Punty's Punts
Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, with two main on-pacers pressuring early, then a sprint finish where clear running matters.
Punty read: Leg Godt (No.5) looks built for this race, proper leader map and the speed here should make it hard for the midfield to lob in late. Tedeschi (No.1) has the class and the running style to be right there, but it needs the breaks and clean air. Sambuca Rose (No.4) is more "sneaky lane" than straight bullet, useful if things bunch and the field pinches lanes. Inspirational Mac (No.2) is your chaos control, the roughie path is if the on-pacers start fighting for air and it sneaks into a gap.
Top 3 + Roughie ($12.00 pool)
1. Leg Godt (No.5) — $2.35 / $1.40 🏆 WINNER
Bet $12.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$16.20
Prob 34.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.35x
Why It's a sprint where being on pace wins, and this one's set up to take the race by the scruff.
2. Tedeschi (No.1) — $3.60 / $1.80 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 30.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.85x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Sambuca Rose (No.4) — $7.40 / $2.50 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.6% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.79x
Why Gear tweaks are interesting, but it needs everything to go right and that's not the vibe on a Good sprint.
Roughie: Inspirational Mac (No.2) — $12.00 / $3.40 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.2% | Place: 16.7% | Value: 1.01x
Why Roughie land, if the leaders spike and backmarkers get a late crack, it's in with the right run.
Race type: BenchMark 56+, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, but there's enough speed to create a lane battle early.
Punty read: This is a race where Magic Money (No.7) looks like it can keep finding. It's not just "there", it's map-right and the style says it'll be there when everyone else has to start spending. Casino Royale (No.3) is a live chance because its recent runs say it's been close enough to win if the gaps show. Intoxicating (No.2) is the sort that can improve with better position, but it's still a tick below the main two today. Shooting Kontiki (No.1) is the roughie for when the market's too confident and it suddenly becomes the wrong kind of wide.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Magic Money (No.7) — $3.90 / $1.65 🏆 3RD
Bet $10.50 Each Way ($5.25W + $5.25P) — Cashed, net -$1.84
Prob 28.6% | Place: 58.4% | Value: 1.36x
Why Place leverage is huge in this sprint, and the run pattern says it keeps rolling when others are done with their work.
2. Casino Royale (No.3) — $4.60 / $1.75 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.5% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.16x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Intoxicating (No.2) — $5.00 / $1.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.6% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.84x
Why A good runner, but the value isn't clean enough to make it the side-piece today.
Roughie: Shooting Kontiki (No.1) — $9.50 / $2.65 🏆 5TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.9% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.94x
Why It needs the pace to go wrong, and it's more "if the movie turns" than "front row director".
Race type: Class B, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so timing and positioning matter more than raw speed.
Punty read: Gingeriffic (No.4) is the standout with the best blend of natural race rhythm and the way this track plays at 1400m. Tiny Champion (No.3) is the danger because it's the kind that stays involved, then suddenly finds the line it wants. I Am A Rockstar (No.1) is the pace pressure angle, but it's a slow-tempo race, which usually means the classier runner with the better kick gets the nod. Willyabrup (No.6) is your roughie if it finally finds the run lane and doesn't get buried.
Top 3 + Roughie ($11.78 pool)
1. Gingeriffic (No.4) — $2.80 / $1.57 🏆 WINNER
Bet $11.78 Win — ✓ Won, net +$21.20
Prob 29.8% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.01x
Why Slow tempo usually turns it into a timing race, and Gingeriffic looks primed to hit that moment.
2. Tiny Champion (No.3) — $4.80 / $2.25 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 22.6% | Place: 33.9% | Value: 1.31x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. I Am A Rockstar (No.1) — $3.60 / $1.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.8% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.82x
Why It's got the run style, but the race should suit the ones with cleaner finishing timing.
Roughie: Willyabrup (No.6) — $13.00 / $3.80 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.4% | Place: 22.3% | Value: 1.41x
Why If the race turns into a late scramble, that's when it can pop out like a villain from a Marvel movie sequel.
Race type: BenchMark 56+, 1400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so the ones who can keep momentum matter, no heroics required.
Punty read: Blowin' Smoke (No.5) is the win call. It looks ready to sit midfield and still have a go at the line when the slower tempo starts to string them out. Addictive Dream (No.2) is the main saver-type, but the model's happy letting it do its job without forcing an extra win stake. Lady Coco (No.8) can run into a spot because it has the pattern for it, just don't expect it to do miracles if the leaders stay balanced. Mystery Bullet (No.9) is the market's fantasy for someone, but it's not in the top three thoughts.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Blowin' Smoke (No.5) — $3.50 / $1.60 🏆 3RD
Bet $13.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$13.00
Prob 21.1% | Place: 58.3% | Value: 0.92x
Why It gets the best kind of race, slow tempo that allows it to run without burning early.
2. Addictive Dream (No.2) — $4.00 / $1.70 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.5% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.92x
Why A real chance — but at $1.70 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Lady Coco (No.8) — $7.60 / $2.35 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.5% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 1.31x
Why Interesting for a lane, but we're keeping the main focus on the leader of the pack.
Roughie: What About Moi (No.6) — $9.50 / $2.60 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.4% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.36x
Why Roughie if the pace collapses, but it's more "maybe" than "go time".
Race type: BenchMark 64+, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, with a couple that want the lead and make everyone else follow.
Punty read: Climb On Top (No.1) is the banker type. It's the on-pacer profile with real bite and the right draw to keep finding the front edge. Shasfa (No.6) is the one who can pressure and keep the race honest, and Repeater (No.3) is the sneaky honest trier who can run the exact race you want for a multi. Who's Your Mama (No.8) is roughie chaos, it's got enough class to upset if the fav does everything right and still can't shake it off.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Climb On Top (No.1) — $2.20 / $1.12 🏆 WINNER
Bet $13.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$15.60
Prob 41.4% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.14x
Why The speed profile fits the track, and this looks like it controls the tempo, then runs through the line.
2. Shasfa (No.6) — $5.10 / $1.65 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.3% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 1.01x
Why A real chance — but at $1.65 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Repeater (No.3) — $4.50 / $1.55 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.9% | Place: 54.1% | Value: 0.82x
Why It's live, but today the value is elsewhere.
Roughie: Who's Your Mama (No.8) — $12.00 / $2.70 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.8% | Place: 33.4% | Value: 1.15x
Why If the race turns into a late sprint duel, it can sneak onto the placings, but for win, it's needing a bit.
Race type: BenchMark 64+, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, so class and positioning through the middle stages wins.
Punty read: Western Impact (No.4) is the main pick. In a slow-run 1600m, it's all about having the right spots and not being trapped too far back when the field starts to bunch. Ruler Rocket (No.2) is the value-looking threat because it can work into it and get rolling when others are stuck in gear. Got Lucky (No.3) is the wild card for the multi crowd, and Fries With That (No.6) is the one that could be dangerous if timing falls their way. Deal Obtained (No.5) is the roughie and it needs the right run and the race unfolding in its favour.
Top 3 + Roughie ($12.00 pool)
1. Western Impact (No.4) — $3.50 / $1.82 🏆 2ND
Bet $12.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$12.00
Prob 25.8% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.10x
Why It's the best blend of class, race positioning and finish, and it looks like it's set to be there when the tempo lifts.
2. Got Lucky (No.3) — $4.00 / $1.95 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 24.7% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 1.23x
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Ruler Rocket (No.2) — $3.30 / $1.75 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.6% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.95x
Why Can absolutely run big, but the ticket's already got the main threats covered.
Roughie: Deal Obtained (No.5) — $11.00 / $3.50 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.1% | Place: 11.6% | Value: 0.66x
Why It's a long-shot path only, needs the race to open late and for it to snag a run.
That's the ticket as I struck it — the legs below are exactly what ran, no rewriting history.
Smart: 4,3,1 / 5,2,6,8 / 1,3,6,5 / 4,3,2 (144 combos x $0.24 = $35.00) -- 24% flexi
The day's multi leans on three win legs across the card.
1 - Leg Godt (Race 1, No.5)✓ Won — $2.46
2 - Gingeriffic (Race 3, No.4)✓ Won — $2.84
3 - Climb On Top (Race 5, No.1)✓ Won — $2.30

Punty's Early Mail
Rightio Loose Units, Leinster is the kind of card where you can smell the speed from the carpark, Good track, rail true, and the day's got that "someone's gonna get away with one" vibe. The heat's on too, mostly sunny and 35°C, so races could tighten up late, especially for the on-pacers who get first dibs on clear air.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Leinster, 1000m-1600m card
Rail: True
Official going: Good (expected to play Fast early, strong finishing lanes)
Weather: Mostly sunny, 35°C, wind NE 18km/h, watch for a few gusty moments that can mess with timing (feels like 30.8°C)
Early lane guess: Quaddie should be speed-led, then the "second wave" comes from inside midfield.
Tempo profile: Genuine to moderate early in the sprint races, then it slows down into controlled, grindy middle sections for the Cups-style heat.
Jockeys to follow:
Sharni Webster: landing in the thick of it across the card, comes up where horses map to have a say
Tara Atherden: she's on the speed horses and the ones that get first run at them
Ebony Johnson: shows up with runners that look like they're travelling, especially late in the card
Stables to respect:
Jacquelyn Scott (8 runners): lots of bites today, and you can see the intent in how her horses get aimed at their spots
P R Bamford (8 runners): steady hands, and when the market respects them, they usually deliver
R J Malpass (7 runners): the sort that brings them forward and keeps them galloping, especially in the later races
Punty's take:
This meeting is basically a buffet of "maps that make sense". With the rail True and the track Good, you can ride for positions early without needing a miracle. The on-pacers who get clear air, particularly in the sprints, are the ones who'll be annoying at the 100m mark.
My big three spine is simple, Climb On Top in Race 5, Leg Godt in Race 1, Gingeriffic in Race 3. They're the type that either control the race story, or at least sit in the right lane to steal it off tired rivals.
And yeah, we're gonna get messy too, but in the controlled way. Roughies are for when the pace collapses into chaos, or when gear changes plus sections scream "this is the run".
What it means for you:
If you're playing smart today, be aggressive early in the sprints: Race 1 and Race 5 especially, because speed on a Good track is gold dust. Don't overthink it, the winners don't come from the fence if they're stuck three wide without cover, they come from the ones that can find rhythm.
For the Quaddie lane (Races 3 to 6), you want a mix of tight logic and one or two "sweat" legs. Race 3 is where Gingeriffic can put the race away with the right run, Race 6 is the big question mark where Western Impact looks best positioned, then you spread wider across the middle.
Now go have a drink, make your ticket, and pretend you're calm. I know you're not.
