This is Warwick's favourite type of script, a genuine tempo and a Soft surface that punishes sloppy starts. When they jump, they jump, because once the pack fans out and the footing grabs, it turns into a "who travelled best" contest. Leaders can get away with murder if they're not getting swallowed early.
I'm treating the whole card like a bunch of short films. Some are about speed doing the job, some are about horses that are good enough to take a pocket and keep going, and a few are straight-up thrillers where the blinkers and visors are the character arc. Keep your head on a swivel from Race 1, and don't go broke being brave in the wrong races.
What it means for you:
My plan is simple, lean into the three anchors that look like they get the right run through. Then ride the value opportunities as they come, mostly in place markets where this track shape keeps paying the closer-with-attitude types.
If you want one rule today, here it is, don't overreact to drifting prices in Soft 5 races where pace decides everything. If a horse is on speed and the gate gives them a chance, take the win/justification route. If not, let them earn the place.
