Punty's Early Mail
For all of Punty's tips for Townsville, head to https://punty.ai/tips/townsville-2026-10-25
Rightio Degenerates, it's a soft 5 at Townsville with rain falling on and off all day, nine races, and a card that splits neatly into two halves: a bunch of slow-motion maidens early and a few proper speed fights in the back half. Grab a cuppa, get your rain jacket on, and let's get into it.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Townsville, 1000m to 1609m card
Rail: True (rail position not given in the data, so check the rail before the first jump)
Official going: Soft 5 (17mm in the last 24hrs, 23.5mm in the last 7 days)
Weather: Raining. 0.2mm since 9am, 0.2mm in the last hour, gusts 18.5km/h. Rain risk is 40%+ at multiple checkpoints through the afternoon.
Early lane guess: unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Races 1, 2, 4 and 7 are slow-pace affairs. Races 3 and 5 are genuine pace, with Hurkle Durkle and Brave Agenda the ones to watch on the lead. Race 6 is the hot one, with three leaders in Roweiner's Dance, Hartshorn and Admitted. Races 8 and 9 are moderate.
Jockeys to follow:
Anthony Allen: nine rides, the most on the card, including Kickoff in Race 9 and Ask Me Mate in Race 7, and he's J-HOT at 15.0% over his last 100 rides.
Ashley Butler: seven rides and 20.2% at this track (668/3304), riding Ellis Beach in Race 5 and Ziggy Starcraft in Race 8.
Ryan Wiggins: six rides, including Booming Belief in Race 2, who he's won on at 17.4% at this track and 37.5% (12/32) alongside trainer F J Wieland.
Stables to respect:
Georgie Holt (6 runners): Rock The Sunrise in Race 5 is our Big 3 leg, and Ellis Beach is in the same race, with Cifonelli in Race 9 as well.
Graham R Hughes (6 runners): Ready Tiger in Race 5, Dynamic Legend in Race 3 and Better Option in Race 2 give them a spread across the card.
Matthew McGuire (5 runners): Admitted in Race 6 is the one to note, with Divine Soul and Nicco Nota Fighter in Race 2, Bairuku in Race 4 and Whirlwind in Race 7.
Punty's take: Here's the thing about Townsville today, the speed is mostly up front in the middle of the card and not much at the start. Races 1, 2 and 4 are going to be dawdling affairs where the horses that can get up the straight will have a go, and that's a real issue for the front-runners and a gift for anyone who can sit off. Race 1 is a fascinating one because the map has nobody on the lead. Gotcha Moment is the only on-pace runner, and the rest are backmarkers or midfield, so Blazing Future sitting back and running on looks like the right way to play it. Then Races 3 and 5 are the genuine-pace races. Hurkle Durkle is the leader in Race 3 and gets the pace advantage, and Brave Agenda is the same in Race 5. Race 6 is the hot one. Three leaders in a 1000m dash, so the early speed will be going at it hammer and tongs, and the closers look dangerous there. Races 8 and 9 are more even, with Cifonelli sitting right out the back in Race 9 and Ziggy Starcraft the one with the speed in Race 8.
What it means for you: The banker-ish race of the day is Race 5 on the back of Rock The Sunrise, a horse that's won his last start at Ewan and has the best sectionals profile in the field. Race 6 is where I'm going to be aggressive with Roweiner's Dance, because he's a sprinter who's won at this track and at this distance, and the hot pace won't stop him without help. Race 1 is my early win on Blazing Future at a short price, and I'm happy with that, but the place price is tight so I'm not going to pretend it's a steal. In the rest of the card I'm playing very light. Race 7 is a single win bet on Ask Me Mate, Race 9 is a win bet on Cifonelli, and everything else is watch and see. The sequences are wide where the chaos sits, but the flexi on the big ticket is so thin you're basically buying a lottery ticket for fun, so keep it small.
PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI
These are the three bets the day leans on.
1 - Blazing Future (Race 1, No.2) — $2.10
Why Blinkers come off for the first time, he went 2nd at Townsville 1400m last start beaten 0.1L, and the map has him sitting back where he can pick up the pieces in a slow race.
2 - Rock The Sunrise (Race 5, No.3) — $2.90
Why Won his last start at Ewan 1750m and has a 2-1-1 record from 5 on soft, plus the sectional profile of a horse that finishes strongly in a genuine pace race.
3 - Roweiner's Dance (Race 6, No.1) — $4.20
Why Leads a hot pace, which sounds ugly, but he's won 14 from 26 at this distance and 7 from 13 on soft, so the class is there to hold off the chasers.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × 25.58 = $255.80
Race 1 – TCC Be Water Wise 365 Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1609m
Map & tempo: Slow pace. No LEADER on the map. Gotcha Moment is the only ON-PACE runner. Blazing Future, Auzangate, Farnanheit, In The Hole Tiger, Powered Right Up and Nobel Peace are all BACKMARKERS. Power Cruise, Royal Edition and Perfect Fawaz are MIDFIELD. Singapore Spice is UNKNOWN. Auzangate, Farnanheit and Nobel Peace are pace disadvantaged.
Punty read: Blazing Future is the bet here. He's got the speed rank of the field's fastest early rating, but the map has him back in the pack, which is where he'll want to be in a slow race. Blinkers come off for the first time, and he's been close in his last two runs with 2nd at Townsville 1400m beaten 0.1L. He's yet to win on soft from 7 starts, with one second and one third, which is the one thing that worries me, but he's the most likely winner on the card. Auzangate is the danger, a back-of-the-field horse who finished 2nd at Townsville 1609m last start. Nobel Peace has form at this track that suits, and Gotcha Moment's last run was a 9th at Bowen, so I'm not interested there.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Blazing Future (No.2) — $2.15 / $1.20
Bet $13.00 Win, return $27.95
Prob 36.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.79x Steady since tip
Why The best horse in the race on the card and the one I'd want to be holding if the race goes slow and the backmarkers come into it. Blinkers off first time, and the place price tells you what the market thinks of him.
2. Auzangate (No.1) — $5.50 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.2% | Place: 53.6% | Value: 1.11x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.95 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Nobel Peace (No.11) — $4.80 / $1.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.67x Steady since tip
Why Ashley Butler has been effective here at 20.2% and the pair have combined at 25.1%. The 4th at Townsville 1400m last start shows he is close, but he's a backmarker in a slow race, and that's a hard spot.
Roughie: Gotcha Moment (No.4) — $10.00 / $2.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.5% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why The only on-pace runner in a race without a leader, so if the early speed is looking thin he gets an easy lead. The problem is his last start was a 9th at Bowen and he's only raced on soft with no wins.
Race 2 – WIN News Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1200m
Map & tempo: Slow pace. Squadrons and Bank Interest are ON-PACE. Better Option, Divine Soul, Harry Hot Laps and Princess Knowitall are BACKMARKERS. Nicco Nota Fighter, Booming Belief, Foxy Cheval, Whispers Of Ziaan and Yellow Crate are MIDFIELD. Harry Hot Laps and Princess Knowitall are pace disadvantaged.
Punty read: Booming Belief is the each-way play. He's the one the map puts in the midfield, which is a good spot in a slow race, and he's got the best place rate in the field. His last start was a 4th at Cairns, held up and beaten 2.9L, and he's been placed on soft twice from five starts. Bank Interest is the one to fear, sitting on the speed in a slow race, but I'm not going to put money on him at this price. Foxy Cheval is in the same boat, a midfielder who has been beaten by interference and wide runs and could run into the money if the front-runners fade. Harry Hot Laps is the roughie, but the pace disadvantage is a real drag.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Booming Belief (No.7) — $3.80 / $1.65
Bet $15.00 Each Way ($7.50W + $7.50P), collects $40.88 if it wins ($28.50 win + $12.38 place), $12.38 if it only places
Prob 25.5% | Place: 54.4% | Value: 0.97x Steady since tip
Why The midfield map and the place rate make him the each-way pick. Ryan Wiggins is the rider, and he's been strong with Wieland's team, so the market has him right where I'd want him.
2. Bank Interest (No.1) — $3.50 / $1.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.7% | Place: 48.2% | Value: 0.72x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Foxy Cheval (No.8) — $5.50 / $1.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.8% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.81x Steady since tip
Why Midfield in a slow race with two rough runs last start-ish, both wide or bumped. Lacey Morrison is a good rider at this track and that matters. He's a place chance if it all lines up.
Roughie: Harry Hot Laps (No.4) — $16.00 / $3.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.5% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.88x Steady since tip
Why Bumped and hampered in his last run at Townsville, and Anthony Allen is hot right now. He needs the slow pace to change, and it's unlikely given his map position.
Race 3 – Cowboys Leagues Club Mdn Hcp
Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace. Hurkle Durkle is the LEADER and gets the pace advantage. Rum And Kirk, Dynamic Legend and Chica Poderosa are ON-PACE. Vincentvangee, Leap Of Joy, Stretch The Monkey, Leuboom, Army Green, Van Der Woodsen and Webs are MIDFIELD. Global Energy is UNKNOWN. Rum And Kirk is pace disadvantaged.
Punty read: Dynamic Legend is the one I'm backing. He's got the highest place rate in the race at 55.9%, speed rank 2, and the map has him on pace behind Hurkle Durkle. The issue is he hasn't raced for 851 days, and his only start was on 2024 form, so this is a first-up horse who's a real question mark. Global Energy is the one I'm watching, with visors and ear muffs both on for the first time, and he won his last start at Townsville 850m. Army Green is a 1st at Townsville 850m last start and he's a midfielder who could run through it. Hurkle Durkle is the danger on the lead, and with the pace advantage he could get home.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Dynamic Legend (No.5) — $3.80 / $1.65
Bet $15.00 Win, return $57.00
Prob 22.5% | Place: 49.6% | Value: 0.85x Steady since tip
Why The place rate in this race is the best of anything here, and he's sitting right behind the leader on a genuine pace. The 851 days off is the hole, and I'm not pretending otherwise, but this is my pick.
2. Global Energy (No.6) — $4.60 / $1.82
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.66x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.82 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Army Green (No.11) — $4.60 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.2% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.65x Steady since tip
Why Won at Townsville 850m last start and Tahlia Fenlon is hot at 16.0% over her last 100 rides. A midfield runner in a genuine pace race can be dangerous.
Roughie: Hurkle Durkle (No.9) — $10.00 / $3.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.5% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why The only LEADER in the field on a genuine pace with the pace advantage. Ear muffs and tongue tie both come off first time, and Lacey Morrison has combined with him at 29.5%. If he gets clear, nobody's going to catch him easily.
Race 4 – Ladbrokes Pallarenda Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Slow pace. No map positions in this race, so nobody has a settling spot on the card.
Punty read: No Bet today. This is a 2yo maiden first-starter field with zero form, which is a no-go for me. Roweiner's Magic has come in from $5.50 to $3.50, so the market is backing him, but without form I can't tell you why. Denali and Bairuku are the ones to keep an eye on, and Boogie On By's ear muffs going on first time are a bit of colour, but I'm sitting this one out.
Bet Tracked
Race 5 – Ray White Geaney Kirkwood (Bm70)
Race type: Benchmark 70, 1400m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace. Brave Agenda is the LEADER and gets the pace advantage. Ready Tiger, Rock The Sunrise and Ellis Beach are ON-PACE. Innovates and Darts Daly are MIDFIELD. Central Park is a BACKMARKER. Darts Daly is pace disadvantaged.
Punty read: Rock The Sunrise is the bet, and I'm happy with it. He's a horse that's won at Ewan at 1750m last start and has done well at this distance, with 3 wins from 8 at 1400m or thereabouts, and his sectionals show a fast last 400m. Ellis Beach is the danger from the on-pace position, and his market firming from $5.50 to $4.40 says the money is with him. Brave Agenda is the leader on a genuine pace with the advantage, but he's drifted from $2.85 to $4.00, so the market is cooling on him. Darts Daly has been winning at 0 from 9 at 58-71kg, which is a warning sign for a horse on the back of a market firm.
Top 3 + Roughie ($11.64 pool)
1. Rock The Sunrise (No.3) — $2.90 / $1.62
Bet $11.64 Win, return $33.76
Prob 25.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why Won at Ewan last start, with a fast last 400m on the sectionals and 2-1-1 on soft. Aidan Holt and Georgie Holt are a useful combination at 21.7%.
2. Ellis Beach (No.5) — $4.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 21.4% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.96x Steady since tip
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Brave Agenda (No.4) — $4.20 / place tote
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.6% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.78x Steady since tip
Why He's the pace-advantaged leader and won his last start at Townsville 1400m, but the drift from $2.85 to $4.00 tells me the market doesn't love it.
Roughie: Ready Tiger (No.2) — $13.00 / $4.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.9% | Place: 16.7% | Value: 0.63x Steady since tip
Why On the speed behind Brave Agenda and racing with plenty of tempo around him. Last start he was 9th and wide, so if he settles better, he's a running chance at a big price.
Race 6 – Signature Glass & Aluminium Hcp
Race type: Open, 1000m
Map & tempo: Hot pace. Roweiner's Dance, Hartshorn and Admitted are the LEADERS. Russian Mint, Sowilo Siren and The Kamikaze are ON-PACE. Nottington Prince is MIDFIELD. Russian Mint gets the pace advantage and Roweiner's Dance is pace disadvantaged.
Punty read: Roweiner's Dance is the bet. He's the leader in a hot pace, which looks ugly on paper, but he's a 14-win horse at this distance from 26 starts and he's been dominant at this track with 14 wins from 28. His market price is $4.20, which is good value for a horse with that record. Hartshorn is the danger on the lead alongside him, and Russian Mint is the one coming from on pace with the pace advantage, which is the most dangerous combination in the race. Sowilo Siren is the roughie that could run the leaders down.
Top 3 + Roughie ($11.64 pool)
1. Roweiner's Dance (No.1) — $4.40 / $2.05
Bet $11.64 Win, return $51.22
Prob 25.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.13x Steady since tip
Why Track and distance specialist who's got the class to lead in a hot pace and still see the line. I'm not scared of the speed battle.
2. Hartshorn (No.3) — $3.10 / $1.62
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.73x Steady since tip
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Russian Mint (No.2) — $3.60 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.0% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.61x Steady since tip
Why The pace advantage sits with him and he's 6 wins from 13 at this track. He's first-up after 77 days, with a 7-1-1 first-up record, which is a real question mark.
Roughie: Sowilo Siren (No.6) — $9.00 / $3.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.6% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.77x Steady since tip
Why On pace in a hot race, so if the leaders go too hard he runs them down. He's 3 wins from 5 at this distance and has dropped 4kg for this run.
Race 7 – Mick Harris 50th (Bm65)
Race type: Benchmark 65, 1609m
Map & tempo: Slow pace. Intruder is the on-pace speed rank 1 horse and gets the pace advantage. Beta Better is ON-PACE. Garinion Righ, Ask Me Mate, Whirlwind, Twin Turbo and Ask Me Mate are MIDFIELD. Nippa's Nightcap, Betta Al, Khals, Zeamaize and Manhattan's are BACKMARKERS. Nippa's Nightcap and Twin Turbo are pace disadvantaged.
Punty read: Ask Me Mate is the bet, a midfielder in a slow race who's won 3 from 12 on soft and ran 3rd at Townsville 1400m last start, beaten 0.5L. Anthony Allen is the rider, and he's hot right now. Intruder is the danger, the on-pace horse with the pace advantage and a fast early speed rank. He's 2 wins from 17 on soft though, so there's a question about whether he can get the job done. Beta Better is the other on-pace runner and he's a danger if the race sets up for him. Khals is an interesting one from the backmarker position, but he's been carrying 60-62kg.
Top 3 + Roughie ($5.00 pool)
1. Ask Me Mate (No.5) — $3.60 / $1.60
Bet $5.00 Win, return $18.00
Prob 20.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why Midfield in a slow race and 3rd at Townsville 1400m last start. Anthony Allen is riding well at 15.0% over his last 100 rides, and the slow pace is what suits a horse who's better when things are on his terms.
2. Intruder (No.2) — $3.70 / $1.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.8% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.62x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.65 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Beta Better (No.6) — $6.50 / $2.25
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.9% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.84x Steady since tip
Why On pace in a slow race with 1 win from 6 on soft and a 1-3 record at 1609m. He's a danger if the slow pace suits him.
Roughie: Garinion Righ (No.4) — $9.00 / $2.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.1% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.82x Steady since tip
Why Midfield, and he's a 4-1-0 record on track. Aidan Holt is riding him and the Georgie Holt yard has some runners to watch. He's the one to watch if the favourites get tangled.
Race 8 – Great Northern Hcp (55)
Race type: Restricted 55, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace. Ziggy Starcraft is the speed-advantaged horse on ON-PACE. Ceretti and Sweet Candy are ON-PACE. Wiser, General Gordon, Electromagnetic, She's A Beauty, Tarong, Let's Ride and Craicaro are MIDFIELD. Extra Free and Tipped Off are BACKMARKERS.
Punty read: She's A Beauty is the each-way play. She's the place pick in this race at 59.7%, the best place rate on the card in this field, and the market has been backing her from $6.00 to $4.60. She's been 3rd at Townsville last start and she's got the soft form to back it up. Extra Free is the one with the sectional speed, fastest last 600m and last 400m, but the map has him back in the field and he hasn't been winning on soft. Let's Ride is backed in from $7.00 to $5.00, and the market is telling me something about him. Ziggy Starcraft is the speed in a moderate pace, which is a danger.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. She's A Beauty (No.5) — $4.60 / $1.90
Bet $15.00 Each Way ($7.50W + $7.50P), collects $48.75 if it wins ($34.50 win + $14.25 place), $14.25 if it only places
Prob 19.5% | Place: 62.7% | Value: 0.90x Steady since tip
Why The best place chance in the race, and the market is backing her. She's 3rd at Townsville last start, and her soft record and the midfield map put her right where I want her.
2. Extra Free (No.2) — $7.00 / $2.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.21x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Let's Ride (No.10) — $5.50 / $2.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.85x Steady since tip
Why Backed from $7.00 to $5.00, with a 3rd at Townsville 1000m last start, 0.8L beaten. A good chance to run into the placings.
Roughie: General Gordon (No.3) — $20.00 / $4.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.9% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 0.98x Steady since tip
Why Midfield in a moderate race with a 3rd at Townsville 850m last start, and the drift from $10.00 to $18.00 means the market has gone cold. If the favourites fold, he's a price.
Race 9 – Aura Property Qld Plate (C5)
Race type: Class 5, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace. Mclovin and Indefinite are the pace-advantaged runners, both ON-PACE. Cifonelli and Diamond Lucy are pace disadvantaged. Cifonelli is the BACKMARKER. Chartwell, Kickoff, Keep Safe and Sand 'n' Power are ON-PACE. Khumbila, Russian Summer, Diamond Lucy and Khabalov are MIDFIELD.
Punty read: Cifonelli is the bet. He's the favourite at $2.30 and I'm happy to take a short price on a horse who's 5 wins from 18 and has been fast in the sectionals, with a best time at 1200m that makes him the one to beat. He's a backmarker and pace-disadvantaged, but the sectionals say he runs late and gets his chances. Kickoff is the on-pace danger, firming from $8.00 to $7.00, with a 3rd at Townsville 1200m last start. Khumbila is the one to watch, backed from $10.00 to $7.50, and he's been a 2nd at Townsville 850m last start. Keep Safe is the midfielder who could run through it if the speed collapses.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Cifonelli (No.1) — $2.30 / $1.30
Bet $15.00 Win, return $34.50
Prob 22.4% | Place: 54.1% | Value: 0.52x Steady since tip
Why Backmarker with the fastest sectionals over the last 600m and the last 400m, and he's won 3 from 9 at this track. Aidan Holt is riding and he's got the class to win off the back.
2. Kickoff (No.15) — $7.50 / $2.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.09x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.50 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Khumbila (No.6) — $7.50 / $2.55
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.2% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.06x Steady since tip
Why Backed from $10.00 to $7.50, with a 2nd at Townsville 850m last start, but carrying a warning sign at 60-62kg.
Roughie: Chartwell (No.4) — $11.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.5% | Place: 31.2% | Value: 0.93x Steady since tip
Why On pace in a moderate race, firming from $12.00 to $10.00. His last start was a 5th at Townsville 1200m with a medical issue and some wide running, so if he's right he's a danger from the front.
SEQUENCE LANES
EARLY QUADDIE (R2–R5)
Smart: 7,1,8,4 / 5,11,6,9 / 6,11,8,9 / 3,4,5 (192 combos x $0.30 = $57.60) -- 30% flexi
Punty's take: Race 2 and Race 4 hang off the main price, Race 3 and Race 5 are wide. The win shape is about Booming Belief and Rock The Sunrise, so this ticket lives or dies on the middle legs. Minimum flexi is 30%, so this is a real play with a decent return if the open races go right.
QUADDIE (R6–R9)
Smart: 3,1,2 / 5,2,6,4 / 5,2,10,8 / 1,15,6,4 (192 combos x $0.30 = $57.60) -- 30% flexi
Punty's take: Race 7 is tight with Ask Me Mate and Intruder, Race 8 is the open race with five chances, and Race 9 is wide. Four chaos legs on the back of a hot pace means the outlay is higher, but it's your best sequence on the card.
BIG 6 (R4–R9)
Smart: 6,9,1,11,8 / 3,4,5 / 3,1,2 / 5,2,6,4,9 / 5,2,10,8,9 / 1,15,6,4 (4500 combos x $0.00111 = $5.00) -- 0.11% flexi
Punty's take: Six legs, all wide, and the flexi is so thin that this is entertainment only. Treat the $5.00 as a lottery ticket and the payout as a fantasy unless you're happy to lose it.
NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK
1 - Blinkers come off for Blazing Future
Blinkers come off for the first time today, and his last start was a 2nd at Townsville 1400m beaten 0.1L. Watch the market on him.
2 - Roweiner's Magic's market is sliding in
He's been backed from $5.50 to $3.50 in Race 4, which the market rates as heavy support, even though he's a 2nd at Townsville 850m last start and the rest of the field has no form at all.
3 - Ryan Wiggins and F J Wieland are a dangerous combo
Booming Belief runs in Race 2 with Ryan Wiggins riding for trainer F J Wieland, and that pair have combined at 37.5% (12/32) at this track. Some combos are just made for each other, like Hall and Oates on a Friday arvo.
FINAL WORD FROM THE SICKO SANCTUARY
Townsville has been a handful for everyone on the card, so keep your bets small, your ticket tidy and your mates honest. Blazing Future is the early kick, and if he wins, you can buy the next round.
