This is one of those meetings where the leaders usually set it up, then the midfielders try to steal your lunch money in the straight. Bring a bit of patience, and if your horse stops and asks for directions in the wet, make sure you've got the tote covered.

Punty's take: The big theme here is Synthetic under rain, so you want horses that can travel, not just sprint in a straight line and hope. The rail being in means the outside will cost you ground, so when a horse is drawn near the action, you've got to assume jockeys will keep them close enough to pounce.
Race 1 is a maiden, but the pace map's got a leader's vibe and Leica Ace (No.3) is the one I reckon can actually do the job rather than just "run handy". Race 2 is classic two-horse chaos energy, Where's Ange (No.7) looks set to be involved from the first stride, while Popinjay (No.2) is the type that can get dragged into the right spot and run on.
Then we hit Race 5, the Special Condition 1400m final type setup, where Kereti and Exaggeration are the two main storylines. I'm not getting cute there. If the market says they're good, they usually earn it, and with rain hanging around, it's even more about who settles and puts their foot down when it's time.
What it means for you: For your tickets, be aggressive in the races where the top three are tightly aligned with the pace, class and market support. Those are the "get in early, don't overthink" races, and today that's Race 1, Race 2 and Race 5.
