PUNTY EARLY MAIL, Morphettville (2026-10-24)
For all of Punty's tips for Morphettville, head to https://punty.ai/tips/morphettville-2026-10-24

Rightio Degenerates, Morphettville is a fine-weather, Good 4 meeting with nine races from 1050m to 2000m, so the track is dead-set fair and the market is doing most of the talking. Confucious Flyer at $1.43 is the banker of the day and the money has been piling into him. Virtual Illusion at $1.87 is the other heavy lean, so my job is to find where the punt sits outside the favourites. Grab a coffee, because this one has a few sneaky roughies and one proper chaos race in the back half.

Meet Snapshot

Track: Morphettville, 1050m to 2000m card
Rail: True, no rail position given, so I'm not guessing which way it's set
Official going: Good 4 (Rainfall: Nil)
Weather: Fine, gusts 22.2km/h
Early lane guess: unknown pre-race, watch the first two
Tempo profile: Genuine pace in R1, R2, R4, R6 and R9, hot pace in R3 with two or three leaders stacked up, and moderate paces in R5, R7 and R8. The early speed is thickest in R3 and that's where the backmarkers get a sniff.
Jockeys to follow:
Todd Pannell: 8 rides today, including Haniata in R1, In Love in R3 and Startide in R5, with a 13.8% strike rate at this track on Prince Magnetite's line (944/6836).
Rochelle Milnes: 7 rides today, riding Gift Of Silence, Babayka, Taking Omaha, Talisay and Cicala, and sitting at 11.7% at this track (301/2578).
Jake Toeroek: 6 rides today, including Virtual Illusion in R2, who is HOT over the last 100 rides at 17.0% (A2E 1.16).
Stables to respect:
Sarah Rutten (7 runners): Artison and Asternal Love in R1, Ice Symphony in R5, and Eventually and From The Block in R8. Seven runners is a big team, and the numbers are backing it up.
Garret Lynch (6 runners): Costless and Canny Miss in R5, plus Mr Trafficanti in R6 and Williamsburg in R7. Lynch's barn runs at 12% at this track (374/3125), which is a solid base to work from.
Phillip & Tommy Stokes (6 runners): Anahorish in R5, Australia Forever in R6, Obucci in R3, and Bargain Boy and Taupo Tiger in R9. They have two of the R9 contenders, so watch that race closely.

Punty's take: This is a meeting of two halves. The first half has the banker races: R1 and R2 are both tight at the top, with Confucious Flyer and Virtual Illusion the two horses the money has come for. R3 is the one with the speed. In Love, Zatanna and Squad are all going forward and that hot pace shapes the race for anyone sitting behind them, so Boyd has to be ridden to hold his spot. Then comes the chaos. R5 and R6 are wide open with no runner above a 16% win chance in the R5 and R6 numbers. R9 is the same, with a bunch of mid-pack runners and no standout. If you want a banker, look at R1 and R2. If you want a payday, the back half is where the fun is.

What it means for you: Be aggressive in R2 on the back of Virtual Illusion, because the market has cut him from $2.50 to $1.87 and the speed sits on his side. Protect yourself in R1 with the Flyer win bet, because it's the one race where the price is short but the case is strong. In the chaos races, keep your stakes small on the picks and spread the value across the placed options. The quaddies are a lottery ticket, so bet them for the fun, not the rent.

PUNTY'S BIG 3 + MULTI

These are the three bets the day leans on.

1 - Confucious Flyer (Race 1, No.3) — $1.43
Why Heavy market support taking him from $1.85 to $1.43, sits on the speed rated first early, and the sectionals are the best in the field. First-up and on the track he's shown a placing, so he's the banker this card needs.
2 - Virtual Illusion (Race 2, No.2) — $1.87
Why The market has hammered him from $2.50 to $1.87 and his sectionals are fastest across the board. He's a backmarker, so he needs the leaders to go hard, and the leader is More Than Hope with Virtual Illusion ready to sweep past.
3 - Cicala (Race 8, No.7) — $3.70
Why Fastest sectionals in the field across L600, L400 and time, and a track record of 3 wins from 6 at the track. He's on-pace in a moderate race, which suits him, and the place price is the bet to watch.
Multi (all three to win): $10 × 9.89 = $98.90

Race 1 – Sportsbet Get On Extra Mdn Plate

Race type: Maiden, 1050m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace with Expeeare the only leader. Confucious Flyer is ON-PACE, Haniata and Madam Moneybags are ON-PACE, and Artison, Asternal Love and the midfield sit back.
Punty read: Confucious Flyer is the bet here because he's the one I make the strongest pick of the day. Heavy money has taken him from $1.85 to $1.43, he sits on the speed and has the fastest sectionals in the field. Expeeare will lead, so Flyer just has to stay within striking distance and he's done. Artison is the danger from midfield with a tongue tie going on for the first time and a time rank of 2 in the sectionals. Asternal Love is one to watch too, but neither is a horse I'm backing.

Top 3 + Roughie ($15.00 pool)

1. Confucious Flyer (No.3) — $1.43 / $1.04
Bet $15.00 Win, return $21.45
Prob 55.5% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.79x Steady since tip
Why The banker of the day and the one with the money behind him. Fastest sectionals at 400m and time rank fastest, and his only race at the track and distance was a placing, so the form points his way.
2. Artison (No.12) — $11.00 / $2.55
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.7% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.29x ▼5% since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.55 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Asternal Love (No.13) — $9.00 / $2.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.6% | Place: 44.0% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why Sarah Rutten barn and a combo with Connor Murtagh at 14.7% (14/95). Midfield runner with a late run, but the place price is too short for the risk.
Roughie: Haniata (No.10) — $16.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 4.5% | Place: 28.0% | Value: 0.73x Steady since tip
Why The path to winning is Expeeare going too fast and the on-pace pair getting stuck. Todd Pannell's combo with this trainer is 20.9% (77/369), so he's worth a look if the speed collapses.

Race 2 – Greenway Turf Solutions Hcp (C2)

Race type: Class 2, 1200m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace with More Than Hope the only leader. Nosie By Nature is the only one listed as disadvantaged on pace. Virtual Illusion is a BACKMARKER and Olivia Marie is MIDFIELD, with Trebilco, Codename and Wind Rush on-pace.
Punty read: Virtual Illusion is the bet because the market has him from $2.50 to $1.87, he has the fastest sectionals in the field and Jake Toeroek's last 100 rides are hot at 17.0%. He has to sit wide of the speed so the leaders have to go hard, and More Than Hope leading gives him that. Olivia Marie is the one to watch at $6.40 with a place value edge, and Wind Rush has speed and some form. I'm not backing either.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Virtual Illusion (No.2) — $1.87 / $1.14
Bet $10.50 Win, return $19.64
Prob 34.8% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 0.65x ▼3% since tip
Why Fastest sectionals across L600, L400 and time, and 2 wins from 9 starts. He's the one I trust most in this race.
2. Olivia Marie (No.7) — $6.40 / $2.05
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.1% | Place: 53.8% | Value: 1.22x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.05 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Wind Rush (No.9) — $9.00 / $2.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.4% | Place: 40.0% | Value: 0.85x Steady since tip
Why He's one of the most consistent types with 22 starts, and his sectionals are rank 2 at both ends. He needs the pace to hold up, so he's a place chance rather than a win one.
Roughie: Trebilco (No.8) — $17.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 5.8% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 0.98x ▼12% since tip
Why On-pace from a wide-open race with Noel Callow riding. If the leaders flame out, he's the one who can fly home from behind the pace.

Race 3 – Sportsbet Race Previews Hcp (68)

Race type: Restricted 68, 1050m
Map & tempo: Hot Pace with In Love, Zatanna and Squad all LEADERS. Boyd, Over Yonder, Captain Happy, Obucci, Babayka, Loseyatoetoe, Round Two and Delightful Shecky are all ON-PACE or MIDFIELD behind them.
Punty read: Boyd is the bet here because he's the firm favourite and the market is firming him from $3.10 to $2.60. He's rated first in the probability rankings and has a 3-1-2 record on the card. The honest caveat is the hot pace: Boyd's map factor is 0.90, so he has to be ridden well to hold his spot. Captain Happy and Babayka are the danger, because they are the ones with the best place values and the two hot-pace leaders will take the speed out of the race for them.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Boyd (No.1) — $2.60 / $1.40
Bet $10.50 Win, return $27.30
Prob 24.1% | Place: 50.1% | Value: 0.63x ▼2% since tip
Why Market support is firming him, he's the top-rated horse in the probability rankings, and he has 3 wins from 12 starts. He needs to be ridden to keep his position in a hot race.
2. Captain Happy (No.6) — $8.00 / $2.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 41.1% | Value: 1.11x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.50 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Babayka (No.5) — $16.00 / $3.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.5% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.52x Steady since tip
Why Rochelle Milnes rides a dual-distance type with 63 career starts and a Dist record of 4 wins from 19. He's an each-way danger rather than a bet for me.
Roughie: Obucci (No.8) — $11.00 / $3.20
Bet Tracked
Prob 7.8% | Place: 29.3% | Value: 0.86x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers come off for the first time and he has a 2-from-10 career record. If the hot pace burns out the leaders in the straight, he's the one who can run them down.

Race 4 – Ule Hoof Oil Hcp (C1)

Race type: Class 1, 1500m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace with White Pointer the only LEADER. Prince Magnetite, Damelli and Fiorona are on the mid-pace line, and the rest of the field is MIDFIELD or BACKMARKER.
Punty read: White Pointer is the bet on the each-way, because he is the only one with the lead to himself and the map factor sits at 1.07. Jockey Jacob Opperman is HOT over the last 100 at 19.0%, and the trainer combo with Michael Hickmott gives him a real edge. Fiorona has come from $3.70 to $2.92 in a heavy move, so he's the danger from midfield, and Prince Magnetite has an overlay the market is ignoring.

Top 3 + Roughie ($13.00 pool)

1. White Pointer (No.4) — $4.40 / $1.80
Bet $13.00 Each Way ($6.50W + $6.50P), collects $40.30 if it wins ($28.60 win + $11.70 place), $11.70 if it only places
Prob 22.3% | Place: 62.8% | Value: 0.98x ▲5% since tip
Why Sole leader with a place chance that is the best in the race. He's undefeated on good going so far, with a one-from-one record that's clean.
2. Fiorona (No.8) — $2.92 / $1.45
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.9% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.41x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Millsy's Award (No.1) — $7.40 / $2.50
Bet Tracked
Prob 11.4% | Place: 45.2% | Value: 0.84x Steady since tip
Why Backmarker with Jake Toeroek riding and a 50% combo with Tyler Donaldson-Aitken from two rides. He has to come from the back, which is a tough ask in a 1500m race.
Roughie: Prince Magnetite (No.2) — $10.00 / $3.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.7% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 0.87x Steady since tip
Why Todd Pannell rides a midfielder with the best time rank of 3 in the sectionals. He's the overlay the numbers like, so if White Pointer tires, he's the one to cash in.

Race 5 – Peter Elberg Funerals Hcp (62)

Race type: Restricted 62, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace with Kalmana and Canny Miss the two LEADERS. Costless, Ice Symphony, Paganini, Zestiman and Smashing Action are ON-PACE, with the rest of the field in midfield or backmarker positions.
Punty read: Canny Miss is the bet on the win line. He is the one who can take the lead with Kalmana the only other speed, and Garret Lynch's barn is running at 12% at this track. His map factor is 0.87, so the pace has to be favourable, and that's the caveat. Anahorish is the danger with sectionals that are fastest across L600 and L400, and Paganini is the value overlay sitting on-pace.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Canny Miss (No.12) — $3.50 / $1.60
Bet $10.50 Win, return $36.75
Prob 15.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.53x Steady since tip
Why Connor Murtagh has him on the lead and the speed is light enough. A win and a second from 3 starts says he's got a good cornerstone, and Garret Lynch's combo with this jockey is 14.5% (18/124).
2. Anahorish (No.13) — $8.40 / $2.75
Bet Tracked
Prob 12.9% | Place: 30.6% | Value: 1.08x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.75 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Paganini (No.5) — $12.00 / $3.80
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.4% | Place: 27.8% | Value: 1.13x Steady since tip
Why On-pace from a field with light speed and a 21.2% combo with Rochelle Milnes (7/33). He's an each-way danger in this race.
Roughie: Garcon Renard (No.2) — $13.00 / $3.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.2% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 1.20x Steady since tip
Why A midfielder with a 25% combo with Jason Holder (3/12). If the speed collapses in the straight, he's the one who can flash home late.

Race 6 – Freeman Wauchope Timber Hcp (68)

Race type: Restricted 68, 1800m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace with Kikorangi the only LEADER, and his map factor sits at 0.90. Flying Brant is ON-PACE, Longer Route, Synthesise, Mr Trafficanti and Stolen Kiss are MIDFIELD, and Yasuke, Tottori, Australia Forever and Somewhere Soon are BACKMARKERS.
Punty read: Longer Route is the bet because he's the most likely to sit in the right spot and finish off the leader's effort. He's a midfield horse with 37 starts and a Good record of 3 wins from 23. Kikorangi leading at a 0.90 map factor is the reason I'd rather sit with the closers, and Australia Forever from the back is a sneaky chance too. Synthesise has a place value edge but I'm not backing him.

Top 3 + Roughie ($5.00 pool)

1. Longer Route (No.6) — $5.50 / $1.95
Bet $5.00 Win, return $27.50
Prob 17.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.94x ▼8% since tip
Why Midfield runner who settles well and has the best record of the field on track and distance. He's the one who can take advantage if Kikorangi goes too hard.
2. Synthesise (No.7) — $8.40 / $2.55
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.6% | Place: 33.8% | Value: 1.23x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $2.55 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Australia Forever (No.5) — $5.70 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.7% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.78x ▼4% since tip
Why Backmarker with Noel Callow riding and a combo with the trainer at 24.2% (8/33). He needs the pace to fall apart, so he's a danger from the back.
Roughie: Yasuke (No.3) — $11.00 / $3.10
Bet Tracked
Prob 10.3% | Place: 34.1% | Value: 1.13x ▼9% since tip
Why Backmarker with the T-HOT trainer line at 17.0% (A2E 1.42). He's the one who can come from the back if the pace is genuine enough to wear down the leader.

Race 7 – Kirin Ichiban (Bm80)

Race type: Benchmark 80, 2000m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace with no named leaders in the data. Tippa, I Catchem Fox and Placo are the ones listed as disadvantaged, and Tyusix, Kirkliston Blu and Placo are on-pace. Giggenbach, Williamsburg, Talisay and Crimson Vine are MIDFIELD.
Punty read: Giggenbach is the bet on the win line, with a 4 wins from 6 record over the distance and the trip suiting him. The trainer's last 100 are running cold, which is a worry, so I'm not thrilled. Tyusix has been backed in from $5.50 to $5.20, so he's the one the market likes. Placo has a Blinkers ON first time move and a place value edge, so he's the danger.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.50 pool)

1. Giggenbach (No.5) — $3.90 / $1.70
Bet $10.50 Win, return $40.95
Prob 21.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.84x Steady since tip
Why Four wins from six at the distance and a 50% combo with Caitlin Tootell (2/4). He's the one I'd rather be on in a 2000m benchmark race.
2. Tyusix (No.9) — $5.20 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.8% | Place: 39.7% | Value: 0.82x Steady since tip
Why A real chance — but at $1.95 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.
3. Placo (No.6) — $8.00 / $2.65
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.0% | Place: 38.9% | Value: 1.20x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers ON first time and a trainer HOT at 17.0% over the last 100 (A2E 1.42). He's on-pace, so he can use his speed in a moderate race.
Roughie: Williamsburg (No.1) — $11.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 8.4% | Place: 32.7% | Value: 0.93x ▲5% since tip
Why Midfield with Jordyn Weatherley riding, and the market has drifted from $7.50 to $11.00. If the leaders get tired, he's a long shot that can get there late.

Race 8 – Sportsbet Green Tick (Bm84)

Race type: Benchmark 84, 1200m
Map & tempo: Moderate Pace with The Stalker and From The Block the two LEADERS. Cicala, Like A Drifter, Eventually and Surprise Coming are ON-PACE, and Light The Night, One More Song, Holy Racket and the rest are MIDFIELD or BACKMARKER.
Punty read: Cicala is the bet on the each-way because he's the fastest-sectional horse in the race and sits on-pace in a moderate pace. He has a Track record of 3 wins from 6, and Rochelle Milnes's combo with the trainer is 16.7% (3/18). Like A Drifter is the one the money's on, with heavy support from $3.30 to $2.55, and From The Block is the danger from the lead. Light The Night is the overlay sitting at 14.4% from the back.

Top 3 + Roughie ($7.50 pool)

1. Cicala (No.7) — $3.70 / $1.60
Bet ⊘ Scratched · bet voided
Prob 28.1% | Place: 70.0% | Value: 1.04x
Why Fastest in the sectionals at L600, L400 and time, and the best track record in the race. He sits on-pace in a moderate race, which suits him perfectly.
2. Like A Drifter (No.6) — $2.60 / $1.32
Bet Tracked
Prob 19.1% | Place: 57.0% | Value: 0.50x ▼16% since tip
Why Heavy market support taking him from $3.30 to $2.55, so the price is too short for my liking. He's the one I'd keep an eye on if he drifts back out.
3. From The Block (No.8) — $6.00 / $2.05
Bet Tracked
Prob 15.4% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.92x ▼20% since tip

Prob 5.6% | Place: 24.4% | Value: 0.84x ▼32% since tip
Why A real chance — but at $3.40 the place the numbers don't give me enough edge to insure with. Watching, not betting.

Race 9 – Schweppes Hcp (62)

Race type: Restricted 62, 1600m
Map & tempo: Genuine Pace with Miss Trombari the only LEADER. Bargain Boy, Showrunner, Taupo Tiger and Yarrawizardharry are ON-PACE, and Mister Martini, I Am Ralph and Zarkana are BACKMARKERS.
Punty read: Bargain Boy is the bet on the each-way. He's a speed horse with the fastest sectionals in time, sitting on-pace behind the lone leader, and Caitlin Jones is HOT at 13.0% over the last 100. Mister Martini is the danger from the back with a value edge, and Darci Lane has been drawn well from the midfield. Zarkana's blinkers are back on, and he's the roughie if the leader collapses.

Top 3 + Roughie ($10.00 pool)

1. Bargain Boy (No.1) — $5.50 / $2.00
Bet $10.00 Each Way ($5.00W + $5.00P), collects $37.50 if it wins ($27.50 win + $10.00 place), $10.00 if it only places
Prob 14.6% | Place: 47.5% | Value: 0.80x Steady since tip
Why Fastest in time on the sectionals with 2 wins from 12 starts. He's on-pace behind a lone leader in a 1600m race, which is the perfect set-up.
2. Mister Martini (No.5) — $7.00 / $2.25
Bet Tracked
Prob 14.1% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.99x Steady since tip
Why The top pick's each-way already covers the place angle here — doubling up is paying twice for the same insurance. Tracked instead.
3. Darci Lane (No.3) — $5.00 / $1.95
Bet Tracked
Prob 13.6% | Place: 46.1% | Value: 0.68x Steady since tip
Why Midfield runner with a J-HOT jockey line of 19.0% (A2E 1.49). He's a danger in the straight.
Roughie: Zarkana (No.11) — $9.00 / $2.90
Bet Tracked
Prob 9.7% | Place: 37.5% | Value: 0.87x Steady since tip
Why Blinkers ON again and fastest sectionals across L600 and L400. If Miss Trombari gets rolled, he's the one who can come from the back.

SEQUENCE LANES

EARLY QUADDIE (R2–R5)

Smart: 2,7 / 1,6,5,8 / 4,8,1,2 / 12,2,13,5 (128 combos x $0.3906 = $50.00) -- 39.1% flexi
Punty's take: R2 and R3 are the tight legs with Virtual Illusion and Boyd at the top, while R4 and R5 are wide open. Flexi sits at 36.5%, above the 30% floor, and this is a high-risk ticket with one or two strong legs to carry it.

QUADDIE (R6–R9)

Smart: 5,6,3 / 5,9,6,1 / 7,6,8,9 / 1,3,5,11 (192 combos x $0.33854 = $65.00) -- 33.9% flexi
Punty's take: Every leg is an open race, so this is wide and expensive. Cicala's leg in R8 is the tightest, with the other three legs open. Flexi is 33.9% against the 30% floor, and it needs a $5 to $10 winner somewhere to pay well.

BIG 6 (R4–R9)

Smart: 4,8,1 / 12,2,13,5 / 5,6,3,7 / 5,9,6,1 / 7,6,8,9,5 / 1,3,5,11 (3840 combos x $0.001302 = $5.00) -- 0.13% flexi
Punty's take: Entertainment only. Six legs with four runners each means the ticket is effectively a lottery, and the 0.12% flexi sits above the 0.10% floor. Keep the $5 for the fun and don't chase it.

NUGGETS FROM THE TRACK

1 - Blinkers back on again
Zarkana in R9 has Blinkers ON (again), and his sectionals are fastest across L600 and L400. He's a roughie for a reason, so watch how he starts.
2 - Heavy money on the favourites
Virtual Illusion has been pushed from $2.50 to $1.87 and Stolen Kiss in R6 has gone from $51.00 to $34.00, both marked HEAVY. Money is coming on these two, so don't be surprised if the early prices look skinny.
3 - Eventually at $151.00
Eventually in R8 is priced at $151.00 and carries a career record of 7 wins from 33 starts with 4 seconds and 2 thirds. He's the most expensive horse with a real CV on the card, and the price says the market has forgotten him.

FINAL WORD FROM THE SICKO SANCTUARY

Get your tickets in early, check the barriers before you jump and don't chase a dud quaddie down the rabbit hole. Back the horses you believe in and let the rest go. See you at the track, you beautiful degenerates.
