✓ WON +$11 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1175m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, with ON-PACE types doing the heavy lifting and the big danger being wide trips in Soft 5
Punty read: Regor is drawn barrier 1 and maps onto the speed, this is exactly how you want to approach a Shorter maiden chance at a wet-tilted provincial track. He's had excuses, interference, and racing wide, so if he gets clear early, the race turns into a grind-you-down affair. Spy Trader is the "don't dismiss the backmarker" play, he can work into it late if the front bunch stumbles. Jenni Moo Moo is the sort that can get a run through gaps, then suddenly be there on the line.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

★ PUNTY'S PICK 1. Regor (No.1) — $1.72 / $1.07 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$10.80
Prob 40.2% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.40x
Why Barrier 1, stays on the speed map, and his excuses explain his lesser runs. Soft 5 rewards the horse who can still roll forward.

2. Spy Trader (No.2) — $4.20 / $1.45 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 25.0% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.51x
Why A real chance — but at $1.45 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Jenni Moo Moo (No.9) — $5.50 / $1.70 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.59x
Why Might sneak a place, but I want value on the win or something fitter for the top end.

Roughie: Humbug Girl (No.8) — $23.00 / $3.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.2% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 1.40x
Why Wide-ish route in Soft 5, but if the leaders tire or get stuck, she's the one who can swoop for a place, maybe more.

✗ MISS -$10 Final

Race type: Class 1, 1400m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace, leaders pressing, midfield horses need tempo help
Punty read: This is a proper tempo watch. Siyaasi is the one to trust for positioning on the speed map, and he's the type who can survive a pressure race on Soft 5. Noir Vitesse is the danger, he's been around the mark and his place chances scream "don't leave me out" in a genuine-run race. Iconic Rose is the swing at the back of the leaders, she's the one who can come with a wet-track late lunge if they go hard enough early.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Siyaasi (No.1) — $2.45 / $1.17 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet $10.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$10.50
Prob 27.9% | Place: 63.3% | Value: 0.85x
Why Speed map ally, and his run style matches a hot 1400 on a rain-lean track. He should get every chance to stick around.

2. Noir Vitesse (No.2) — $3.30 / $1.45 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 26.8% | Place: 62.5% | Value: 1.09x
Why A real chance — but at $1.45 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Iconic Rose (No.6) — $4.50 / $1.62 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 17.5% | Place: 46.7% | Value: 0.96x
Why She can fill a spot, but the win path is less clean than the top call.

Roughie: Cosmic Grace (No.3) — $6.50 / $2.05 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.0% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.93x
Why Wide or awkward run means she needs tempo and luck. If the leaders wobble, she can pick up pieces.

✗ MISS -$10 Final

Race type: Maiden, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, mid-race positioning matters, chaos can win late
Punty read: This is the "who handles the Soft 5 grind better" maiden. Duke Of Zhou and Victrix Swan look like they're built to keep coming, while Surreal Retirement has the kind of class-ish profile that can pop up and steal a finish. Victrix Swan is the value story, she's got the gear tweaks and the right run shape to be in the fight late.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.00 pool)

1. Duke Of Zhou (No.6) — $5.00 / $2.00 🏆 7TH
Bet $10.00 Each Way ($5.00W + $5.00P) — ✗ Lost, net -$10.00
Prob 15.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.52x
Why He's got the map to be involved, and if the race stays moderate, he can grab a slice.

2. Victrix Swan (No.14) — $6.50 / $2.40 🏆 9TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.24x
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.

3. Surreal Retirement (No.13) — $4.80 / $1.95 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.83x
Why Solid place type, but I'm not pushing for a straight win claim here.

Roughie: Bennelong Time (No.2) — $9.20 / $2.80 🏆 6TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.8% | Place: 35.9% | Value: 1.09x
Why Needs the lane late, but if they go too hard and burn out, he can gather late.

✗ MISS -$15 Final

Race type: Maiden, 900m
Map & tempo: Sprint speed duel with ON-PACE types, rail True, so expect congestion risks
Punty read: Ordinary Star is the obvious speed-and-survive call. Short course at Soft 5 turns into a grind where the first 200m matters more than the last 200m, and she's built to stay in that first slice. Snitzel Tycoon is the rival with the same style, fast early and still there when they straighten. No Ordinary Show could be the one to pinch it if there's crowding and someone finds a gap.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Ordinary Star (No.11) — $2.60 / $1.32 🏆 4TH
Bet $15.00 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$15.00
Prob 32.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.07x
Why She's drawn to run her race, the sprint map stacks for her, and Soft 5 still rewards early position.

2. Snitzel Tycoon (No.14) — $2.70 / $1.37 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 30.0% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.60x
Why A real chance — but at $1.37 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. No Ordinary Show (No.13) — $8.00 / $2.55 🏆 3RD
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 48.4% | Value: 1.95x
Why Looks like a real threat, but the win value line isn't clean enough to go deeper.

Roughie: Crying Cricket (No.4) — $10.00 / $2.80 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.2% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.45x
Why She's got the "if they crowd" path. Short races on wet tracks make weird results feel normal.

✗ MISS -$12 Final

Race type: Class 3, 1175m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, midfield gets chances if the leaders don't walk it
Punty read: This is a classy 1175 where you want to be around the flow, not floating too far back. Coco De Luxe is the market kind of standout, but Amanoah is the value play who might get a run along the rails, then keep grinding. Dolly has the consistency and can lift in Soft 5 if she finds room. If you want a rougher, Bifurcation is one who can be there late if the tempo holds together.

Top 3 + Roughie ($12.50 pool)

1. Coco De Luxe (No.2) — $2.85 / $1.45 🏆 3RD
Bet $12.50 Win — ✗ Lost, net -$12.50
Prob 25.2% | Place: 59.7% | Value: 0.90x
Why Proven in this sort of setup, and she maps close enough to use Soft 5 without getting stuck.

2. Amanoah (No.6) — $8.50 / $2.40 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.3% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.72x
Why A real chance — but at $2.40 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Dolly (No.3) — $9.50 / $2.80 🏆 WINNER
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.0% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.52x
Why Place chance is real, win feels better covered by Coco De Luxe's onside run.

Roughie: Bifurcation (No.5) — $10.00 / $2.80 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.9% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.10x
Why Needs a tempo-friendly run, if the leaders keep it honest, she can hit the line hard.

✓ WON +$15 Final

Race type: Benchmark 66, 1600m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, better horses can make late ground, but don't get too far back
Punty read: Chief Of War is the cleanest story for the mile, he's got the ability to sit close enough and still have something for the last 200m. Fair Master is the live threat, he's the sort that can wear them down when the track is chewing up tired legs. Snap Decision is the overlooked danger, he's got the finishing gears and can work into the placings if the tempo strings out.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Chief Of War (No.4) — $2.40 / $1.25 🏆 WINNER
Bet $10.50 Win — ✓ Won, net +$14.70
Prob 30.2% | Place: 61.5% | Value: 0.92x
Why Mile fit and a run shape that suits Benchmark 66. He looks like the one who gets the fight in the straight.

2. Fair Master (No.6) — $6.00 / $2.10 🏆 2ND
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.5% | Place: 52.8% | Value: 1.43x
Why A real chance — but at $2.10 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

3. Kokonda (No.5) — $7.50 / $2.25 🏆 9TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.30x
Why He can run a cheeky race, but the main win path is tighter for Chief Of War.

Roughie: Super Paradise (No.3) — $9.50 / $2.75 🏆 7TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.6% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.13x

✓ WON +$24 Final

Race type: Benchmark 58, 900m
Map & tempo: Hot pace, speed maps dominate, but Soft 5 makes the last split brutal
Punty read: This is a sprint chaos kettle. The Shyster at $1.52 is the speed engine, he's the one who wants to get rolling and force the field into mistakes. Mer Char looks like the main value opponent, if the favourite has to do too much early, she can pounce. Winter Hail is also there to ruin plans, he's the right kind of grinder who can keep finding the line when the front bunch gets tired.

Top 3 + Roughie ($20.00 pool)

1. The Shyster (No.6) — $1.90 / $1.22 🏆 WINNER
Bet $15.00 Win — ✓ Won, net +$13.50
Prob 21.3% | Place: 53.5% | Value: 0.50x
Why Short race, hot pace, and the run shape is where he wins. On a day like this, you just need him to be within himself.

2. Mer Char (No.1) — $11.00 / $3.10 🏆 3RD
Bet $5.00 Place — ✓ Won, net +$10.50
Prob 12.4% | Place: 43.6% | Value: 1.74x
Why She's got the value if the favourite cracks, but we're not paying for two hopes.

3. Winter Hail (No.4) — $11.00 / $3.10 🏆 4TH
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.3% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 1.68x
Why Big finish potential, but she needs a particular pace setup to land the big prize.

Roughie: Calais Bliss (No.2) — $9.50 / $3.00 🏆 UNPLACED
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.7% | Place: 34.6% | Value: 1.74x
Why If the sprint turns into a battlefield and she finds room, she can grab a top three spot. She's the "if it falls your way" pick.

Punty's Early Mail

Rightio Loose Units, Albury on a Soft 5 where every sprint is a slog, every run is slippery, and the tote can turn into a liar in under a furlong. Today I want pace onside early, cover your bases late, and I want my big pins drawn from the races that actually look like they'll sort themselves out.

Track's rail True, weather's playing dress-up with showers, and the rain risk is real enough to make you double-check your nerves. Soft 5 means you want horses who can handle kickback and keep grinding, especially those on the speed map. The tempo looks like it changes race to race, so don't fall in love with one story, back the one that fits the map.

My spine for the meeting is simple, three likely winners, then lanes for the chaos merchants who refuse to go home early.

MEET SNAPSHOT

Track: Soft 5, 1175m-1600m card
Rail: True
Official going: Soft 5 (expected to play speed plus grind)
Weather: Possible afternoon shower, 20°C, humidity 58%, wind 25km/h, gusts 33.3km/h (watch for rain risk and wet bursts)
Early lane guess: Banker-ish starts, then Quaddie legs get loose (R4 to R7)
Tempo profile: Spot the speed maps, Soft 5 keeps everyone honest, but front timers still cash
Jockeys to follow:
Brodie Loy: gets plenty of looks today, and he rides like he wants the job done
Pierre Boudvillain: persistent in the set, he can turn a race with the right timing
Blaike Mc Dougall: sharp with the opportunities, especially when the market gets involved
Stables to respect:
Shilleagh Meyervale (5 runners): keeps them ready and often improves them into the day
Michael Travers (5 runners): has the kind of strike you chase on days like this
C D Widdison (4 runners): tends to have one more for the finish, even when it looks unlikely

Punty's take:

This track suits horses that can keep their feet in the mud and still run through the line. On Soft 5, the "pretty" sectionals go out the window and the stay-together runs win, especially when the pace is genuine. If you're off the speed too far, you're relying on luck and good fortune to hand you a lane. I'm backing races where the speed map gives you a fair crack at the front.

Race 1 is a classic "favourite for a reason" type maiden chance, Regor looks like the one who can just do the basics and land the blow. Race 2 is a tempo race, and Siyaasi and Noir Vitesse are built for it, with Iconic Rose lurking off their backs. Race 3 is where it gets spicy, maiden plate chaos, and the standout value is Victrix Swan, she looks like she's been aimed at a moment.

What it means for you:

Your aggression should be front-loaded in the first half of the card. If you're only going to press the button once or twice, do it where I've got the cleanest map and market alignment. Then for the Quaddie lanes (R4 to R7), you cover the open legs, because that's where Soft 5 and maiden unpredictability love to mug you.

I'd be playing it like this, Win or Place where the race story is clear, then widen when the field goes full chaos. The quaddie is entertainment if you don't respect the legs where the map gets messy, so that's why my lanes are shaped properly, not just "hope and vibes".
