You get that sticky, ground-saving racing where the front can look unbeatable for 600m, then suddenly everyone's snuck into the perfect spot, and the finish turns into a schoolyard scrap for the last 50m. So today I'm chasing: genuine pace, smart positioning, and a bit of market common sense. When I see a horse getting jumped on, I want to know why. If it's just vibes, we steer clear.

Punty's take: Soft 7 at Geelong is basically like trying to run a mate up a muddy staircase. The ones that keep their rhythm win, the ones that rush burn off early, and the ones that get stuck behind everyone else get farmed late. So in every race today, I'm looking at two things: who gets an easy run early, and who can still dig with the track taking away traction.
You'll see a lot of short prices because Geelong loves a "look like a winner" story. But the big danger is being too cute and getting stuck doing the wrong thing at the wrong time.
