Soft 7 at Echuca means the race isn't just who's best, it's who gets the right rhythm. On slow tempo, you can't be too far back unless you're sitting on a genuine finisher, because gaps are real and the outside is where luck goes to die.
I'm leaning on the short-priced horses in the right races, the ones that have a clean pace story or proper wet-track profiles. Then I'm grabbing a couple of roughie type prices where the race shape does the hard work, because if the leaders get swallowed, that's when the weirdos cash up like they planned it.
