✓ WON +$62 Final

Race type: Maiden Plate, 1450m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, Share Our Secret has the early advantage, the rest are searching for a position to launch from
Punty read: This is a "where do you sit when the slow tempo kicks in?" kind of maiden. If you're trapped back early, 1450m can feel like an eternity with no punchy sprinting room. Luke Skywalker looks like the safer rail of attack, he's got the map to take a sit close enough to peel late. Share Our Secret's the speed compass type, but he needs room, because slow races punish hesitation hard. And Irish Accolade is the danger of the day for the plain bets, because the market can still wake up when blinkers and gear turn a loss into a lesson.

Top 3 + Roughie ($21.00 pool)

1. Luke Skywalker (No.2) — $4.50 / $1.65 🏆 WINNER
Bet $17.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$59.50
Prob 24.3% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.31x
Why He maps to be in the right spot early, and the market's firming him for a reason, plus the race shape suits a mid-to-forward run.

2. Share Our Secret (No.3) — $3.75 / $1.57 🏆 2ND
Bet $4.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$2.28
Prob 18.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.87x
Why Tongue tie first time, and with the pace advantaged, she's the sort that can run on and grab a place even if the win goes a pocket too early.

3. Albert's Pick (No.7) — $6.35 / $2.15 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.5% | Place: 54.0% | Value: 1.38x

Bet Tracked
Prob 5.2% | Place: 21.6% | Value: 1.67x

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Maiden Plate, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Magatama and friends look like leaders in a speed-battle, with Highland Dancer on the rails stakes
Punty read: 1100m maiden is where good intentions get murdered. You either get on the action or you watch from the wrong side of the fence. Highland Dancer is the key, barrier 1 and on-pace means she can control her own destiny, especially on a Good 4 where you can actually quicken. Magatama is the other big speed marker, and if she's handling it, she'll be hard to run down. The roughie style play is My Sweetheart if the pace gets dragged and the race turns into a straight-line dash for gaps.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Highland Dancer (No.4) — $1.80 / $1.17 🏆 3RD
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 53.7% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.19x
Why First-up and straight into the action, barrier 1 with on-pace intent, this is how you avoid getting "held up" without noticing it.

2. Magatama (No.6) — $4.20 / $1.80 SCR
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.6% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.10x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Fioggia (No.9) — $5.10 / $2.25 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.1% | Place: 40.3% | Value: 1.19x

Bet Tracked
Prob 4.8% | Place: 14.5% | Value: 0.85x

✗ MISS -$9 Final

Race type: Benchmark 58, 2000m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, Balmierro and Quick Buck are pace advantaged lanes at 2000m, but the danger is getting too far back too early
Punty read: Benchmark 58 at 2000m on a Good 4 is basically "prove you can travel and then keep going". Calzino is the right sort of horse for this type of setup if he gets into rhythm early, because he's been mixing showing ability with not quite finishing the job. Heapy's Legacy is the value for the place seekers, and Balmierro is the one I watch for a midfield run that gradually turns into a winning sprint on the inside lanes.

This feels like a race where the winner isn't necessarily the flashiest early, it's the one that gets the most comfortable run and doesn't get stuck behind tired horses that still have a kick left.

Top 3 + Roughie ($19.00 pool)

1. Calzino (No.3) — $3.25 / $1.55 🏆 3RD
Bet $14.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$14.00
Prob 22.2% | Place: 59.9% | Value: 0.89x
Why The form reads like he's getting closer to the finish, and the 2000m gives him time to build momentum instead of being forced.

2. Heapy's Legacy (No.9) — $5.10 / $2.00 🏆 WINNER
Bet $5.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$5.00
Prob 13.4% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.84x
Why Blinkers again, winkers off first time, and on this tempo, a horse that can pick up without getting bullied has a great place shot.

3. Balmierro (No.4) — $9.65 / $3.00 🏆 12TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.6% | Place: 25.2% | Value: 1.51x

✗ MISS -$22 Final

Race type: Class 1, 1600m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Firealarm is the speed standard, Jupiter Hills and Immortal Rose are the ones who can sit and stalk
Punty read: This is a 1600m where you can't be too far off and still expect to hit the line fresh. Firealarm is the obvious leader, but the more interesting story is who gets the perfect sit behind the speed and keeps their engine ticking. Sanbina at barrier 12 is the sneaky one, because she's priced like she can run on from a midfield position and still have the legs left.

Jupiter Hills is a wildcard at short-ish odds, but she's more of a lane-and-traffic kind of threat, while Immortal Rose is the kind of mare that can float in a pocket and hit the line with purpose.

Top 3 + Roughie ($22.00 pool)

1. Sanbina (No.10) — $3.05 / $1.50 🏆 2ND
Bet $17.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$17.00
Prob 27.7% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.06x
Why Midfield with the right lane picture, and she's set up to take advantage when the leaders start negotiating the corner without enough gas.

2. Jupiter Hills (No.8) — $3.95 / $1.65 🏆 5TH
Bet $5.00 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$5.00
Prob 15.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.74x
Why She's got the class to be in the finish, and the market says she can show up, so place is the sweet spot.

3. Immortal Rose (No.7) — $7.75 / $2.55 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.3% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.29x

Bet Tracked

✓ WON +$11 Final

Race type: Benchmark 58, 1450m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, Damascus Gate and the on-pace line are the speed contributors, Giddy Up Griff is the finishing-style danger on the map
Punty read: This is set up like a race where the front section decides everything. On a real pace, backmarkers need actual luck to get home, and that's where you can get stung. Giddy Up Griff is the best kind of favourite, you can picture him sitting close enough without being workin' too hard, then finding that extra gear when the leaders start cracking.

Damascus Gate is the main danger because he's not just quick, he's quick with intent, Ordinary Angel is the grinder, and Oenology is the one to respect if she gets a clean early position instead of being shuffled.

Top 3 + Roughie ($22.50 pool)

1. Giddy Up Griff (No.6) — $2.22 / $1.25 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$18.30
Prob 29.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.82x
Why Speed profile suits the way these 1450m battles play out, and he's likely to be around the mark turning for home.

2. Oenology (No.1) — $5.60 / $2.00 🏆 4TH
Bet $7.50 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$7.50
Prob 14.5% | Place: 65.4% | Value: 1.03x
Why She's got the place strike built for this kind of race, and even when she races wide, her ability to keep coming gives you a safer bet.

3. Damascus Gate (No.2) — $8.75 / $2.65 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.8% | Place: 66.0% | Value: 1.43x

Bet Tracked
Prob 7.8% | Place: 44.4% | Value: 0.92x

✗ MISS -$10 Final

Race type: Benchmark 66, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Struff and Enniroc have the right map to poke at them, but it's a tight sprint where timing beats theory
Punty read: Chaos handicap energy, 1200m is where you get cooked if you overthink. Enniroc at barrier 9 is the sort who can land midfield and still be in range when the race turns into a straight-line slog. He's My Warrior has the bright price and the class to sit in the right pocket too.

Demarcate is the danger because he's got enough ability to show up at the business end, but the race plan has to be perfect, and in these tight sprints, sometimes perfect turns into second.

Top 3 + Roughie ($19.00 pool)

1. Enniroc (No.5) — $5.10 / $1.85 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $14.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$14.00
Prob 20.7% | Place: 58.1% | Value: 1.31x
Why He's got the right balance of fitness and map, and in this setup, being in striking distance beats dreaming of a late miracle.

Bet $5.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$3.75
Prob 18.8% | Place: 44.5% | Value: 1.08x

3. Demarcate (No.4) — $5.60 / $2.00 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.3% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.06x

Bet Tracked
Prob 7.2% | Place: 21.7% | Value: 0.93x

✗ MISS -$20 Final

Race type: Class 3, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, Star Whisperer and Fallen are pace standards, Singing Star and Mirai San are the ones stalking the right tempo
Punty read: 1000m handicaps are basically speed chess, but the board is too small for fancy strategies. Star Whisperer is the one to trust for the win pressure because he's been showing that he can hold his spot and pop at the right moment. Singing Star is the big place and minor value play if she can stay near the action without getting forced wide.

Mirai San is a sneaky chance if he gets into a perfect stalking pocket, but the big threat here is simply that 1000m can turn your "sure thing" into a photo, so don't overreach.

Top 3 + Roughie ($19.50 pool)

1. Star Whisperer (No.4) — $2.52 / $1.25 🏆 2ND
Bet $12.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$12.00
Prob 26.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.81x
Why With leaders on the map, he's the one who can control the race early and still have something left at the line.

2. Singing Star (No.2) — $4.85 / $1.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $7.50 Place — ✗ Lost, net -$7.50
Prob 19.0% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.14x
Why Tongue tie first time and on-pace profile means she's built to be involved early and keep running late.

Bet Tracked
Prob 14.2% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.11x

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Quirindi on a Good 4 with the rail true is the sort of night where the front runners get their way, but the value runners are sneaky enough to steal your lunch money. Bit of chill in the air, light rain gone, wind gusting, so it should feel nice and fair early, then it's a proper test when the leaders start dropping pebbles in the last 200.

I've found three proper pillars on the card, and then a multi that's basically a "send it and pray" situation, except with way more homework and way less luck talk. The big vibe across the day is pace and position, if you're parked too far back you're doing a lot of work for the same result. So we're riding the speed map, backing the right sort of fitness, and letting the rest of the crowd chase shadows.

For each race I'm giving you the Top 3 I'd want in my $-ledger, plus a roughie who has a realistic path to winning, not just "it's long odds, bro" energy.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Good 4, 1450m-to-1000m card
Rail: True
Official going: Good 4 (expected to play even across the pace, position matters)
Weather: Partly cloudy, 11°C, wind NW 31km/h, gusts around 37km/h (watch for a cool edge, the surface holding together)
Early lane guess: True rail, on-pacers and pegs, avoid getting buried wide and flatfooted
Tempo profile: Slow to moderate early, so leaders can get cute, midfield needs a clean run to finish off
Jockeys to follow:
Jake Pracey-Holmes: Gets the gear in the right spots, especially when there's a tempo to work with.
Andrew Gibbons: Consistent in these maiden sprints, and he knows when to sit and pounce.
Ms Mikayla Weir: Sharp mover on the day, good at landing in the right lane and keeping momentum.
Stables to respect:
D J Hatch (X runners): Steadies the ship and has a few that map into races.
G A O'Brien (X runners): When they bring one to play, it usually shows.
Theresa Stair (X runners): Fires at the right time, especially in the shorter races.

Punty's take: This meeting is set up for "run your race" types. With the rail true, the inside isn't a death sentence, it's just a place you either commit early, or you get stuck defending all the way. Race 4 to Race 7 is the quaddie meat, and it's where the field patterns get clearer: the on-pacers get first dibs, then the closer types have to weave through traffic like it's Mission Impossible.

Race 1 looks like a classic maiden where the on-pace runner just needs to dodge trouble and hit the line with something left. The market's heavily supportive of the obvious speed, but there's still value around the edges if you respect fitness and recent interferences. Then Race 2 is a sprint where one wrong step turns it into a carnival for the first four, so I want the horse that's likely to be in the thick of it, not grinding away in the last row.

Race 3 is the big "Benchmark grind" where 2000m always punishes the ones that don't get into rhythm, and there's a very specific play I like there. Race 4 is all about who survives the blink-and-you-miss-it turn of foot, and Race 6 is chaos enough to keep you humble. By Race 7, it's 1000m, so if you're not in the first 4 positions early, you're basically auditioning for a stewards panel.

What it means for you: Don't overcomplicate it. Your best bet is to be aggressive in the races where the pace advantage lines up with market support, and then protect yourself in the races that have enough traffic risk to punish wide wandering. I'd be using the Big 3 spine as your base, then if you're feeling frisky, build a quaddie lane around the races that are the most "shape-driven" rather than "hope-driven".

If you're playing win only, you're signing up for pain in a few of these. If you're playing place, you get the safety net when the on-pacers do their job and the midpack finishers chase a gap. For exotics, keep them tight to the value picks, because the card has enough genuine place chances that it's easier to miss than to nail a trifecta.

And listen, Quirindi can be a "one-runner knocks the whole ticket" track. So we're spreading where it makes sense, tightening where it doesn't, and letting the right horses do the heavy lifting.
