This track on Soft 7 is basically a boggy cheat code. You can get away with being a touch worse in the run, as long as you're close enough to pounce when others start doing that slow waltz through the mud. The rail being +3m out and about means those long out runs can work, but the closer you are to the speed early, the less you've got to "hope" later. That's why I'm locking into the top-probability horses early, and letting the roughies do their swoop jobs like villains in an action movie, appearing exactly when you least expect them.
The other thing today, the market is heavy on a bunch of obvious types, and that can lull people into over-rushing to favourites. I'm doing the opposite, I'm backing the logical ones at the right times, then I'm sprinkling a couple of prices where the map and the excuses line up. Race 1 looks like a clean maiden opportunity for Golden Cloud. Race 3, Tour De Moon is the classic "let him roll and let him finish" play. And Race 8, Chur Nibble looks like the speed is simply his language.
What it means for you:
My aggression is in the places where the race shape suits, and where there's a clear "doable" trip. So, for the early part of the card, I'm sticking to the Top 3 in each race like it's a pub quiz cheat sheet. In the later races, I'll lean a bit more into the place-saver mentality because Soft 7 punishes slow starts and wide wandering, and place money can save your night when the winners run a businesslike race.
If you want a simple game plan: bet the most likely horse in each race with conviction, then use the roughie as the "if the speed collapses" insurance policy.
