" vibe. Race 1 is a maiden sprint where two of the main chances are basically built for a slow tempo, but the roughie can still bite if the field scrambles. Race 3 is the standout, and Race 4 and 5 are where value can sneak in, especially when the leaders do the hard work and the back-markers get a clean lane late.

And yep, I'm with the spine. You're either on the big three lanes or you're chasing ghosts. We'll talk about the rest, but the backbone is locked.

What it means for you:

If you're betting like a coward, follow the place leverage and don't overcomplicate the sprints. If you're betting like you actually enjoy winning, you can be a bit braver in the races where the pace and the market both make sense. Where the market's short and the form backs it, you go. Where the market's short but the race shape is awkward, you protect with place or you save your cash.

Game plan: be aggressive in Race 1's top pick, attack Race 3's clear leader, and then treat Race 4 and Race 6 like "map plus class" puzzles. Race 2 and Race 5 are the sneaky ones for place money, because if the leaders are going, you'll catch a stalker hitting the line.

Now, enough chat. Let's get to the meat.
