Punty's Early Mail
For all of Punty's tips for Mornington, head to https://punty.ai/tips/mornington-2026-11-01
Rightio Ratbags, nine races, 105 runners and a Good 4 track that's had 68.4mm in the last week, so the country is still soft enough to make a fool of anyone who doesn't read the card. Speed is thin on the first two races, the middle of the day is where the chaos lives, and the back end of the card has a couple of stables with genuine form. Let's get into it before the rain shows up again.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Mornington, 1000m to 2400m card
Rail: True Entire Circuit
Official going: Good 4 (1.4mm rain last 24 hours, 68.4mm last 7 days)
Weather: Showers. Live conditions show 1mm rain since 9am, 1mm in the last hour, gusts 25.9km/h. Rain risk 55%+ at 05:00, 08:00, 11:00 and 14:00.
Early lane guess: unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Mostly slow to moderate. Race 1 and Race 7 and Race 8 are Slow Pace, Races 2, 3, 4, 6 and 9 are Moderate, and Race 5 is the only Genuine Pace race with Ilovediamonds the only leader on the map.
Jockeys to follow:
Lachlan Neindorf: 7 rides today, including Royal Tea in Race 4, Lonnegan in Race 3 and Sixty Grand in Race 8, plus Miss Cotoletta in Race 5. Big book of rides, and the market has already been sniffing around Miss Cotoletta.
Jamie Mott: 6 rides, Master Of The Air in Race 9 and Wonder Boy in Race 6, and a 12.9% strike rate at this track (1181/9150) on the card's data.
Damian Lane: 2 rides, both of them in the top end of the card. He's on Oceans Blue in Race 2, our $1.65 pick, and Star Je Taime in Race 1, with a 16.2% strike rate at this track (1237/7627).
Stables to respect:
Jason Warren (5 runners): Five of them on the card, including Octane Reign (Race 8 roughie candidate), Stole Him and Churchill Lane in Race 7, and Miss Cotoletta in Race 5. Numbers that matter.
D T O'Brien (4 runners): Oceans Blue in Race 2 and Star Je Taime in Race 1, both among the market's most respected prices, plus Crown Of Russia in Race 7 and Sun Devil in Race 9.
Ben, Will & Jd Hayes (4 runners): Reset The Jazz in Race 6, He's A Dandy in Race 3, Immortal Truth in Race 4 and Flare Of Grace in Race 2, with Reset The Jazz the one with the most stable form.
Punty's take: The speed on this card is thin in the early races and it's spread out in the middle, which is the whole story. Race 1 has no one on the map to lead outright, so it'll be a slow tempo and the horses that can sit handy will be happy with that. Adakite is the one I trust in that race because he's been running second and close all preparation and the shape doesn't hurt him. Race 2 is the same deal with Oceans Blue sitting handy from barrier 7, and I'm not going to pretend the price is generous. Race 4 is the chaos race of the first half, 14 runners in an open-looking maiden field where the speed is shared out between a dozen horses. Race 5 is the only Genuine Pace race on the card, and Ilovediamonds will get an uncontested lead from barrier 8 if he wants it. Race 6 is the best race for the punter who likes a clean tempo read, with Lim's Saltoro and Reset The Jazz duelling for the front. Race 7 and Race 8 are both Slow Pace staying-type races where the back-half horses get the most tempo advantage and the field gets compressed in the final straight. Race 9 is an 1200m moderate pace sprint with six runners that could be near the speed, which makes the box in that race a headache.
What it means for you: Be aggressive in Races 1 and 2 because the favourites have clear reasons to be there, but don't go mad on the prices. Protect your bank in Races 4 and 7, which are the two races where the field is wide open, and where I've kept my powder dry. Race 6 and Race 9 are where I'd want the most conviction, one with a clear lead battle and the other with a horse that's won first-up at a high clip. Value sits with the horses coming from midfield in the slow races, not the ones who need the front in a crowd. The locked bets are the spine of the day, so if you're stacking tickets, build around Adakite, Oceans Blue and Lim's Saltoro first and everything else second.
PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI
These are the three bets the day leans on.
1 - Adakite (Race 1, No.5) — $1.80
Why Blinkers come off and visors go on first time, and he's run second in his last two starts including a 2nd at Bendigo 1600m last start, beaten 0.8L, from a 5th at Bendigo 1300m that was marred by being bumped.
2 - Oceans Blue (Race 2, No.9) — $1.65
Why Sits handy from barrier 7 in a moderate pace race that suits him, and he's the most likely winner on the card with the shape working in his favour.
3 - Lim's Saltoro (Race 6, No.1) — $2.90
Why Leads from barrier 3 with Reset The Jazz the only real challenger for the front, and he's 8 wins from 15 on good with a tongue tie going on first time.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × 8.61 = $86.10
Race 1 – Peninsula Kubota Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow pace on paper, and nobody in the field maps to lead, though Kuheylan from barrier 11 is the likeliest to find the front and he has to work wide to get there. Flying Riches and Ambition In Bloom come from barrier 8 and 9, so they need cover or luck from the back. Adakite settles midfield from barrier 1, and the shape is neutral for him, which means the speed in the race doesn't do him any favours but doesn't hurt either.
Punty read: Adakite is the bet, $13.00 on the win at $1.80. He's the one with the best sectional credentials in the race, with fastest time on the data and the top closing sectionals, and he's a 2nd and a 5th in his last two runs at Bendigo. Star Je Taime is the danger from back of the field at $3.20, a backmarker in a slow race who needs the speed to collapse. Ambition In Bloom is one to watch from the back if the pace is genuinely weak.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Adakite (No.5) — $1.80 / $1.08
Bet $13.00 Win, return $23.40
Prob 39.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.71x Steady since tip
Why Second-up and close enough every run, with a 2nd at Bendigo 1600m his last start and blinkers off first time. Jye McNeil on a strong 11.3% track strike rate.
2. Star Je Taime (No.11) — $3.20 / $1.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 25.8% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.83x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.30 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Ambition In Bloom (No.6) — $7.00 / $1.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.87x Steady since tip
Why Last start 4th at Kilmore 1457m, beaten with interference, and the trainer's T-HOT line is running at a 18.0% strike rate over the last 100 starts.
Roughie: Pandie Pandie (No.10) — $23.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.7% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 1.07x Steady since tip
Why If the slow pace stays slow and the leaders stop to a crawl, a back-marker with a 9th at Ballarat 1400m followed by the sectional runs in the data could get the run of his life.
Race 2 – Barmah Park Restaurant & Cellar Door Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with no one clearly on the speed, so the front is shared around Cirque De Coco from barrier 13, Neonova from barrier 4, Oceans Blue from barrier 7 and Storm Bella from barrier 10. Cirque De Coco and Storm Bella both have to work wide to get across. Oceans Blue sits handy from barrier 7, and the shape helps him.
Punty read: Oceans Blue is the bet, $15.00 on the win at $1.65. He ran a 2nd at Kyneton 1103m last start, sits handy from a good draw and the moderate pace suits him. Cirque De Coco is the danger from the wide draw at $4.50, while Flare Of Grace has a stack of first-time gear and enough class in the trainer to be respected at $5.00.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Oceans Blue (No.9) — $1.70 / $1.07
Bet $15.00 Win, return $25.50
Prob 43.6% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.74x Steady since tip
Why Sits handy from barrier 7 with a moderate tempo doing him favours, and the last start was a 2nd at Kyneton 1103m, beaten 1L.
2. Cirque De Coco (No.4) — $4.60 / $1.57
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.1% | Place: 55.4% | Value: 0.88x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.57 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Flare Of Grace (No.5) — $5.00 / $1.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.5% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.72x Steady since tip
Why Ear muffs, lugging bit, tongue tie and winkers all go on first time, which is a lot of gear for a debut-type runner. Ben, Will & Jd Hayes are on a 24.0% T-HOT run.
Roughie: Storm Bella (No.14) — $23.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.9% | Place: 17.8% | Value: 0.67x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers go on first time, and a 4th at Kilmore 1207m was not a bad run. If Oceans Blue is caught wide or the speed gets mixed up, Storm Bella can run into the finish from the wide draw.
Race 3 – McLeod Trees Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, and the likely front runners are Big Kapow from barrier 10, Weasel Sea from barrier 14 and Lavancher from barrier 3, all of whom sit handy rather than lead outright. Duke Of Oman is the one the shape suits, and Lonnegan from barrier 15 is the back-marker who needs the pace to collapse.
Punty read: Big Kapow is the bet, $15.00 each way at $4.00. He ran a 4th at Sale 1200m last start, and the sectionals were the fastest on the data. The danger is Life's Uncertainty, who has no racing record in the data and is backed in from $4.40 to $2.85, plus Lonnegan who is the most respected of the back-markers and has been heavily backed too.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Big Kapow (No.1) — $4.00 / $1.65
Bet $15.00 Each Way ($7.50W + $7.50P), collects $42.38 if it wins ($30.00 win + $12.38 place), $12.38 if it only places
Prob 24.5% | Place: 47.1% | Value: 0.98x Steady since tip
Why Sits handy from barrier 10 and the shape helps him slightly. Last start 4th at Sale 1200m in a 12 field, with the sectional rankings near the top, and Jake Noonan on the ride.
2. Life's Uncertainty (No.7) — $2.85 / $1.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 22.1% | Place: 53.7% | Value: 0.63x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Lonnegan (No.8) — $7.00 / $2.45
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.7% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.89x Steady since tip
Why He's a back-marker in a moderate race, which is against him, but the Echuca 1000m 3rd last start was a bold run from the back and the money has come in from $9.00 to $7.00.
Roughie: Lavancher (No.6) — $9.00 / $2.70
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.7% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.78x Steady since tip
Why Sits handy from barrier 3 with Tongue tie on first time, and if the leaders go too hard he can sit on the speed in a race that's mostly moderate.
Race 4 – Quayclean Mdn Plate
Race type: Maiden, 1000m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace, and the lead is shared by a huge group, with Congress Of Vienna from barrier 10, Rockbourg from barrier 1 and Exclusive Punt from barrier 5 all in the mix. Sealand and Pragmatic Lady come from wide draws and have to work to cross. Exclusive Punt gets the shape that suits forward runners in this race.
Punty read: Royal Tea is the bet, $15.00 on the win at $2.55. Expect Lachlan Neindorf to be sharp here and the trainer is on a 27.0% T-HOT run over the last 100 starts. Sealand is the danger from barrier 12, a 9th at Ballarat 1200m last start with a wide run excused. Rockbourg is the one to watch at $6.50 but is 649 days off the track.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Royal Tea (No.11) — $2.55 / $1.40
Bet $15.00 Win, return $38.25
Prob 23.0% | Place: 54.2% | Value: 0.59x Steady since tip
Why Alexander Rae's stable has been hot with 27.0% T-HOT strike rate and Lachlan Neindorf is on a 40% combo strike rate with the trainer. No speed map position to claim for him.
2. Sealand (No.5) — $4.40 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.81x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.85 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Rockbourg (No.4) — $6.50 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.2% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why He ran 3rd at Albury 1175m last time he raced, but 649 days off is the big question mark, even if the first-up record is 1:0-0-1.
Roughie: Exclusive Punt (No.9) — $10.00 / $3.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.7% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.87x Steady since tip
Why Handy from barrier 5 in a moderate pace, which is exactly the kind of run the shape rewards, and he ran 4th at Mornington 1000m last start.
Race 5 – Evergreen Turf (Bm62)
Race type: Handicap, 1000m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Ilovediamonds the only leader from barrier 8, and nearest pressure from Miss Cotoletta, Pocket Size and Pure Silk. Pocket Size and Simply Steffi are the ones the shape helps most, and Invincible Lover settles midfield from barrier 4, with the shape neutral.
Punty read: Invincible Lover is the bet, $10.50 each way at $3.10. Invincible Lover has 6 career starts with 1 win, 3 seconds and 1 third, and the good-track record reads 5 starts, 0 wins, 3 seconds, 1 third. Miss Cotoletta at $3.00 is the danger with 3 wins from 17 and a tongue tie on first time. Pure Silk is the roughie to watch from the wide draw.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Invincible Lover (No.5) — $3.10 / $1.35
Bet $10.50 Each Way ($5.25W + $5.25P), collects $23.37 if it wins ($16.28 win + $7.09 place), $7.09 if it only places
Prob 25.9% | Place: 63.4% | Value: 0.80x Steady since tip
Why Midfield from barrier 4 with a sit behind the speed. Jamie Melham on a 17.9% track strike rate, and the price has firmed from $3.60 to $3.10.
2. Miss Cotoletta (No.1) — $3.20 / $1.30
Bet Tracked
Prob 21.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Ilovediamonds (No.3) — $6.00 / $1.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.4% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.80x Steady since tip
Why The only leader on the map from barrier 8 in a genuine pace race and a Mornington 1000m winner last start, though the field may run him down.
Roughie: Pure Silk (No.7) — $14.00 / $3.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.6% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 1.07x Steady since tip
Why Barrier blanket and blindfold both come off first time, and the weight record shows 1 win from 2 at 56-57kg, so the lighter weight is the key to his chance.
Race 6 – Sportsbet Peninsula Cup
Race type: Open, 1600m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with a contested lead between Lim's Saltoro from barrier 3 and Reset The Jazz from barrier 4. Wonder Boy and Aztec Ruler both come from wide draws and need cover. Presser is midfield and the shape helps him, and Wonder Boy is the one the shape works against.
Punty read: Lim's Saltoro is the bet, $11.50 on the win at $2.90. He's 8 wins from 15 on good and has a tongue tie going on first time, and Craig Newitt is aboard. Reset The Jazz is the danger with the front as his property and a 24.0% T-HOT strike rate. Wonder Boy at $3.80 has the closing sectionals on the data.
Top 3 + Roughie ($11.50 pool)
1. Lim's Saltoro (No.1) — $2.90 / $1.60
Bet $11.50 Win, return $33.35
Prob 27.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.78x Steady since tip
Why Leads from barrier 3 in a race with a contested front, and his Seymour 1600m 3rd last start came just 1.1L off the winner.
2. Wonder Boy (No.2) — $3.80 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.87x Steady since tip
Why Only two places paid in a field this size, and skinny place divvies make savers a mug's game — this is a win-only race. Tracked, not staked.
3. Presser (No.5) — $4.50 / $2.15
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.8% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.89x Steady since tip
Why Midfield in a moderate race where the shape helps, and the sectionals are ranked second on the data, but 0 wins from 7 at 58-60kg is the warning sign.
Roughie: Charterhouse (No.4) — $20.00 / $4.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 2.4% | Place: 5.8% | Value: 0.48x Steady since tip
Why Tongue tie goes on first time and a 14th at Caulfield 1600m came with a medical or physical excuse, so if he bounces back to something like his 6 wins from 51 it'd be a shock.
Race 7 – Catanach's Jewellers (Bm62)
Race type: Handicap, 2400m
Map & tempo: Slow pace with Eye For An Eye from barrier 6 the likeliest to find the front, and everyone else looking to settle out the back. Hawk Power and Power Pivot are the back-markers the shape suits, while Churchill Lane, Crown Of Russia and Jonquil come from wide draws and need cover.
Punty read: No bets in this one, and I'm not inventing a pick for the sake of it. Eye For An Eye is the rank-one pick from a stable with a 13.0% T@trk strike rate, but the market's already priced him at $8.00. Power Pivot has 3 seconds from 13 starts and a clear distance record, and that's the one I'd keep an eye on if the slow tempo sets up for a closer. Stole Him is the roughie with a 2nd at Moe 2050m last start.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Eye For An Eye (No.1) — $8.00 / $2.60
Bet $15.00 Each Way ($7.50W + $7.50P), collects $79.50 if it wins ($60.00 win + $19.50 place), $19.50 if it only places
Prob 15.1% | Place: 45.8% | Value: 1.21x Steady since tip
Why 6 wins from 26 starts and the only real pace in a Slow Pace staying race, but the market's already shortened him from $12.00.
2. Power Pivot (No.9) — $4.80 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.2% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Crown Of Russia (No.7) — $5.50 / $2.05
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.7% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.75x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers come off first time, and he's run 2nd at Tatura 1600m and 7th at Kyneton 1887m, so the form shows he can be close in a staying race, but the 0 wins from 4 at 62kg weight is a worry.
Roughie: Stole Him (No.10) — $9.50 / $2.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.3% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.89x Steady since tip
Why Midfield where the shape helps, a 2nd at Moe 2050m last start, and Lachlan King is on a 12.0% J-HOT run.
Race 8 – Louvretec Melbourne (Bm66)
Race type: Handicap, 2000m
Map & tempo: Slow pace with Octane Reign from barrier 2 the only horse clearly likely to find the front. Port Philip, Foix and Mickidabeel are the ones the shape suits, while Best Time from barrier 11 and Notre Citrouille from barrier 12 are the back-markers who need the pace to collapse. Sixty Grand from barrier 10 is midfield with the shape helping slightly.
Punty read: Sixty Grand is the bet, $5.00 on the win at $5.00. He won his last start at Morphettville 2028m and has a 15.7% T@trk strike rate, and the form lines up on this 2000m trip. Ardashir from barrier 9 is the danger, while Best Time is the back-marker who needs the slow pace to end in a sprint. Octane Reign is the roughie at $9.50 and the only real speed.
Top 3 + Roughie ($5.00 pool)
1. Sixty Grand (No.8) — $5.00 / $2.00
Bet $5.00 Win, return $25.00
Prob 17.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why Won his last start at Morphettville 2028m and has 2 wins from 6 with the 2nd-up record 2:1-1-0. Lachlan Neindorf on a 17.6% combo strike rate with the trainer.
2. Ardashir (No.5) — $6.50 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 44.3% | Value: 0.90x Steady since tip

3. Best Time (No.1) — $5.00 / $2.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.6% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why Back-marker in a slow race, which is against him, but he won at Caulfield Heath 1800m in his last runs and his two most recent runs were both hampered, so the form isn't as bad as the finishes suggest.
Roughie: Octane Reign (No.3) — $9.50 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.4% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 0.61x Steady since tip
Why The only horse the data has likely to find the front in a slow race, and a Horsham 1800m winner last start with the market backing him from $13.00 to $9.50.
Race 9 – Progress Signs (Bm66)
Race type: Handicap, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with six runners that could be near the speed, including Artistic Genius, Kokako, Turned Down, Sub Gauge, Warrior Within and Sun Devil. Master Of The Air from barrier 6 is midfield and the shape helps him, and Presscode from barrier 10 is the one wide runner who needs cover.
Punty read: Kokako is the bet, $10.50 on the win at $3.30. He's 3 wins from 4 first-up and has a 17.9% track strike rate, and the moderate pace puts him exactly where he wants to be from barrier 9. Presscode is the danger, Richard... no, he's the one who's been backed in from the midfield with 27.0% T-HOT strike rate, and Master Of The Air is the one the shape helps. Sub Gauge is the roughie that's drifted out from $11.00 to $19.00, and I can't see a reason in the data for that.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Kokako (No.2) — $3.30 / $1.55
Bet $10.50 Win, return $34.65
Prob 26.6% | Place: 58.6% | Value: 0.88x Steady since tip
Why Three wins from four first-up starts, the most convincing record on the card, and he sits handy from barrier 9 in a race where the speed is shared out.
2. Presscode (No.5) — $5.50 / $2.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 18.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 1.02x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.00 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Master Of The Air (No.4) — $5.50 / $2.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 0.76x Steady since tip
Why Midfield in a moderate race where the shape helps him, and he ran 3rd at Cranbourne 1300m last start, with Jamie Mott aboard.
Roughie: Sub Gauge (No.6) — $21.00 / $3.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.7% | Place: 24.1% | Value: 1.20x Steady since tip
Why Handy from barrier 5, and the 3kg weight drop from last start lines up with a 1st at Bairnsdale 1200m most recently, so if the price drift is wrong this is the one to chase.
SEQUENCE LANES
EARLY QUADDIE (R2–R5)
Smart: 9,4 / 7,1,8,6 / 11,5,4,9 / 5,1,3,2 (128 combos x $0.3906 = $50.00) -- 39.1% flexi
Punty's take: Oceans Blue and Cirque De Coco are the tight leg in Race 2, while Race 3 and Race 4 are wide open and Race 5 has a pair of genuine contenders. The ticket sits above the 30% flexi floor, and it's a solid play for a $35 outlay that pays well if the middle races behave.
QUADDIE (R6–R9)
Smart: 1,2,5 / 9,1,7,10 / 8,5,1,3 / 2,5,4 (144 combos x $0.3472 = $50.00) -- 34.7% flexi
Punty's take: Race 9 is tight with Kokako and Presscode, while Race 7 and Race 8 are the wide open legs. Four open races mean this is a risky ticket, but at 41.7% flexi it's a sensible way to get exposure to the last two staying races.
BIG 6 (R4–R9)
Smart: 11,5,4,9 / 5,1,3,2 / 1,2,5 / 9,1,7,10,3 / 8,5,1,3,6 / 2,5,4,6 (4800 combos x $0.001042 = $5.00) -- 0.10% flexi
Punty's take: This is an entertainment-only ticket. Six legs, 4800 combos and a $5 outlay mean it'll only pay if the whole card goes to script, so enjoy it for the fun and don't expect it to change your week.
NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK
1 - Blinkers off, visors on
Adakite has blinkers off first time and visors on first time for Race 1, and the market has firmed from $2.05 to $1.80. Watch the way that gear change lands in the ring.
2 - Kokako's first-up form
Kokako has a first-up record of 4:3-1-0 and comes back off 136 days. Three wins from four first-up starts is the sort of record you don't ignore.
3 - The mystery runner
Life's Uncertainty has no racing record in the data at all, with career 0:0-0-0, and the market has still backed him in from $4.40 to $2.85. Either the connections know something or the punters know nothing, and I'm happy to let you decide which.
FINAL WORD FROM THE SICKO SANCTUARY
Back Adakite and Oceans Blue like they owe you money, but don't chase the back-markers when the slow tempo makes them look like heroes. Mornington's a good track for the strong ones, so take your wins when they come. See you at the rail.
