Rightio Degenerates, Flemington on a Good 4 with the rail out 6m on the entire circuit and a card running 1000m to 2500m. The sky has showers on it, and the rain risk sits at 70%+ at 11:00, 14:00 and 17:00, so keep one eye on the radar all day. Seven of nine races run a Genuine pace, which means most of this card rewards horses that can get a trip. Race 7 and Race 9 are the two sprints with a Hot pace up front, and those are where the chaos lives.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Flemington, 1000m to 2500m card
Rail: Out 6m Entire Circuit
Official going: Good 4 (0.2mm last 24 hours, 19.4mm last 7 days)
Weather: Showers, gusts 29.6km/h, rain risk 70%+ at 11:00, 14:00 and 17:00
Early lane guess: unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Genuine pace in Races 1 to 6 and Race 8, Hot pace in Races 7 and 9. Races 1, 3 and 8 each have a lone leader who can dictate, while Races 7 and 9 have three and four horses all wanting the front.
Jockeys to follow:
Damian Lane: Eight rides, including Sass Appeal in Race 4 and Cavalry Girl's stablemate Ice Kool in Race 9, so he's in more of the card than anyone.
Zac Lloyd: Seven rides, with Proxima Dea in Race 8 the one that matters most at the top of the market.
Jye McNeil: Seven rides, with Quick Finish in Race 8 the one I'd watch for pace management.
Stables to respect:
C Maher (8 runners): Eight runners, including Icelady in Race 8 and Calamari Ring in Race 7, so they're spread through the card.
C J Waller (5 runners): De Armas and Sequinned are the two that carry the most weight of the five, with Nobler and Tharwa also in the mix.
R D Griffiths (5 runners): Rey Magnerio in Race 9 and Nishioka in Race 7 are the pair to know.

Punty's take: Flemington has a clean speed map in most races, and that's the story of the day. Race 4 is the one where a lone leader is drawn wide and the whole field is waiting to see if he gets run down, but the market has already made Sass Appeal the banker of the bunch. Race 1 is a genuine headache. Diversity has the front to itself, but the runners drawn wide and the middle of the field are split on who can get into the race, and the market has been pushing the wide-drawn pair around. Race 8 looks like the cleanest race on the card, with Proxima Dea landing a map that suits its style. Race 9 is the one I'd treat as a bomb site, with four leaders in a sprint and Cavalry Girl drawn wide from barrier 12. The middle of the card has a lot of closers who can wait, and they're the ones who'll pay if the early leaders go too hard. Keep an eye on the stables too: C Maher has eight runners spread through the day and Icelady is the one who matters most in the feature.

What it means for you: Be aggressive in the banker-ish races, mainly Race 4 and Race 8, where the lead is uncontested or the market has a strong favourite who's been backed in. My plan is to keep the stakes tight on the short-priced ones and let the value sit in the middle races. Race 1 and Race 3 give you two places where a bit of patience could pay, and the Each Way on Alabama Fox in Race 2 is the one I'd keep an eye on early. The quaddies are built to catch a few chaos legs, and the Big 6 is a lottery ticket with a small outlay. Don't go chasing the price in the sprints if the early pace looks ugly on the day, because a Hot pace in Race 9 can reshuffle everything in the last 200m.

PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI

These are the three bets the day leans on.

1 - Sass Appeal (Race 4, No.2) — $1.75
Why He's a lone leader drawn wide, and the expected pace works against him, but he's four wins from six at Flemington with a Good record of five wins from nine. He's been finishing well in the races he's lost, so I'm not putting him down just because the map is awkward.
2 - Proxima Dea (Race 8, No.1) — $2.56
Why Five starts for five wins in the record, and the Randwick and Rosehill form is as good as it gets. The shape helps her from barrier 19, so she's got the best of the wide draw and the best of the pace.
3 - Cavalry Girl (Race 9, No.4) — $2.25
Why Seven wins from fifteen at this trip and the fastest closing sectionals in the race, and she's coming off a 1000m win at Caulfield. The four-way speed battle is ugly for her but she's still got the class to hold on.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × 10.08 = $100.80

Race 1 – TCL Trophy

Race type: Benchmark 70, 1700m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, with Diversity the only leader from barrier 12, so there's no real fight for the front. Diversity gets a clear run, but the runners drawn wide, Rick's Cafe from barrier 18 and Affaire Vue from barrier 16, have to work to get across. Autumn Slide is drawn barrier 17 and sits midfield, so it's not in the ideal spot, and my numbers have the shape against it. Bon Fete from midfield is the one the expected pace helps most, and that's a danger if the leader gets collared.
Punty read: Autumn Slide is the bet, and I'm putting the money on it at $5.50. It's the only one in the race with a strong closing sectional at 600m and a good Good-track record. The draw from 17 and the shape are a real negative, so the bet is about the horse's quality, not the map. Stung and Jenni You Think are the ones who could hit the board, but the place prices don't pay enough to back them. Diversity is the one on the lead, and if nobody comes to challenge, it's a sneaky threat.

Top 3 + Roughie ($8.50 pool)

1. Autumn Slide (No.4) — $5.50 / $2.15
Bet $8.50 Win, return $46.75
Prob 14.8% | Place: 45.1% | Value: 0.81x Steady since tip
Why Jockey Damian Lane knows his way around this track, and the horse has finished 2nd, 3rd and 5th in its recent runs. The draw is a worry but its closing sectional is the best in this field, and the market has been firming on it.
2. Stung (No.2) — $9.50 / $3.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.0% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.85x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $3.10 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Jenni You Think (No.19) — $7.50 / $2.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.7% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.58x Steady since tip
Why Bendigo 2nd last start and Ballarat 3rd before that is a nice recent run, and it's a horse that's been ticking along. It's one to watch rather than to back at this price.

Roughie: All Business (No.3) — $13.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.4% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 0.96x Steady since tip
Why Its path is a sit off a fast pace if Diversity gets a soft lead and the leader is run down by the midfield. The Pakenham Synthetic 2nd and the Caulfield 5th both suggest it can run on at the finish from back in the field.

Race 2 – Sharp EIT Subzero

Race type: Handicap, 1400m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Chakado the only leader from barrier 8, so it gets an uncontested run. Alabama Fox is drawn 13 and settles midfield, and the expected pace helps it the most in the field. Youre Not The King and Bustling are both on the speed, and the shape hurts them both, so they'll have to find a way to win from handy or get beaten by the map. Silver Dagger from barrier 14 is the back-marker who needs a fast finish.
Punty read: Alabama Fox is the bet, and it's a $13.00 Each Way because the place is the safer end of the ticket. It's won last start at Randwick-Kensington and the weight is down 6kg from its last run, so the horse looks like it's ready to go again. Youre Not The King is one of the best prices in the race at $2.45 and it's won its last two starts, but the shape is against it and the place price isn't in the bet. Bustling has a bump-and-hamper excuse last start, so it's one that could bounce back. Chakado is the danger on the lead.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Alabama Fox (No.6) — $4.00 / $1.72
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P), collects $37.18 if it wins ($26.00 win + $11.18 place), $11.18 if it only places
Prob 26.1% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.04x Steady since tip
Why Won last start at Randwick-Kensington and has a good record over this trip. Zac Lloyd rides, the weight is down, and the map helps it.
2. Youre Not The King (No.14) — $2.45 / $1.37
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.0% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.56x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Bustling (No.3) — $9.00 / $2.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.6% | Place: 37.5% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why Synthetic hoof filler comes off for the first time, and the last two runs both had a bump or interference excuse. Mark Zahra rides, and the price has been firming.

Roughie: Chakado (No.7) — $12.00 / $3.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.8% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.94x Steady since tip
Why It's the only leader in the race and it's dropping 5kg from the last start. The map does hurt it, but if the field lets it roll with no pressure, a lone leader is always dangerous.

Race 3 – Channel 9 Chester Manifold Stakes

Race type: Open, 1600m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, with Just Folk the only leader from barrier 11 and the expected pace working against it. Revelare from barrier 10 is the one who'll challenge for the front, but it's not in the top group. Buccleuch sits midfield from barrier 9 and my numbers have the shape against it, but the race is built for the back half to get into the finish. Feroce is the one the expected pace helps most from midfield, and the blinkers on for the first time are worth noticing.
Punty read: Buccleuch is the bet at $3.10 for $13.00 Win, and it's the one I trust most in this race. Six wins from twelve starts is a serious record, and the last start 7th at Flemington was a run out of the box. The price has drifted from $2.50 to $3.10, which is a bit of a warning sign, but the horse is still the class in this field. Harry's Yacht and Tavi Time have the place value but the place price isn't enough to back them. Feroce is the roughie with blinkers on for the first time, so it's one to watch.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. Buccleuch (No.13) — $3.10 / $1.50
Bet $13.00 Win, return $40.30
Prob 28.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.89x Steady since tip
Why Six wins from twelve starts and the sectionals show it finishes strongly. Billy Egan rides and the Caulfield 1st was a good run.
2. Harry's Yacht (No.6) — $9.00 / $2.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.3% | Place: 45.4% | Value: 1.11x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.80 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Tavi Time (No.4) — $8.40 / $2.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.96x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers ON for the first time and the Randwick 3rd last start, which is a good sign. The price has drifted to $8.40, so it's one to watch.

Roughie: Feroce (No.1) — $9.50 / $3.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.14x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers ON (one side only) for the first time and the Caulfield 5th excuse with bumped and hampered. It's a midfielder that the expected pace helps, and a bit of luck could get it into the money.

Race 4 – Inglis Bracelet

Race type: Open, 1600m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Sass Appeal the only leader, drawn 12 and wide. Colour Our World from barrier 4 is the one who'd challenge for the lead, but it's on the speed and not the front. Sass Appeal will get to the front without a fight, but the shape is against a leader who has to go wide to get there. Polymnia sits midfield from barrier 5 and is the second best in the race. Fireball Miss from midfield is a value chance if the leader is run down late.
Punty read: Sass Appeal is the bet at $1.75 for $11.00 Win. The price is short and the shape is awkward, but the four wins from six at Flemington and the Good record of five wins from nine are the reason I'm backing it. Polymnia is the one with the best value in the race, but the place price doesn't pay enough to back it. Fireball Miss and Bella Verona are the roughies to watch. If the favourite gets run down, there's a rush of closers who could steal it.

Top 3 + Roughie ($11.00 pool)

1. Sass Appeal (No.2) — $1.75 / $1.04
Bet $11.00 Win, return $19.25
Prob 42.1% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.74x Steady since tip
Why Four wins from six at Flemington, and a Good record that looks strong. Damian Lane rides and the market has been firming hard.
2. Polymnia (No.8) — $4.20 / $1.37
Bet Tracked
Prob 27.3% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.15x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.37 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Fireball Miss (No.1) — $7.50 / $1.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.8% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.81x Steady since tip
Why Raced wide and bumped last start at Eagle Farm, so there's a bounce-back angle. It's a midfield runner who might find room if the front gets cut up.

Roughie: Bella Verona (No.12) — $12.00 / $2.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.9% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.95x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers ON for the first time, and the first-up record of two wins from two is the best in the race. If it gets a run in the middle of the field, it can come home late.

Race 5 – Sigma Trophy

Race type: Benchmark 90, 1800m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Placo the only leader from barrier 2, and the expected pace hurts it. Gregolimo sits on the speed from barrier 12. Fiorenot is a backmarker from barrier 10, and my numbers have the shape against it, but the race is a long one and the back half are the ones who'll get into it. Nobler from barrier 14 is a closer who'll need the fast finish, and Veyepee is midfield from barrier 1.
Punty read: Fiorenot is the bet at $5.80 for $10.50 Each Way, and it's the best sectional horse in the race. The Caulfield 2nd last start and the Caulfield 1st before it show it's in form, and the record over this trip is strong. Veyepee and Nobler are the ones with value but the bets don't stack up. Sun Gift is the roughie with a closing sectional and a long price.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Fiorenot (No.7) — $5.80 / $2.15
Bet $10.50 Each Way ($5.25W + $5.25P), collects $41.74 if it wins ($30.45 win + $11.29 place), $11.29 if it only places
Prob 22.3% | Place: 52.4% | Value: 1.29x Steady since tip
Why Caulfield 2nd and 1st in its last two runs, and the closing sectionals are the fastest in the race. Jordan Childs rides and the back-half running fits.
2. Veyepee (No.12) — $6.60 / $2.25
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.9% | Place: 50.1% | Value: 1.12x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Nobler (No.6) — $9.60 / $3.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.7% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.22x Steady since tip
Why Damian Lane rides and the Rosehill 2nd last start is a solid run. It's a closer that needs the early speed to fall over.

Roughie: Sun Gift (No.15) — $17.00 / $4.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.4% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.92x Steady since tip
Why Two 2nd-place finishes in the Cranbourne and Flemington runs and the closing sectional is good. It's a horse that could run down a slow pace from midfield.

Race 6 – Cirka Melbourne Cup Carnival Country Final

Race type: Benchmark 80, 1600m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Hedjet the only leader from barrier 14, and the expected pace works against it. Surfy Pete and Hiyaam Proud are on the speed and the expected pace helps both. Wetumpka sits midfield from barrier 18, and Rosa Aotearoa is on the speed from barrier 7. The back half from barrier 15 to barrier 20 has to work hard to cross.
Punty read: This race has no bets because the market has no clear value. Wetumpka is rank one at $8.40, but the roughie guard applies, so it's a no-bet. Rosa Aotearoa and Our Justify are the picks with the best chance, but the place prices don't pay enough to back them. Lofty Thoughts is the roughie with the best value on the day.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Wetumpka (No.14) — $8.40 / $2.75
Bet $15.00 Each Way ($7.50W + $7.50P), collects $83.63 if it wins ($63.00 win + $20.63 place), $20.63 if it only places
Prob 11.7% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.98x Steady since tip
Why Visors ON for the first time and the Sale 2nd last start is a good sign. The price has been backed in from $14.00 to $8.40.
2. Rosa Aotearoa (No.5) — $8.00 / $2.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.1% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.89x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Our Justify (No.13) — $7.00 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.9% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.69x Steady since tip
Why Bendigo 1st last start and the 1st before that. The weight is down 4kg from the last start, so it's a handy pick if the race sets up nicely.

Roughie: Lofty Thoughts (No.8) — $11.00 / $3.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.5% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.93x Steady since tip
Why Seymour 1st and Sale 1st in its last runs, and the weight is down 2kg from the last start. It sits midfield and needs the pace to be fair.

Race 7 – Crown Red Roses Stakes

Race type: Open, 1100m
Map & tempo: Hot pace with three leaders in Scintillation from barrier 2, Semantics from barrier 9 and Determined Rose from barrier 12. That's a genuine fight for the front in a sprint, and the expected pace hurts all three. Handee from midfield is the one the expected pace helps most. Sequinned sits midfield from barrier 10, and the shape helps it.
Punty read: Sequinned is the bet at $1.84 for $15.00 Win. The record over this trip is solid with three wins from six, and the race shape is in its favour. Scintillation is the one with the best value and the place is a real chance if the leaders go too hard. Lady Catalina has the best value in the race but the place price is small. Semantics is the roughie with a long price in a race where the leaders may be run down.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Sequinned (No.3) — $1.90 / $1.15
Bet $15.00 Win, return $28.50
Prob 25.7% | Place: 61.5% | Value: 0.49x Steady since tip
Why Caulfield 1st last start and a strong sprint record. James McDonald rides, and the market has been backing it in.
2. Scintillation (No.2) — $6.40 / $2.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.17x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.10 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Lady Catalina (No.5) — $15.00 / $3.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.0% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.65x Steady since tip
Why Cranbourne 2nd last start and the closing form is improving. Blake Shinn rides and the price is generous.

Roughie: Semantics (No.6) — $14.00 / $3.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.5% | Place: 29.1% | Value: 1.05x Steady since tip
Why Cross-over nose band ON for the first time and the Bendigo 1st last start. It's a leader from barrier 9 and if the pace collapses it can get the money.

Race 8 – Crown Oaks

Race type: Open, 2500m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Quick Finish the only leader from barrier 5, and it gets an uncontested run. Icelady sits on the speed from barrier 4, and the shape helps it most. Proxima Dea is drawn 19, wide, and sits midfield, but the shape helps it. Almost every other runner is a backmarker from a wide draw, so the closers have to be sharp.
Punty read: Proxima Dea is the bet at $2.56 for $7.50 Win. It's five from five in its career, and the Randwick 1st and the Rosehill 1st are the best recent runs. Zac Lloyd rides and the 2000m trip is in its favour. De Armas is the one with the most value but the place price isn't enough to back it. Icelady is the one who can get the lead if Quick Finish gets rolled, and Quick Finish is the roughie.

Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)

1. Proxima Dea (No.1) — $2.56 / $1.30
Bet $7.50 Win, return $19.20
Prob 39.1% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.00x Steady since tip
Why Five wins from five and the Good record is perfect. Zac Lloyd rides, the map helps it, and the wide draw is the only worry.
2. De Armas (No.4) — $3.15 / $1.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.9% | Place: 61.5% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.50 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Icelady (No.2) — $9.20 / $2.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.5% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.87x Steady since tip
Why Flemington 3rd last start over 2000m and the Caulfield 2nd before that. Ethan Brown rides and the shape helps it.

Roughie: Quick Finish (No.3) — $15.50 / $3.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.1% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 0.78x Steady since tip
Why Caulfield 2000m 1st and Caulfield 1800m 1st show it can handle the trip. It's the only leader and if nobody wants the front, it can get a run.

Race 9 – G.H.Mumm Century Stakes

Race type: Open, 1000m
Map & tempo: Hot pace with four leaders in Bev's Nine from barrier 7, Cavalry Girl from barrier 12, Marble Nine from barrier 11 and Don't Hope Do from barrier 6. That's a real speed battle over 1000m, and the expected pace hurts the leaders. Philosopher and Perilous Fighter are the ones the expected pace helps most from midfield. Cavalry Girl is drawn wide and my numbers have the shape against it, but the class and closing sectionals keep it in the race.
Punty read: Cavalry Girl is the bet at $2.25 for $15.00 Win. It's won its last run at Caulfield and the record at this trip is seven wins from fifteen. Craig Williams rides and the closing sectionals are the fastest in the race. Bev's Nine has the best value from barrier 7, but the place price isn't enough to back it. Rey Magnerio is the one who can run on from midfield. Don't Hope Do is the roughie, and if the leaders cook each other it can get the spot.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Cavalry Girl (No.4) — $2.25 / $1.25
Bet $15.00 Win, return $33.75
Prob 28.6% | Place: 61.5% | Value: 0.64x Steady since tip
Why Seven wins from fifteen at this trip, with the fastest sectionals in the field. Craig Williams rides and the Caulfield 1st last start is the best recent form.
2. Bev's Nine (No.3) — $5.50 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.31x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.85 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Rey Magnerio (No.1) — $4.80 / $1.82
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.1% | Place: 46.6% | Value: 0.72x Steady since tip
Why Flemington 4th last start and the Caulfield 2nd before it. William Pike rides and the sectionals are solid.

Roughie: Don't Hope Do (No.8) — $16.00 / $3.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.7% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.39x Steady since tip
Why Caulfield 2nd last start over 1000m and the Caulfield 5th before it. It's a leader in a Hot pace race, so if the other three go too hard, it's a sneaky runner.

SEQUENCE LANES

EARLY QUADDIE (R2–R5)

Smart: 6,14,3 / 13,4,1,6 / 2,8 / 7,12,6 (72 combos x $0.3472 = $25.00) -- 34.7% flexi
Punty's take: Race 4 is tight on Sass Appeal and Race 3 is tight on Buccleuch, while Race 5 is wide open and carries most of the risk. The flexi floor is 30% and this ticket sits at 34.7%, so it's a solid play if the first two races come in.

QUADDIE (R6–R9)

Smart: 14,13,5,8 / 3,2,5 / 1,4 / 4,1,3 (72 combos x $0.3472 = $25.00) -- 34.7% flexi
Punty's take: Race 8 is tight on Proxima Dea and De Armas, while Races 6 and 7 are open and carry the chaos. The flexi floor is 30% and this ticket sits at 34.7%, so it's a solid play with a $5 to $10 winner needed somewhere to pay well.

BIG 6 (R4–R9)

Smart: 2,8,1,12 / 7,12,6,15 / 14,13,5,8 / 3,2,5,6 / 1,4,2,3 / 4,1,3,8 (4096 combos x $0.00122 = $5.00) -- 0.12% flexi
Punty's take: Six legs with four of them wide open, so this is an entertainment-only ticket. The flexi floor for the Big 6 is 0.10% and this one sits at 0.13%, so take it as a lottery ticket and keep the outlay small.

NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK

1 - Bella Verona goes blinkers on for the first time
Blinkers ON (first time) for Bella Verona in Race 4, and its first-up record is 2:2-0-0. That's a nice bit of gear and first-up form to watch.
2 - Landmark's market has been jumping
Landmark opened at $61.00 and is now $26.00 [HEAVY] in Race 9, with blinkers OFF (first time) and a first-up record of 4:1-1-1. The money is coming for a reason, so keep it on the radar.
3 - Mistressofillusion is the Bunnings trip of the card
At $201.00 in Race 2, Mistressofillusion has blinkers OFF (first time), cross-over nose band ON (first time), lugging bit OFF (first time), tongue control and lugging bit ON (first time), and winkers ON (again). That's more gear changes than a DIY weekend, and I'm not touching it.

FINAL WORD FROM THE SICKO SANCTUARY

The Flemington track is in good nick, the rain's on the radar and the sprints are going to be chaos. Keep the stakes tight, read the map and back the horses you'd be happy to lose on a Saturday arvo.
