PUNTY EARLY MAIL, Gatton (2026-11-06)
For all of Punty's tips for Gatton, head to https://punty.ai/tips/gatton-2026-11-06
Rightio Legends, Gatton is on a Soft 6 after 28mm in the last seven days, and the card runs from 860m to 1400m with the speed map doing most of the talking. Pull up a chair, because the shape of this meeting is clearer than the prices make it look.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Gatton, 860m to 1400m card
Rail: True, with no rail position given in the data
Official going: Soft 6 (Nil rainfall last 24hrs, 28mm last 7 days)
Weather: Fine, live gusts 9.3km/h
Early lane guess: unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Moderate pace in six of the eight races (R1, R2, R3, R4, R6, R8). Genuine pace in R5 and R7, where one leader sets the tempo and the chasers have to find their own speed.
Jockeys to follow:
Danny Peisley: Five rides, including Denver Bronco (R4), Kick On Charlie (R6) and Storm Petal (R1). His listed Gatton record is 11.1% from 1458 rides.
Gary Geran: Four rides, including Zoubuca Shots (R3) and Magic Moz (R8). He's 13.7% at this track from 2229 rides, with 16% over his last 100.
Les Tilley: Four rides, including Ladies Ocean Run (R2) and Mishani Adios (R1). He's 13.4% at this track from 5990 rides, with 17% over his last 100.
Stables to respect:
P L Shailer (3 runners): Two of my staked picks come from this yard, Kick On Charlie (R6) and Denver Bronco (R4), with She's Our Vega in R3.
Corey & Kylie Geran (4 runners): Zoubuca Shots (R3), Koban (R4), Lyrical Gangster (R7) and Magic Moz (R8). Zoubuca's record at this track is 13% from 2908 runners.
P J Minter (4 runners): Stolen Stock (R4), Brave Horatius (R5), Mister Selfie (R5) and Change The Deel (R7). Stolen Stock and Brave Horatius are both on the board in the top sections.
Punty's take: Six of the eight races have a moderate pace on paper, which means nobody is going to fly off the front and win by three lengths unless everyone else lets them. Genuine pace shows up in R5 and R7, where Purosangue and Rockrata each have the map to themselves at the front, and in those races the chasers have to be good enough to run them down. R3 is the messy one, with Zoubuca Shots and Da Vinci Glow both wanting the lead from barrier 12 and barrier 10, and the back of that field has a rough time on the map. R4 is a bunch race from start to finish, with nine or ten runners who could find the front, so I'm not paying up for a moderate pace there.
The bankers, if you want them, are Zandari in R1 and Ladies Ocean Run in R2. Zandari sits handy from barrier 4 and the shape helps him, and Ladies Ocean Run settles handy from barrier 1 in a race where the front is open. Kick On Charlie in R6 has my best win line on the card at 30.5%, but he's going to have to win from a pace shape that works slightly against him. Denver Bronco in R4 comes from midfield out of barrier 17, and that's the one I'll be watching most closely for a price disconnect on the day. Market money has come in heavily on Zandari, Ladies Ocean Run and Miss D'mez, while Cracker Essgee has drifted out from $5.00 to $6.00 and Ready Mister Music has gone from $41.00 to $61.00.
What it means for you: Be aggressive on Zandari and Ladies Ocean Run, because both have the shape on their side and the market is already leaning their way. Protect the Quaddie and the Big 6 with the chaos races in mind, R3 and R4 in particular, because the wide-spread bunches there will make any ticket feel loose. The Big 3 is a clean three-leg play across R2, R6 and R8, but the Big 6 needs every leg to land, so keep those tickets small. If you want an each-way play with a bit of spice, Zoubuca Shots in R3 gives you a leader's chance to pay a place return even if the race gets messy.
PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI
These are the three bets the day leans on.
1 - Ladies Ocean Run (Race 2, No.3) — $2.45
Why Leads the three-horse pace fight at barrier 1 with the shape on its side, has a 2 from 3 track record in its last three races at Dalby and Gatton, and the money has backed it from $3.10 to $2.45.
2 - Kick On Charlie (Race 6, No.6) — $2.65
Why Last start was a win at Gatton 1400m, the same trip, and he's won on the track and at the distance, so the form and conditions both fit even though the shape is a touch against him.
3 - Oh Pretty Emma (Race 8, No.6) — $2.50
Why Sits back from barrier 5 in a race where the shape helps, has the Gatton 1100m third on last start, and Brandon Lerena's 13.8% at this track backs the ride.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × 16.23 = $162.30
Race 1 – Barrier Reef Pools Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 860m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace on paper, but Mishani Adios and Little Khan both want the front, and both are drawn wide at barrier 10 and barrier 12, so one of them has to work hard to get across. That hands Zandari, from barrier 4, a sit just behind them, and the shape helps him. Storm Petal from barrier 13 has the same wide problem, and Coolazcanbe from midfield is one of the horses hurt most by this shape, so he needs a messy finish.
Punty read: Zandari is the bet. He sits handy from barrier 4 in a race that suits the way he runs, has the fastest time sectional in the data, and was second at Gatton last start. He's yet to win on soft from three starts, which is the one blemish, and the market has backed him from $3.50 to $2.30. Montagnola sits handy from barrier 11 and is the danger if Zandari gets stuck behind the leaders. Storm Petal wears winkers for the first time today, and his last two runs ended in interference and a slow start.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Zandari (No.10) — $2.30 / $1.32
Bet $15.00 Win, return $34.50
Prob 26.9% | Place: 63.2% | Value: 0.62x Steady since tip
Why Sits handy from barrier 4, has the speed and the shape, and the market has come to him. Second at Gatton last start is the best form on the page.
2. Montagnola (No.8) — $4.20 / $1.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.76x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.75 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Storm Petal (No.11) — $7.00 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.2% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.71x Steady since tip
Why Winkers on for the first time, and both his last two excuses are interference and slow start. He's a chance if the race gets quicker than the map says.
Roughie: Coolazcanbe (No.4) — $13.00 / $3.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.8% | Place: 22.7% | Value: 0.63x Steady since tip
Why He's midfield on the map and the shape works against him on paper, but he won at Dalby over 800m and the market has come from $19.00 to $13.00. If the front pair cook each other, he's the one swooping late.
Race 2 – Falvey's Hotel Gatton Hcp (58)
Race type: Handicap, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with nobody mapped to lead, so the front will go to whichever of Ladies Ocean Run, Final Voyage, Shahar, Decorative or That's All Good wants it. Ladies Ocean Run from barrier 1 has the inside draw and the easiest sit into the race. Decorative from barrier 8 and Shahar from barrier 9 must work to cross, which costs them ground. The shape helps the horse on the speed, so the first two count.
Punty read: Ladies Ocean Run is the bet. He settles handy from barrier 1, the shape helps him, and he's been running second and first at the Gatton and Dalby trips. He's a 2kg step up in weight from last start, but his best runs have come at lighter weights. Final Voyage, with three seconds in his last three runs, is the one I'd be happiest to see run second. Shahar's record is solid, but he's six kilograms up and the draw means he has to work hard.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Ladies Ocean Run (No.3) — $2.45 / $1.17
Bet $15.00 Win, return $36.75
Prob 34.0% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.83x Steady since tip
Why Barrier 1, sits handy, and the shape helps. The market has backed him from $3.10 to $2.45, which tells you the money agrees.
2. Final Voyage (No.5) — $5.00 / $1.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.3% | Place: 59.1% | Value: 1.02x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.65 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Shahar (No.6) — $6.00 / $1.82
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.97x Steady since tip
Why Sits on the speed from barrier 9, has a sectional time rank of 3 over 600m, and his Toowoomba runs were both held up or slow out.
Roughie: That's All Good (No.7) — $29.00 / $3.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.3% | Place: 16.7% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why He's the speed rank 1 horse in the field on early speed and has 2 wins from 9 on soft. The first-time winker might be the difference if the leaders go too hard.
Race 3 – QN Hotel Laidley Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace on paper, but Zoubuca Shots from barrier 12 and Da Vinci Glow from barrier 10 both want the lead, so there'll be a scrap at the front. Zoubuca Shots must work from the outside to get across, and that's the cost of the draw. The back half of the field, including Divinity Star and Miss D'mez, needs the leaders to tire badly, and the shape is against them.
Punty read: Zoubuca Shots is the bet, each way. He's the leader on the map with the shape helping him, Gary Geran has 13.7% at this track, and the Gatton 1400m fourth last start came with a slow start and a medical or physical issue as the excuse. The each way is the play because he's a leader from barrier 12 in a race that could run wide open. Bowling Harry from barrier 8 sits handy and is the danger if the leaders run themselves out.
Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)
1. Zoubuca Shots (No.10) — $5.50 / $2.00
Bet $7.50 Each Way ($3.75W + $3.75P), collects $28.13 if it wins ($20.63 win + $7.50 place), $7.50 if it only places
Prob 19.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.05x Steady since tip
Why Leads on the map from barrier 12, the shape helps him, and Gary Geran is in the saddle. He's a leader who can get the place even if the race gets a bit untidy.
2. Bowling Harry (No.1) — $5.50 / $2.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.99x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Hellavalegacy (No.8) — $5.00 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.0% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.60x Steady since tip
Why Barrier 2 sits handy from the inside, and the last two runs were second at Toowoomba and Dalby. Jade Metcalfe's 2kg claim helps.
Roughie: Enterprise Jamayka (No.6) — $11.00 / $3.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.8% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.63x Steady since tip
Why The shape is against him from midfield on paper, so he needs the front to tire. Sectionals are rank 3 at both 600m and 400m, but if the leaders get run down he's the one closing late.
Race 4 – Book A Round At The Gatton Jubilee Golf Club Mdn Hcp
Race type: Maiden, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with no clear leader, so the front is a free-for-all between Holy Steps, Zouman, Freeman Fury, Stolen Stock and Two Time Girl. Several of those are drawn wide, so the pace could come up in the first 400m or it could be a crawl. Denver Bronco is midfield from barrier 17, which is a long way round. The shape is against him on paper, so I'm looking for what wins it anyway.
Punty read: Denver Bronco is the bet. He's drawn wide, the shape is against him, and he still has the form line that matters: a 2nd at Gold Coast 1000m last start before the 6th at Gold Coast 1200m. Danny Peisley's 11.1% at this track and the 19.6% combo with P L Shailer back the ride. The market has moved from $3.10 to $2.75, and that's money moving his way. Ellofaby sits midfield from barrier 2 and is the danger, a second at Gatton 1400m last start.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Denver Bronco (No.1) — $2.80 / $1.45
Bet $13.00 Win, return $36.40
Prob 17.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.48x Steady since tip
Why Barrier 17 is a long way around, but the form is there and the money agrees. Danny Peisley and P L Shailer are a combo I'll take at this track.
2. Ellofaby (No.10) — $5.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.93x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.15 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Stolen Stock (No.15) — $8.50 / $2.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.6% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.90x Steady since tip
Why Sits on the speed from barrier 14 and was fourth at Gatton 1400m last start. Aidan Keeley has a 25% combo with P J Minter, but the market has drifted his price out to $8.00.
Roughie: Slayrider (No.12) — $13.00 / $3.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.2% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.06x Steady since tip
Why Third at Kilcoy 1500m last start and has three thirds at the distance. Les Tilley takes the late ride, and the shape is only marginally against him on the map.
Race 5 – McNeil Farms Hcp (58)
Race type: Handicap, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Purosangue the only leader from barrier 12, so he's going to set the tempo. Brave Horatius from barrier 1, Thunderous from barrier 2, Silver Spoon from barrier 8 and Wax On Wax Off from barrier 11 are the pressure. Purosangue must work to cross from the outside. Thunderous sits handy and the shape helps him, while Capital Cee and Zouslayer are hurt most from back and midfield.
Punty read: Thunderous is the bet. He sits handy from barrier 2, the shape helps him, and his Lismore 1120m third last start came off a 0.9-length finish. He has two wins and a second at this distance with a track record of two wins and a second from five on the track, which is a strong fit. Brave Horatius is the one to beat him if the pace gets brisk, and Purosangue is the leader who could hold on if nobody works hard enough to catch him.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Thunderous (No.1) — $3.00 / $1.45
Bet $15.00 Win, return $45.00
Prob 26.3% | Place: 56.7% | Value: 0.79x Steady since tip
Why Sits handy from barrier 2 and the shape helps him. He's a proven sprinter on the track and at the distance, and the market has moved him from $3.30 to $2.90.
2. Brave Horatius (No.2) — $4.50 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.8% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.67x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.85 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Purosangue (No.3) — $8.00 / $2.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.05x Steady since tip
Why He's the only leader on the map and Jess Emmerson's 24.8% at this track is handy. The market has drifted from $5.50 to $7.00, so there's value if the front pace holds up.
Roughie: Mister Selfie (No.10) — $10.00 / $3.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.9% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.79x Steady since tip
Why Three wins from nine on soft, with the fastest sectional at both 600m and 400m. He's midfield on the map and needs the front to go hard for him to cross the field.
Race 6 – Movember - Men's Health Month Hcp (58)
Race type: Handicap, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with nobody mapped to lead, so Smart Recognition from barrier 5, Switch To Go from barrier 2 and Kick On Charlie from barrier 8 are the likely front runners. Kick On Charlie must work to cross from barrier 8. The shape is against him on paper, but Switch To Go sits handy from the inside and the shape helps him, which makes him the roughie to consider. I Stole It and Cracker Essgee sit midfield and can run on if the front is contested.
Punty read: Kick On Charlie is the bet. He's drawn wide and the shape is against him, but he won at Gatton 1400m last start, the same trip, and he has one win from one at the track and one win from two on soft. Danny Peisley's ride is 11.1% at this track, and the T@trk for P L Shailer is 14.4%. The market has him at $2.65, so there's no great value in the price, but the form is a real edge. I Stole It is the danger, midfield from barrier 10, and his form at 1400m is solid.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Kick On Charlie (No.6) — $2.70 / $1.40
Bet $10.50 Win, return $28.35
Prob 30.5% | Place: 62.2% | Value: 0.82x Steady since tip
Why Same trip, same track, last start was a win, and he's won on the track and on soft. The shape is a touch against him but the form cuts through.
2. I Stole It (No.1) — $5.50 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.94x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.85 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Cracker Essgee (No.10) — $6.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.7% | Place: 45.6% | Value: 0.89x Steady since tip
Why Four wins and four seconds from 25 starts on soft, and the market has drifted from $5.00 to $6.00. Rochelle Pereira's stable has the numbers.
Roughie: Switch To Go (No.4) — $10.00 / $2.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.3% | Place: 28.4% | Value: 0.73x Steady since tip
Why He sits handy from barrier 2, the shape helps him, and he has one win from four on soft and one from two at the trip. If the leaders cancel each other out, he's the horse who can slip through.
Race 7 – Book In Your Work Xmas Party 4th Dec Hcp (58)
Race type: Handicap, 1400m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Rockrata the only leader from barrier 5, and he has pressure from Tulong, Lyrical Gangster, Water Lad and Ambassadors. Langan is hurt most from back on the map, so he needs the leaders to tire. Ambassadors and Sian from barrier 11 and barrier 12 must work to cross, which costs them ground, and Encouraged is also hurt by the shape from midfield.
Punty read: Rockrata is the bet. He's the only leader on the map at barrier 5, the shape is against him but he has a track record of one win and two seconds from four at this track. Ashley Butler's late ride is a question, but the form is there. Tulong from barrier 3 is the danger with the blinkers off and visors on for the first time, and his three thirds from three at this distance say he's consistent.
Top 3 + Roughie ($8.50 pool)
1. Rockrata (No.12) — $2.85 / $1.45
Bet $8.50 Win, return $24.23
Prob 20.1% | Place: 53.4% | Value: 0.57x Steady since tip
Why Leads on the map from barrier 5 and the form at Ipswich 1350m was third last start with the time rank at 2. The shape works against him but the form is here, so I'm taking him.
2. Tulong (No.3) — $5.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.76x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.15 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Langan (No.9) — $5.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.8% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.70x Steady since tip
Why Back on the map and hurt by the shape, but the trainer has a 20% strike rate over his last 100 runners. Tahlia Fenlon has a 13.6% record at this track.
Roughie: Ambassadors (No.1) — $16.00 / $3.70
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.7% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 0.91x Steady since tip
Why Sits on the speed from barrier 11 and has one win, two seconds and two thirds from 13 on soft. Kayla Barker's ride and the market moving from $11.00 to $14.00 make him a roughie worth a second look.
Race 8 – Redmond's Pet & Livestock Supplies Hcp (58)
Race type: Handicap, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with no clear leader, so Far Cry from barrier 7, Oakfield Montana from barrier 11 and Peach Galantes from barrier 6 are the likeliest to take the front. Oakfield Montana must work to cross. Oh Pretty Emma is back from barrier 5 and the shape helps her, so she's set to settle back and run on. Magic Moz and Key Component are also hurt by the shape but can run on if the front is contested.
Punty read: Oh Pretty Emma is the bet. She settles back from barrier 5 in a race where the shape helps her, and her Gatton 1100m third last start is the best recent form on the card. Brandon Lerena's 13.8% at this track and the 23.5% combo with William Kropp back the ride. The market has her at $2.50, so the price is short, but she has the form and the shape. Magic Moz from barrier 3 is the danger, a rider who has won at 1400m before.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Oh Pretty Emma (No.6) — $2.60 / $1.32
Bet $10.50 Win, return $27.30
Prob 29.5% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.77x Steady since tip
Why Settles back from barrier 5 in a race where the shape helps her, has the Gatton 1100m third last start, and four tracks wins from four runs at the track.
2. Magic Moz (No.1) — $4.00 / $1.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.6% | Place: 52.4% | Value: 0.74x Steady since tip

Bet Tracked
Prob 12.2% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.73x Steady since tip
Why Second at Gatton 1400m last start and time sectional rank 2. He's on the speed from barrier 7 and needs the front pair to tire.
Roughie: Key Component (No.8) — $9.50 / $2.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.0% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.76x Steady since tip
Why Fourth at Ipswich 1350m last start with a soft record of one place and no wins from ten. The shape is against him on paper, so he needs the race to run quicker up front than the map says.
SEQUENCE LANES
EARLY QUADDIE (R1–R4)
Smart: 10,8,11 / 3,5,2 / 10,1,8,6 / 1,10,15,12 (144 combos x $0.3472 = $50.00) -- 34.7% flexi
Punty's take: Zandari and Ladies Ocean Run keep the first two legs tight, while R3 and R4 are wide open and carry the risk. Minimum 30% flexi on this ticket, and it's a high-risk entertainment play with a payout that only works if a longshot lands somewhere.
QUADDIE (R5–R8)
Smart: 1,2,3 / 6,1,10 / 12,3,9,1 / 6,1,5 (108 combos x $0.3241 = $35.00) -- 32.4% flexi
Punty's take: Thunderous, Brave Horatius and Purosangue hold R5 reasonably tight, while R7 is the open leg and R8 is tight with only two runners. Minimum 30% flexi, and a $5 to $10 winner somewhere in the ticket is what pays it properly.
BIG 6 (R3–R8)
Smart: 10,1,8 / 1,10,15,12 / 1,2,3,10 / 6,1,10,4 / 12,3,9,1 / 6,1,5,4,8 (3840 combos x $0.001302 = $5.00) -- 0.13% flexi
Punty's take: Six legs, and four of them are open, so this is an entertainment-only ticket with a tiny flexi. Minimum 0.10% flexi, and I'd rather you spent the money on the Big 3 than on this.
NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK
1 - Winkers on the first time
Winkers go on for No.11 Storm Petal in R1 for the first time, and his last two excuses were interference and a slow start. Watch the market on him.
2 - Blinkers off, visors on
Blinkers are OFF (again) and visors are ON (first time) for No.3 Tulong in R7, and his distance record is three thirds from three starts.
3 - The rider who isn't listed
No.6 Wax On Wax Off is in R5 with no jockey in the data, so keep an eye on the jockey change before you pay attention to his price.
FINAL WORD FROM THE SICKO SANCTUARY
Gatton is a track that rewards the horse who can sit in the right spot and wait for the finish, so back the sitters and let the front-runners run their own race. Ladies Ocean Run and Zandari are the two I'm happiest with on the day, and the rest of the card is for the brave.
