✓ WON +$14 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1200m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, so position at the right time beats brute speed
Punty read: This is a classic Soft 5 maiden slugfest, where the early speed can be there but not "run away from you" speed. Roger (No.8) jumps as the likely controlling type from barrier 8 with the rail help around to +13, and he has that profile where even if he doesn't lead, he's not getting too far away. Call Me Invincible (No.1) can place, he's got the tactical footprint to keep pushing, but Roger is the more reliable "run your race" option.

Win For Buster (No.2) is the value-trap type at $9.50, because those excuses are legit and the gear switches suggest they want him sharper first time in the right combination. Zinny (No.4) drifting to $91 is the kind of price you only touch if you're willing to watch a horror movie and yell at the screen.

Top 3 + Roughie ($14.50 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Roger (No.8) — $2.00 / $1.13 🏆 WINNER
Bet $14.50 Win — ✓ Won, net +$14.50
Prob 50.1% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.03x
Why He's the cleanest on-pace story, and Soft 5 still rewards the horse who can keep rolling without needing perfect lanes every stride.

2. Call Me Invincible (No.1) — $3.70 / $1.50 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 24.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.69x
Why A real chance — but at $1.50 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Win For Buster (No.2) — $9.00 / $2.50 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.1% | Place: 57.3% | Value: 1.17x
Why The interference excuses are real, plus the gear changes say "try again, cleaner trip, and we're coming at them late".

Roughie: General Napoleon (No.6) — $10.00 / $2.65 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 3.3% | Place: 21.4% | Value: 0.38x
Why He needs the right kind of chaos, like if the speed collapses and everyone starts walking home.

✓ WON +$10 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1200m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, leaders should get first crack
Punty read: Treasured Legacy (No.10) is the big steak in the race because the tempo suits and he's positioned to be part of the play rather than chasing windmills. Vaulting Spirit (No.9) wants the front and the market knows it, and that's where the fun comes from, because if Vaulting Spirit controls it, the closers still need to stay accurate through the Soft. Cachaca (No.3) is there too, he's got on-pace intent and can work into the right spot with cover.

Unimando (No.2) is the roughie vibe. Those form lines with interference and held up trips scream "easy to judge him harshly". If he gets clear, he can creep into the frame like a mobster quietly changing the locks while everyone's watching TV.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Treasured Legacy (No.10) — $1.65 / $1.10 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$9.75
Prob 48.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.92x
Why He's the one most likely to be in the race early, and with genuine pace it gives him something to work off instead of running blind.

2. Vaulting Spirit (No.9) — $11.00 / $2.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.4% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.37x
Why A real chance — but at $2.80 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Cachaca (No.3) — $5.00 / $1.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.9% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.95x
Why He maps for a good trip, but he's the kind of horse that needs everything to go his way to win.

Roughie: Unimando (No.2) — $11.00 / $2.60 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.1% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 0.84x
Why He wins if he gets clear and the interference story turns into a clean run, which on Soft can happen if the pack isn't too sticky.

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Handicap, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, speed has a say but it's a late-finisher's track today
Punty read: Star Martini (No.7) is the natural spearhead, and at 1000m with this Soft going, you want a horse that can still go late without looking empty. Joyoh (No.3) is the main danger, he's on-pace too and the way he's been getting competitive suggests he's not a one-dimensional sprinter. Wiluna Lass (No.4) has the speed credentials from barrier 1, and soft conditions often reward the rail bias when they're brave enough to go.

Bonditram (No.1) is the roughie pocket, because he's capable of kicking on late and his running style fits a "harshen it up for the leaders" scenario. Quick note, this is one of those sprint handicaps where the draw and the ability to hold a straight line matter more than the flashy last start.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Star Martini (No.7) — $2.65 / $1.55 🏆 2ND
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 31.6% | Place: 62.0% | Value: 1.15x
Why He's built to make his own luck, and with a moderate tempo he can sit handy and still hit in the last 200.

2. Joyoh (No.3) — $4.50 / $2.15 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.8% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.86x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.

3. Wiluna Lass (No.4) — $4.50 / $2.15 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.5% | Place: 28.5% | Value: 0.90x

Roughie: Dip It In A Dream (No.5) — $10.00 / $3.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.3% | Place: 12.2% | Value: 0.71x
Why His path is a clean inside run and the leaders not sprinting away early enough, so he can hit the line with something left.

✗ MISS -$8 Final

Race type: Handicap, 1650m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace, which means gaps can open and close fast
Punty read: Cheeto (No.5) is the market anchor and honestly, with Soft 5 and 1650m, you want a horse that's got the engine to travel midfield and still sprint when others get tired. Grandad's Adiction (No.6) is the place leverage pick because that on-pace style fits this "roll forward and keep finding" pattern, especially with the rail out encouraging inside positioning.

Polyvanova (No.1) is the looming threat if she gets the right pocket early and can keep her momentum, while Javelin Strike (No.4) is the roughie type where you trust the class and the willingness to hang on late.

Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Cheeto (No.5) — $2.05 / $1.12 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $7.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$7.50
Prob 29.2% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 0.64x
Why Soft 5 loves a horse who can keep its rhythm, and Cheeto's exactly the sort who can keep doing the work without getting asked for miracles.

2. Grandad's Adiction (No.6) — $5.50 / $1.80 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.8% | Place: 56.2% | Value: 1.45x
Why A real chance — but at $1.80 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Polyvanova (No.1) — $9.00 / $2.30 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.6% | Place: 36.6% | Value: 1.27x
Why The pattern suits her type, but she needs the right race shape and lane luck.

Roughie: Javelin Strike (No.4) — $10.00 / $2.45 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.0% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 1.10x

✗ MISS -$8 Final

Race type: Handicap, 1650m
Map & tempo: Slow Pace, so the turn of foot matters and wide trips get punished
Punty read: King Of The Town (No.1) is the class anchor in a race where Soft 5 makes slow pace races dangerous, because if the leaders loaf too long the whole field bunches and the sprint turns into a lottery. Still, with his profile, he's the sort to be close enough early to enjoy the run and then put the pressure on once they straighten. Gold Beau (No.4) is value-ish and could absolutely pop late if he finds clear running.

About Turn (No.3) at $7.50 is the better "this could go early, then he's there at the right time" type, while Pavliani (No.10) is your roughie stab, because if the race shape favours midfield momentum, he can sneak into the top few like it's an arranged heist.

Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. King Of The Town (No.1) — $2.60 / $1.25 🏆 2ND
Bet $7.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$7.50
Prob 36.9% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.00x
Why He's set for the "turn in the pocket, hit the line late" script, and slow pace at Belmont is where that plan pays.

2. Gold Beau (No.4) — $4.80 / $1.75 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.5% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 0.97x
Why A real chance — but at $1.75 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. About Turn (No.3) — $7.50 / $2.15 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.2% | Place: 47.0% | Value: 1.19x
Why If he turns up with the right sectionals, he's dangerous, but he's not my main anchor.

Roughie: Pavliani (No.10) — $10.00 / $2.75 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.4% | Place: 26.8% | Value: 1.07x
Why Needs a clean midfield trip and the leaders to keep it slow enough that he can pick them off at the business end.

✓ WON +$14 Final

Race type: Handicap, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, ideal for a sit-and-stay attack on Soft
Punty read: Streamlined (No.7) is the speed-and-stamina sweet spot horse here. At 1400m on Soft 5, the ones that can travel on pace without burning are the ones that kick again, and he looks like he can do exactly that. Cosmic Gem (No.2) is the main value companion, and Must Be Nice (No.5) is the sort that can absolutely hold a long sprint position and not get swallowed.

What's The Point (No.3) is your roughie if the race settles and he gets the chance to use his tempo like a weapon. If the track turns into a bog at the 200, you want the horse that keeps finding, not the one that does everything early.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Streamlined (No.7) — $2.30 / $1.22 🏆 WINNER
Bet $10.50 Win — ✓ Won, net +$13.65
Prob 38.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.04x
Why He looks like he'll get every chance to run his race, and on Soft 5 that usually means winning the lane battle and staying balanced late.

2. Cosmic Gem (No.2) — $3.50 / $1.50 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 25.8% | Place: 69.0% | Value: 1.20x
Why A real chance — but at $1.50 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Must Be Nice (No.5) — $9.50 / $2.65 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.0% | Place: 28.0% | Value: 1.21x
Why Soft 5 loves horses who can sustain, and she's drawn to give herself a realistic chance to run on.

Roughie: What's The Point (No.3) — $9.50 / $2.60 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.5% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.94x
Why Needs the right balance of pace and clearance, but if the race opens up, he can absolutely nab a place and maybe more.

✗ MISS -$10 Final

Race type: Handicap, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace, which means on-pace types can still win late in the mud
Punty read: Cosmic Treat (No.4) is the headline, and from barrier 1 you can imagine the tactics, get over early and make the outside horses work for every inch. Soft 5 often rewards those front-footers, because they can keep pushing through the kickback instead of waiting for the horse to arrive.

Vampi Queen (No.5) is the natural danger, on-pace and short, but she's got that "too short to feel good, unless she's unbeatable" vibe. Ocean Goddess (No.1) is the outsider value-type that can hit the line if the leaders weaken, and Amarlie Miss (No.10) is the roughie for the fancy punter who still believes in chaos.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Cosmic Treat (No.4) — $3.90 / $1.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $10.50 Each Way ($5.25W + $5.25P) — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 26.6% | Place: 65.2% | Value: 1.31x
Why Barrier 1 gives her the best shot to control, and if she takes a hold, she can keep mowing them down late.

2. Vampi Queen (No.5) — $2.50 / $1.35 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.2% | Place: 57.6% | Value: 0.64x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Ocean Goddess (No.1) — $5.00 / $1.85 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.1% | Place: 42.4% | Value: 1.04x
Why She can place, but we're trusting the primary win shape and not duplicating the insurance.

Roughie: Amarlie Miss (No.10) — $9.00 / $2.70 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.8% | Place: 29.0% | Value: 0.98x
Why Her upset path is about getting cover and then stabbing through if the pace turns into a stamina tussle.

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Belmont on a Soft 5 with the rail jammed out, where every runner's carrying a little bit of mud in the lungs and the betting ring gets extra feral. 7 races, 66 runners, 2 scratchings, and you can already feel the day trying to trick you into backing horses that look flash on paper but won't see the line clean.

First thing, this track at Belmont when it's Soft plays like a stubborn bouncer. If you're stuck wide with nowhere to go, you're having a long night. If you can get position early or at least travel sweet, you've got a chance to sprint through the mud instead of grinding through it. Second thing, the market's been doing its thing already, firming a few favourites like they've got somewhere to be, while some drifters are screaming "hope you enjoy losing money". I'm chasing value, but I'm also chasing where the race can actually be won, not just "could maybe finish in the top three if the universe is kind".

My big three spine is tight and sensible, then I'm throwing in a few roughie shapes where the map and the market drift say "this could land and make you feel like a genius for once". Stay sharp, don't get sucked into overthinking, and remember, Soft 5 makes liars out of lazy form.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Soft 5, 1000-1650m-ish card
Rail: +13m entire
Official going: Soft 5 (expected to play Midfield to On-pace, with the inside help)
Weather: Possible shower, 26°C, watch for sprinkles and gusty track stress
Early lane guess: Middle to On-pace, with the rail an advantage when leaders pinch lanes
Tempo profile: Mixed, but Belmont sprints and middies all get tacky, so position is king
Jockeys to follow:
William Pike: if there's any clean lane to grab, he's usually first to smell it
Austin Galati: loves a horse with a job, and this meet shapes up for active riding
Chris Parnham: draws and tactics matter on Soft, he's usually steering the ship well
Stables to respect:
N D Parnham (7 runners): aggressive placement, and their horses show enough in the sectionals to not be dismissed
C & M Gangemi (3 runners): tends to have them ready for these conditions, especially when the market backs their main threats
D & B Pearce (2 runners): when they're coming, they're usually not coming to make up numbers, they're coming to hit the line

Punty's take: Belmont on a Soft 5 with the rail +13 out is basically "where are you gonna be when the track starts chewing?". The leader's advantage comes and goes depending on race shape, but the common thread is this, if you're on-pace you get a better crack at running through the finish, if you're backmarkers you're hoping for a miracle run and a soft passage. You can see it already in the way the pace labels are set, we've got slow races that turn into grindy affairs, and genuine pace races where the leaders might not be done at the 200.

Race 1 is a maiden where Roger looks like he's the one with the cleanest short-form profile and the market's decided he's worth it. Then Race 2 goes straight into a "someone's gotta lead and keep breathing" scenario, Treasured Legacy is the banker spine leg and Vaulting Spirit is the sort of horse that can absolutely make it a two-horse fight. After that, it's all about who gets the right stalking trip through the muck, like a movie where the hero finds the one door that isn't locked.

The quaddie later on, Races 4 to 7, has a bit of everything. You've got a clear favourite profile in Race 4 with Cheeto, then it opens up into a couple of value-friendly legs where the winners can come from slightly different running styles. By the time you get to Race 7, Cosmic Treat looks set for a genuine on-pace sit, and Soft 5 usually rewards the horse that can keep pushing late rather than just making a show early.

What it means for you: Your mission today is simple: be aggressive in the races where the pace and class alignment is obvious, and protect in the races where Soft 5 turns gaps into traps. So, take the Big 3 as your spine, because it's built on horses that look like they can actually control the race or at least land the trip the map promises.

For the punts, I'm aiming for a two-speed approach. Back the "if they're near it at the turn they'll be hard to beat" horses with win or place confidence, then pepper the roughies where the price has drifted or where gear changes and tactics can flip the script. And don't overcommit to the long shots in the early races, that's how you end up watching the quaddie get funded by your mistakes.

Now go do your homework, but use mine first, because it's race day and you're not here to suffer.
