Alright legends, this is a meeting where speed is king, but it's not the "everyone fly or everyone die" type. Because it's Good and rail is True, the leaders get to keep their jobs, and the stalkers get their run without having to sprint three times a race like it's the last lap of a basketball highlight reel.
Race 1 is basically a mini speed versus class showdown. Rubunkar (No.4) maps on pace and is the market's favourite for a reason, but I reckon Salt Lake Betty (No.7) is the one that can sneak into the frame value-wise because she's often there abouts when others get stuck in traffic. Bold Smuggler is a live pivot too, if the early pace doesn't cook the middle.
Race 2 is a clear "one horse looks like the answer" affair with Aliza (No.3). But maiden plates at this level can still produce a "held up then boxed in then suddenly finishing like a jet" moment, so I'm protecting the win with a runner that can hit the right pocket. Then we move onto the handicap races where the pace doesn't have to be blazing, it just has to be honest.
What it means for you:
Be aggressive early in your head, not necessarily in your bank balance. Rubunkar, Aliza, Invader's Girl are your anchors, because their races line up with the track and map story.
Where you get paid is in the place leverage and the exact race shapes. That's why Race 1 has me looking for Salt Lake Betty's spot in the top end, and Race 3 is all-in on Invader's Girl's forward tempo and how she should get the run.
And Race 4 and Race 5? That's where the roughies live. If you go too safe, you'll get done by the one who runs a cleaner trip while the others are busy racing each other out of the race.
