Rightio Loose Units, Port Macquarie Heavy 8, rail True, and the track's the sort that turns races into wet matches, you know the ones where you pick the right fella and then yell "get there" anyway. We've got a spine today, Big 3 loaded, and the Quaddie is built off the same backbone.

2, 3 seconds of meeting vibe: tempo is looking slow to moderate across a bunch, which means map positions and gear changes matter a heap, especially for the ones settling handy. Race 1 and Race 7 are the "keep it simple" looks, while Race 2, Race 3 and Race 6 are the chaos tax.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Port Macquarie, 1000m to 1800m card
Rail: True
Official going: Heavy 8
Weather: Fine, gusts 11.1km/h
Early lane guess: unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Slow pace (Race 1), slow pace at 1000m (Race 2), genuine pace again (Race 3), slow pace (Race 4), moderate pace (Race 5), moderate pace (Race 6), moderate pace (Race 7)
Jockeys to follow:
Aaron Bullock: 8 rides today, and he's popping up on real shape horses across the card
Daniel Smith: 6 rides today, includes major market and map threats
Jenny Duggan: 6 rides today, on runners with clear speed-map jobs
Stables to respect:
P Cheers (7 runners): heavy involvement, and has a few runners in the mix across the card
Ms V McLennan (6 runners): frequent bookings, plus horses stacked in the action
Sally Taylor (5 runners): shows up all over the place, including key Class and Maiden spots

Punty's take:

My day starts with the obvious spine, Siccius in Race 1 because the map fits and the price is still sitting there like value bait. Then we swing to Race 7 where Yesspecially looks built to control it, with Wild Monarch and Newy sitting in the exact spots to pressure if the race opens up. Final leg of the Big 3 is Polymer in Race 5, because it's the benchmark 66 race and the 1100m sprint setup suits a go-forward type.

Now, quick read on the "don't overthink it" map horses:
Race 1, Siccius (No.4) maps MIDFIELD and the pace is slow, that's a perfect recipe for finishing without doing cartwheels over the wet. Race 4 is a Benchmark 58 slog, and Aye Aye Skipper (No.5) is the one with the speed profile to keep finding. Race 6 is a 1000m speed duel sort of class, and Putinacall (No.10) gets the kind of profile that can survive in Heavy 8.

What it means for you:

Aggressive spots today are Race 1, Race 5, and Race 7. Protect your position bets in the chaos lanes, Race 2, Race 3 and Race 6, because Heavy 8 makes hold-ups and wide runs normal behaviour. The Quaddie ticket is built to respect the "key three" legs, then widen one or two where the race shape gives you permission to dream.

If you're only playing a small number of bets, anchor the spine, and treat the Quaddie as a fun, engineered card, not a prayer.

PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI

1 - Siccius (Race 1, No.4) — $2.50
Why Slow pace in a Heavy 8 Class 1, Siccius maps MIDFIELD and has the "finish without needing a miracle" profile.
2 - Yesspecially (Race 7, No.4) — $2.75
Why Genuine pace up front, Yesspecially maps ON-PACE and has been proving it wins, straight out, not via sympathy.
3 - Polymer (Race 5, No.4) — $2.40
Why Benchmark 66 at 1100m, Polymer has the map and form to sit in the right strip and keep going on wet ground.

Multi (all three to win): $10 × 16.50 = $165.00

Race 1 – Eather Recruitment Plate (C1)

Race type: Class 1, 1800m
Map & tempo: Pace: Slow Pace, Sir Zino (1.10) and Mission Strike (1.14) advantaged on pace, Firealarm (0.79), Hardash (0.81) and Siccius (0.79) disadvantaged. Siccius maps MIDFIELD, Mission Strike maps BACKMARKER, Artie Lady maps BACKMARKER, with the main pressure coming from the ON-PACE pocket.
Punty read: Siccius (No.4) is the staked pick, and the betting fit is clear. In a slow 1800m where the speed is not flying, MIDFIELD is prime, especially on Heavy 8 where you want ground and timing, not panic.

Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)

1. Siccius (No.4) — $2.50 / $1.15
Bet $7.50 Win, return $18.75
Prob 34.2% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why Slow tempo helps a MIDFIELD settle. Form and the market saying it's live, and it has that place profile that saves your ticket.

2. Mission Strike (No.8) — $3.40 / $1.37
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.8% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.71x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.37 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Artie Lady (No.6) — $5.00 / $1.62
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.02x Steady since tip
Why L600 fastest on sectionals, but it's the Heavy 8 and the drifting price that makes it dangerous, it's in the right finish mode.

Roughie: Hardash (No.3) — $19.00 / $3.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 3.9% | Place: 22.3% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why If the pace doesn't kick and the leaders punch through, Hardash's backmarker style can sneak into the trifecta scrum.

Race 2 – Robbie Agnew Racing Country Boosted Mdn Hcp

Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Pace: Genuine Pace. Universal Energy (1.12), Must Diamond (1.12), Star Of Vega (1.12) and the rest are pace advantaged, so the early pressure is real. Map jobs: Universal Energy maps LEADER, De Riguer maps UNKNOWN, and the ON-PACE types line up to occupy the first call.
Punty read: De Riguer (No.11) is watch-only, but this is the chaos sprint where the best value sits in the place range and the pace can do funny things in Heavy 8.

Top 3 + Roughie ($9.00 pool)

1. De Riguer (No.11) — $4.20 / $1.80
Bet $9.00 Each Way ($4.50W + $4.50P), collects $27.00 if it wins ($18.90 win + $8.10 place), $8.10 if it only places
Prob 16.7% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.70x Steady since tip
Why It maps UNKNOWN in the table, but it's trained well for this sort, and on a genuine 1000m you want a runner that can get through traffic late.

2. Stormy Martini (No.13) — $4.00 / $1.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.64x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Mama Tried (No.1) — $4.60 / $1.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.0% | Place: 41.4% | Value: 0.64x Steady since tip
Why Big pace day means the inside can save you ground, plus it's running with numbers that suit the Heavy 8 tempo.

Roughie: Star Of Vega (No.6) — $20.00 / $4.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.2% | Place: 17.8% | Value: 0.83x Steady since tip
Why ON-PACE type that can hold on if the run turns into a slog, roughie value if the leaders fold late.

Race 3 – Beau South Roof Restorations And Repairs Mdn Plate

Race type: Maiden, 1500m
Map & tempo: Pace: Slow Pace. Pace advantaged: Bobbiwaa (1.10), Bon Batan (1.14), Insain Chaos (1.14), Prince Of Wants (1.14) and more. Map jobs: Insain Chaos maps MIDFIELD, Dynamic Diva maps BACKMARKER, Bobbiwaa maps ON-PACE.
Punty read: Insain Chaos (No.5) is the staked pick in a Maiden where the speed is slow, which usually makes the MIDFIELD types harder to kill.

Top 3 + Roughie ($8.50 pool)

1. Insain Chaos (No.5) — $4.40 / $1.85
Bet $8.50 Win, return $37.40
Prob 17.5% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.77x Steady since tip
Why It's MIDFIELD with blinkers first time and a lugging bit first time. In Heavy 8, gear that sharpens focus is gold.

2. Dynamic Diva (No.13) — $5.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.2% | Place: 45.7% | Value: 0.89x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.15 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Bobbiwaa (No.2) — $4.80 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.2% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.73x Steady since tip
Why ON-PACE map with the slow tempo likely to make it run on instead of just pinching a soft lead.

Roughie: Prince Of Wants (No.8) — $20.00 / $4.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.3% | Place: 20.7% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why BACKMARKER with a pace-advantaged profile in this race, if the speed collapses, it can fly late.

Race 4 – MNC Solar (Bm58)

Race type: Benchmark 58, 1500m
Map & tempo: Pace: Moderate Pace. Prince Of Prophets (1.14), Chief Of Staff (1.10) and Aye Aye Skipper are in the pocket. Map jobs: Aye Aye Skipper maps ON-PACE, Chief Of Staff maps MIDFIELD, Prince Of Prophets maps BACKMARKER.
Punty read: Aye Aye Skipper (No.5) is the bet, each way, because ON-PACE in a moderate 1500m on Heavy 8 often wins the "who gets first crack" lottery.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Aye Aye Skipper (No.5) — $4.80 / $1.90
Bet $15.00 Each Way ($7.50W + $7.50P), collects $50.25 if it wins ($36.00 win + $14.25 place), $14.25 if it only places
Prob 22.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.07x Steady since tip
Why Map is ON-PACE and it's in good Class positioning. The race shape suits leading or stalking close, and Heavy 8 makes that margin bigger.

2. Chief Of Staff (No.4) — $3.40 / $1.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.2% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.55x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Prince Of Prophets (No.1) — $5.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why BACKMARKER with a slick time profile in sectionals. It's the "got through cleanly" danger.

Roughie: Purple Kitty (No.7) — $11.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.9% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.09x Steady since tip
Why MIDFIELD runner who can be alive late if the leaders soften and the finish becomes a grind.

Race 5 – Cascade Pools Country Boosted (Bm66)

Race type: Benchmark 66, 1100m
Map & tempo: Pace: Moderate Pace. Geegee Jet By (1.10), Highland Force (1.11), The Lupercal (1.10) advantaged. Map jobs: Polymer maps MIDFIELD, Highland Force maps LEADER, Ex Wife maps ON-PACE.
Punty read: Polymer (No.4) is the anchor, it's short for a reason, and at 1100m on Heavy 8, MIDFIELD is usually where the clean run comes from.

Top 3 + Roughie ($4.50 pool)

1. Polymer (No.4) — $2.40 / $1.25
Bet $4.50 Win, return $10.80
Prob 23.9% | Place: 59.5% | Value: 0.57x Steady since tip
Why Benchmark 66, it's the correct map profile, and the market has taken the short price path for a reason.

2. A Touch From Fayt (No.11) — $6.00 / $2.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.00x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.10 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Highland Force (No.6) — $7.00 / $2.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.7% | Place: 41.7% | Value: 0.96x Steady since tip
Why LEADER map, and leaders on 1100m can still hold a spot if the pace is controlled.

Roughie: The Lupercal (No.9) — $11.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.6% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.94x Steady since tip
Why MIDFIELD with a chance to take advantage if the sprint develops into a heavy scramble.

Race 6 – Coastal Fire Protection Hcp (C1)

Race type: Class 1, 1000m
Map & tempo: Pace: Moderate Pace. Leaders include Blind Squirrel (1.11), Markwell Topsort (1.12), Song For Rosie (1.12), Real Mccoy (1.10), Royal Eyre (1.12) and others. Map jobs: Putinacall maps ON-PACE, Blind Squirrel maps LEADER, Langlo Crossing maps ON-PACE.
Punty read: Putinacall (No.10) is the bet, each way. ON-PACE at 1000m on Heavy 8 is the sweet spot for not getting stuck too far back.

Top 3 + Roughie ($4.00 pool)

1. Putinacall (No.10) — $5.00 / $2.00
Bet $4.00 Each Way ($2.00W + $2.00P), collects $14.00 if it wins ($10.00 win + $4.00 place), $4.00 if it only places
Prob 18.2% | Place: 45.1% | Value: 0.91x Steady since tip
Why ON-PACE map, and Heavy 8 at 1000m means the ones that land in front or close get the cleanest run.

2. Blind Squirrel (No.2) — $6.50 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.97x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Markwell Topsort (No.3) — $9.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.8% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 1.06x Steady since tip
Why ON-PACE map and recent form supports it, it's a "plug into the trifecta" type.

Roughie: Royal Eyre (No.6) — $12.00 / $3.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.2% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.74x Steady since tip
Why LEADER map, so it can get brave early, and if it holds position, it collects money.

Race 7 – Macquarie Sign Group Hcp (C2)

Race type: Class 2, 1200m
Map & tempo: Pace: Genuine Pace. Wishful Thinker is advantaged, plus Newy, Yesspecially, King Soleil and others. Map jobs: Yesspecially maps ON-PACE, Wild Monarch maps MIDFIELD, Newy maps ON-PACE.
Punty read: Yesspecially (No.4) is the staked pick and it looks the cleanest "win it or get stitched trying" type in a genuine pace 1200m.

Top 3 + Roughie ($4.50 pool)

1. Yesspecially (No.4) — $2.75 / $1.40
Bet $4.50 Win, return $12.38
Prob 30.3% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.83x Steady since tip
Why ON-PACE in genuine pace, and it's been doing the work recently with wins across the board. Wet track or not, it can box seat.

2. Wild Monarch (No.8) — $3.50 / $1.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 24.0% | Place: 60.2% | Value: 0.84x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.50 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Newy (No.2) — $3.90 / $1.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.4% | Place: 54.2% | Value: 0.72x Steady since tip
Why ON-PACE map and recent win form, it's the obvious pressure runner for Yesspecially.

Roughie: Dirty Does It (No.7) — $11.00 / $2.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.7% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.85x Steady since tip
Why MIDFIELD runner that can land in the right spot in Heavy 8 if it doesn't get caught wide.

NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK

1 - Slow 1800m, but don't get cute with Siccius.
Siccius maps MIDFIELD in a Race 1 that's flagged as Slow Pace. On Heavy 8, that kind of profile often means you're landing your run rather than chasing wind.

2 - The chaos sprint in Race 2 is set up for each-way coverage.
De Riguer is locked as a each-way play at $4.20 / $1.80, and the race tempo is Genuine Pace. In a 1000m sprint, the wrong place can kill you, the right place saves you.

3 - The Quaddie leg you widen is the one you should.
Race 6 is marked OPEN_BUNCH in the sequence plan, and Putinacall, Blind Squirrel and Markwell Topsort are all in play with ON-PACE and LEADER maps. That's the wet-scramble you want in the ticket, not the predictable one.

SEQUENCE LANES

QUADDIE (R4–R7)

Smart: 5,4,1,7 / 4,11,6 / 2,10,3,6 / 4,8,2 (144 combos x $0.3472 = $50.00) -- 34.7% flexi
Punty's take: R4 is a wide open trio situation, R5 narrows to the Polymer, Fayt, Highland Force lane, R6 is an open speed scramble, and R7 is the "don't get cute" leg with Yesspecially and the pressure runners.

FINAL WORD FROM THE SICKO SANCTUARY

Go get your spine done, then let the Quaddie do what Quaddies do, trip over the finish line like a drunk mate trying to dance. Siccius, Yesspecially, Polymer, and then we let Heavy 8 prove who's boss.
