Heavy 9 at Rosehill is basically a slow-motion action movie, where everyone's gear shift is slipping, and the plot depends on who gets clean ground and a decent breather. The winners tend to come from either the genuine speed leaders, or the midfield runners who can sit off them without getting dragged into the mud-bath too early.
There's a clear spine through the day too. Race 6 has Sword Of Legacy all over it, Race 7 Roselyn's Star is the same type of short-price assassin, and Race 1 Seeiaye looks like she's got every right to do the job. From there, I'm mostly protecting with place bets and using the roughies as the "if the speed collapses, I want a helicopter" option.
What it means for you:
Be aggressive where the market and the map line up, because on Heavy 9 you do not get a second chance when you're stuck behind tired horses. So in the first half, I'm leaning to the on-pace types and the ones with the cleaner run path.
In the back end, it's more about the finish, not the theory. If you're forced wide in the mud, you need class and a jockey who can sprint the last 200m without getting stuck in the scenery. Keep it simple early, then let the value and each-way legs do the heavy lifting for you.
