Punty's Early Mail
For all of Punty's tips for Kyneton, head to https://punty.ai/tips/kyneton-2026-11-04
Rightio Ratbags, Kyneton is sitting on a Soft 7 after 10mm in the last 24 hours, the rail is out 1m, and the card runs from 1103m to 2006m, so there's a race for every kind of sicko on the sheet. Nine races, three scratchings, and the speed is loaded in the middle of the card, so grab a coffee, get comfy and let's get into it.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Kyneton, 1103m to 2006m card
Rail: Out 1m Entire Circuit
Official going: Soft 7 (10mm last 24 hours, 52mm last 7 days)
Weather: Showers, gusts 20.4km/h
Early lane guess: Unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Slow in R1 and R3, moderate in R2, R6, R7 and R8, genuine in R4, R5 and R9. Three of the genuine-pace races (R4, R5, R9) have one horse that maps uncontested on the front, so those leaders get a free kick if nobody comes to them.
Jockeys to follow:
Damian Lane: Eight rides, the busiest jockey on the card, including Job Done in R4, Divine Empress in R5 and The Pendragon in R8.
Beau Mertens: Seven rides, including White Hot Mama in R4, the lone uncontested leader in a genuine-pace race, and Bliss Bomb in R5.
Billy Egan: Six rides, including Silky Seth in R3 and Durban Harbour in R6, two runners I'll be watching closely.
Stables to respect:
Liam Howley (6 runners): Vim Vitae in R7 and Hurco in R6 are the two I'd keep an eye on, and the barn has more runners than anyone else at the meeting.
M Price & M Kent Jnr (6 runners): Misneach in R3 and Job Done in R4 are the strongest of their rides, and they come with real market support.
Ben, Will & Jd Hayes (5 runners): Bacash in R4 and The Pendragon in R8 are both among the top prices, and the trainer's last 100 rides have a 22% strike rate.
Punty's take: Start with the speed, because that's where this card gets interesting. Race 4 has White Hot Mama on the front with nobody else in the race wanting to cross her, and Race 5 has Tapo doing the same thing. Race 9 is the same story with Thinking Sensation, but there are a lot more runners in that field who want to get in behind him. Races 1 and 3 are the slow ones, where the back half of the field gets the shape and the slow-pace punters get smashed. Race 1 has nobody mapping to lead, so Valentina Girl from barrier 1 is the likeliest to get to the front, and she'll be fighting her own shape. Race 3 is the same, with Silky Seth the only horse the map gives a path to the front.
The bankers on paper are Race 6 and Race 9, where the favourite has a clear edge, although Race 9 is less tidy because the market has a $2.40 shot with plenty of speed around him. Race 2 and Race 8 are the chaos merchants. Race 2 has five runners who could find the front and a $3.40 favourite who sits back. Race 8 has a $4.80 pick who sits midfield from barrier 8 into a moderate pace, with the shape working against him on paper.
What it means for you: Be aggressive on the Race 6 favourite and treat Race 9 as the race where the leader needs to be respected but not chased blindly. Protect yourself in Races 2 and 8, where the bets are small and the roughies carry the upside. The value is in the horses the market has shortened for the wrong reasons, and the early-speed races are where I'd be most careful with money on the favourite.
Keep the stakes tidy. Most of the money is in Race 1, Race 2, Race 3, Race 5 and Race 9, so don't let the loud races get you carried away.
PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI
These are the three bets the day leans on.
1 - Lunar Force (Race 6, No.5) — $2.65
Why Market has come in from $3.30 to $2.65, the favourite is firming, and he's been running on at the end of Kyneton and Geelong races. The shape doesn't suit him on paper, but he's still the best horse in a race where nobody else has the form to match.
2 - Bacash (Race 4, No.1) — $3.40
Why The pace is genuine and the leader is uncontested, but Bacash sits right on the leader's back and has 3 wins from 17 starts with the form to match. He's the one to take at the front of this genuine-pace race.
3 - Flyaway (Race 2, No.4) — $3.40
Why He's been close in three straight starts (3rd, 4th, 3rd), is 0 wins from 1 on soft, and the market has him as a $3.40 shot with a moderate pace where he can get the trail.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × 30.63 = $306.30
Race 1 – Carlton Draught Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1103m
Map & tempo: Slow pace on paper, and nobody maps to lead, so Valentina Girl from barrier 1 is the likeliest to get to the front. Western Edge from barrier 8 and Pasatiempo from barrier 10 both need the race to come to them, and the shape suits the back half. That's a headache for Johnny Tightlips, who settles midfield from barrier 5 with a map factor of 0.91.
Punty read: Johnny Tightlips is the horse I'm backing, and the reason is simple. Three starts, three seconds, all three at Kilmore, and the blinkers came off first time. He's a horse who keeps finishing close without winning, so the each way is the right way to back him. Valentina Girl is the danger on the speed, and Jackpot Park is the sound midfield runner who can find a bit of ground if the leaders don't fight.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Johnny Tightlips (No.2) — $4.00 / $1.65
Bet $15.00 Each Way ($7.50W + $7.50P), collects $42.38 if it wins ($30.00 win + $12.38 place), $12.38 if it only places
Prob 21.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers off first time, and the Kilmore runs back him up. The slow pace hurts him on paper, so the place is the sensible target if the race stays tidy.
2. Jackpot Park (No.1) — $3.60 / $1.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.9% | Place: 59.9% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Valentina Girl (No.10) — $5.50 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.0% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.66x Steady since tip
Why She's the one most likely to get to the front, but she's only had one start and the shape works against her.
Roughie: Pasatiempo (No.8) — $12.00 / $3.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.7% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why If the speed collapses and the leaders stall, a back-marker from barrier 10 has to make up a lot of ground, but the path is there in a slow race if the front runners give way.
Race 2 – Macedon Ranges Glass - Emerging Stars Series Heat 1 Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1203m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, and nobody maps to lead, but Avedis, Bourne Legacy, Gangland, Hurricane Girl and Storm Bella could all end up on the speed. Run Run Win sits midfield and the shape suits him on paper. Flyaway settles back from barrier 7, and the shape is against him with a map factor of 0.93.
Punty read: Flyaway is the one I'm backing, and I'm not scared of the shape. He's been running on at the end, 3rd, 4th, 3rd in his last three starts, and Damian Lane has been riding hot at this track. The danger is Bourne Legacy, who sits on the speed from barrier 5 and has been close on the Kyneton and Moe runs. Mongol Heer has blinkers off and visors on, so he's a midfield runner to watch.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Flyaway (No.4) — $3.40 / $1.60
Bet $13.00 Win, return $44.20
Prob 23.8% | Place: 62.8% | Value: 0.81x Steady since tip
Why Three placings in three starts, and Damian Lane's jockey strike rate is hot. Back-marker in a moderate pace is the awkward part, but he's a horse that finishes.
2. Bourne Legacy (No.2) — $5.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.77x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.15 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Mongol Heer (No.6) — $5.00 / $2.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.7% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.58x Steady since tip
Why Visors and tongue tie on first time, and he was held up with a slow start at Pakenham last start.
Roughie: Run Run Win (No.7) — $10.00 / $3.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.1% | Place: 36.7% | Value: 0.91x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers on first time and the shape is in his favour with a map factor of 1.21. He's a midfield runner who only needs the race to run to him.
Race 3 – Ambrosia Kyneton Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1454m
Map & tempo: Slow pace, and Silky Seth from barrier 11 is the only horse the map gives a clear path to the front. Gun City from barrier 12 and Emanating from barrier 9 both need cover, and the shape suits Misneach, who sits midfield from barrier 8.
Punty read: Silky Seth is the one I'm backing. He's been close in the Geelong and Sale runs, and the trainer's 11% cold streak looks like noise against his placed record. The shape is against him on paper with a map factor of 0.94, but if the speed is slow and nobody else grabs the lead, he's the horse with the best form to finish second or better. Misneach is the danger, with blinkers on first time and a fast sectional at Flemington last start.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Silky Seth (No.2) — $3.20 / $1.55
Bet $13.00 Win, return $41.60
Prob 22.3% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.71x Steady since tip
Why Three placed runs at Geelong and Sale, and Billy Egan's form at this track is hot. The shape isn't his friend, but his finishing kick is.
2. Misneach (No.5) — $3.60 / $1.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.66x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.65 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Ciphered (No.3) — $5.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.0% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.55x Steady since tip
Why Placed at Kyneton last start on the same track, and his good record at the trip makes him a place chance.
Roughie: Platinum Rush (No.8) — $9.00 / $2.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.5% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers off again and winkers on first time, with a run of placings at Echuca, Bendigo and Swan Hill. He's a place chance if the midfield runners run past the leader.
Race 4 – Kyneton Electrics (Bm74)
Race type: Benchmark 74, 1203m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, and White Hot Mama from barrier 4 is the only leader, with Bacash from barrier 3 and Fluent from barrier 5 the nearest pressure. Enna's Dream and Arcandam are drawn wide and need cover. The shape is against Bacash on paper with a map factor of 0.82.
Punty read: Bacash is the bet, and the reason is that he's a proven horse at the trip with good form. He's 3 wins from 17 starts, with 2 wins from 8 at this distance, and the trainer has been hot. The danger is Job Done, who wins from the middle of the field and has a 1st-up record of 2 wins from 2. Only 7 runners, two places paid, so this is a win-only race for the top pick.
Top 3 + Roughie ($11.50 pool)
1. Bacash (No.1) — $3.50 / place tote
Bet $11.50 Win, return $40.25
Prob 25.1% | Place: 46.0% | Value: 0.88x Steady since tip
Why Two wins at 1200m and placed in the Morphettville run last start. He's got to sit off the leader, but the form says he's ready.
2. Job Done (No.3) — $3.00 / $1.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 24.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Attachments (No.6) — $4.80 / $2.25
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.1% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.77x Steady since tip
Why Firming from $5.50 to $4.80, has placed at the 1200m trip, and sectionals in the top two.
Roughie: Fluent (No.5) — $10.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.2% | Place: 17.8% | Value: 0.62x Steady since tip
Why He's an on-the-speed runner who gets the trail behind the leader, and a held-up run last start at Caulfield Heath means he's got a bounce-back story.
Race 5 – 360 ONE Advisors & Accountants (Bm66)
Race type: Benchmark 66, 1103m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, and Tapo from barrier 6 is the only leader, with Mystic Reign, Lady Sadler, Packers Journey, Divine Empress and Bliss Bomb all close enough to press him. Bliss Bomb is the one the shape helps most, while Lady Sadler is the one it works against with a map factor of 0.82.
Punty read: Lady Sadler is the bet. She has 3 wins from 14 starts, a 2nd and a 4th in her last two, and the trainer's 20% hot streak is the best in the race. The danger is Bliss Bomb, who has a map factor of 1.21 and the shape working for him, and Divine Empress, whose 3kg drop in weight is a real plus. The Birthday Party is the roughie and won at Kyneton last start.
Top 3 + Roughie ($11.00 pool)
1. Lady Sadler (No.2) — $3.10 / $1.40
Bet $11.00 Win, return $34.10
Prob 21.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.66x Steady since tip
Why Three placings in her last three starts with a win at Pakenham, and her soft form has one win and two placings from five starts.
2. Bliss Bomb (No.7) — $4.80 / $1.72
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.9% | Place: 47.2% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.72 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Divine Empress (No.6) — $6.50 / $2.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.0% | Place: 34.5% | Value: 1.04x Steady since tip
Why 3kg down from her last start, placed at Bairnsdale last start, and Damian Lane is riding her.
Roughie: The Birthday Party (No.5) — $9.50 / $2.55
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.2% | Place: 29.7% | Value: 0.78x Steady since tip
Why He won at Kyneton last start from a midfield run, and the market has firmed from $11.00 to $9.00. He's a roughie with the track form to back it up.
Race 6 – Evolve Interiors (Bm66)
Race type: Benchmark 66, 1856m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, and nobody maps to lead, with Gregolimo, Weather Delay and Hurco the likeliest to find the front. Durban Harbour is the one the shape helps most, and the back half needs cover. Lunar Force settles midfield from barrier 1 with a map factor of 0.99, so the shape isn't in his favour.
Punty read: Lunar Force is the bet. He's the market's clear favourite at $2.65, the market has firmed from $3.30, and he's been second at Kyneton last start over this trip. Yes, he's 0 wins from 3 at 60kg, and that's a fair concern, but he's still the best horse on the card at this trip. Weather Delay is the danger, with blinkers off and visors on first time and a 2kg drop in weight.
Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)
1. Lunar Force (No.5) — $2.65 / $1.40
Bet $7.50 Win, return $19.88
Prob 33.1% | Place: 62.6% | Value: 0.88x Steady since tip
Why Second at Kyneton last start over 1887m, third at Geelong before that. He's the clear class horse, and the market has backed him all the way.
2. Durban Harbour (No.3) — $7.50 / $2.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.8% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.81x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.60 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Weather Delay (No.6) — $8.00 / $2.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.2% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.82x Steady since tip
Why 2kg down from last start, a 1st at Ballarat Synthetic, and drifting from $6.50 to $8.00 with no data reason I can see.
Roughie: His Finest Hour (No.4) — $11.00 / $3.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.6% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 0.72x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers on first time and a backmarker in a moderate pace, so he needs the leaders to tire. He's 3 wins from 16 starts with a placing record that backs up his chance.
Race 7 – Woodside Park Classic (Bm70)
Race type: Benchmark 70, 1454m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, with Delivering and Regal Tycoon both mapping to lead and the forward runners Couldthisbetheone, Savilla and Delivering all needing to work to cross. The shape suits the forward runners, so the early speed is in favour of those who get to the front. Vim Vitae sits midfield from barrier 1 with a map factor of 1.09, so the shape helps him.
Punty read: Vim Vitae is the bet. He's come off a win at Ballarat last start, the market has backed him from $7.50 to $4.60, and the map sits right with him. Regal Tycoon is the danger on the lead, with a 3rd at Cranbourne and placed form on soft. Coronationhercules has been running into the placings, and her tongue tie going on first time is one to note.
Top 3 + Roughie ($8.50 pool)
1. Vim Vitae (No.11) — $5.00 / $1.85
Bet $8.50 Each Way ($4.25W + $4.25P), collects $29.11 if it wins ($21.25 win + $7.86 place), $7.86 if it only places
Prob 15.1% | Place: 42.9% | Value: 0.76x Steady since tip
Why Won at Ballarat last start, with 4kg down in weight and the cross-over nose band going on first time. He's got to be considered with the market move, and the place is the safer target.
2. Regal Tycoon (No.2) — $2.70 / $1.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.0% | Place: 45.5% | Value: 0.41x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Coronationhercules (No.7) — $6.00 / $2.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why Tongue tie on first time, 2 wins from 3 on soft, and a Mornington win last start.
Roughie: Seeyou Raider (No.5) — $10.00 / $2.70
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.0% | Place: 28.6% | Value: 0.80x Steady since tip
Why Two wins in his last three starts, including a Kyneton 1479m win last start. He sits handy from barrier 6, and if the leaders go hard he can run on.
Race 8 – bet365 Kyneton Cup
Race type: Open, 2006m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, and nobody maps to lead, but Bring Forth, Placo and Yahoo Bar are the likeliest to find the front. Yahoo Bar and Ragazzone are the ones the shape helps most, while Placo is the one it works against with a map factor of 0.82. The Pendragon sits midfield from barrier 8 with a map factor of 0.93, so the shape is against him.
Punty read: The Pendragon is the bet. He won at Horsham 2100m last start, 2kg down in weight, and Damian Lane is riding him. The market has drifted from $3.60 to $4.80, and I'm not scared of that. Placo is the danger, with a 1st at Morphettville 2000m last start and 4 wins from 12 on soft, but the shape doesn't help him.
Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)
1. The Pendragon (No.1) — $4.80 / $1.95
Bet $7.50 Win, return $36.00
Prob 20.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.98x Steady since tip
Why Won at Horsham last start, 2kg down in weight, and the trainer's hot streak is the best on the card at this trip.
2. Placo (No.8) — $8.00 / $2.70
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 1.11x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.70 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Sun Gift (No.4) — $4.80 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.8% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.66x Steady since tip
Why 3 wins and 5 seconds from 28 starts, with a 2nd at Cranbourne 2025m last start. Billy Egan's form is hot at this track.
Roughie: Regal Lion (No.9) — $15.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.2% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.93x Steady since tip
Why Heavy move from $26.00 to $15.00 with three hard-luck runs (held up, bumped and interference) in his recent form. He's a roughie with a reason to be better this time.
Race 9 – Prendergast Earthmoving (Bm62)
Race type: Benchmark 62, 1203m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, with Thinking Sensation from barrier 9 the only leader, and a long list of runners who are close enough to press him. Bold Bordeaux, Miss Ellaneous, Brutal World, Colt Forty Five and Tomanado are the ones the shape helps most. Chasing Rainbows sits handy from barrier 7 with a map factor of 0.98, so the shape is against him.
Punty read: Chasing Rainbows is the bet at $2.40, and the reason is that he has been firming from $2.85 with a fast closing sectional. He's 1 win and 1 second from 2 starts, and Kyneton is his track. The danger is Extreme Turbo, who has a strong jockey strike rate and a strong record on the speed, and Brutal World, who has been winning at Kyneton and Donald.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Chasing Rainbows (No.10) — $2.40 / $1.35
Bet $10.50 Win, return $25.20
Prob 17.7% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.42x Steady since tip
Why He's the market's pick with the best closing sectionals on the card, and his Kyneton win shows he handles the track.
2. Extreme Turbo (No.7) — $10.00 / $3.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.4% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.14x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $3.30 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Brutal World (No.12) — $10.00 / $3.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.9% | Place: 45.6% | Value: 1.09x Steady since tip
Why Two wins in his last three starts, including a Kyneton 1203m win, and the shape is in his favour.
Roughie: Bold Bordeaux (No.1) — $9.00 / $3.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.8% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.79x Steady since tip
Why The shape is the best on the card for him, with a map factor of 1.21, and he's a 1st at Sale last year and a 2 wins from 6 record.
SEQUENCE LANES
EARLY QUADDIE (R2–R5)
Smart: 4,2,6,7 / 2,5,3 / 3,1,6 / 7,2,6,5 (144 combos x $0.3472 = $50.00) -- 34.7% flexi
Punty's take: R3 is only two horses and R4 and R5 are tight on the top picks, so those are the legs that keep the ticket honest. R2 is wide open, and the 41.7% flexi sits above the 30% floor, so it's a solid play for the money.
QUADDIE (R6–R9)
Smart: 5,6,9,3 / 7,2,11 / 1,4,8,9 / 10,12,1,7 (192 combos x $0.33854 = $65.00) -- 33.9% flexi
Punty's take: R6 is tight on Lunar Force and R7 has three horses at the top, with R8 and R9 wide open. The 33.9% flexi sits above the 30% floor, and a $5 to $10 winner in one of the open legs is what makes this pay.
BIG 6 (R4–R9)
Smart: 3,1,6 / 7,2,6,5 / 5,6,9,3,4 / 7,2,11,5 / 1,4,8,9,2 / 10,12,1,7 (4800 combos x $0.001042 = $5.00) -- 0.10% flexi
Punty's take: Entertainment only. Six legs and 4800 combos at 0.10% flexi means it only pays if almost everything goes right, so treat it as a ticket for the fun of the thing.
NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK
1 - Winkers on first time for Holding Captive
Winkers are on first time for Holding Captive in R9, and he was second at Cranbourne last start. Watch the market on him.
2 - Job Done has won both first-up starts
Job Done's first-up record is 2 wins from 2, and he's 171 days off. The market has him at $3.00, so the first-up record is the thing to back.
3 - Ryanman's drift is the biggest on the card
Ryanman has drifted from $41.00 out to $61.00 in R9, and I can't see a reason for it in the data, so I'm not going to make one up for you.
THE LOOSE UNIT LOUNGE
Kyneton has the speed in the right places and the favourites in the right races. Back the picks I've staked, respect the roughies, and keep the Big 6 for the fun of it.
