This is the sort of meeting where the favourite can win, but the value route is still absolutely alive, as long as you pick your moments and don't get hypnotised by the flash signs.
I'm building the day like a three-peat in WWE. First, I want my Big 3 winners locked in across different races. Then I'm happy to let the rest of the card do its usual "shit happens" routine, because on wet-ish tracks at Eagle Farm, the tempo and the position game can flip a race in the last 100. No heroics, just smart positioning.
Alright, let's get stuck into it, starting with the obvious stand-outs and then hunting the roughies that can make your mates text "holy fuck" after the run.

Punty's take:
Eagle Farm on a Soft 5 with the rail out is a weird beast. The inside isn't a death trap, but it's still kinder to get from the front or the first few. That straight headwind (the sneaky bastard) means if you're wide and still travelling, you can gain ground, but if you're doing it too late you'll get swallowed up by fatigue. So I'm with the on-pace types, and the ones that can stalk without getting bullied.
Race 1 and Race 4 are screaming "speed and class alignment". Race 1 has Spirit Of Barty as the main point of attack, and Howdoyouzou is the one that can peel it off the leaders if the race doesn't tighten up too much. Race 4 is a handicap where the map matters, Exceed The Sale and High Authority are the proper chess pieces, and Star Of The Bar is the type that can run into a money spot if the tempo goes soft enough.
Then from Race 6 onwards, you're basically picking between "get on the speed" and "have a plan for the soft conditions." That's why the Multi spine is built off the horses that match that job description, not the prettiest names.
What it means for you:
If you're playing win, back the horses that look like they'll get first dibs on the action. If you're playing place, you can forgive a bit more mucking around in the run, because on a Soft 5 the margin is smaller, and the finishing kick can get blunted for the backmarkers.
My aggression is Race 1, Race 4, and then the Multi anchor race, Race 7. After that, I'm treating each race like a separate mission. Some are banker-style, some are chaos, and I'm only going hard when the pace and class fit together.
Now, go race-by-race and don't overthink it. Just follow the order, trust the lane, and if a roughie is in your line, let it do the job or at least make the dividend laugh.
