Punty's Early Mail
PUNTY EARLY MAIL, Geraldton (2026-11-03)
For all of Punty's tips for Geraldton, head to https://punty.ai/tips/geraldton-2026-11-03
Rightio Degenerates, Geraldton on a Good 4 with a fine day, 14mm in the last week and a bit of wind chasing the rain around, so the front-runners will want to be sharp before the first bell. Seven races, a card that runs from 1100m to 1600m, and a lot of horses sitting on the back foot. Grab a coffee, get the cheat sheet out and let's have a crack.
MEET SNAPSHOT
Track: Geraldton, 1100m to 1600m card
Rail: True, no rail position given in the data
Official going: Good 4 (Nil rainfall last 24hrs, 14mm last 7 days)
Weather: Fine, 0.4mm of rain since 9am, gusts 24.1km/h
Early lane guess: unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Race 1 reads Slow Pace, Races 2 and 3 read Genuine, and Races 4 to 7 read Moderate. Only Race 1 has nobody mapping to lead, so the early speed is spread thin across most of the card.
Jockeys to follow:
Kyra Yuill: rides seven today, including Diver Dan (Race 1), Il Bello Beals (Race 2), Onemoretwomany (Race 3), Satin Bow (Race 4), Forbidden Apple (Race 5), Aldezor (Race 6) and Champeze (Race 7). Ride count alone makes her the one to watch.
Natasha Faithfull: rides seven, with Bolta (Race 3), In Situ (Race 7) and Truly Gallant (Race 5) among them. Her track rate is 12.7% (837/6595) and she has the In Situ combo with Bonnie Stokes at 66.7% (2/3).
Madi Derrick: rides seven, including Perfect Score (Race 2), Sparkle Corner (Race 7) and Leonardo Da Grey (Race 4). Her Perfect Score pairing with Ms J Liakousis is 25% (3/12).
Stables to respect:
R K Cowl (10 runners): Truly Gallant, Leonardo Da Grey, Aldezor and Il Bello Beals are all his, and he has the most runners on the card by a distance.
Malcolm Mackenzie (9 runners): Blowin' Smoke (Race 6) and Our Kiwi Princess (Race 7) carry his colours, and he has three in Race 5 alone.
G W Hammarquist (5 runners): Jewel Of Zavala (Race 2), Manhattan Eight and Solidified in the same race, and Cosmic Eclipse (Race 6). Jewel Of Zavala is the one I'd be watching.
Punty's take: Here's the thing about Geraldton today. Race 1 is a Slow Pace maiden where nobody wants the lead, so the bunch will be crawling early and the horses that finish fastest are the ones that matter. Kala Rose from barrier 2 is the likeliest to find the front there, and I'm not chasing her. Race 2 is the one I'd call the most open of the early races, with The Stalagmite the only real leader from barrier 13 and a lot of horses sitting handy behind him. Perfect Score sits in that handy spot and the shape helps him, which is why he's in my bets.
Race 3 is a Genuine Pace bench race with Prince Ragnar uncontested on the lead from barrier 7, and Bolta sitting midfield from barrier 3 is the one the shape is kind to. Races 4, 5, 6 and 7 all read Moderate, and that's where it gets messy. Gypsy Rhyme and Dolce Diva both want the front in Race 4 and the shape is against my Gypsy Rhyme. Race 5 is the chaos race with eight back-runners on the card that the pace hurts. Race 6 is the same story, with Archenemy from barrier 14 needing the race to fall apart. Race 7 is the banker of the four, with In Situ the clear market leader and the strongest form on the card.
What it means for you: Be aggressive on Race 7 and Race 2, where the market has the horses I like, and be patient on the rest. Race 1 is a grind, so don't be surprised if the favourite gets outrun late. I'll take the Win on Andershine at the price because the sectionals and the independent price both back him, even though the shape is against him. Race 5 and Race 6 are the chaos races where I'd be happy to spread a little more if you want the roughies in the mix, but keep the stakes tight on the top picks. The quaddie runs Races 4 to 7 and it's a wide ticket, so treat it as a fun play rather than the spine of the day. Tight on the banker, open on the rest, and don't chase the drifters.
PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI
These are the three bets the day leans on.
1 - Andershine (Race 1, No.4) — $2.40
Why Slow Pace race with nobody on the lead, so the back-runner is working uphill, but he's second last start at Geraldton 1413m and his sectionals are the quickest in the data for the card.
2 - In Situ (Race 7, No.2) — $1.85
Why The best form in the field on Good ground with four wins from eight starts, and the one horse on the card with a clear market lead who has earned it.
3 - Bolta (Race 3, No.3) — $2.40
Why Midfield from barrier 3 in a Genuine Pace race that suits him, with six wins from 22 starts and the fastest sectionals in the data.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × 10.66 = $106.60
Race 1 – The WCDC Built On Hard Yakka Mdn
Race type: Maiden, 1600m
Map & tempo: Slow pace on the card, and nobody maps to lead, with Kala Rose from barrier 2 the likeliest to find the front. Andershine is drawn 6 and sits back, and the Slow Pace shape is against him. Diamas is drawn wide from barrier 10 and needs cover, so the back-half runners will need the leaders to go early and the field to bunch.
Punty read: Andershine is the one with the money on him, a $13.00 win bet, and the case is simple enough. The shape is against him in a Slow Pace race, so the case has to come from his sectionals and his last-start second at Geraldton 1413m. Kallahti has the blinkers off for the first time and the quickest closing sectionals in the data, so he's the danger if the race turns into a sprint. Diver Dan from barrier 4 is the one to watch if the front pair stop too soon.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Andershine (No.4) — $2.40 / $1.22
Bet $13.00 Win, return $31.20
Prob 37.3% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.90x Steady since tip
Why Shape works against him, but his last start was a second at Geraldton 1413m, beaten 1.7L, and his sectionals are the quickest on time in the data. Zephen Johnston-Porter rides and K R Anderson has the runner, so the big question is whether he gets the trail.
2. Diver Dan (No.2) — $3.10 / $1.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.2% | Place: 61.7% | Value: 0.72x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.40 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Diamas (No.8) — $5.50 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.5% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.80x Steady since tip
Why The market has come for him, $7.00 into $5.50, and tongue tie went on for the first time today. Natasha Faithfull has a 40% combo (2/5) with A L Bowtell, but he's drawn wide from barrier 10.
Roughie: Mt Magnet Gold (No.9) — $12.00 / $3.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.5% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.90x Steady since tip
Why Madi Derrick rides a backmarker drawn 9 who needs the early speed to fall over and a Slow Pace race to turn into a sprint home. His excuses are raced wide twice, so a clean run from barrier 9 is the key.
Race 2 – The Netty G Runs The Show Mdn
Race type: Maiden, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with The Stalagmite the only leader from barrier 13, uncontested on the map. Hold My Wine from barrier 2 and Il Bello Beals from barrier 6 are the ones who'll sit close, while Inspirational Mac and Lady Enfield are drawn wide and have to work to get across. The shape hurts The Stalagmite and the handy runners at 0.82, so the cover is the thing.
Punty read: Perfect Score is the bet at $1.90, $15.00 on the win. He sits handy from barrier 11 and the shape helps him at 1.03, and his last start was a third at Geraldton 1213m beaten 0.8L. He's the one I'm backing to win a sprint on a track that's got no wrinkles. Hold My Wine is the danger if he gets the trail from barrier 2, and Jewel Of Zavala is the one who runs on if the pace stays genuine.
Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)
1. Perfect Score (No.7) — $1.90 / $1.17
Bet $15.00 Win, return $28.50
Prob 30.9% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.59x Steady since tip
Why Madi Derrick rides him handy with the shape in his favour. The short price means I'm not chasing him, but he's the one with the form and the place is the thing I like most.
2. Hold My Wine (No.2) — $2.90 / $1.45
Bet Tracked
Prob 22.4% | Place: 55.7% | Value: 0.65x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.45 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Il Bello Beals (No.1) — $7.00 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.97x Steady since tip
Why Kyra Yuill has him from barrier 6 and his track record is 0 wins, 3 seconds and 9 thirds from 24 starts at Geraldton. He's the honest placegetter, not the winner.
Roughie: Jewel Of Zavala (No.13) — $11.00 / $3.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 6.2% | Place: 27.8% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why Natasha Faithfull rides a horse with a Speed Rank of 1, handy from barrier 9, and a sectional L600 ranked 2. If the leader goes too hard and the handy horses start to fade, he gets a run at them.
Race 3 – Con's Liquor Geraldton (Bm70+)
Race type: BenchMark 70+, 1100m
Map & tempo: Genuine pace with Prince Ragnar the only leader from barrier 7 and uncontested on the map. Gold Keeper from barrier 1 and Simply Rosso from barrier 2 are the ones who'll press him, and Bolta sits midfield from barrier 3. The shape helps the midfield runners at 1.08, which is why Bolta is in my bets.
Punty read: Bolta is the bet at $2.40, $8.50 on the win. Natasha Faithfull rides him midfield from barrier 3 with six wins from 22 starts and a 23.5% combo (8/34) with A P Scally. The danger is Prince Ragnar if he gets the lead uncontested, and Onemoretwomany if the leader stops. Gold Keeper's excuses are bumped and held up, so he's a horse to watch if the race runs true.
Top 3 + Roughie ($8.50 pool)
1. Bolta (No.3) — $2.40 / $1.45
Bet $8.50 Win, return $20.40
Prob 32.1% | Place: 61.5% | Value: 0.77x Steady since tip
Why Midfield from barrier 3 in a Genuine Pace race is the trip he wants. Six wins from 22 with the fastest L600 and L400 sectionals in the data, and the place price is decent if you'd rather nibble.
2. Onemoretwomany (No.2) — $3.80 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 21.1% | Place: 50.3% | Value: 0.80x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.95 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Gold Keeper (No.4) — $4.80 / place tote
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.3% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.64x Steady since tip
Why Troy Turner rides him handy from barrier 1, and his Good record is 3 wins, 13 seconds and 7 thirds from 41 starts. He's the one to watch if the leader gets rolled.
Roughie: Prince Ragnar (No.1) — $11.00 / $3.60
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.4% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.92x Steady since tip
Why Kayla Martin rides a leader who has nine wins from 59 starts. If he gets the uncontested lead, he's the one horse who doesn't have to fight, and the excuses in his last few runs are all interference.
Race 4 – The WCDC Dust & Dollars Hcp (C2)
Race type: Class 2, 1100m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with two horses fighting for the front, Gypsy Rhyme from barrier 9 and Dolce Diva from barrier 7. Dolce Diva has the inside gate and the better chance of the lead, so Gypsy Rhyme has to work to cross. Leonardo Da Grey from barrier 11 and Populism from barrier 10 are the back-half runners who need cover or luck.
Punty read: Gypsy Rhyme is the bet at $3.70, $10.50 on the win. His shape is against him at 0.82 and he has to lead from a wide barrier, so the case has to come from his form. He won at Ascot 1200m on 2026-05-06 with a 180-day spell since. Bailey Webster rides him, and the first-up record is one start with a win. He's the one who gets the fight, and Dolce Diva is the one who makes the early running ugly. Leonardo Da Grey is the danger if the front pair go too hard, with fast L600 and L400 sectionals and first-time concussion plates on.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. Gypsy Rhyme (No.1) — $3.70 / $1.65
Bet $10.50 Win, return $38.85
Prob 25.5% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.94x Steady since tip
Why The win at Ascot was a clean run and the form is the best on the card for the trip. Four weight up from last start is the one worry, and I'll take that risk for the money.
2. Leonardo Da Grey (No.2) — $4.20 / $1.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 23.1% | Place: 53.9% | Value: 0.97x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.75 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Annie Warbucks (No.5) — $5.00 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.1% | Place: 39.3% | Value: 0.70x Steady since tip
Why Zephen Johnston-Porter rides him handy from barrier 8 and he's just won at Geraldton 1113m from 12 starters. His Track record is 1-1-0 from 1 start, which says he's better than the price.
Roughie: Extra Zero (No.3) — $11.00 / $3.00
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.3% | Place: 27.8% | Value: 0.80x Steady since tip
Why Jason Li rides a horse who sits handy from barrier 4 and his Good record of 1 win and 9 seconds from 24 starts says he's a finisher. If the two leaders fight it out, he gets the trail and runs on.
Race 5 – West Coast Drilling & Civil (Bm58+)
Race type: BenchMark 58+, 1600m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace and nobody maps to lead, with Bayhara from barrier 13, Cantilever from barrier 15 and Lordgivemestrength from barrier 7 the likeliest to find the front. Cantilever is drawn wide and has to work to cross, and most of the back-half runners need cover or luck. The shape hurts Truly Gallant's midfield position at 0.86, so I'm backing the horse who can win from there.
Punty read: Truly Gallant is the bet, $13.00 each way at $3.50 / $1.62. He settles midfield from barrier 11 and the shape is against him, so the case is his own form. Two seconds in his last two starts at Geraldton, the fastest L600 and L400 sectionals and the tongue tie on for the first time. Natasha Faithfull rides and R K Cowl has the runner. The danger is Cantilever, who has three thirds at Geraldton and a 46.1% place rate, and the roughie Keytrade if the race goes wide.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Truly Gallant (No.4) — $3.70 / $1.62
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P), collects $34.58 if it wins ($24.05 win + $10.53 place), $10.53 if it only places
Prob 22.8% | Place: 54.1% | Value: 0.84x Steady since tip
Why Two seconds in his last two starts at Geraldton and the quickest closing sectionals in the data. The honest warning is 0 wins from 4 at 60 to 62kg, so the weight matters.
2. Cantilever (No.3) — $6.50 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.94x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Forbidden Apple (No.5) — $3.40 / $1.57
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.0% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.44x Steady since tip
Why Kyra Yuill rides a backmarker from barrier 5, and his last start was a second at Geraldton 1413m beaten 0.9L. He's one that runs on if the front pair stop too early.
Roughie: Keytrade (No.6) — $15.00 / $3.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.7% | Place: 23.6% | Value: 0.70x Steady since tip
Why Kayla Martin rides a midfield horse from barrier 4, and his last run was a fourth at Geraldton 1413m. A Moderate Pace race with a couple of wide runs in front gives him the trail.
Race 6 – The Netty G Happy Wife, Happy Life Hcp (C2)
Race type: Class 2, 1400m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace and nobody maps to lead, with Encosta De Money from barrier 7, Flaming Dragon from barrier 11, Noble Touch from barrier 12 and Gold Lightning from barrier 16 all the likeliest to find the front. Archenemy from barrier 14 is a back-half runner who needs cover, and the shape is against him at 0.86. Aldezor sits midfield from barrier 1 and has the inside draw to work with.
Punty read: Archenemy is the bet, $13.00 win at $4.00 / $1.75. He's a backmarker who needs the pace to fall over, and the shape is against him, so the case has to come from the class. Joseph See rides, and his Class 2 record is 1 win and 1 second from 2 starts. His last start was a sixth at Geraldton 1200m and the sectionals are the quickest in the data. Aldezor is the danger from barrier 1 who won at Geraldton 1400m and 1100m in his last two starts.
Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)
1. Archenemy (No.1) — $4.00 / $1.75
Bet $13.00 Win, return $52.00
Prob 16.6% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.66x Steady since tip
Why He's a backmarker and the shape is against him, but the Class 2 record and the fastest sectionals in the data give him a real case. Four weight up from last start, so the weight is the honest concern.
2. Aldezor (No.2) — $7.00 / $2.40
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.5% | Place: 35.2% | Value: 1.01x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.40 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Noble Touch (No.7) — $4.80 / $1.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.8% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.47x Steady since tip
Why Natasha Faithfull rides him handy from barrier 12, and a combo of 40% (2/5) with A L Bowtell is the reason I'm interested. He's finished second at Geraldton 1619m, beaten 1L.
Roughie: Blowin' Smoke (No.6) — $14.00 / $3.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.2% | Place: 28.7% | Value: 1.01x Steady since tip
Why Bailey Webster rides a midfield horse from barrier 6 who is at his best at the trip (Dist 13:1-2-3). He was bumped and hampered in his last run, so a clean trip is the path to winning.
Race 7 – The WCDC Blood, Sweat & Beers (Bm58+)
Race type: BenchMark 58+, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate pace with Sparkle Corner from barrier 4 and Kentucky Blue from barrier 8 the two horses fighting for the front. In Situ is drawn wide from barrier 11 and has to work to cross, and the back-half runners Becalotti and Our Kiwi Princess need cover to get a run. The shape is against In Situ at 0.82, but the form is the strongest on the card.
Punty read: In Situ is the bet at $1.85, $10.50 on the win. The shape is against him, but he's won at Geraldton 1100m and finished a 0.2L second at Geraldton 1200m last start, and his sectionals are the quickest on time in the data. Natasha Faithfull rides him and the combo with Bonnie Stokes is 66.7% (2/3). The danger is Champeze, who has come in from $6.50 to $5.00 and won at Geraldton 1200m last start, and Deep Discretion whose first-up record is 4-0-1-0.
Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)
1. In Situ (No.2) — $1.85 / $1.14
Bet $10.50 Win, return $19.43
Prob 35.7% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.66x Steady since tip
Why The best form on the card, with four wins from eight starts and a 0.2L second last start. The price is short so I'm not chasing him up.
2. Deep Discretion (No.4) — $4.60 / $1.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 20.9% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.96x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.75 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Champeze (No.8) — $5.50 / $1.85
Bet Tracked
Prob 16.5% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.91x Steady since tip
Why Kyra Yuill rides a midfield horse from barrier 3 who has come in from $6.50 to $5.00 on the market. He won at Geraldton 1200m last start.
Roughie: Sparkle Corner (No.3) — $9.50 / $2.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.8% | Place: 38.8% | Value: 0.74x Steady since tip
Why Madi Derrick rides a leader from barrier 4 with five wins at Geraldton from 24 starts. If he gets the front in a race with Kentucky Blue, the pace stays sensible and he's the one who sets it.
SEQUENCE LANES
QUADDIE (R4–R7)
Smart: 2,1,5 / 4,5,3,7 / 7,2,1 / 2,8 (72 combos x $0.3472 = $25.00) -- 34.7% flexi
Punty's take: Race 7 is tight on In Situ and Race 4 has two strong runners in Gypsy Rhyme and Leonardo Da Grey, so those two legs can stay short. Race 5 and Race 6 are the chaos legs and they are wide open, with four runners each. The flexi floor is 30% and this ticket sits at 39.1%, which is a sensible play, but short-priced winners rarely pay, so a longshot in Race 5 or Race 6 is what turns it into a real return.
NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK
1 - Diamas is getting the market
Tongue tie went on for the first time and blinkers are back on (again), and the market has come from $7.00 to $5.50. He's a No Bet for me, but the money is worth noticing.
2 - Populism is the drifter on the card
Tongue clip and tongue control bit both came off for the first time, and he's blown out from $51.00 to $67.00 in the market. I'm not chasing a horse whose gear changes don't have the market behind them.
3 - Prince Ragnar has more wins than most of the field has starts
Nine wins from 59 starts is a lot of Thor cosplay for a horse that's copped three interference excuses. He's the roughie with a real path if the lead stays his.
FINAL WORD FROM THE LOOSE UNIT LOUNGE
The Loose Unit Lounge is open, the card is set, and the only thing I'd ask is you bet like a person who wants to be here for the Sunday arvo. Back the bets, watch the first two, and don't chase the drifters.
